1ในวันเหล่านั้นเฮเซคียาห์ทรงประชวรใกล้จะสิ้นพระชนม์ และผู้พยากรณ์อิสยาห์บุตรชายของอามอสเข้ามาเฝ้าพระองค์ และทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า `จงจัดการบ้านการเมืองของเจ้าให้เรียบร้อย เจ้าจะต้องตาย เจ้าจะไม่ฟื้น'"
1In those days was Hezekiah sick to death. Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said to him, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘Set your house in order; for you shall die, and not live.’”
2แล้วเฮเซคียาห์ทรงหันพระพักตร์เข้าข้างฝา และอธิษฐานต่อพระเยโฮวาห์ว่า
2Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed to Yahweh, saying,
3"ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ ข้าพระองค์ขอวิงวอนต่อพระองค์ ขอทรงระลึกว่า ข้าพระองค์ดำเนินอยู่ต่อเบื้องพระพักตร์พระองค์ด้วยความจริงและด้วยใจที่เพียบพร้อม และได้กระทำสิ่งที่ประเสริฐในสายพระเนตรของพระองค์มาอย่างไร" และเฮเซคียาห์ทรงกันแสงอย่างปวดร้าว
3“Remember now, Yahweh, I beg you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight.” Hezekiah wept bitterly.
4และอยู่มาก่อนที่อิสยาห์จะออกไปถึงลาน พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มาถึงท่านว่า
4It happened, before Isaiah had gone out into the middle part of the city, that the word of Yahweh came to him, saying,
5"จงกลับไปบอกเฮเซคียาห์เจ้านายแห่งประชาชนของเราว่า พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของดาวิดบรรพบุรุษของเจ้า ตรัสดังนี้ว่า `เราได้ยินคำอธิษฐานของเจ้าแล้ว เราได้เห็นน้ำตาของเจ้าแล้ว ดูเถิด เราจะรักษาเจ้า ในวันที่สามเจ้าจะขึ้นไปยังพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์
5“Turn back, and tell Hezekiah the prince of my people, ‘Thus says Yahweh, the God of David your father, “I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day, you shall go up to the house of Yahweh.
6และเราจะเพิ่มชีวิตของเจ้าอีกสิบห้าปี เราจะช่วยเจ้าและเมืองนี้พ้นจากมือของกษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรีย และจะป้องกันเมืองนี้ไว้ เพื่อเห็นแก่เราเอง และเพื่อเห็นแก่ดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของเรา'"
6I will add to your days fifteen years. I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.”’”
7และอิสยาห์บอกว่า "เอาขนมมะเดื่อมาอันหนึ่ง" เขาก็เอามาวางไว้บนพระยอดนั้น พระองค์จึงทรงหายเป็นปกติ
7Isaiah said, “Take a cake of figs.” They took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.
8และเฮเซคียาห์ตรัสกับอิสยาห์ว่า "อะไรจะเป็นหมายสำคัญว่าพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงรักษาข้าพเจ้า และว่าข้าพเจ้าจะได้ขึ้นไปยังพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ในวันที่สาม"
8Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “What shall be the sign that Yahweh will heal me, and that I shall go up to the house of Yahweh the third day?”
9และอิสยาห์ทูลว่า "ต่อไปนี้เป็นหมายสำคัญสำหรับพระองค์จากพระเยโฮวาห์ ที่พระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงกระทำตามที่พระองค์ทรงตรัสไว้ คือว่า จะให้เงาคืบหน้าไปสิบขั้น หรือย้อนกลับมาสิบขั้น"
9Isaiah said, “This shall be the sign to you from Yahweh, that Yahweh will do the thing that he has spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps?”
10เฮเซคียาห์ตรัสตอบว่า "เป็นการง่ายที่เงาจะยาวออกไปอีกสิบขั้น แต่ให้เงาย้อนกลับมาสิบขั้นต่างหาก"
10Hezekiah answered, “It is a light thing for the shadow to go forward ten steps. Nay, but let the shadow return backward ten steps.”
11และอิสยาห์ผู้พยากรณ์ก็ร้องทูลต่อพระเยโฮวาห์ และพระองค์ทรงนำเงาย้อนกลับมาสิบขั้น ซึ่งเงานั้นได้เลยไปในนาฬิกาแดดของอาหัส
11Isaiah the prophet cried to Yahweh; and he brought the shadow ten steps backward, by which it had gone down on the dial of Ahaz.
12คราวนั้น เบโรดัคบาลาดันโอรสของบาลาดันกษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลนทรงส่งราชสารและเครื่องบรรณาการมายังเฮเซคียาห์ เพราะพระองค์ทรงได้ยินว่า เฮเซคียาห์ทรงประชวร
12At that time Berodach Baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah; for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.
13และเฮเซคียาห์ได้ทรงต้อนรับเขา และพระองค์ทรงพาเขาชมคลังทรัพย์ทั้งหมดของพระองค์ ให้ชมเงิน ทองคำ และเครื่องเทศ และน้ำมันประเสริฐ และคลังพระแสงของพระองค์ทุกอย่างซึ่งมีในท้องพระคลัง ไม่มีสิ่งใดที่ในพระราชวังหรือในราชอาณาจักรของพระองค์ทั้งสิ้นซึ่งเฮเซคียาห์มิได้สำแดงแก่เขา
13Hezekiah listened to them, and showed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious oil, and the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah didn’t show them.
14แล้วอิสยาห์ผู้พยากรณ์ก็เข้าเฝ้ากษัตริย์เฮเซคียาห์ และทูลพระองค์ว่า "คนเหล่านี้ทูลอะไรบ้าง และเขามาเฝ้าพระองค์แต่ไหน" และเฮเซคียาห์ตรัสว่า "เขาได้มาจากเมืองไกล จากบาบิโลน"
14Then Isaiah the prophet came to king Hezekiah, and said to him, “What did these men say? From where did they come to you?” Hezekiah said, “They have come from a far country, even from Babylon.”
15ท่านทูลว่า "เขาเห็นอะไรในพระราชวังของพระองค์บ้าง" และเฮเซคียาห์ตรัสตอบว่า "เขาเห็นทุกอย่างในวังของเรา ไม่มีสิ่งใดในพระคลังของเราซึ่งเรามิได้สำแดงแก่เขา"
15He said, “What have they seen in your house?” Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house. There is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.”
16แล้วอิสยาห์ทูลเฮเซคียาห์ว่า "ขอทรงฟังพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์
16Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of Yahweh.
17ดูเถิด วันเวลากำลังย่างเข้ามาเมื่อสรรพสิ่งทั้งสิ้นในวังของเจ้า และสิ่งซึ่งบรรพบุรุษของเจ้าได้สะสมจนถึงทุกวันนี้ จะต้องถูกเอาไปยังบาบิโลน ไม่มีสิ่งใดเหลือเลย พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ
17‘Behold, the days come, that all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have laid up in store to this day, shall be carried to Babylon. Nothing shall be left,’ says Yahweh.
18และลูกบางคนซึ่งถือกำเนิดจากเจ้า ผู้ซึ่งเกิดมาแก่เจ้า จะถูกนำเอาไป และเขาจะเป็นขันทีในวังของกษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลน"
18‘Of your sons who shall issue from you, whom you shall father, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’”
19แล้วเฮเซคียาห์ตรัสกับอิสยาห์ว่า "พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์ซึ่งท่านกล่าวนั้นก็ดีอยู่" เพราะพระองค์ดำริว่า "ก็ดีแล้วมิใช่หรือ ในเมื่อมีความอยู่เย็นเป็นสุขและความจริงในวันเวลาของเรา"
19Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The word of Yahweh which you have spoken is good.” He said moreover, “Isn’t it so, if peace and truth shall be in my days?”
20ส่วนพระราชกิจนอกนั้นของเฮเซคียาห์ และยุทธพลังทั้งสิ้นของพระองค์ และที่พระองค์ทรงสร้างสระและรางระบายน้ำนำน้ำเข้ามาในกรุงอย่างไร มิได้บันทึกไว้ในหนังสือพงศาวดารแห่งกษัตริย์ประเทศยูดาห์หรือ
20Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made the pool, and the conduit, and brought water into the city, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
21และเฮเซคียาห์ทรงล่วงหลับไปอยู่กับบรรพบุรุษของพระองค์ และมนัสเสห์โอรสของพระองค์ขึ้นครอบครองแทนพระองค์
21Hezekiah slept with his fathers; and Manasseh his son reigned in his place.
