¹"โอ ฟ้าสวรรค์ จงเงี่ยหูฟัง ข้าพเจ้าจะพูด โอ พิภพโลก ขอจงสดับถ้อยคำจากปากของข้าพเจ้า

¹Give ear, you heavens, and I will speak. Let the earth hear the words of my mouth.

²ขอให้คำสอนของข้าพเจ้าหยดลงอย่างเม็ดฝน และคำปราศรัยของข้าพเจ้ากลั่นตัวลงอย่างน้ำค้าง อย่างฝนตกปรอยๆอยู่เหนือหญ้าอ่อน อย่างห่าฝนตกลงเหนือผักสด

²My doctrine shall drop as the rain. My speech shall condense as the dew, as the small rain on the tender grass, as the showers on the herb.

³เพราะข้าพเจ้าจะประกาศพระนามของพระเยโฮวาห์ จงถวายความยิ่งใหญ่แด่พระเจ้าของเรา

³For I will proclaim the name of Yahweh. Ascribe greatness to our God!

⁴พระองค์ทรงเป็นศิลา พระราชกิจของพระองค์ก็สมบูรณ์ พระมรรคาทั้งหลายของพระองค์ก็ยุติธรรม พระเจ้าที่เที่ยงธรรมและปราศจากความชั่วช้า พระองค์ทรงยุติธรรมและเที่ยงตรง

⁴The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice: a God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and right is he.

⁵เขาทั้งหลายประพฤติชั่วช้าแล้ว ตำหนิของเขาทั้งหลายหาใช่เป็นตำหนิของบุตรของพระองค์ เขาเป็นยุควิปลาสและคดโกง

⁵They have dealt corruptly with him. They are not his children, because of their defect. They are a perverse and crooked generation.

⁶โอ ชนชาติโฉดเขลาและเบาความเอ๋ย ท่านจะตอบสนองพระเยโฮวาห์อย่างนี้ละหรือ พระองค์มิใช่พระบิดา ผู้ทรงไถ่ท่านไว้ดอกหรือ ผู้ทรงสรรค์ท่าน และตั้งท่านไว้แล้ว

⁶Do you thus requite Yahweh, foolish people and unwise? Isn’t he your father who has bought you? He has made you, and established you.

⁷จงระลึกถึงโบราณกาล จงพิจารณาถึงจำนวนปีที่ผ่านมาหลายชั่วอายุคนแล้วนั้น จงถามบิดาของท่าน แล้วเขาจะสำแดงให้ท่านทราบ จงถามพวกผู้ใหญ่ของท่าน แล้วเขาจะบอกท่าน

⁷Remember the days of old. Consider the years of many generations. Ask your father, and he will show you; your elders, and they will tell you.

⁸เมื่อผู้สูงสุดประทานมรดกแก่บรรดาประชาชาติ เมื่อพระองค์ทรงแยกลูกหลานของอาดัม พระองค์ทรงกั้นเขตของชนชาติทั้งหลายตามจำนวนคนอิสราเอล

⁸When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the children of men, he set the bounds of the peoples according to the number of the children of Israel.

⁹เพราะว่าส่วนของพระเยโฮวาห์คือประชาชนของพระองค์ ยาโคบเป็นส่วนมรดกของพระองค์เอง

⁹For Yahweh’s portion is his people. Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

¹⁰พระองค์ทรงพบเขาในแผ่นดินทุรกันดาร ในที่เปลี่ยวเปล่าซึ่งมีแต่เสียงเห่าหอน พระองค์ทรงนำเขาไปทั่ว และทรงสอนเขาอยู่ ทรงรักษาเขาไว้ดังแก้วพระเนตรของพระองค์

¹⁰He found him in a desert land, in the waste howling wilderness. He surrounded him. He cared for him. He kept him as the apple of his eye.

¹¹เหมือนนกอินทรีที่กวนรังของมัน กระพือปีกอยู่เหนือลูกโต กางปีกออกรองรับลูกไว้ให้เกาะอยู่บนปีก

¹¹As an eagle that stirs up her nest, that flutters over her young, he spread abroad his wings, he took them, he bore them on his feathers.

¹²พระเยโฮวาห์องค์เดียวก็ทรงนำเขามา ไม่มีพระต่างด้าวองค์ใดอยู่กับเขา

¹²Yahweh alone led him. There was no foreign god with him.

¹³พระองค์ทรงโปรดเขาให้ขี่ไปบนโลกส่วนสูง ให้เขากินพืชผลที่ได้จากนา พระองค์ทรงให้เขาดูดน้ำผึ้งจากศิลา และให้ดื่มน้ำมันจากหินแข็งกล้า

¹³He made him ride on the high places of the earth. He ate the increase of the field. He caused him to suck honey out of the rock, oil out of the flinty rock;

¹⁴ให้ได้นมเปรี้ยวจากวัว และให้ได้น้ำนมจากแพะแกะ ได้ไขมันจากลูกแกะ และแกะผู้พันธุ์บาชาน และฝูงแพะ กับข้าวสาลีอย่างดีที่สุด และท่านได้ดื่มเลือดขององุ่น คือน้ำองุ่น

¹⁴Butter of the herd, and milk of the flock, with fat of lambs, rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the finest of the wheat. Of the blood of the grape you drank wine.

¹⁵แต่เยชุรูนอ้วนพีขึ้นแล้วก็มีพยศ พอเจ้าอ้วนใหญ่ เนื้อหนานุ่มนิ่ม เขาทอดทิ้งพระเจ้าผู้สร้างเขามา แล้วดูหมิ่นศิลาแห่งความรอดของเขา

¹⁵But Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked. You have grown fat. You have grown thick. You have become sleek. Then he forsook God who made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

¹⁶เขายั่วยุให้พระองค์ทรงอิจฉาด้วยพระต่างด้าว ด้วยสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนทั้งหลายเขาก็ยั่วยุให้พระองค์ทรงกริ้ว

¹⁶They moved him to jealousy with strange gods. They provoked him to anger with abominations.

¹⁷เขาบูชาพวกปีศาจแทนพระเจ้า บูชาพระซึ่งเขาไม่รู้จักมาก่อน บูชาพระใหม่ๆซึ่งเกิดมาเร็วๆนี้ ซึ่งบรรพบุรุษของท่านไม่เกรงกลัว

¹⁷They sacrificed to demons, not God, to gods that they didn’t know, to new gods that came up recently, which your fathers didn’t dread.

¹⁸ท่านมิได้ใส่ใจในศิลาที่ให้กำเนิดท่านมา ท่านหลงลืมพระเจ้าซึ่งทรงปั้นท่าน

¹⁸Of the Rock who became your father, you are unmindful, and have forgotten God who gave you birth.

¹⁹พระเยโฮวาห์ทอดพระเนตรและทรงชังเขา เพราะเหตุบุตรชายหญิงของพระองค์ได้ยั่วพระองค์

¹⁹Yahweh saw and abhorred, because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.

²⁰และพระองค์ตรัสว่า `เราจะซ่อนหน้าของเราเสียจากเขา เราจะคอยดูว่าปลายทางของเขาจะเป็นอย่างไร เพราะเขาเป็นยุคที่ดื้อรั้น เป็นลูกเต้าที่ไม่มีความเชื่อ

²⁰He said, “I will hide my face from them. I will see what their end shall be; for they are a very perverse generation, children in whom is no faithfulness.

²¹เขาทำให้เราอิจฉาด้วยสิ่งที่ไม่ใช่พระเจ้า เขาได้ยั่วโทสะเราด้วยความไร้ประโยชน์ของเขา ดังนั้นเราจึงทำให้เขาอิจฉาผู้ที่ไม่ใช่ชนชาติ และจะยั่วโทสะเขาด้วยประชาชาติที่เขลาชาติหนึ่ง

²¹They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God. They have provoked me to anger with their vanities. I will move them to jealousy with those who are not a people. I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

²²เพราะมีไฟก่อขึ้นด้วยเหตุความกริ้วของเรานั้น ไฟก็ไหม้ลุกลามไปจนถึงก้นลึกของนรก เผาแผ่นดินโลกและพืชผลในนั้น และก่อเพลิงติดรากภูเขา

²²For a fire is kindled in my anger, Burns to the lowest Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. , Devours the earth with its increase, and sets the foundations of the mountains on fire.

²³เราจะสุมสิ่งร้ายไว้บนเขาทั้งหลาย และปล่อยลูกธนูของเรามายิงเขา

²³“I will heap evils on them. I will spend my arrows on them.

²⁴เขาจะซูบผอมไปเพราะความหิว ความร้อนอันแรงกล้าและการทำลายอันขมขื่นจะเผาผลาญเขาเสีย เราจะส่งฟันสัตว์ร้ายให้มาขบกับพิษของสัตว์เลื้อยคลานในผงคลี

²⁴They shall be wasted with hunger, and devoured with burning heat and bitter destruction. I will send the teeth of animals on them, With the poison of crawling things of the dust.

²⁵ภายนอกจะมีดาบและภายในจะมีความกลัวมาทำลายทั้งชายหนุ่มและหญิงพรหมจารี ทั้งเด็กที่ยังดูดนมและคนที่ผมหงอก

²⁵Outside the sword shall bereave, and in the rooms, terror; on both young man and virgin, The nursing infant with the gray-haired man.

²⁶เราพูดแล้วว่า "เราจะให้เขากระจัดกระจายไปถึงมุมต่างๆ เราจะให้ชื่อของเขาศูนย์ไปจากความทรงจำของมนุษย์"

²⁶I said, I would scatter them afar. I would make their memory to cease from among men;

²⁷ถ้าหากว่าเราไม่กลัวความกริ้วโกรธของศัตรู เกรงว่าศัตรูจะประพฤติผิดไป กลัวว่าศัตรูทั้งหลายจะพูดว่า "กำลังมือของเราจะมีชัย พระเยโฮวาห์หาได้ทรงกระทำกิจการทั้งปวงนี้ไม่"

²⁷were it not that I feared the provocation of the enemy, lest their adversaries should judge wrongly, lest they should say, ‘Our hand is exalted, Yahweh has not done all this.’”

²⁸เพราะว่าเขาทั้งหลายเป็นประชาชาติที่ไม่ยอมฟังคำปรึกษา ในพวกเขาไม่มีความเข้าใจ

²⁸For they are a nation void of counsel. There is no understanding in them.

²⁹ถ้าเขาฉลาดแล้วเขาจะเข้าใจเรื่องนี้และทราบเรื่องสุดท้ายปลายมือ

²⁹Oh that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

³⁰คนเดียวจะไล่พันคนอย่างไรได้ สองคนจะทำให้หมื่นคนหนีได้อย่างไร นอกจากศิลาของเขาได้ขายเขาเสียแล้ว และพระเยโฮวาห์ได้ทรงทอดทิ้งเขาเสีย

³⁰How could one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and Yahweh had delivered them up?

³¹เพราะศิลาของเขาไม่เหมือนศิลาของเรา แม้ศัตรูของเราก็ตัดสินอย่างนั้น

³¹For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

³²เพราะว่าเถาองุ่นของเขามาจากเถาเมืองโสโดม มาจากไร่เมืองโกโมราห์ ผลองุ่นของเขาเป็นดีหมี และองุ่นที่เป็นพวงๆก็ขมขื่น

³²For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, of the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes are grapes of gall, Their clusters are bitter.

³³น้ำองุ่นของเขาเป็นพิษของมังกร เป็นพิษอำมหิตของงูเห่า

³³Their wine is the poison of serpents, The cruel venom of asps.

³⁴เรื่องนี้มิได้สะสมไว้กับเราดอกหรือ ประทับตราไว้ในคลังของเรา

³⁴“Isn’t this laid up in store with me, sealed up among my treasures?

³⁵การแก้แค้นและการตอบสนองเป็นของเรา เท้าของเขาจะลื่นไถลไปตามกำหนดเวลา เพราะว่าวันแห่งหายนะของเขาอยู่ใกล้แค่เอื้อมแล้ว และสิ่งต่างๆที่จะเกิดขึ้นกับเขาก็จะมาโดยพลัน

³⁵Vengeance is mine, and recompense, at the time when their foot slides; for the day of their calamity is at hand. The things that are to come on them shall make haste.”

³⁶เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงพิพากษาประชาชนของพระองค์ และทรงเมตตาปรานีต่อผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ เมื่อทอดพระเนตรกำลังของเขาสิ้นลง ไม่มีใครยังอยู่หรือเหลืออยู่

³⁶For Yahweh will judge his people, and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone, There is none remaining, shut up or left at large.

³⁷แล้วพระองค์จะตรัสว่า "พระของเขาอยู่ที่ไหน ศิลาที่เขาพึ่งพานั้นอยู่ที่ไหนเล่า

³⁷He will say, “Where are their gods, The rock in which they took refuge;

³⁸คือผู้ที่รับประทานไขมันของเครื่องสัตวบูชาของเขา และดื่มน้ำองุ่นที่เป็นเครื่องดื่มบูชาของเขา ให้บรรดาพระเหล่านั้นลุกขึ้นช่วย ให้พระเหล่านั้นเป็นผู้ป้องกันเจ้าซิ

³⁸Which ate the fat of their sacrifices, And drank the wine of their drink offering? Let them rise up and help you! Let them be your protection.

³⁹จงดูเถิด ตัวเรา คือเรานี่แหละเป็นผู้นั้น นอกจากเราไม่มีพระเจ้าอื่นใด เราฆ่าให้ตาย และเราก็ให้มีชีวิตอยู่ เราทำให้บาดเจ็บ และเราก็รักษาให้หาย ไม่มีผู้ใดจะช่วยให้พ้นมือเราได้

³⁹“See now that I, even I, am he, There is no god with me. I kill, and I make alive. I wound, and I heal. There is no one who can deliver out of my hand.

⁴⁰เพราะเราชูมือขึ้นถึงสวรรค์ และปฏิญาณว่า ดังที่เราดำรงอยู่เป็นนิตย์

⁴⁰For I lift up my hand to heaven, And say, As I live forever,

⁴¹ถ้าเราลับดาบอันวาววับของเรา และมือของเรายึดการพิพากษาไว้ เราจะแก้แค้นศัตรูของเรา และตอบแทนผู้ที่เกลียดเรา

⁴¹if I whet my glittering sword, My hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to my adversaries, and will recompense those who hate me.

⁴²เราจะให้ลูกธนูของเราเมาโลหิต และดาบของเราจะกินเนื้อหนัง ด้วยโลหิตของผู้ที่ถูกฆ่าและของเชลย จากศีรษะเจ้านายศัตรู"'

⁴²I will make my arrows drunk with blood. My sword shall devour flesh with the blood of the slain and the captives, from the head of the leaders of the enemy.”

⁴³โอ ประชาชาติทั้งหลาย จงชื่นชมยินดีกับประชาชนของพระองค์ เพราะพระองค์จะแก้แค้นโลหิตแห่งพวกผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์แล้ว และจะทรงทำการแก้แค้นศัตรูของพระองค์ และจะทรงเมตตาปรานีทั้งแผ่นดินและประชาชนของพระองค์"

⁴³Rejoice, you nations, with his people, for he will avenge the blood of his servants. He will render vengeance to his adversaries, And will make expiation for his land, for his people.

⁴⁴โมเสสได้มาเล่าบรรดาถ้อยคำของเพลงบทนี้ให้ประชาชนฟัง ทั้งตัวท่านพร้อมกับโยชูวาบุตรชายนูน

⁴⁴Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he and Joshua the son of Nun.

⁴⁵และเมื่อโมเสสเล่าคำเหล่านี้ทั้งหมดแก่บรรดาคนอิสราเอลจบแล้ว

⁴⁵Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel;

⁴⁶ท่านก็กล่าวแก่เขาว่า "จงใส่ใจในถ้อยคำทั้งหลายซึ่งข้าพเจ้ากล่าวแก่ท่านในวันนี้ เพื่อท่านจะได้บัญชาแก่ลูกหลานของท่าน เพื่อเขาจะได้ระวังที่จะกระทำตามถ้อยคำแห่งพระราชบัญญัตินี้ทั้งสิ้น

⁴⁶He said to them, “Set your heart to all the words which I testify to you this day, which you shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.

⁴⁷เรื่องนี้ไม่ใช่เรื่องเล็กน้อยสำหรับท่านทั้งหลาย แต่เป็นเรื่องชีวิตของท่านทั้งหลาย และเรื่องนี้จะกระทำให้ท่านทั้งหลายมีชีวิตยืนนานในแผ่นดิน ซึ่งท่านทั้งหลายกำลังจะข้ามแม่น้ำจอร์แดนไปยึดครองนั้น"

⁴⁷For it is no vain thing for you; because it is your life, and through this thing you shall prolong your days in the land, where you go over the Jordan to possess it.”

⁴⁸และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับโมเสสในวันนั้นเองว่า

⁴⁸Yahweh spoke to Moses that same day, saying,

⁴⁹"จงขึ้นไปบนภูเขาอาบาริม ถึงยอดเขาเนโบ ซึ่งอยู่ในแผ่นดินโมอับ ตรงข้ามเมืองเยรีโค และดูแผ่นดินคานาอัน ซึ่งเราให้แก่ประชาชนอิสราเอลเป็นกรรมสิทธิ์

⁴⁹“Go up into this mountain of Abarim, to Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and see the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel for a possession;

⁵⁰และสิ้นชีวิตเสียบนภูเขาซึ่งเจ้าขึ้นไปนั้น และถูกรวบไปอยู่กับญาติพี่น้องของเจ้า ดังอาโรนพี่ชายของเจ้าได้สิ้นชีวิตที่ภูเขาโฮร์ และถูกรวบไปอยู่กับประชาชนของเขา

⁵⁰and die on the mountain where you go up, and be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor, and was gathered to his people:

⁵¹เพราะเจ้าทั้งสองได้ละเมิดต่อเราท่ามกลางคนอิสราเอลที่น้ำเมรีบาห์แห่งคาเดชในถิ่นทุรกันดารศิน เพราะเจ้ามิได้เคารพเราว่าบริสุทธิ์ในหมู่คนอิสราเอล

⁵¹because you trespassed against me in the midst of the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah of Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because you didn’t sanctify me in the midst of the children of Israel.

⁵²เพราะเจ้าจะได้เห็นแผ่นดินซึ่งอยู่ต่อหน้าเจ้า แต่เจ้าไม่ได้เข้าไปในแผ่นดินซึ่งเราให้แก่คนอิสราเอล"

⁵²For you shall see the land before you; but you shall not go there into the land which I give the children of Israel.”
