¹In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah Ahaz the son of Jotham king of Judah began to reign.

²อาหัสมีพระชนมายุยี่สิบพรรษาเมื่อพระองค์ทรงเริ่มครองราชย์ และพระองค์ทรงครองราชย์ในกรุงเยรูซาเล็มสิบหกปี และพระองค์มิได้ทรงกระทำสิ่งที่ถูกต้องในสายพระเนตรของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของพระองค์ ดังดาวิดบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์ได้ทรงกระทำ

²Twenty years old was Ahaz when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and he didn’t do that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh his God, like David his father.

³แต่พระองค์ทรงดำเนินตามทางของกษัตริย์ทั้งหลายแห่งอิสราเอล และถวายโอรสของพระองค์ให้ลุยไฟ ตามการกระทำอันน่าสะอิดสะเอียนของประชาชาติ ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงขับไล่ออกไปจากเบื้องหน้าประชาชนอิสราเอล

³But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yes, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the nations, whom Yahweh cast out from before the children of Israel.

⁴และพระองค์ทรงถวายสัตวบูชาและเผาเครื่องหอมบนปูชนียสถานสูง และในเนินสูง และใต้ต้นไม้สีเขียวทุกต้น

⁴He sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.

⁵แล้วเรซีนกษัตริย์แห่งซีเรียและเปคาห์บุตรชายเรมาลิยาห์กษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลทรงยกขึ้นมาทำสงครามกับกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และกษัตริย์ทั้งสองได้ล้อมอาหัสไว้ แต่ทรงเอาชัยชนะยังไม่ได้

⁵Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him.

⁶คราวนั้นเรซีนกษัตริย์แห่งซีเรียได้เข้ายึดเมืองเอลัทคืนให้ซีเรีย และทรงขับไล่พวกยิวเสียจากเอลัท และคนซีเรียมาที่เอลัท และอยู่ที่นั่นจนทุกวันนี้

⁶At that time Rezin king of Syria recovered Elath to Syria, and drove the Jews from Elath; and the Syrians came to Elath, and lived there, to this day.

⁷อาหัสจึงทรงส่งผู้สื่อสารไปยังทิกลัทปิเลเสอร์กษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรียว่า "ข้าพเจ้าเป็นคนใช้ของท่าน และเป็นบุตรของท่าน ขอเชิญขึ้นมาช่วยข้าพเจ้าให้พ้นจากมือของกษัตริย์แห่งซีเรีย และจากมือของกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอล ผู้ซึ่งลุกขึ้นต่อสู้ข้าพเจ้า"

⁷So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria, saying, “I am your servant and your son. Come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, who rise up against me.”

⁸อาหัสทรงนำเอาเงินและทองคำซึ่งมีอยู่ในพระนิเวศแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์ และในคลังสำนักพระราชวัง และส่งเป็นของกำนัลถวายแก่กษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรีย

⁸Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of Yahweh, and in the treasures of the king’s house, and sent it for a present to the king of Assyria.

⁹กษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรียก็ทรงฟังพระองค์ กษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรียก็ทรงยกทัพขึ้นไปยังดามัสกัสและยึดได้ จับประชาชนเมืองนั้นไปเป็นเชลยยังเมืองคีร์ และทรงประหารเรซีนเสีย

⁹The king of Assyria listened to him; and the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried its people captive to Kir, and killed Rezin.

¹⁰เมื่อกษัตริย์อาหัสเสด็จไปดามัสกัสเพื่อพบกับทิกลัทปิเลเสอร์กษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรียก็ทรงเห็นแท่นบูชาที่ดามัสกัส และกษัตริย์อาหัสทรงส่งหุ่นแท่นบูชาไปยังอุรียาห์ปุโรหิตพร้อมทั้งแบบแปลนตามลักษณะการสร้าง

¹⁰King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria, and saw the altar that was at Damascus; and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the fashion of the altar, and its pattern, according to all its workmanship.

¹¹และอุรียาห์ปุโรหิตก็ได้สร้างแท่นบูชานั้นตามแบบทุกประการซึ่งกษัตริย์อาหัสได้ส่งมาจากดามัสกัส อุรียาห์ปุโรหิตจึงได้สร้างแท่นบูชานั้นก่อนที่กษัตริย์อาหัสเสด็จจากดามัสกัสมาถึง

¹¹Urijah the priest built an altar: according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus, so Urijah the priest made it for the coming of king Ahaz from Damascus.

¹²และเมื่อกษัตริย์เสด็จจากดามัสกัสถึงแล้ว กษัตริย์ก็ทรงเห็นแท่นบูชา แล้วกษัตริย์ทรงเข้ามาใกล้แท่นบูชาเสด็จขึ้นถวายบนนั้น

¹²When the king had come from Damascus, the king saw the altar: and the king drew near to the altar, and offered on it.

¹³และทรงเผาเครื่องเผาบูชาของพระองค์ และธัญญบูชาของพระองค์ และทรงเทเครื่องดื่มบูชาของพระองค์ และทรงพรมเลือดเครื่องสันติบูชาของพระองค์ลงบนแท่นนั้น

¹³He burnt his burnt offering and his meal offering, and poured his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings, on the altar.

¹⁴และพระองค์ทรงย้ายแท่นบูชาทองสัมฤทธิ์ ซึ่งอยู่ต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์ออกเสียจากข้างหน้าพระนิเวศ จากสถานที่ระหว่างแท่นบูชาและพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ และตั้งไว้ทางด้านเหนือแห่งแท่นบูชานั้น

¹⁴The bronze altar, which was before Yahweh, he brought from the forefront of the house, from between his altar and the house of Yahweh, and put it on the north side of his altar.

¹⁵King Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, “On the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening meal offering, and the king’s burnt offering, and his meal offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their meal offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle on it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice; but the bronze altar shall be for me to inquire by.”

¹⁶อุรียาห์ปุโรหิตได้กระทำการเหล่านี้ทั้งสิ้นตามพระบัญชาของกษัตริย์อาหัส

¹⁶Urijah the priest did so, according to all that king Ahaz commanded.

¹⁷และกษัตริย์อาหัสทรงตัดแผงแท่นนั้นออก และทรงยกขันออกไปจากแท่นเสีย และพระองค์ทรงเอาขันสาครลงมาเสียจากวัวทองสัมฤทธิ์ที่รองอยู่นั้น ทรงวางไว้บนพื้นก้อนหิน

¹⁷King Ahaz cut off the panels of the bases, and removed the basin from off them, and took down the sea from off the bronze oxen that were under it, and put it on a pavement of stone.

¹⁸The covered way for the Sabbath that they had built in the house, and the king’s entry outside, turned he to the house of Yahweh, because of the king of Assyria.

¹⁹ส่วนพระราชกิจนอกนั้นของอาหัส ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงกระทำ มิได้บันทึกไว้ในหนังสือพงศาวดารแห่งกษัตริย์ประเทศยูดาห์หรือ

¹⁹Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

²⁰และอาหัสทรงล่วงหลับไปอยู่กับบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์ และเขาฝังไว้กับบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์ในนครดาวิด และเฮเซคียาห์โอรสของพระองค์ขึ้นครอบครองแทนพระองค์

²⁰Ahaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his place.
