¹"เหตุฉะนี้พวกท่านจงรักพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน จงรักษาพระดำรัสสั่ง กฎเกณฑ์ และคำตัดสิน และพระบัญญัติของพระองค์เสมอไป

¹Therefore you shall love Yahweh your God, and keep his instructions, and his statutes, and his ordinances, and his commandments, always.

²ท่านทั้งหลายจงทราบในวันนี้ เพราะข้าพเจ้ามิได้กล่าวกับลูกหลานของท่านทั้งหลาย ผู้ไม่ได้รู้เรื่องหรือเห็นถึงวินัยของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน ความยิ่งใหญ่ของพระองค์ พระหัตถ์อันทรงฤทธิ์ และพระกรที่เหยียดออกของพระองค์

²Know this day: for I don’t speak with your children who have not known, and who have not seen the chastisement of Yahweh your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his outstretched arm,

³ถึงการอัศจรรย์และถึงพระราชกิจของพระองค์ ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงกระทำในอียิปต์ต่อฟาโรห์กษัตริย์อียิปต์ และต่อแผ่นดินทั้งสิ้นของท่าน

³and his signs, and his works, which he did in the midst of Egypt to Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and to all his land;

⁴และซึ่งพระองค์ทรงกระทำต่อกองทัพอียิปต์ ต่อม้าของเขา และต่อรถรบของเขา และที่พระองค์ทรงกระทำให้น้ำในทะเลแดงท่วมเขาเมื่อเขาไล่ติดตามท่านทั้งหลาย และที่พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงทำลายเขาทั้งหลายจนทุกวันนี้

⁴and what he did to the army of Egypt, to their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how Yahweh has destroyed them to this day;

⁵และที่พระองค์ทรงกระทำแก่ท่านทั้งหลายในถิ่นทุรกันดาร จนท่านทั้งหลายมาถึงที่นี่

⁵and what he did to you in the wilderness, until you came to this place;

⁶และที่ทรงกระทำต่อดาธาน และอาบีรัมบุตรชายของเอลีอับ บุตรชายของรูเบน คือแผ่นดินได้อ้าปากกลืนเขาเข้าไป ทั้งครัวเรือน เต็นท์ และสิ่งมีชีวิตทุกอย่างที่ติดตามเขาไป ในท่ามกลางคนอิสราเอลทั้งปวง

⁶and what he did to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben; how the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and every living thing that followed them, in the midst of all Israel:

⁷เพราะนัยน์ตาของท่านทั้งหลายได้เห็นพระราชกิจอันยิ่งใหญ่ทั้งหมดของพระเยโฮวาห์ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงกระทำนั้น

⁷but your eyes have seen all the great work of Yahweh which he did.

⁸เหตุฉะนี้ท่านทั้งหลายจงรักษาบัญญัติทั้งสิ้นซึ่งข้าพเจ้าได้บัญชาแก่ท่านทั้งหลายในวันนี้ เพื่อท่านทั้งหลายจะเข้มแข็ง และเข้าไปยึดครองแผ่นดินซึ่งท่านทั้งหลายกำลังจะข้ามไปครอบครองนั้นมาเป็นกรรมสิทธิ์

⁸Therefore you shall keep all the commandment which I command you this day, that you may be strong, and go in and possess the land, where you go over to possess it;

⁹และเพื่อท่านจะมีชีวิตยืนนานในแผ่นดิน ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงปฏิญาณแก่บรรพบุรุษว่าจะให้แก่เขาและแก่เชื้อสายของเขา เป็นแผ่นดินที่มีน้ำนมและน้ำผึ้งไหลบริบูรณ์

⁹and that you may prolong your days in the land, which Yahweh swore to your fathers to give to them and to their seed, a land flowing with milk and honey.

¹⁰เพราะว่าแผ่นดินซึ่งท่านทั้งหลายกำลังเข้าไปยึดครองนั้น ไม่เหมือนแผ่นดินอียิปต์ ซึ่งท่านได้จากมา ในที่นั้นท่านหว่านพืชและเอาเท้ารดน้ำเหมือนเป็นสวนผัก

¹⁰For the land, where you go in to possess it, isn’t as the land of Egypt, that you came out from, where you sowed your seed, and watered it with your foot, as a garden of herbs;

¹¹แต่แผ่นดินซึ่งท่านจะไปยึดครองนั้น เป็นแผ่นดินที่มีเนินเขาและหุบเขา ซึ่งมีน้ำฝนจากฟ้ารดอยู่

¹¹but the land, where you go over to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys which drinks water of the rain of the sky,

¹²เป็นแผ่นดินซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านทั้งหลายทรงดูแล พระเนตรของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านอยู่เหนือแผ่นดินนั้นเสมอ ตั้งแต่ต้นปีจนถึงสิ้นปี

¹²a land which Yahweh your God cares for: the eyes of Yahweh your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year even to the end of the year.

¹³ต่อมาถ้าท่านทั้งหลายจะเชื่อฟังบัญญัติของข้าพเจ้าซึ่งข้าพเจ้าบัญชาท่านไว้ในวันนี้ ให้รักพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านทั้งหลายและปรนนิบัติพระองค์ด้วยสุดจิตสุดใจของท่าน

¹³It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to my commandments which I command you this day, to love Yahweh your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

¹⁴`เราจะให้ฝนตกบนแผ่นดินของเจ้าตามฤดูกาล คือฝนต้นฤดูและฝนชุกปลายฤดู เพื่อเจ้าทั้งหลายจะได้เก็บพืชผล น้ำองุ่น และน้ำมัน

¹⁴that I will give the rain of your land in its season, the former rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, and your new wine, and your oil.

¹⁵และเราจะให้หญ้าในทุ่งสำหรับฝูงสัตว์ของเจ้า และเจ้าจะได้รับประทานอิ่มหนำ'

¹⁵I will give grass in your fields for your livestock, and you shall eat and be full.

¹⁶จงระวังตัวอย่าให้จิตใจของท่านทั้งหลายลุ่มหลงและหันเหไปปรนนิบัตินมัสการพระอื่น

¹⁶Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

¹⁷และพระเยโฮวาห์จึงทรงกริ้วต่อท่าน ปิดฟ้าสวรรค์ไม่ให้ฝนตก และแผ่นดินก็ไม่งอกพืชผล และท่านทั้งหลายจะพินาศจากแผ่นดินดีซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ประทานแก่ท่านนั้นเสียอย่างรวดเร็ว

¹⁷and the anger of Yahweh be kindled against you, and he shut up the sky, so that there shall be no rain, and the land shall not yield its fruit; and you perish quickly from off the good land which Yahweh gives you.

¹⁸เหตุฉะนั้นท่านทั้งหลายจงจดจำถ้อยคำเหล่านี้ของข้าพเจ้าไว้ในจิตในใจของท่านทั้งหลาย จงเอาถ้อยคำเหล่านี้พันไว้ที่มือของท่านเป็นหมายสำคัญ จงเป็นดังเครื่องหมายระหว่างนัยน์ตาของท่าน

¹⁸Therefore you shall lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul; and you shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for symbols between your eyes.

¹⁹และท่านจงสอนถ้อยคำเหล่านี้แก่ลูกหลานของท่านทั้งหลาย จงพูดถึงถ้อยคำเหล่านี้เมื่อท่านนั่งอยู่ในเรือน และเมื่อท่านเดินอยู่ตามทาง เมื่อท่านนอนลงหรือลุกขึ้น

¹⁹You shall teach them your children, talking of them, when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.

²⁰ท่านจงเขียนคำเหล่านี้ไว้ที่เสาประตูเรือน และที่ประตูของท่าน

²⁰You shall write them on the door posts of your house, and on your gates;

²¹เพื่ออายุของท่านและอายุของลูกหลานของท่านจะได้ยืนนานในแผ่นดิน ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงปฏิญาณที่จะประทานแก่บรรพบุรุษของท่าน ตราบเท่าบรรดาวันที่ฟ้าสวรรค์อยู่เหนือโลก

²¹that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth.

²²เพราะถ้าท่านระวังที่จะกระทำตามบัญญัติทั้งปวงซึ่งข้าพเจ้าได้บัญชาท่าน คือรักพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน ดำเนินในพระมรรคาทั้งสิ้นของพระองค์ และติดสนิทอยู่กับพระองค์แล้ว

²²For if you shall diligently keep all this commandment which I command you, to do it, to love Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cling to him;

²³พระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงขับไล่บรรดาประชาชาติเหล่านี้ให้ออกไปพ้นหน้าท่านทั้งหลาย แล้วท่านจะเข้ายึดครองแผ่นดินของประชาชาติที่ใหญ่กว่าและมีกำลังมากกว่าท่าน

²³then will Yahweh drive out all these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourselves.

²⁴ฝ่าเท้าของท่านทั้งหลายจะเหยียบลงที่ใด ที่นั่นจะเป็นของท่าน อาณาเขตของท่านจะเริ่มจากถิ่นทุรกันดารไปจนถึงเลบานอน และจากแม่น้ำคือแม่น้ำยูเฟรติสไปจนถึงทะเลตะวันตก

²⁴Every place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness, and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even to the hinder sea shall be your border.

²⁵จะไม่มีผู้ใดสามารถต่อต้านท่านได้ เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านจะทรงกระทำให้ท่านทั้งหลายเป็นที่เกรงขาม และตกใจกลัวของแผ่นดินที่ท่านทั้งหลายจะเหยียบย่ำไป ตามที่พระองค์ทรงสัญญาไว้กับท่าน

²⁵No man shall be able to stand before you: Yahweh your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you on all the land that you shall tread on, as he has spoken to you.

²⁶ดูเถิด วันนี้ข้าพเจ้าได้นำคำอวยพรและคำสาปแช่งมาไว้ตรงหน้าท่านทั้งหลาย

²⁶Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse:

²⁷ถ้าท่านเชื่อฟังพระบัญญัติของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน ซึ่งข้าพเจ้าบัญชาท่านในวันนี้ ท่านก็จะเป็นไปตามพรนั้น

²⁷the blessing, if you shall listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God, which I command you this day;

²⁸ถ้าท่านไม่เชื่อฟังพระบัญญัติของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน แต่หันเหไปเสียจากทางซึ่งข้าพเจ้าได้บัญชาท่านในวันนี้ ไปติดตามพระอื่นซึ่งท่านไม่รู้จัก ท่านก็จะเป็นไปตามคำสาปแช่งนั้น

²⁸and the curse, if you shall not listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which you have not known.

²⁹และต่อมาเมื่อพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านนำท่านเข้าไปในแผ่นดินซึ่งท่านจะเข้าไปยึดครองนั้น ท่านจงตั้งคำอวยพรไว้บนภูเขาเกริซิม และตั้งคำสาปแช่งไว้บนภูเขาเอบาล

²⁹It shall happen, when Yahweh your God shall bring you into the land where you go to possess it, that you shall set the blessing on Mount Gerizim, and the curse on Mount Ebal.

³⁰ภูเขาเหล่านี้อยู่ฟากแม่น้ำจอร์แดนข้างโน้น ไปตามทางที่ดวงอาทิตย์ตกในแผ่นดินคนคานาอัน ผู้อาศัยอยู่ในที่ราบตรงหน้ากิลกาลข้างที่ราบโมเรห์มิใช่หรือ

³⁰Aren’t they beyond the Jordan, behind the way of the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites who dwell in the Arabah, over against Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh?

³¹เพราะท่านทั้งหลายจะต้องข้ามแม่น้ำจอร์แดนไปยึดครองแผ่นดินซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านประทานแก่ท่าน และท่านจะยึดครองและอาศัยอยู่ในแผ่นดินนั้น

³¹For you are to pass over the Jordan to go in to possess the land which Yahweh your God gives you, and you shall possess it, and dwell therein.

³²ท่านจงระวังที่จะรักษากฎเกณฑ์และคำตัดสินทั้งปวงซึ่งข้าพเจ้าตั้งไว้ต่อหน้าท่านทั้งหลายในวันนี้"

³²You shall observe to do all the statutes and the ordinances which I set before you this day.
