¹"ต่อไปนี้เป็นกฎเกณฑ์และคำตัดสินซึ่งท่านจะต้องระวังที่จะกระทำตามในแผ่นดิน ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งบรรพบุรุษของท่านประทานให้ท่านยึดครองตลอดวันคืนซึ่งท่านมีชีวิตอยู่ในโลก

¹These are the statutes and the ordinances which you shall observe to do in the land which Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has given you to possess it, all the days that you live on the earth.

²ท่านทั้งหลายจงทำลายบรรดาสถานที่ซึ่งประชาชาติที่ท่านจะยึดครองนั้นใช้เป็นที่ปรนนิบัติพระของเขา ซึ่งอยู่บนภูเขาสูงและบนเนินเขา และใต้ต้นไม้เขียวสดทุกต้น

²You shall surely destroy all the places in which the nations that you shall dispossess served their gods, on the high mountains, and on the hills, and under every green tree:

³ท่านจงรื้อแท่นบูชาของเขา และทุ่มเสาศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของเขาให้แตกเป็นชิ้นๆ และเผาเสารูปเคารพของเขาเสียด้วยไฟ ท่านจงฟันทำลายรูปแกะสลักอันเป็นรูปพระของเขาเสีย และลบชื่อของพระเหล่านั้นออกเสียจากที่นั่น

³and you shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and burn their Asherim with fire; and you shall cut down the engraved images of their gods; and you shall destroy their name out of that place.

⁴ท่านทั้งหลายอย่ากระทำดังนั้นแก่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน

⁴You shall not do so to Yahweh your God.

⁵ท่านจงแสวงหาสถานที่จากเขตแดนของบรรดาตระกูลของท่าน ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านทั้งหลายจะทรงเลือก เพื่อสถาปนาพระนามของพระองค์ไว้ คือให้เป็นที่ประทับของพระองค์ ท่านทั้งหลายจงไปเฝ้าพระองค์ที่นั่น

⁵But to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose out of all your tribes, to put his name there, even to his habitation you shall seek, and there you shall come;

⁶และท่านทั้งหลายจงนำเครื่องเผาบูชาและเครื่องสัตวบูชาของท่านไปที่นั่น ทั้งสิบชักหนึ่ง และเครื่องบูชาที่จะยื่นถวาย ทั้งเครื่องบูชาปฏิญาณ เครื่องบูชาตามใจสมัคร และผลรุ่นแรกที่ได้จากฝูงวัวและฝูงแพะแกะ

⁶and there you shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the wave offering of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herd and of your flock:

⁷ท่านทั้งหลายจงรับประทานที่นั่นต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน ทั้งท่านและครอบครัวของท่านจงปีติร่าเริงในบรรดากิจการซึ่งมือท่านได้กระทำนั้น ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านอวยพระพรแก่ท่านทั้งหลาย

⁷and there you shall eat before Yahweh your God, and you shall rejoice in all that you put your hand to, you and your households, in which Yahweh your God has blessed you.

⁸ท่านทั้งหลายอย่ากระทำตามบรรดากิจการที่เรากระทำอยู่ที่นี่ทุกวันนี้ คือทุกคนทำตามอะไรก็ตามที่เขาถูกต้องในสายตาของตนเอง

⁸You shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatever is right in his own eyes;

⁹เพราะว่าท่านทั้งหลายยังไปไม่ถึงที่หยุดพักและถึงมรดก ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านประทานแก่ท่าน

⁹for you haven’t yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which Yahweh your God gives you.

¹⁰แต่เมื่อท่านข้ามแม่น้ำจอร์แดนไปแล้ว และอาศัยอยู่ในแผ่นดินซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านทั้งหลายประทานเป็นมรดกแก่ท่าน และเมื่อพระองค์โปรดให้ท่านพักพ้นศัตรูรอบข้างของท่านทั้งสิ้น ท่านจึงอยู่อย่างปลอดภัย

¹⁰But when you go over the Jordan, and dwell in the land which Yahweh your God causes you to inherit, and he gives you rest from all your enemies around you, so that you dwell in safety;

¹¹แล้วจงไปยังสถานที่ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านจะทรงเลือกไว้ ให้พระนามของพระองค์ประทับที่นั่น จงนำบรรดาสิ่งต่างๆไปด้วยซึ่งข้าพเจ้าได้บัญชาท่านทั้งหลาย คือเครื่องเผาบูชา และเครื่องสัตวบูชาของท่าน ทั้งสิบชักหนึ่ง และเครื่องบูชาที่จะยื่นถวาย ทั้งบรรดาเครื่องบูชาปฏิญาณที่ดีที่สุดซึ่งท่านได้ปฏิญาณไว้ต่อพระเยโฮวาห์

¹¹then it shall happen that to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there, there you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the wave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which you vow to Yahweh.

¹²และท่านทั้งหลายจงปีติร่าเริงต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน ทั้งตัวท่านทั้งหลายและบุตรชายบุตรสาวของท่าน ทั้งทาสชายหญิงของท่านและคนเลวีซึ่งอยู่ภายในประตูเมืองของท่าน เพราะเขาไม่มีส่วนแบ่งหรือส่วนมรดกกับท่าน

¹²You shall rejoice before Yahweh your God, you, and your sons, and your daughters, and your male servants, and your female servants, and the Levite who is within your gates, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you.

¹³ท่านทั้งหลายจงระวังให้ดีอย่าถวายเครื่องเผาบูชาตามที่ทุกแห่งซึ่งท่านเห็น

¹³Take heed to yourself that you don’t offer your burnt offerings in every place that you see;

¹⁴แต่จงถวายในสถานที่ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงเลือกในท่ามกลางตระกูลหนึ่งของท่าน ท่านจงถวายเครื่องเผาบูชาของท่านที่นั่น และที่นั่นท่านจงกระทำทุกสิ่งที่ข้าพเจ้าได้บัญชาท่านไว้

¹⁴but in the place which Yahweh shall choose in one of your tribes, there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all that I command you.

¹⁵อย่างไรก็ตาม ท่านจะฆ่าสัตว์และรับประทานเนื้อในประตูเมืองทั้งหลายของท่านตามที่ท่านปรารถนาก็ได้ ตามซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านอำนวยพระพรประทานแก่ท่านทั้งหลาย ทั้งผู้ที่สะอาดและผู้ที่มลทินก็รับประทานได้ อย่างที่รับประทานเนื้อละมั่งและเนื้อกวาง

¹⁵Notwithstanding, you may kill and eat flesh within all your gates, after all the desire of your soul, according to the blessing of Yahweh your God which he has given you: the unclean and the clean may eat of it, as of the gazelle, and as of the hart.

¹⁶แต่ท่านทั้งหลายอย่ารับประทานเลือดสัตว์เลย ท่านจงเทลงบนพื้นดินเหมือนเทน้ำ

¹⁶Only you shall not eat the blood; you shall pour it out on the earth as water.

¹⁷ส่วนสิบชักหนึ่งของพืช หรือน้ำองุ่น หรือน้ำมัน หรือลูกคอกรุ่นแรกจากฝูงวัวหรือฝูงแพะแกะ หรือของถวายปฏิญาณตามที่ท่านปฏิญาณไว้ หรือของถวายตามใจสมัคร หรือของที่ท่านนำมายื่นถวาย ท่านทั้งหลายอย่ารับประทานภายในประตูเมืองของท่าน

¹⁷You may not eat within your gates the tithe of your grain, or of your new wine, or of your oil, or the firstborn of your herd or of your flock, nor any of your vows which you vow, nor your freewill offerings, nor the wave offering of your hand;

¹⁸แต่ว่าท่านจงรับประทานของเหล่านี้ต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน ในสถานที่ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านจะทรงเลือกไว้ ทั้งตัวท่านและบุตรชายบุตรสาวของท่าน ทาสชายหญิงของท่าน และคนเลวีผู้อยู่ภายในประตูเมืองของท่าน และท่านจงปีติร่าเริงต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน ในบรรดากิจการซึ่งมือท่านได้กระทำนั้น

¹⁸but you shall eat them before Yahweh your God in the place which Yahweh your God shall choose, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your male servant, and your female servant, and the Levite who is within your gates: and you shall rejoice before Yahweh your God in all that you put your hand to.

¹⁹ท่านจงระวังอย่าทอดทิ้งคนเลวีตราบเท่าวันที่ท่านอาศัยอยู่ในโลก

¹⁹Take heed to yourself that you don’t forsake the Levite as long as you live in your land.

²⁰เมื่อพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านทรงขยายอาณาเขตของท่าน ดังที่พระองค์ทรงสัญญาไว้กับท่านแล้วนั้น และท่านกล่าวว่า `เราจะกินเนื้อสัตว์' เพราะพวกท่านอยากรับประทานเนื้อสัตว์ ท่านจะรับประทานเนื้อตามใจปรารถนาของท่านได้

²⁰When Yahweh your God shall enlarge your border, as he has promised you, and you shall say, “I want to eat meat,” because your soul desires to eat meat; you may eat meat, after all the desire of your soul.

²¹ถ้าสถานที่ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านทรงเลือกไว้ เพื่อสถาปนาพระนามของพระองค์ที่นั่นนั้นห่างจากท่านเกินไป ท่านจงฆ่าสัตว์จากฝูงวัวฝูงแพะแกะของท่านเถอะ ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงประทานแก่ท่าน ดังที่ข้าพเจ้าบัญชาท่านไว้แล้วนั้น ท่านจงรับประทานในประตูเมืองของท่านตามที่ใจของท่านปรารถนาเถิด

²¹If the place which Yahweh your God shall choose, to put his name there, is too far from you, then you shall kill of your herd and of your flock, which Yahweh has given you, as I have commanded you; and you may eat within your gates, after all the desire of your soul.

²²ท่านจะรับประทานได้อย่างที่ท่านรับประทานเนื้อละมั่งหรือเนื้อกวาง ทั้งผู้ที่มลทินและผู้ที่สะอาดด้วยก็รับประทานได้

²²Even as the gazelle and as the hart is eaten, so you shall eat of it: the unclean and the clean may eat of it alike.

²³แต่พึงแน่ใจว่าท่านไม่รับประทานเลือดสัตว์เลย เพราะว่าเลือดเป็นชีวิตของมัน ท่านอย่ารับประทานชีวิตพร้อมกับเนื้อ

²³Only be sure that you don’t eat the blood: for the blood is the life; and you shall not eat the life with the flesh.

²⁴ท่านอย่ารับประทานเลือด แต่ท่านจงเทเลือดลงบนดินอย่างเทน้ำ

²⁴You shall not eat it; you shall pour it out on the earth as water.

²⁵ท่านอย่ารับประทานเลือด เพื่อท่านเองและลูกหลานของท่านที่มาภายหลังท่านจะจำเริญเป็นสุข เมื่อท่านกระทำสิ่งที่ถูกต้องตามสายพระเนตรของพระเยโฮวาห์

²⁵You shall not eat it; that it may go well with you, and with your children after you, when you shall do that which is right in the eyes of Yahweh.

²⁶แต่สิ่งบริสุทธิ์ซึ่งเป็นส่วนกำหนดจากท่านและของปฏิญาณของท่านนั้น ท่านจงนำไปยังสถานที่ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงเลือกไว้

²⁶Only your holy things which you have, and your vows, you shall take, and go to the place which Yahweh shall choose:

²⁷และถวายเครื่องเผาบูชาทั้งเนื้อและเลือดบนแท่นบูชาของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน ท่านจงเทเลือดแห่งเครื่องสัตวบูชาลงบนแท่นบูชาของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน แต่ส่วนเนื้อนั้นท่านรับประทานได้

²⁷and you shall offer your burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, on the altar of Yahweh your God; and the blood of your sacrifices shall be poured out on the altar of Yahweh your God; and you shall eat the flesh.

²⁸จงระวังที่จะฟังบรรดาถ้อยคำเหล่านี้ซึ่งข้าพเจ้าได้บัญชาท่านไว้ เพื่อท่านเองและลูกหลานของท่านที่มาภายหลังท่านจะจำเริญเป็นนิตย์ เมื่อท่านกระทำสิ่งที่ประเสริฐและถูกต้องในสายพระเนตรของพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน

²⁸Observe and hear all these words which I command you, that it may go well with you, and with your children after you forever, when you do that which is good and right in the eyes of Yahweh your God.

²⁹เมื่อพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านจะขจัดประชาชาติซึ่งท่านเข้าไปยึดครองนั้นออกไปให้พ้นหน้าท่าน และท่านก็ยึดครองเข้าอาศัยอยู่ในแผ่นดินนั้น

²⁹When Yahweh your God shall cut off the nations from before you, where you go in to dispossess them, and you dispossess them, and dwell in their land;

³⁰จงระวังตัวว่าท่านจะไม่หลงติดตามเขา ภายหลังจากที่เขาถูกทำลายต่อหน้าท่านแล้วนั้น และจะไม่ไต่ถามเรื่องพระของเขาโดยกล่าวว่า `ประชาชาตินี้นมัสการพระของเขาอย่างไร เพื่อเราจะกระทำด้วย'

³⁰take heed to yourself that you not be ensnared to follow them, after that they are destroyed from before you; and that you not inquire after their gods, saying, “How do these nations serve their gods? I will do likewise.”

³¹ท่านอย่ากระทำอย่างนั้นแด่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านทั้งหลาย เพราะว่าสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนทุกอย่างซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงเกลียดชัง พวกเขากระทำสิ่งนั้นต่อพระทั้งหลายของเขา แม้แต่บุตรชายและบุตรสาวของเขา เขาก็เผาด้วยไฟบูชาแด่พระของเขา

³¹You shall not do so to Yahweh your God: for every abomination to Yahweh, which he hates, have they done to their gods; for even their sons and their daughters do they burn in the fire to their gods.

³²ทุกสิ่งที่ข้าพเจ้าบัญชาท่านไว้นั้น จงระวังที่จะกระทำตาม ท่านอย่าเพิ่มอะไรเข้าหรือตัดอะไรออกไปจากสิ่งเหล่านั้น"

³²Whatever thing I command you, that you shall observe to do: you shall not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
