1โอ คนอิสราเอลเอ๋ย จงฟังพระวจนะนี้ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกล่าวโทษท่านทั้งหลาย คือกล่าวโทษหมดทั้งครอบครัวซึ่งเราได้นำออกจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ว่า
1Hear this word that Yahweh has spoken against you, children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up out of the land of Egypt, saying:
2"ในบรรดาครอบครัวทั้งสิ้นในโลกนี้ เจ้าเท่านั้นที่เรารู้จัก ดังนั้นเราจึงจะลงโทษเจ้าเพราะความชั่วช้าทั้งสิ้นของเจ้า
2“You only have I chosen of all the families of the earth. Therefore I will punish you for all of your sins.”
3สองคนจะเดินไปด้วยกันได้หรือนอกจากทั้งสองจะได้ตกลงกันไว้ก่อน
3Do two walk together, unless they have agreed?
4สิงโตจะแผดเสียงดังอยู่ในป่าเมื่อมันไม่มีเหยื่อหรือ ถ้าสิงโตหนุ่มจับสัตว์อะไรไม่ได้เลย มันจะร้องออกมาจากถ้ำของมันหรือ
4Will a lion roar in the thicket, when he has no prey? Does a young lion cry out of his den, if he has caught nothing?
5ถ้าไม่มีเหยื่อล่อไว้ นกจะลงมาติดกับบนดินได้หรือ ถ้าไม่มีอะไรเข้าไปติดกับ กับจะลั่นขึ้นจากดินได้หรือ
5Can a bird fall in a trap on the earth, where no snare is set for him? Does a snare spring up from the ground, when there is nothing to catch?
6เขาจะเป่าแตรในเมือง และประชาชนไม่ตกใจกลัวอะไรหรือ จะมีภัยตกอยู่ในเมืองหนึ่งเมืองใดหรือ นอกจากว่าพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงกระทำเอง
6Does the trumpet alarm sound in a city, without the people being afraid? Does evil happen to a city, and Yahweh hasn’t done it?
7แท้จริงองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าจะมิได้ทรงกระทำอะไรเลย โดยมิได้เปิดเผยความลึกลับให้แก่ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ คือผู้พยากรณ์
7Surely the Lord Yahweh will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets.
8สิงโตแผดเสียงร้องแล้ว ผู้ใดจะไม่กลัวบ้าง องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสแล้ว จะมีผู้ใดที่จะไม่พยากรณ์หรือ"
8The lion has roared. Who will not fear? The Lord Yahweh has spoken. Who can but prophesy?
9จงประกาศในปราสาททั้งหลายที่อัชโดด และในปราสาททั้งหลายในแผ่นดินอียิปต์ และกล่าวว่า "จงประชุมกันบนภูเขาแห่งสะมาเรีย และพินิจดูความโกลาหลอันยิ่งใหญ่มากมายและผู้ที่ถูกกดขี่ทั้งหลายท่ามกลางเมืองนั้น"
9Proclaim in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, “Assemble yourselves on the mountains of Samaria, and see what unrest is in her, and what oppression is among them.”
10พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า "เพราะเขาไม่รู้จักที่จะกระทำให้ถูกต้อง คือผู้ที่ส่ำสมความรุนแรงและการโจรกรรมไว้ในปราสาททั้งหลายของเขา"
10“Indeed they don’t know to do right,” says Yahweh, “Who hoard plunder and loot in their palaces.”
11เพราะฉะนั้น องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าจึงตรัสดังนี้ว่า "จะมีปฏิปักษ์ผู้หนึ่งมาล้อมแผ่นดินไว้ และเขาจะบั่นทอนขุมกำลังเสียจากเจ้า และปราสาททั้งหลายของเจ้าจะถูกปล้น"
11Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: “An adversary will overrun the land; and he will pull down your strongholds, and your fortresses will be plundered.”
12พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า "ผู้เลี้ยงแกะชิงเอาขาสองขาหรือหูชิ้นหนึ่งมาจากปากสิงโตได้ฉันใด คนอิสราเอลผู้อยู่ที่มุมหนึ่งของเตียงในสะมาเรีย และบนที่นอนในดามัสกัสจะได้รับการช่วยให้พ้นได้ฉันนั้น"
12Thus says Yahweh: “As the shepherd rescues out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear, so shall the children of Israel be rescued who sit in Samaria on the corner of a couch, and on the silken cushions of a bed.”
13องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้า พระเจ้าจอมโยธาตรัสว่า "ฟังซิ และเป็นพยานกล่าวโทษวงศ์วานของยาโคบเถิด
13“Listen, and testify against the house of Jacob,” says the Lord Yahweh, the God of Armies.
14ว่าในวันที่เราทำโทษอิสราเอลเรื่องการละเมิดของเขา เราจะทำโทษแท่นบูชาทั้งหลายของเมืองเบธเอลด้วย เชิงงอนที่แท่นบูชานั้นจะถูกตัดออกและตกลงที่ดิน
14“For in the day that I visit the transgressions of Israel on him, I will also visit the altars of Bethel; and the horns of the altar will be cut off, and fall to the ground.
15เราจะโจมตีเรือนพักฤดูหนาวพร้อมกับเรือนพักฤดูร้อน และเรือนที่ทำด้วยงาช้างจะพินาศ และเรือนใหญ่ๆทั้งสิ้นจะสูญสิ้นไป" พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ
15I will strike the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory will perish, and the great houses will have an end,” says Yahweh.
