1"ถ้าสองคนเป็นความกันถึงโรงศาล เมื่อพวกผู้พิพากษาพิจารณาความของเขาทั้งสองแล้ว และประกาศความบริสุทธิ์ของฝ่ายถูก และกล่าวโทษฝ่ายผิด
1If there is a controversy between men, and they come to judgment, and the judges judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked;
2ถ้าผู้ผิดสมควรถูกโบยก็ให้ผู้พิพากษาให้เขานอนลง แล้วกำหนดให้โบยต่อหน้ามากน้อยตามความผิดของผู้นั้น
2and it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his wickedness, by number.
3ให้โบยเขาสี่สิบทีก็ได้ แต่อย่าให้เกินนั้นไปเลย เกรงว่าถ้าโบยเขาเกินนั้น พี่น้องของท่านก็เป็นที่ดูถูกของท่าน
3Forty stripes he may give him, he shall not exceed; lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then your brother should seem vile to you.
4อย่าเอาตะกร้าครอบปากวัว เมื่อมันกำลังนวดข้าวอยู่
4You shall not muzzle the ox when he treads out the grain.
5ถ้าพี่น้องอยู่ด้วยกัน และคนหนึ่งตายเสียหามีบุตรไม่ ภรรยาของผู้ที่ตายนั้นจะออกไปเป็นภรรยาของคนนอกไม่ได้ ให้พี่น้องของสามีนางเข้าไปหานางและรับหญิงนั้นมาเป็นภรรยา และทำหน้าที่ของสามีแก่นาง
5If brothers dwell together, and one of them die, and have no son, the wife of the dead shall not be married outside to a stranger: her husband’s brother shall go in to her, and take her to him as wife, and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her.
6บุตรหัวปีที่เกิดมากับหญิงคนนั้นให้สืบชื่อพี่น้องคนที่ตายไปนั้น เพื่อชื่อของเขาจะมิได้ลบไปจากอิสราเอล
6It shall be, that the firstborn whom she bears shall succeed in the name of his brother who is dead, that his name not be blotted out of Israel.
7ถ้าชายคนนั้นไม่ประสงค์จะรับภรรยาของพี่น้องของเขา ก็ให้ภรรยาของพี่น้องของเขาไปหาพวกผู้ใหญ่ที่ประตูเมืองและกล่าวว่า `พี่น้องของสามีดิฉันไม่ยอมสืบชื่อของพี่น้องของเขาในอิสราเอล เขาไม่ยอมรับหน้าที่ของสามีของดิฉัน'
7If the man doesn’t want to take his brother’s wife, then his brother’s wife shall go up to the gate to the elders, and say, “My husband’s brother refuses to raise up to his brother a name in Israel; he will not perform the duty of a husband’s brother to me.”
8แล้วพวกผู้ใหญ่ของเมืองนั้นจะเรียกชายคนนั้นมาพูดกับเขา ถ้าเขายังยืนยันโดยกล่าวว่า `ข้าพเจ้าไม่ประสงค์จะรับนาง'
8Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak to him: and if he stand, and say, “I don’t want to take her”;
9แล้วนางนั้นจะเข้าไปใกล้ชายคนนั้นต่อหน้าพวกผู้ใหญ่ดึงเอารองเท้าของชายคนนั้นออกมาข้างหนึ่ง และถ่มน้ำลายรดหน้าชายนั้นแล้วกล่าวว่า `ต้องกระทำเช่นนี้กับผู้ชายที่ไม่ยอมสร้างครอบครัวของพี่น้องของตน'
9then his brother’s wife shall come to him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face; and she shall answer and say, “So shall it be done to the man who does not build up his brother’s house.”
10ในอิสราเอลเขาจะเรียกชื่อครอบครัวนี้ว่า `วงศ์วานที่รองเท้าถูกดึงออก'
10His name shall be called in Israel, The house of him who has his shoe untied.
11ถ้าชายสองคนวิวาททุบตีกันและภรรยาของชายคนหนึ่งเข้ามาใกล้จะช่วยสามีของตนให้พ้นจากมือของผู้ที่ตี และนางยื่นมือออกเค้นของลับของผู้ชายคนนั้น
11When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draws near to deliver her husband out of the hand of him who strikes him, and puts forth her hand, and takes him by the secrets;
12ท่านจงตัดมือของนางทิ้งเสีย อย่าให้ตาของท่านสงสารนางเลย
12then you shall cut off her hand, your eye shall have no pity.
13ท่านอย่ามีลูกตุ้มสำหรับตาชั่งต่างกันไว้ในถุง อันหนึ่งหนักอันหนึ่งเบา
13You shall not have in your bag diverse weights, a great and a small.
14ในเรือนของท่านอย่าให้มีเครื่องตวงสองชนิด ใหญ่อันหนึ่งเล็กอันหนึ่ง
14You shall not have in your house diverse measures, a great and a small.
15ท่านจงมีลูกตุ้มอันสมบูรณ์และเที่ยงตรงและมีถังตวงอันสมบูรณ์และเที่ยงตรง เพื่อว่าวันคืนของท่านจะยืนนานในแผ่นดินซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านประทานแก่ท่าน
15You shall have a perfect and just weight. You shall have a perfect and just measure, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.
16เพราะว่าทุกคนที่กระทำสิ่งเหล่านั้น และทุกคนที่กระทำสิ่งต่างๆอย่างไม่ชอบธรรมก็เป็นผู้ที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนต่อพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน
16For all who do such things, all who do unrighteously, are an abomination to Yahweh your God.
17จงระลึกถึงการที่คนอามาเลขกระทำแก่ท่านทั้งหลายตามทางที่ท่านออกจากอียิปต์
17Remember what Amalek did to you by the way as you came forth out of Egypt;
18เขาได้ออกมาพบท่านตามทาง และโจมตีพวกที่อยู่รั้งท้าย คือบรรดาคนที่อ่อนกำลังที่อยู่รั้งท้าย เมื่อท่านอ่อนเพลียเมื่อยล้า เขามิได้ยำเกรงพระเจ้า
18how he met you by the way, and struck the hindmost of you, all who were feeble behind you, when you were faint and weary; and he didn’t fear God.
19เพราะฉะนั้นเมื่อพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านประทานให้ท่านหยุดพักจากบรรดาศัตรูที่อยู่รอบข้างแล้ว ในแผ่นดินที่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านประทานแก่ท่านเป็นมรดกให้เป็นกรรมสิทธิ์นั้น ท่านทั้งหลายจงทำลายล้างคนอามาเลขเสียจากความทรงจำภายใต้ฟ้า ท่านทั้งหลายอย่าลืมเสีย"
19Therefore it shall be, when Yahweh your God has given you rest from all your enemies all around, in the land which Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance to possess it, that you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under the sky; you shall not forget.
