1เรากำลังจะแนะนำตัวเราเองหรือ หรือว่าเราต้องการหนังสือแนะนำตัวให้แก่พวกท่านเหมือนอย่างคนบางคนหรือ เราต้องการหนังสือแนะนำตัวจากพวกท่านหรือ
1Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as do some, letters of commendation to you or from you?
2ท่านเองเป็นหนังสือของเราจารึกไว้ที่ดวงใจของเรา ให้คนทั้งปวงได้รู้และได้อ่าน
2You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men;
3ท่านปรากฏเป็นหนังสือของพระคริสต์ซึ่งเราเป็นผู้ปรนนิบัติ และได้เขียนไว้ มิใช่ด้วยน้ำหมึก แต่ด้วยพระวิญญาณของพระเจ้าผู้ทรงพระชนม์ และมิได้เขียนไว้ที่แผ่นศิลา แต่เขียนไว้ที่แผ่นดวงใจมนุษย์
3being revealed that you are a letter of Christ, served by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone, but in tablets that are hearts of flesh.
4และเรามีความไว้ใจในพระเจ้าโดยพระคริสต์อย่างนั้น
4Such confidence we have through Christ toward God;
5มิใช่เราจะคิดถือว่าสิ่งหนึ่งสิ่งใดเกิดจากความสามารถของเราเอง แต่ว่าความสามารถของเรามาจากพระเจ้า
5not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God;
6พระองค์จึงทรงโปรดประทานให้เราสามารถเป็นผู้ปฏิบัติได้ตามพันธสัญญาใหม่ มิใช่ตามตัวอักษร แต่ตามพระวิญญาณ ด้วยว่าตัวอักษรนั้นประหารให้ตาย แต่พระวิญญาณนั้นประทานชีวิต
6who also made us sufficient as servants of a new covenant; not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
7แต่ถ้าการปฏิบัติที่นำไปถึงความตายตามตัวอักษรซึ่งได้เขียนและจารึกไว้ที่แผ่นศิลานั้น ยังมีรัศมี จนชนชาติอิสราเอลไม่สามารถจ้องมองหน้าของโมเสสได้เพราะรัศมีจากใบหน้าของท่านซึ่งเป็นรัศมีที่กำลังเสื่อมศูนย์ไป
7But if the service of death, written engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look steadfastly on the face of Moses for the glory of his face; which was passing away:
8ดังนั้นการปฏิบัติตามพระวิญญาณจะไม่มีรัศมียิ่งกว่านั้นอีกหรือ
8won’t service of the Spirit be with much more glory?
9เพราะว่าถ้าการรับใช้สำหรับปรับโทษยังมีรัศมี การรับใช้สำหรับความชอบธรรมก็ยิ่งมีรัศมีมากกว่านั้นอีก
9For if the service of condemnation has glory, the service of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.
10อันที่จริงรัศมีซึ่งได้ทรงประทานให้นั้นก็อับแสงไปแล้ว เพราะถูกรัศมีอันเลิศประเสริฐนั้นได้ส่องข่มเสียหมด
10For most certainly that which has been made glorious has not been made glorious in this respect, by reason of the glory that surpasses.
11เพราะถ้าสิ่งที่ได้จางไปยังเคยมีรัศมีถึงเพียงนั้น สิ่งซึ่งจะดำรงอยู่ก็จะมีรัศมีมากยิ่งกว่านั้นอีก
11For if that which passes away was with glory, much more that which remains is in glory.
12เมื่อเรามีความหวังอย่างนั้นแล้ว เราจึงกล้ามากขึ้นที่จะพูด
12Having therefore such a hope, we use great boldness of speech,
13และไม่เหมือนโมเสสที่เอาผ้าคลุมหน้าไว้ เพื่อไม่ให้ชนอิสราเอลเพ่งดูความเสื่อมของรัศมีที่ค่อยๆจางไปนั้น
13and not as Moses, who put a veil on his face, that the children of Israel wouldn’t look steadfastly on the end of that which was passing away.
14แต่จิตใจของเขาก็มืดบอดไป เพราะตลอดมาจนถึงทุกวันนี้ เมื่อเขาอ่านพันธสัญญาเดิม ผ้าคลุมนั้นยังคงอยู่มิได้เปิดออก แต่ผ้าคลุมนั้นได้เปิดออกแล้วโดยพระคริสต์
14But their minds were hardened, for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains, because in Christ it passes away.
15แต่ว่าตลอดมาถึงทุกวันนี้ ขณะใดที่เขาอ่านคำของโมเสส ผ้าคลุมนั้นก็ยังปิดบังใจของเขาไว้
15But to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.
16แต่เมื่อผู้ใดหันกลับมาหาองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ผ้าคลุมนั้นก็จะเปิดออก
16But whenever one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
17บัดนี้องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงเป็นพระวิญญาณนั้น และพระวิญญาณขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงอยู่ที่ไหน เสรีภาพก็มีอยู่ที่นั่น
17Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18แต่เราทั้งหลายไม่มีผ้าคลุมหน้าไว้ จึงแลดูสง่าราศีขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเหมือนมองดูในกระจก และตัวเราก็เปลี่ยนไปเป็นเหมือนพระฉายขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าคือมีสง่าราศีเป็นลำดับขึ้นไป เช่นอย่างสง่าราศีที่มาจากพระวิญญาณขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
18But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit.
