1อยู่มาเมื่อกษัตริย์เฮเซคียาห์ทรงได้ยิน พระองค์ก็ทรงฉีกฉลองพระองค์เสีย และทรงเอาผ้ากระสอบคลุมพระองค์ และเสด็จเข้าไปในพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์
1It happened, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he tore his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of Yahweh.
2และพระองค์ทรงใช้เอลียาคิม ผู้บัญชาการราชสำนัก และเชบนาห์ราชเลขา และพวกปุโรหิตใหญ่ คลุมตัวด้วยผ้ากระสอบ ไปหาอิสยาห์ผู้พยากรณ์บุตรชายของอามอส
2He sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
3เขาทั้งหลายเรียนท่านว่า "เฮเซคียาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า `วันนี้เป็นวันทุกข์ใจ วันถูกติเตียนและหมิ่นประมาท เด็กก็ถึงกำหนดคลอด แต่ไม่มีกำลังเบ่งให้คลอด
3They said to him, “Thus says Hezekiah, ‘This day is a day of trouble, of rebuke, and of rejection; for the children have come to the point of birth, and there is no strength to deliver them.
4ชะรอยพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านคงจะสดับบรรดาถ้อยคำของรับชาเคห์ ผู้ซึ่งกษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรียนายของเขาได้สั่งมาให้เย้ยพระเจ้าผู้ทรงพระชนม์ และจะทรงขนาบถ้อยคำซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านได้ทรงสดับ เพราะฉะนั้นขอท่านถวายคำอธิษฐานเพื่อส่วนชนที่เหลืออยู่นี้'"
4It may be Yahweh your God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to defy the living God, and will rebuke the words which Yahweh your God has heard. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.’”
5ดังนั้นข้าราชการของกษัตริย์เฮเซคียาห์มาถึงอิสยาห์
5So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
6อิสยาห์ก็บอกเขาทั้งหลายว่า "จงทูลนายของท่านเถิดว่า พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า `อย่ากลัวเพราะถ้อยคำที่เจ้าได้ยินนั้น ซึ่งข้าราชการของกษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรียได้กล่าวหยาบช้าต่อเรา
6Isaiah said to them, “Thus you shall tell your master, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “Don’t be afraid of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
7ดูเถิด เราจะบรรจุจิตใจอย่างหนึ่งในเขา เพื่อเขาจะได้ยินข่าวลือ และกลับไปยังแผ่นดินของเขา และเราจะให้เขาล้มลงด้วยดาบในแผ่นดินของเขาเอง'"
7Behold, I will put a spirit in him, and he will hear news, and will return to his own land. I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.”’”

8So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah; for he had heard that he had departed from Lachish.
9และเมื่อกษัตริย์ทรงได้ยินเรื่องทีรหะคาห์กษัตริย์แห่งเอธิโอเปียว่า "ดูเถิด เขาได้ยกออกมาสู้รบกับพระองค์แล้ว" พระองค์จึงส่งผู้สื่อสารไปเฝ้าเฮเซคียาห์ทูลว่า
9When he heard it said of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, “Behold, he has come out to fight against you, he sent messengers again to Hezekiah, saying,
10"เจ้าจงพูดกับเฮเซคียาห์กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ดังนี้ว่า `อย่าให้พระเจ้าของท่านซึ่งท่านวางใจนั้นลวงท่านว่า "เยรูซาเล็มจะมิได้ถูกมอบไว้ในมือของกษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรีย"
10‘Thus you shall speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, “Don’t let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, Jerusalem will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
11ดูเถิด ท่านได้ยินแล้วว่า บรรดากษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรียได้กระทำอะไรกับแผ่นดินทั้งสิ้นบ้าง ทำลายเสียหมดอย่างสิ้นเชิง ส่วนท่านเองจะรับการช่วยให้พ้นหรือ
11Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly. Will you be delivered?
12บรรดาพระของบรรดาประชาชาติได้ช่วยเขาให้รอดพ้นหรือ คือประชาชาติซึ่งบรรพบุรุษของเราได้ทำลาย คือโกซาน ฮาราน เรเซฟ และประชาชนของเอเดนซึ่งอยู่ในเทลอัสสาร์
12Have the gods of the nations delivered them, which my fathers have destroyed, Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden that were in Telassar?
13กษัตริย์ของฮามัท กษัตริย์ของอารปัด กษัตริย์ของเมืองเสฟารวาอิม เฮนาและอิฟวาห์อยู่ที่ไหน'"
13Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivvah?”’”
14เฮเซคียาห์ทรงรับจดหมายจากมือของผู้สื่อสาร และทรงอ่าน และเฮเซคียาห์ได้ขึ้นไปยังพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ และทรงคลี่จดหมายนั้นออกต่อเบื้องพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์
14Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it. Then Hezekiah went up to the house of Yahweh, and spread it before Yahweh.
15และเฮเซคียาห์ทรงอธิษฐานต่อเบื้องพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์ว่า "ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ผู้ทรงประทับระหว่างพวกเครูบ พระองค์ทรงเป็นพระเจ้าแห่งบรรดาราชอาณาจักรของแผ่นดินโลก พระองค์แต่องค์เดียว พระองค์ได้ทรงสร้างฟ้าสวรรค์และแผ่นดินโลก
15Hezekiah prayed before Yahweh, and said, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, who sit above the cherubim, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.
16ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ ขอทรงเงี่ยพระกรรณสดับ ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ ขอทรงเบิกพระเนตรทอดพระเนตร และขอทรงสดับถ้อยคำของเซนนาเคอริบ ซึ่งเขาได้ใช้มาเย้ยพระเจ้าผู้ทรงพระชนม์
16Incline your ear, Yahweh, and hear. Open your eyes, Yahweh, and see. Hear the words of Sennacherib, with which he has sent to defy the living God.
17ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ เป็นความจริงที่กษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรียได้กระทำแก่ประชาชาติทั้งหลายและแผ่นดินของประชาชาตินั้นร้างเปล่า
17Truly, Yahweh, the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their lands,
18และได้เหวี่ยงพระของประชาชาตินั้นเข้าไฟ เพราะเขามิใช่พระ เป็นแต่ผลงานของมือมนุษย์ เป็นไม้และหิน เพราะฉะนั้นเขาจึงถูกทำลายเสีย
18and have cast their gods into the fire; for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone. Therefore they have destroyed them.
19ฉะนั้นบัดนี้ ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลาย ขอทรงช่วยข้าพระองค์ให้พ้นมือของเขา เพื่อราชอาณาจักรทั้งสิ้นแห่งแผ่นดินโลกจะทราบว่า พระองค์ทรงเป็นพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแต่พระองค์เดียว"
19Now therefore, Yahweh our God, save us, I beg you, out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, Yahweh, are God alone.”
20แล้วอิสยาห์บุตรชายอามอสได้ใช้ให้ไปเฝ้าเฮเซคียาห์ทูลว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลตรัสดังนี้ว่า เราได้ยินคำอธิษฐานของเจ้าเรื่องเซนนาเคอริบกษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรียแล้ว
20Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘Whereas you have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, I have heard you.
21ต่อไปนี้เป็นพระวจนะที่พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสเกี่ยวกับท่านนั้นว่า `ธิดาพรหมจารีแห่งศิโยนดูหมื่นเจ้า และหัวเราะเยาะเย้ยเจ้า ธิดาแห่งเยรูซาเล็มสั่นศีรษะใส่เจ้า
21This is the word that Yahweh has spoken concerning him: “The virgin daughter of Zion has despised you and ridiculed you. The daughter of Jerusalem has shaken her head at you.
22เจ้าเย้ยและกล่าวหยาบช้าต่อผู้ใด เจ้าขึ้นเสียงของเจ้าต่อผู้ใด แล้วเบิ่งตาของเจ้าอย่างเย่อหยิ่งต่อผู้ใด ต่อองค์บริสุทธิ์แห่งอิสราเอลน่ะซิ
22Whom have you defied and blasphemed? Against whom have you exalted your voice and lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel.
23เจ้าได้เย้ยองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าด้วยผู้สื่อสารของเจ้า และเจ้าได้ว่า "ด้วยรถรบเป็นอันมากของข้า ข้าได้ขึ้นไปที่สูงของภูเขา ถึงที่ไกลสุดของเลบานอน ข้าจะโค่นต้นสนสีดาร์ที่สูงที่สุดของมันลง ทั้งต้นสนสามใบที่ดีที่สุดของมัน ข้าจะเข้าไปในที่พำนักในชายแดนของมัน และที่ป่าไม้แห่งคารเมล
23By your messengers you have defied the Lord, and have said, ‘With the multitude of my chariots, I have come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Lebanon; and I will cut down its tall cedars, and its choice fir trees; and I will enter into his farthest lodging place, the forest of his fruitful field.
24ข้าขุดบ่อและดื่มน้ำต่างด้าว ข้าเอาฝ่าเท้าของข้ากวาดธารน้ำทั้งสิ้นของสถานที่ที่ถูกล้อมโจมตีให้แห้งไป"
24I have dug and drunk strange waters, and with the sole of my feet will I dry up all the rivers of Egypt.’
25เจ้าไม่ได้ยินหรือว่า เราได้จัดไว้นานแล้ว เราได้กะแผนงานไว้แต่ดึกดำบรรพ์ ณ บัดนี้เราให้เป็นไปแล้ว คือเจ้าจะทำเมืองที่มีป้อมให้พังลงให้เป็นกองสิ่งสลักหักพัง
25Haven’t you heard how I have done it long ago, and formed it of ancient times? Now have I brought it to pass, that it should be yours to lay waste fortified cities into ruinous heaps.
26ส่วนชาวเมืองนั้นมีอำนาจน้อย เขาสะดุ้งกลัวและอับอาย เขาเหมือนหญ้าที่ทุ่งนา และเหมือนหญ้าอ่อน เหมือนหญ้าที่บนยอดหลังคาเรือน เหมือนข้าวเกรียมไปก่อนที่มันจะงอกงามอย่างนั้น
26Therefore their inhabitants were of small power. They were dismayed and confounded. They were like the grass of the field, and like the green herb, like the grass on the housetops, and like grain blasted before it has grown up.
27แต่เราได้รู้จักการที่เจ้านั่งลงกับการออกไปและเข้ามาของเจ้า และการเกรี้ยวกราดของเจ้าต่อเรา
27But I know your sitting down, and your going out, and your coming in, and your raging against me.
28เพราะเจ้าได้เกรี้ยวกราดต่อเรา และความจองหองของเจ้าได้มาเข้าหูของเรา ฉะนั้นเราจะเอาขอของเราเกี่ยวจมูกเจ้า และบังเหียนของเราใส่ริมฝีปากเจ้า และเราจะหันเจ้ากลับไปตามทางซึ่งเจ้ามานั้น
28Because of your raging against me, and because your arrogance has come up into my ears, therefore will I put my hook in your nose, and my bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way by which you came.”
29และนี่จะเป็นหมายสำคัญแก่เจ้า คือปีนี้เจ้าจะกินสิ่งที่งอกขึ้นเอง และในปีที่สองสิ่งที่ผลิจากเดิม แล้วในปีที่สาม จงหว่านและเกี่ยว และปลูกสวนองุ่นและกินผลของมัน
29“‘This shall be the sign to you: You shall eat this year that which grows of itself, and in the second year that which springs of the same; and in the third year sow, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat its fruit.
30ส่วนที่รอดและเหลือแห่งวงศ์วานของยูดาห์จะหยั่งรากลงไป และเกิดผลขึ้นบน
30The remnant that has escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.
31เพราะว่าส่วนคนที่เหลือจะออกไปจากเยรูซาเล็ม และส่วนที่รอดมาจะออกมาจากภูเขาศิโยน ความกระตือรือร้นของพระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาจะกระทำการนี้'
31For out of Jerusalem a remnant will go out, and out of Mount Zion those who shall escape. The zeal of Yahweh will perform this.’
32เพราะฉะนั้นพระเยโฮวาห์จึงตรัสเกี่ยวกับกษัตริย์แห่งอัลซีเรียดังนี้ว่า `ท่านจะไม่เข้าในนครนี้หรือยิงลูกธนูไปที่นั่น หรือถือโล่เข้ามาข้างหน้านคร หรือสร้างเชิงเทินสู้มัน
32“Therefore thus says Yahweh concerning the king of Assyria, ‘He shall not come to this city, nor shoot an arrow there, neither shall he come before it with shield, nor cast up a mound against it.
33ท่านมาทางใด ท่านจะต้องกลับไปทางนั้น ท่านจะไม่เข้ามาในนครนี้ พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ
33By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and he shall not come to this city,’ says Yahweh.
34เพราะเราจะป้องกันนครนี้ไว้เพื่อให้รอด เพื่อเห็นแก่เราเอง และเห็นแก่ดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของเรา'"
34‘For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.’”
35และอยู่มาในคืนนั้นทูตสวรรค์ของพระเยโฮวาห์ได้ออกไป และได้ประหารคนในค่ายแห่งคนอัสซีเรียเสียหนึ่งแสนแปดหมื่นห้าพันคน และเมื่อคนลุกขึ้นในเวลาเช้ามืด ดูเถิด พวกเหล่านั้นเป็นศพทั้งนั้น
35It happened that night, that the angel of Yahweh went out, and struck one hundred eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians. When men arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.
36แล้วเซนนาเคอริบกษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรียก็ได้ยกไป และกลับบ้าน และอยู่ในนีนะเวห์
36So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and lived at Nineveh.
37และอยู่มาเมื่อท่านนมัสการในนิเวศของพระนิสโรกพระของท่าน อัดรัมเมเลคและชาเรเซอร์โอรสของท่านประหารท่านเสียด้วยดาบ และหนีไปยังแผ่นดินอาร์มีเนีย และเอสารฮัดโดนโอรสของท่านขึ้นครอบครองแทนท่าน
37It happened, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer struck him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Esar Haddon his son reigned in his place.
