¹โมเสสยังกล่าวถ้อยคำเหล่านี้แก่คนอิสราเอลทุกคน

¹Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel.

²และท่านกล่าวแก่เขาว่า "วันนี้ข้าพเจ้ามีอายุหนึ่งร้อยยี่สิบปีแล้ว ข้าพเจ้าจะออกไปและเข้ามาอีกไม่ไหวแล้ว พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับข้าพเจ้าว่า `เจ้าจะไม่ได้ข้ามแม่น้ำจอร์แดนนี้'

²He said to them, “I am one hundred twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: and Yahweh has said to me, ‘You shall not go over this Jordan.’

³พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านจะข้ามไปข้างหน้าท่านเอง พระองค์จะทรงทำลายประชาชาติเหล่านี้ให้พ้นหน้าท่าน เพื่อว่าท่านจะยึดครองเขานั้น โยชูวาจะข้ามไปนำหน้าท่านทั้งหลาย ดังที่พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสไว้แล้ว

³Yahweh your God, he will go over before you; he will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua shall go over before you, as Yahweh has spoken.

⁴พระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงกระทำแก่เขาอย่างที่พระองค์ได้ทรงกระทำแก่สิโหนและโอกกษัตริย์ของคนอาโมไรต์ และแก่แผ่นดินของเขา ผู้ที่พระองค์ทรงทำลายแล้ว

⁴Yahweh will do to them as he did to Sihon and to Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land; whom he destroyed.

⁵แล้วพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงมอบเขาไว้ต่อหน้าท่าน และท่านทั้งหลายจะกระทำแก่เขาตามบัญญัติทั้งสิ้นซึ่งข้าพเจ้าได้บัญชาท่านไว้แล้ว

⁵Yahweh will deliver them up before you, and you shall do to them according to all the commandment which I have commanded you.

⁶จงเข้มแข็งและกล้าหาญเถิด อย่ากลัวหรืออย่าครั่นคร้ามเขาเลย เพราะว่าผู้ที่ไปกับท่านคือพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน พระองค์จะไม่ทรงปล่อยท่านให้ล้มเหลวหรือทอดทิ้งท่านเสีย"

⁶Be strong and courageous, don’t be afraid, nor be scared of them: for Yahweh your God, he it is who does go with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you.”

⁷แล้วโมเสสเรียกโยชูวาเข้ามาและกล่าวแก่ท่านท่ามกลางสายตาของบรรดาคนอิสราเอลว่า "จงเข้มแข็งและกล้าหาญเถิด เพราะท่านจะต้องไปกับชนชาตินี้เข้าไปในแผ่นดินซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงปฏิญาณแก่บรรพบุรุษว่าจะประทานแก่เขา ท่านจงกระทำให้เขาได้แผ่นดินนั้นมาเป็นมรดก

⁷Moses called to Joshua, and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous: for you shall go with this people into the land which Yahweh has sworn to their fathers to give them; and you shall cause them to inherit it.

⁸ผู้ที่ไปข้างหน้าคือพระเยโฮวาห์ พระองค์ทรงสถิตอยู่ด้วย พระองค์จะไม่ทรงปล่อยท่านให้ล้มเหลวหรือทอดทิ้งท่านเสีย อย่ากลัวและอย่าขยาดเลย"

⁸Yahweh, he it is who does go before you; he will be with you, he will not fail you, neither forsake you: don’t be afraid, neither be dismayed.”

⁹โมเสสได้เขียนพระราชบัญญัตินี้ และมอบให้แก่ปุโรหิตลูกหลานของเลวี ผู้ซึ่งหามหีบพันธสัญญาของพระเยโฮวาห์ และแก่พวกผู้ใหญ่ทั้งปวงของคนอิสราเอล

⁹Moses wrote this law, and delivered it to the priests the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, and to all the elders of Israel.

¹⁰และโมเสสบัญชาเขาว่า "เมื่อครบทุกๆเจ็ดปี ตามเวลากำหนดปีปลดปล่อย ณ เทศกาลอยู่เพิง

¹⁰Moses commanded them, saying, “At the end of every seven years, in the set time of the year of release, in the feast of tents,

¹¹เมื่อคนอิสราเอลทั้งหลายมาประชุมพร้อมกันต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน ณ สถานที่ซึ่งพระองค์จะทรงเลือกไว้นั้น ท่านทั้งหลายจงอ่านพระราชบัญญัตินี้ให้คนอิสราเอลทั้งปวงฟัง

¹¹when all Israel has come to appear before Yahweh your God in the place which he shall choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing.

¹²จงเรียกประชาชนให้มาประชุมกัน ทั้งชาย หญิง และเด็ก ทั้งคนต่างด้าวภายในประตูเมืองของท่าน เพื่อให้เขาได้ยินและเรียนรู้ที่จะยำเกรงพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน และให้ระวังที่จะกระทำตามถ้อยคำทั้งสิ้นของพระราชบัญญัตินี้

¹²Assemble the people, the men and the women and the little ones, and your foreigner who is within your gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear Yahweh your God, and observe to do all the words of this law;

¹³และเพื่อลูกหลานทั้งหลายของเขา ผู้ยังไม่ทราบจะได้ยินและเรียนรู้ที่จะยำเกรงพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน ตราบเท่าเวลาซึ่งท่านอยู่ในแผ่นดิน ซึ่งท่านกำลังจะยกข้ามแม่น้ำจอร์แดนไปยึดครองนั้น"

¹³and that their children, who have not known, may hear, and learn to fear Yahweh your God, as long as you live in the land where you go over the Jordan to possess it.”

¹⁴และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า "ดูเถิด วันซึ่งเจ้าต้องตายก็ใกล้เข้ามาแล้ว จงเรียกโยชูวามา และเจ้าทั้งสองจงมาเฝ้าเราในพลับพลาแห่งชุมนุม เพื่อเราจะได้กำชับเขา" โมเสสและโยชูวาก็เข้าไปและเข้าเฝ้าพระองค์ในพลับพลาแห่งชุมนุม

¹⁴Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, your days approach that you must die: call Joshua, and present yourselves in the Tent of Meeting, that I may commission him.” Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the Tent of Meeting.

¹⁵และพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงปรากฏในเสาเมฆในพลับพลาแห่งชุมนุม และเสาเมฆนั้นอยู่ที่ประตูพลับพลาแห่งชุมนุม

¹⁵Yahweh appeared in the Tent in a pillar of cloud: and the pillar of cloud stood over the door of the Tent.

¹⁶และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า "ดูเถิด ตัวเจ้าจวนจะต้องหลับอยู่กับบรรพบุรุษของเจ้าแล้ว และชนชาตินี้จะลุกขึ้นและเล่นชู้กับพระของคนต่างด้าวแห่งแผ่นดินนี้ ในที่ที่เขาไปอยู่ท่ามกลางนั้น เขาทั้งหลายจะทอดทิ้งเราเสียและหักพันธสัญญาซึ่งเราได้กระทำไว้กับเขา

¹⁶Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers; and this people will rise up, and play the prostitute after the strange gods of the land, where they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.

¹⁷แล้วในวันนั้นเราจะกริ้วต่อเขา และเราจะทอดทิ้งเขาเสียและซ่อนหน้าของเราเสียจากเขา เขาทั้งหลายจะถูกกลืน และสิ่งร้ายกับความลำบากเป็นอันมากจะมาถึงเขา ในวันนั้นเขาจึงจะกล่าวว่า `สิ่งร้ายเหล่านี้ตกแก่เรา เพราะพระเจ้าไม่ทรงสถิตท่ามกลางเราไม่ใช่หรือ'

¹⁷Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall come on them; so that they will say in that day, ‘Haven’t these evils come on us because our God is not among us?’

¹⁸ในวันนั้นเราจะซ่อนหน้าของเราเสียจากเขาเป็นแน่ ด้วยเหตุความชั่วทั้งหลายซึ่งเขาได้กระทำ เพราะเขาได้หันไปหาพระอื่น

¹⁸I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evil which they shall have worked, in that they are turned to other gods.

¹⁹เพราะฉะนั้นบัดนี้เจ้าทั้งสองจงเขียนบทเพลงนี้ และสอนคนอิสราเอลให้ร้องจนติดปาก เพื่อบทเพลงนี้จะเป็นพยานของเราปรักปรำคนอิสราเอล

¹⁹“Now therefore write this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.

²⁰เพราะว่าเมื่อเราจะได้นำเขาเข้ามาในแผ่นดินซึ่งมีน้ำนมและน้ำผึ้งไหลบริบูรณ์ ซึ่งเราได้ปฏิญาณแก่บรรพบุรุษของเขา และเขาได้รับประทานอิ่มหนำและอ้วนพี เขาจะหันไปปรนนิบัติพระอื่น และหมิ่นประมาทเรา และผิดพันธสัญญาของเรา

²⁰For when I shall have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers, flowing with milk and honey, and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat; then will they turn to other gods, and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant.

²¹และต่อมาเมื่อสิ่งร้ายและความลำบากหลายอย่างมาถึงเขาแล้ว เพลงบทนี้จะเผชิญหน้าเป็นพยาน เพราะว่าเพลงนี้จะอยู่ที่ปากเชื้อสายของเขาไม่มีวันลืม เพราะแม้แต่เวลานี้เองเรารู้ถึงความมุ่งหมายที่เขากำลังจะก่อขึ้นมาแล้ว ก่อนที่เราจะนำเขาเข้าไปในแผ่นดินซึ่งเราปฏิญาณไว้นั้น"

²¹It shall happen, when many evils and troubles have come on them, that this song shall testify before them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they frame this day, before I have brought them into the land which I swore.”

²²โมเสสจึงได้เขียนบทเพลงนี้ในวันเดียวกันนั้น และสอนให้แก่ประชาชนอิสราเอล

²²So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel.

²³พระองค์ตรัสสั่งโยชูวาบุตรชายนูนว่า "จงเข้มแข็งและกล้าหาญเถิด เพราะเจ้าจะนำคนอิสราเอลเข้าไปในแผ่นดินซึ่งเราปฏิญาณว่าจะให้แก่เขา เราจะอยู่กับเจ้า"

²³He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said, “Be strong and courageous; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to them: and I will be with you.”

²⁴ต่อมาเมื่อโมเสสเขียนถ้อยคำของพระราชบัญญัตินี้ลงในหนังสือจนจบแล้ว

²⁴It happened, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,

²⁵โมเสสก็บัญชาคนเลวีผู้หามหีบพันธสัญญาแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์ว่า

²⁵that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, saying,

²⁶"จงรับหนังสือพระราชบัญญัตินี้วางไว้ข้างหีบพันธสัญญาแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน ให้อยู่ที่นั่นเพื่อเป็นพยานปรักปรำท่าน

²⁶“Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of Yahweh your God, that it may be there for a witness against you.

²⁷เพราะข้าพเจ้ารู้ว่า ท่านทั้งหลายเป็นคนมักกบฏและคอแข็ง ดูเถิด เมื่อข้าพเจ้ายังมีชีวิตอยู่กับท่านวันนี้ ท่านก็ยังกบฏต่อพระเยโฮวาห์ เมื่อข้าพเจ้าตายแล้วจะร้ายกว่านี้สักเท่าใด

²⁷For I know your rebellion, and your stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, you have been rebellious against Yahweh; and how much more after my death?

²⁸ท่านจงเรียกประชุมพวกผู้ใหญ่ของทุกตระกูล และเจ้าหน้าที่ทั้งหมด เพื่อข้าพเจ้าจะได้กล่าวถ้อยคำเหล่านี้ให้เขาฟัง และอัญเชิญสวรรค์และโลกให้เป็นพยานปรักปรำเขา

²⁸Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them.

²⁹เพราะข้าพเจ้าทราบว่าเมื่อข้าพเจ้าตายแล้ว ท่านจะประพฤติตัวเสื่อมทรามอย่างที่สุด และหันเหไปจากทางซึ่งข้าพเจ้าได้บัญชาท่านไว้ ความชั่วร้ายจะตกแก่ท่านในวันข้างหน้า เพราะว่าท่านจะกระทำสิ่งที่ชั่วร้ายในสายพระเนตรของพระเยโฮวาห์ ซึ่งเป็นการยั่วยุให้พระองค์ทรงกริ้วโกรธด้วยการที่มือท่านกระทำ"

²⁹For I know that after my death you will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will happen to you in the latter days; because you will do that which is evil in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.”

³⁰โมเสสก็ได้กล่าวถ้อยคำในบทเพลงต่อไปนี้ให้เข้าหูประชุมชนอิสราเอลทั้งหมดจนจบ

³⁰Moses spoke in the ears of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, until they were finished.
