¹Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother,

²to the saints and faithful brothers The word for “brothers” here and where context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” in Christ at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

³We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

⁴ตั้งแต่เราได้ยินถึงความเชื่อของท่านในพระเยซูคริสต์และเรื่องความรักซึ่งท่านมีต่อวิสุทธิชนทั้งปวง

⁴having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which you have toward all the saints,

⁵โดยเหตุซึ่งมีความหวังอันสะสมไว้สำหรับท่านในสวรรค์ซึ่งเมื่อก่อนท่านเคยได้ยินมาแล้วในพระคำแห่งความจริงของข่าวประเสริฐ

⁵because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the Good News,

⁶which has come to you; even as it is in all the world and is bearing fruit and growing, as it does in you also, since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth;

⁷even as you learned of Epaphras our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on our behalf,

⁸who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.

⁹เพราะเหตุนี้พวกเราเหมือนกัน นับตั้งแต่วันที่เราได้ยิน ก็ไม่ได้หยุดในการที่จะอธิษฐานขอเพื่อท่าน และปรารถนาให้ท่านเต็มไปด้วยความรู้ถึงพระประสงค์ของพระองค์ในสรรพปัญญาและในความเข้าใจฝ่ายจิตวิญญาณ

⁹For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, don’t cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

¹⁰เพื่อท่านจะได้ประพฤติอย่างที่สมควรต่อองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ตามบรรดาความชอบ ให้เกิดผลในการดีทุกอย่าง และจำเริญขึ้นในความรู้ถึงพระเจ้า

¹⁰that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

¹¹มีกำลังมากขึ้นทุกอย่างโดยฤทธิ์เดชแห่งสง่าราศีของพระองค์ ให้มีบรรดาความเพียร และความอดทนไว้นานด้วยความยินดี

¹¹strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy;

¹²ให้ขอบพระคุณพระบิดา ผู้ทรงทำให้เราทั้งหลายสมกับที่จะเข้าส่วนได้รับมรดกด้วยกันกับวิสุทธิชนในความสว่าง

¹²giving thanks to the Father, who made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light;

¹³พระองค์ได้ทรงช่วยเราให้พ้นจากอำนาจของความมืด และได้ทรงย้ายเรามาตั้งไว้ในอาณาจักรแห่งพระบุตรที่รักของพระองค์

¹³who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love;

¹⁴ในพระบุตรนั้นเราจึงได้รับการไถ่โดยพระโลหิตของพระองค์ คือเป็นการทรงโปรดยกบาปทั้งหลายของเรา

¹⁴in whom we have our redemption, TR adds “through his blood,” the forgiveness of our sins;

¹⁵who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

¹⁶For by him all things were created, in the heavens and on the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and for him.

¹⁷พระองค์ทรงดำรงอยู่ก่อนสรรพสิ่งทั้งปวง และสรรพสิ่งทั้งปวงเป็นระเบียบอยู่โดยพระองค์

¹⁷He is before all things, and in him all things are held together.

¹⁸พระองค์ทรงเป็นศีรษะของกายคือคริสตจักร พระองค์ทรงเป็นที่เริ่มต้น เป็นบุตรหัวปีที่ทรงเป็นขึ้นมาจากความตาย เพื่อพระองค์จะได้ทรงเป็นเอกในสรรพสิ่งทั้งปวง

¹⁸He is the head of the body, the assembly, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

¹⁹ด้วยว่าเป็นที่ชอบพระทัยพระบิดาที่จะให้ความบริบูรณ์ทั้งสิ้นมีอยู่ในพระองค์

¹⁹For all the fullness was pleased to dwell in him;

²⁰และโดยพระองค์นั้นให้สิ่งสารพัดกลับคืนดีกับพระองค์เอง โดยพระองค์นั้นข้าพเจ้าพูดได้ว่า ไม่ว่าสิ่งนั้นจะอยู่ในแผ่นดินโลกหรือในท้องฟ้า พระองค์ทรงทำให้มีสันติภาพโดยพระโลหิตแห่งกางเขนของพระองค์

²⁰and through him to reconcile all things to himself, by him, whether things on the earth, or things in the heavens, having made peace through the blood of his cross.

²¹และพวกท่านซึ่งเมื่อก่อนนี้ไม่ถูกกันและเป็นศัตรูในใจด้วยการชั่วต่างๆ บัดนี้ พระองค์ทรงโปรดให้คืนดีกับพระองค์

²¹You, being in past times alienated and enemies in your mind in your evil works,

²²โดยความตายแห่งพระกายเนื้อหนังของพระองค์เพื่อจะได้ถวายท่านให้เป็นผู้บริสุทธิ์ ไร้ตำหนิและไร้ข้อกล่าวหาในสายพระเนตรของพระองค์

²²yet now he has reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and without blemish and blameless before him,

²³คือถ้าท่านดำรงและตั้งมั่นอยู่ในความเชื่อ และไม่โยกย้ายไปจากความหวังในข่าวประเสริฐซึ่งท่านได้ยินแล้ว และที่ได้ประกาศแล้วแก่มนุษย์ทุกคนที่อยู่ใต้ฟ้า ซึ่งข้าพเจ้าเปาโลเป็นผู้รับใช้ในการนั้น

²³if it is so that you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the Good News which you heard, which is being proclaimed in all creation under heaven; of which I, Paul, was made a servant.

²⁴บัดนี้ข้าพเจ้ามีความยินดีในการที่ได้รับความทุกข์ยากเพื่อท่าน ส่วนการทนทุกข์ของพระคริสต์ที่ยังขาดอยู่นั้น ข้าพเจ้าก็รับทนจนสำเร็จในเนื้อหนังของข้าพเจ้าเพราะเห็นแก่พระกายของพระองค์คือคริสตจักร

²⁴Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the assembly;

²⁵ข้าพเจ้าได้ถูกตั้งให้เป็นผู้รับใช้ตามที่พระเจ้าได้ทรงโปรดมอบภาระให้ข้าพเจ้าเพื่อท่าน เพื่อจะให้พระวจนะของพระเจ้าสำเร็จ

²⁵of which I was made a servant, according to the stewardship of God which was given me toward you, to fulfill the word of God,

²⁶คือข้อความลึกลับซึ่งซ่อนเร้นอยู่หลายยุคและหลายชั่วอายุนั้น แต่บัดนี้ได้ทรงโปรดให้เป็นที่ประจักษ์แก่วิสุทธิชนของพระองค์แล้ว

²⁶the mystery which has been hidden for ages and generations. But now it has been revealed to his saints,

²⁷พระเจ้าทรงชอบพระทัยที่จะสำแดงให้คนต่างชาติรู้ว่า อะไรเป็นความมั่งคั่งของสง่าราศีแห่งข้อลึกลับนี้คือที่พระคริสต์ทรงสถิตในท่านอันเป็นที่หวังแห่งสง่าราศี

²⁷to whom God was pleased to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory;

²⁸พระองค์นั้นแหละเราประกาศอยู่ โดยเตือนสติทุกคนและสั่งสอนทุกคนโดยใช้สติปัญญาทุกอย่าง เพื่อเราจะได้ถวายทุกคนให้เป็นผู้ใหญ่แล้วในพระเยซูคริสต์

²⁸whom we proclaim, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus;

²⁹เพราะเหตุนั้นข้าพเจ้าจึงกระทำการงานด้วย โดยความอุตสาหะตามการกระทำของพระองค์ผู้ทรงออกฤทธิ์กระทำอยู่ในตัวข้าพเจ้า

²⁹for which I also labor, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.
