¹ถ้อยคำของอาโมส ผู้อยู่ในหมู่ผู้เลี้ยงแกะในเมืองเทโคอา ซึ่งท่านได้เห็นเกี่ยวกับอิสราเอล ในรัชกาลอุสซียาห์ กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ และในรัชกาลเยโรโบอัม ราชโอรสของโยอาช กษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอล ก่อนแผ่นดินไหวสองปี

¹The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

²ท่านกล่าวว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงเปล่งพระสิงหนาทจากศิโยน และจะทรงเปล่งพระสุรเสียงของพระองค์จากเยรูซาเล็ม ลานหญ้าของผู้เลี้ยงแกะจะโศกเศร้า และยอดภูเขาคารเมลก็จะเหี่ยวไป"

²He said: “Yahweh “Yahweh” is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered “LORD” (all caps) in other translations. will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the pastures of the shepherds will mourn, and the top of Carmel will wither.”

³พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า "เพราะเหตุการละเมิดของดามัสกัส สามครั้งและสี่ครั้ง เราจะไม่ยอมกลับการลงทัณฑ์ เพราะว่าเขาทั้งหลายได้นวดกิเลอาดด้วยเลื่อนเหล็กสำหรับนวดข้าว

³Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Damascus, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron;

⁴แต่ เราจะส่งไฟเข้ามาในเรือนของฮาซาเอล ซึ่งจะเผาผลาญปราสาททั้งหลายของเบนฮาดัดเสีย

⁴but I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, and it will devour the palaces of Ben Hadad.

⁵เราจะหักดาลประตูเมืองดามัสกัส และตัดผู้ที่อาศัยอยู่ออกเสียจากที่ราบอาเวน และผู้นั้นที่ถือคทาจากวงศ์วานของเอเดน และประชาชนซีเรียจะต้องตกไปเป็นเชลยยังเมืองคีร์" พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ

⁵I will break the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the valley of Aven, and him who holds the scepter from the house of Eden; and the people of Syria shall go into captivity to Kir,” says Yahweh.

⁶พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า "เพราะเหตุการละเมิดของกาซา สามครั้งและสี่ครั้ง เราจะไม่ยอมกลับการลงทัณฑ์ เพราะเขากวาดประชาชนทั้งหมดไปเป็นเชลย เพื่อจะมอบให้แก่เอโดม

⁶Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Gaza, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they carried away captive the whole community, to deliver them up to Edom;

⁷แต่ เราจะส่งไฟมาบนกำแพงเมืองกาซา ซึ่งจะเผาผลาญปราสาททั้งหลายของเมืองนั้นเสีย

⁷but I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, and it will devour its palaces.

⁸เราจะตัดผู้ที่อาศัยอยู่ออกเสียจากอัชโดด และผู้ที่ถือคทาออกจากเมืองอัชเคโลน เราจะหันมือของเราต่อสู้เอโครน ชาวฟีลิสเตียที่เหลืออยู่จะพินาศ" องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้แหละ

⁸I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon; and I will turn my hand against Ekron; and the remnant of the Philistines will perish,” says the Lord The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” Yahweh.

⁹พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า "เพราะเหตุการละเมิดของเมืองไทระ สามครั้งและสี่ครั้ง เราจะไม่ยอมกลับการลงทัณฑ์ เพราะเขาได้มอบประชาชนทั้งหมดให้แก่เอโดม และไม่ได้ระลึกถึงพันธสัญญาแห่งภราดรภาพ

⁹Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Tyre, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they delivered up the whole community to Edom, and didn’t remember the brotherly covenant;

¹⁰แต่ เราจะส่งไฟมาบนกำแพงเมืองไทระ ซึ่งจะเผาผลาญปราสาททั้งหลายของเมืองนั้นเสีย"

¹⁰but I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, and it will devour its palaces.”

¹¹พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า "เพราะเหตุการละเมิดของเมืองเอโดม สามครั้งและสี่ครั้ง เราจะไม่ยอมกลับการลงทัณฑ์ เพราะเขาได้ไล่ตามน้องของเขาด้วยดาบ และสลัดความสงสารทิ้งเสียสิ้น ความโกรธของเขาบั่นทอนอยู่ตลอดกาล และความพิโรธของเขาก็มีอยู่เป็นนิตย์

¹¹Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Edom, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because he pursued his brother with the sword, and cast off all pity, and his anger raged continually, and he kept his wrath forever;

¹²แต่ เราจะส่งไฟมาบนเมืองเทมาน ซึ่งจะเผาผลาญปราสาททั้งหลายของเมืองโบสราห์"

¹²but I will send a fire on Teman, and it will devour the palaces of Bozrah.”

¹³พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า "เพราะเหตุการละเมิดของคนอัมโมน สามครั้งและสี่ครั้ง เราจะไม่ยอมกลับการลงทัณฑ์ เพราะว่าเขาได้ผ่าท้องหญิงมีครรภ์ในเมืองกิเลอาด เพื่อจะขยายอาณาเขตของตน

¹³Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they have ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead, that they may enlarge their border.

¹⁴แต่ เราจะจุดไฟขึ้นในกำแพงเมืองรับบาห์ และไฟจะเผาผลาญปราสาททั้งหลายของเมืองนั้นเสีย พร้อมด้วยเสียงโห่ร้องในวันทำศึก พร้อมด้วยพายุอันแรงกล้าในวันที่มีลมบ้าหมู

¹⁴But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it will devour its palaces, with shouting in the day of battle, with a storm in the day of the whirlwind;

¹⁵กษัตริย์ของเขาทั้งหลายจะตกไปเป็นเชลย ทั้งตัวท่านและเจ้านายของท่านด้วย" พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ

¹⁵and their king will go into captivity, he and his princes together,” says Yahweh.
