1In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah, king of Judah, Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria for seventeen years.
2พระองค์ทรงกระทำสิ่งที่ชั่วช้าในสายพระเนตรของพระเยโฮวาห์ และกระทำตามบาปทั้งหลายของเยโรโบอัมบุตรชายเนบัท ซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงกระทำให้อิสราเอลทำบาปด้วย พระองค์หาได้พรากจากสิ่งเหล่านั้นไม่
2He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin; he didn’t depart from it.
3และพระพิโรธของพระเยโฮวาห์ก็พลุ่งขึ้นต่ออิสราเอล และพระองค์ทรงมอบเขาทั้งหลายไว้ในมือของฮาซาเอลกษัตริย์แห่งซีเรีย และในมือของเบฮาดัดโอรสของฮาซาเอลเนืองๆ
3The anger of Yahweh was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, continually.
4แล้วเยโฮอาหาสได้วิงวอนพระเยโฮวาห์ และพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงสดับท่าน เพราะพระองค์ทรงเห็นการบีบบังคับอิสราเอล คือที่กษัตริย์แห่งซีเรียบีบบังคับเขาอย่างไร
4Jehoahaz begged Yahweh, and Yahweh listened to him; for he saw the oppression of Israel, how that the king of Syria oppressed them.
5(เพราะฉะนั้นพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงประทานผู้ช่วยผู้หนึ่งแก่อิสราเอล เขาจึงรอดพ้นจากมือคนซีเรีย และประชาชนอิสราเอลก็อาศัยอยู่ในเต็นท์เขาอย่างเดิม
5(Yahweh gave Israel a savior, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians; and the children of Israel lived in their tents as before.
6ถึงกระนั้นเขาก็มิได้พรากจากบาปทั้งหลายของราชวงศ์เยโรโบอัม ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงกระทำให้อิสราเอลทำด้วย แต่ทรงดำเนินในบาปนั้น และเสารูปเคารพก็ยังคงอยู่ในสะมาเรียด้วย)
6Nevertheless they didn’t depart from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, with which he made Israel to sin, but walked therein: and there remained the Asherah also in Samaria.)
7เพราะมิได้เหลือกองทัพไว้ให้เยโฮอาหาสเกินกว่าทหารม้าห้าสิบคน และรถรบสิบคัน และทหารราบหนึ่งหมื่นคน เพราะกษัตริย์แห่งซีเรียได้ทำลายเขาทั้งหลายเสีย ทำให้เหมือนละอองเวลานวดข้าว
7For he didn’t leave to Jehoahaz of the people any more than fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria destroyed them, and made them like the dust in threshing.
8ส่วนพระราชกิจนอกนั้นของเยโฮอาหาส และบรรดาสิ่งซึ่งพระองค์ทรงกระทำ และยุทธพลังของพระองค์ มิได้บันทึกไว้ในหนังสือพงศาวดารแห่งกษัตริย์ประเทศอิสราเอลหรือ
8Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
9และเยโฮอาหาสทรงล่วงหลับไปอยู่กับบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์ และเขาฝังไว้ในสะมาเรีย และโยอาชโอรสของพระองค์ขึ้นครองแทนพระองค์
9Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son reigned in his place.
10ในปีที่สามสิบเจ็ดแห่งรัชกาลโยอาชกษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ เยโฮอาชโอรสเยโฮอาหาสได้เริ่มครอบครองเหนืออิสราเอลในสะมาเรีย และพระองค์ทรงครอบครองสิบหกปี
10In the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah, Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz began to reign over Israel in Samaria for sixteen years.
11พระองค์ทรงกระทำสิ่งที่ชั่วร้ายในสายพระเนตรของพระเยโฮวาห์ พระองค์มิได้พรากจากบรรดาบาปของเยโรโบอัมบุตรชายเนบัท ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงกระทำให้อิสราเอลทำด้วย แต่พระองค์ทรงดำเนินในบาปนั้น
11He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh; he didn’t depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin; but he walked therein.
12ส่วนพระราชกิจนอกนั้นของโยอาช และบรรดาสิ่งซึ่งพระองค์ทรงกระทำ และยุทธพลังซึ่งพระองค์ทรงสู้รบกับอามาซิยาห์กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ มิได้บันทึกไว้ในหนังสือพงศาวดารแห่งกษัตริย์ประเทศอิสราเอลหรือ
12Now the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, and his might with which he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
13โยอาชจึงทรงล่วงหลับไปอยู่กับบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์ และเยโรโบอัมทรงประทับบนบัลลังก์ของพระองค์ และเขาฝังพระศพโยอาชไว้ในสะมาเรียกับกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอล
13Joash slept with his fathers; and Jeroboam sat on his throne: and Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
14เมื่อเอลีชาล้มป่วยด้วยโรคที่ท่านจะต้องสิ้นชีวิต โยอาชกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลได้เสด็จลงไปหาท่าน และกันแสงต่อหน้าท่าน ตรัสว่า "โอ บิดาของข้า บิดาของข้า ราชรถของอิสราเอล และพลม้าของประเทศ"
14Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness of which he died: and Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over him, and said, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!”
15และเอลีชาทูลพระองค์ว่า "ขอทรงเอาคันธนูและลูกธนูมา" พระองค์จึงทรงเอาคันธนูและลูกธนูมา
15Elisha said to him, “Take bow and arrows”; and he took to him bow and arrows.
16แล้วท่านทูลกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลว่า "ขอทรงหยิบธนู" และพระองค์ทรงหยิบมา และเอลีชาเอามือของตนวางบนพระหัตถ์ของกษัตริย์
16He said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow”; and he put his hand on it. Elisha laid his hands on the king’s hands.
17และท่านทูลว่า "ขอทรงเปิดหน้าต่างด้านตะวันออก" และพระองค์ทรงเปิด แล้วเอลีชาทูลว่า "ขอทรงยิง" และพระองค์ก็ทรงยิง และท่านทูลว่า "ลูกธนูแห่งการช่วยให้รอดพ้นของพระเยโฮวาห์ ลูกธนูแห่งการช่วยให้รอดพ้นจากซีเรีย เพราะพระองค์จะทรงต่อสู้กับคนซีเรียที่อาเฟก จนกว่าพระองค์จะทรงกระทำให้เขาสิ้นไป"
17He said, “Open the window eastward”; and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot!” and he shot. He said, “Yahweh’s arrow of victory, even the arrow of victory over Syria; for you shall strike the Syrians in Aphek, until you have consumed them.”
18และท่านทูลว่า "ขอทรงหยิบลูกธนู" และพระองค์ทรงหยิบมัน และท่านทูลกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลว่า "เอาลูกธนูตีพื้นดิน" และพระองค์ทรงตีสามครั้งแล้วทรงหยุดเสีย
18He said, “Take the arrows”; and he took them. He said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground”; and he struck three times, and stopped.
19แล้วคนแห่งพระเจ้าก็โกรธพระองค์ และทูลว่า "พระองค์ควรจะได้ตีสักห้าหรือหกครั้ง แล้วพระองค์จะได้ตีซีเรียจนกว่าพระองค์จะทรงกระทำให้เขาสิ้นไป แต่บัดนี้พระองค์จะตีซีเรียได้เพียงสามครั้งเท่านั้น"
19The man of God was angry with him, and said, “You should have struck five or six times. Then you would have struck Syria until you had consumed it, whereas now you shall strike Syria just three times.”
20และเอลีชาสิ้นชีวิต เขาก็ฝังไว้ ฝ่ายหมู่คนโมอับเคยปล้นแผ่นดินนั้นในฤดูแล้ง
20Elisha died, and they buried him. Now the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.
21อยู่มาเมื่อเขากำลังส่งศพคนหนึ่งไป ดูเถิด เขาเห็นโจรหมู่หนึ่ง เขาจึงโยนศพชายคนนั้นลงไปในอุโมงค์ของเอลีชา พอศพชายคนนั้นลงไปแตะต้องกระดูกของเอลีชา เขาก็คืนชีวิตลุกขึ้นยืน
21It happened, as they were burying a man, that behold, they spied a band; and they cast the man into the tomb of Elisha: and as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
22ฝ่ายฮาซาเอลกษัตริย์แห่งซีเรียได้บีบบังคับคนอิสราเอลอยู่ตลอดรัชกาลของเยโฮอาหาส
22Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.
23แต่พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงพระกรุณาต่อเขา และทรงเมตตาเขา และพระองค์ทรงหันมาทางเขาเพราะพันธสัญญาของพระองค์กับอับราฮัม อิสอัค และยาโคบ และจะไม่ทรงทำลายเขาหรือทอดทิ้งเขาเสียให้พ้นพระพักตร์จนบัดนี้
23But Yahweh was gracious to them, and had compassion on them, and had respect to them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.
24เมื่อฮาซาเอลกษัตริย์แห่งซีเรียสิ้นพระชนม์ เบนฮาดัดโอรสของพระองค์ได้ขึ้นครองแทนพระองค์
24Hazael king of Syria died; and Benhadad his son reigned in his place.
25แล้วเยโฮอาชโอรสของเยโฮอาหาสได้ยึดบรรดาหัวเมืองจากพระหัตถ์เบฮาดัดบุตรชายฮาซาเอลกลับคืนมา เป็นหัวเมืองที่พระองค์ตีไปได้จากพระหัตถ์เยโฮอาหาสพระชนกของพระองค์เมื่อทำสงครามกัน โยอาชได้รบชนะพระองค์สามครั้งและได้หัวเมืองอิสราเอลกลับคืนมา
25Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Joash struck him three times, and recovered the cities of Israel.
