¹นาอามานผู้บัญชาการกองทัพของกษัตริย์ประเทศซีเรียเป็นคนสำคัญมากของกษัตริย์ เป็นคนมีเกียรติ เพราะว่าพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงนำชัยชนะมายังซีเรียโดยท่านนี้ ท่านเป็นวีรบุรุษด้วย แต่ท่านเป็นโรคเรื้อน

¹Now Naaman, captain of the army of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him Yahweh had given victory to Syria: he was also a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper.

²ฝ่ายคนซีเรียยกพวกไปปล้นครั้งหนึ่งนั้น ได้จับเด็กหญิงคนหนึ่งมาจากแผ่นดินอิสราเอลมาเป็นเชลย และเธอมาปรนนิบัติภรรยาของนาอามาน

²The Syrians had gone out in bands, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maiden; and she waited on Naaman’s wife.

³เธอได้เรียนนายผู้หญิงของเธอว่า "อยากให้เจ้านายของดิฉันไปอยู่กับผู้พยากรณ์ผู้ซึ่งอยู่ในสะมาเรีย ท่านจะได้รักษาโรคเรื้อนของเจ้านายเสียให้หาย"

³She said to her mistress, “I wish that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! Then he would heal him of his leprosy.”

⁴นาอามานจึงไปทูลกษัตริย์เจ้านายของท่านว่า "สาวใช้จากแผ่นดินอิสราเอลพูดว่าอย่างนั้นๆ"

⁴Someone went in, and told his lord, saying, “The maiden who is from the land of Israel said this.”

⁵กษัตริย์แห่งซีเรียตรัสว่า "จงไปเถิด เราจะส่งสารไปยังกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอล" แล้วท่านก็ไป นำเงินหนักสิบตะลันต์ ทองคำหนักหกพันเชเขล และเสื้อสิบชุดไปด้วย

⁵The king of Syria said, “Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel.” He departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of clothing.

⁶และท่านก็นำสารไปยังกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลใจความว่า "เมื่อสารนี้มาถึงท่าน ดูเถิด ข้าพเจ้าได้ส่งนาอามานข้าราชการของข้าพเจ้ามา เพื่อขอให้ท่านรักษาเขาให้หายจากโรคเรื้อน"

⁶He brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, “Now when this letter has come to you, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may heal him of his leprosy.”

⁷และอยู่มาเมื่อกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลทรงอ่านสารนั้นแล้ว พระองค์ก็ทรงฉีกฉลองพระองค์ตรัสว่า "เราเป็นพระเจ้าซึ่งจะให้ตายและให้มีชีวิตหรือ ชายคนนี้จึงส่งสารมาให้เรารักษาคนหนึ่งที่เป็นโรคเรื้อน ขอใคร่ครวญดูเถิดว่า เขาแสวงหาเหตุพิพาทกับเราอย่างไร"

⁷It happened, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he tore his clothes, and said, “Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends to me to heal a man of his leprosy? But please consider and see how he seeks a quarrel against me.”

⁸แต่เมื่อเอลีชาคนแห่งพระเจ้าได้ยินว่ากษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลได้ทรงฉีกฉลองพระองค์ จึงใช้คนไปทูลกษัตริย์ว่า "ไฉนพระองค์จึงทรงฉีกฉลองพระองค์ของพระองค์เสีย ขอให้เขามาหาข้าพระองค์เถิด เพื่อเขาจะได้ทราบว่า มีผู้พยากรณ์คนหนึ่งในอิสราเอล"

⁸It was so, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, “Why have you torn your clothes? Let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.”

⁹นาอามานจึงมาพร้อมกับบรรดาม้าและรถรบของท่าน มาหยุดอยู่ที่ประตูเรือนของเอลีชา

⁹So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariots, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.

¹⁰เอลีชาก็ส่งผู้สื่อสารมาเรียนท่านว่า "ขอจงไปชำระตัวในแม่น้ำจอร์แดนเจ็ดครั้ง และเนื้อของท่านจะกลับคืนเป็นอย่างเดิม และท่านจะสะอาด"

¹⁰Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall come again to you, and you shall be clean.”

¹¹แต่นาอามานก็โกรธและไปเสีย บ่นว่า "ดูเถิด ข้าคิดว่าเขาจะออกมาหาข้าเป็นแน่ และมายืนอยู่และออกพระนามของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเขา แล้วโบกมือเหนือที่นั้นให้โรคเรื้อนหาย

¹¹But Naaman was angry, and went away, and said, “Behold, I thought, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of Yahweh his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leper.’

¹²อาบานาและฟารปาร์แม่น้ำเมืองดามัสกัสไม่ดีกว่าบรรดาลำน้ำแห่งอิสราเอลดอกหรือ ข้าจะชำระตัวในแม่น้ำเหล่านั้นและจะสะอาดไม่ได้หรือ" ท่านจงหันตัวแล้วไปเสียด้วยความเดือดดาล

¹²Aren’t Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them, and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage.

¹³แต่พวกข้าราชการของท่านเข้ามาใกล้และเรียนท่านว่า "คุณพ่อของข้าพเจ้า ถ้าท่านผู้พยากรณ์จะสั่งให้ท่านกระทำสิ่งใหญ่โตประการหนึ่ง ท่านจะไม่กระทำหรือ ถ้าเช่นนั้นเมื่อท่านผู้พยากรณ์กล่าวแก่ท่านว่า `จงไปล้างและสะอาดเถิด' ควรท่านจะทำยิ่งขึ้นเท่าใด"

¹³His servants came near, and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had asked you do some great thing, wouldn’t you have done it? How much rather then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean?’”

¹⁴ท่านจึงลงไปจุ่มตัวเจ็ดครั้งในแม่น้ำจอร์แดนตามถ้อยคำของคนแห่งพระเจ้า และเนื้อของท่านก็กลับคืนเป็นอย่างเนื้อเด็กเล็กๆ และท่านก็สะอาด

¹⁴Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

¹⁵แล้วท่านจึงกลับไปยังคนแห่งพระเจ้า ทั้งตัวท่านและพรรคพวกของท่าน และท่านมายืนอยู่ข้างหน้าเอลีชาและท่านกล่าวว่า "ดูเถิด บัดนี้ข้าพเจ้าทราบแล้วว่าไม่มีพระเจ้าทั่วไปในโลกนอกจากที่ในอิสราเอล เพราะฉะนั้นบัดนี้ขอท่านรับของกำนัลสักอย่างหนึ่งจากผู้รับใช้ของท่านเถิด"

¹⁵He returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him; and he said, “See now, I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel. Now therefore, please take a gift from your servant.”

¹⁶แต่ท่านตอบว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์ซึ่งข้าพเจ้าปรนนิบัติทรงพระชนม์อยู่แน่ฉันใด ข้าพเจ้าจะไม่รับสิ่งใดเลยฉันนั้น" และท่านก็ได้ชักชวนให้รับไว้แต่เอลีชาได้ปฏิเสธ

¹⁶But he said, “As Yahweh lives, before whom I stand, I will receive none.” He urged him to take it; but he refused.

¹⁷แล้วนาอามานจึงกล่าวว่า "มิฉะนั้นขอท่านได้โปรดให้ดินบรรทุกล่อสักสองตัวให้แก่ผู้รับใช้ของท่านเถิด เพราะตั้งแต่นี้ไปผู้รับใช้ของท่านจะไม่ถวายเครื่องเผาบูชาหรือเครื่องสัตวบูชาแด่พระอื่น แต่จะถวายแด่พระเยโฮวาห์เท่านั้น

¹⁷Naaman said, “If not, then, please let two mules’ burden of earth be given to your servant; for your servant will from now on offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice to other gods, but to Yahweh.

¹⁸ในเรื่องนี้ขอพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงโปรดให้อภัยแก่ผู้รับใช้ของท่าน ในเมื่อนายของข้าพเจ้าไปในนิเวศของพระริมโมนเพื่อจะนมัสการที่นั่น ทรงพิงอยู่ที่มือของข้าพเจ้า และข้าพเจ้าจะต้องโน้มคำนับในนิเวศของพระริมโมน เมื่อข้าพเจ้าโน้มตัวลงในนิเวศของพระริมโมนนั้น ขอพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงให้อภัยแก่ผู้รับใช้ของท่านในกรณีนี้"

¹⁸In this thing may Yahweh pardon your servant: when my master goes into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon. When I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, may Yahweh pardon your servant in this thing.”

¹⁹เอลีชาจึงตอบท่านว่า "จงไปโดยสันติภาพเถิด" แต่เมื่อนาอามานออกไปได้ไม่ไกลนัก

¹⁹He said to him, “Go in peace.” So he departed from him a little way.

²⁰เกหะซีคนใช้ของเอลีชาคนแห่งพระเจ้าคิดว่า "ดูเถิด นายของข้าพเจ้าไม่ยอมรับจากมือของนาอามานคนซีเรียซึ่งของที่ท่านนำมา พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงพระชนม์อยู่แน่ฉันใด ข้าพเจ้าจะวิ่งตามไปเอามาจากเขาบ้าง"

²⁰But Gehazi the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, “Behold, my master has spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought. As Yahweh lives, I will run after him, and take something from him.”

²¹เกหะซีจึงตามนาอามานไป และเมื่อนาอามานแลเห็นว่ามีคนวิ่งตามท่านมา ท่านก็ลงจากรถรบต้อนรับเขาพูดว่า "ทุกอย่างเรียบร้อยดีหรือ"

²¹So Gehazi followed after Naaman. When Naaman saw one running after him, he came down from the chariot to meet him, and said, “Is all well?”

²²เขาตอบว่า "เรียบร้อยดี นายของข้าพเจ้าใช้ข้าพเจ้ามา กล่าวว่า `ดูเถิด มีชายหนุ่มสองคนในเหล่าศิษย์แห่งผู้พยากรณ์ มาจากแดนเทือกเขาเอฟราอิม ขอท่านโปรดให้เงินแก่เขาทั้งหลายสักหนึ่งตะลันต์และเสื้อสักสองชุด'"

²²He said, “All is well. My master has sent me, saying, ‘Behold, even now two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the hill country of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of clothing.’”

²³และนาอามานกล่าวว่า "ขอโปรดรับไปสองตะลันต์เถิด" ท่านก็เชิญชวนเขา และเอาเงินสองตะลันต์ใส่กระสอบผูกไว้ พร้อมกับเสื้อสองตัว ให้คนใช้สองคนแบกไป เขาก็แบกเดินขึ้นหน้าเกหะซีมา

²³Naaman said, “Be pleased to take two talents.” He urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of clothing, and laid them on two of his servants; and they carried them before him.

²⁴เมื่อเขามาถึงภูเขา เกหะซีก็รับมาจากมือของเขาทั้งสอง เอาไปเก็บไว้ในเรือนและให้คนเหล่านั้นกลับ เขาทั้งสองก็จากไป

²⁴When he came to the hill, he took them from their hand, and stored them in the house. Then he let the men go, and they departed.

²⁵เกหะซีก็เข้าไปยืนอยู่ต่อหน้านายของตน และเอลีชาถามเขาว่า "เกหะซี เจ้าไปไหนมา" เขาตอบว่า "ผู้รับใช้ของท่านไม่ได้ไปไหน"

²⁵But he went in, and stood before his master. Elisha said to him, “Where did you come from, Gehazi?” He said, “Your servant went nowhere.”

²⁶แต่ท่านกล่าวแก่เขาว่า "เมื่อชายคนนั้นหันมาจากรถรบต้อนรับเจ้านั้น จิตใจของเรามิได้ไปกับเจ้าดอกหรือ นั่นเป็นเวลาควรที่จะรับเงิน รับเสื้อผ้า สวนต้นมะกอกเทศ และสวนองุ่น แกะและวัว และคนใช้ชายหญิงหรือ

²⁶He said to him, “Didn’t my heart go with you, when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and olive groves and vineyards, and sheep and cattle, and male servants and female servants?

²⁷ฉะนั้นโรคเรื้อนของนาอามานจะติดอยู่ที่เจ้าและที่เชื้อสายของเจ้าเป็นนิตย์" เขาก็ออกไปจากหน้าท่านเป็นโรคเรื้อนขาวอย่างหิมะ

²⁷Therefore the leprosy of Naaman will cling to you and to your seed forever.” He went out from his presence a leper, as white as snow.
