1"ต่อมาเมื่อบรรดาเหตุการณ์เหล่านี้ คือพระพรและคำสาปแช่งซึ่งข้าพเจ้ากล่าวไว้ต่อหน้าท่านมาถึงท่านทั้งหลายแล้ว และท่านทั้งหลายระลึกขึ้นได้ในเมื่อท่านทั้งหลายอยู่ท่ามกลางบรรดาประชาชาติ ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านทรงขับไล่ท่านไปนั้น
1It shall happen, when all these things have come on you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you shall call them to mind among all the nations, where Yahweh your God has driven you,
2และท่านก็หันกลับมาหาพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน ทั้งตัวท่านและลูกหลานของท่าน และเชื่อฟังพระสุรเสียงของพระองค์ในทุกสิ่งทุกอย่างซึ่งข้าพเจ้าได้บัญชาท่านในวันนี้ด้วยสุดจิตสุดใจของท่าน
2and shall return to Yahweh your God, and shall obey his voice according to all that I command you this day, you and your children, with all your heart, and with all your soul;
3แล้วพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านทั้งหลายจะทรงให้ท่านคืนสู่สภาพเดิมและทรงพระกรุณาต่อท่าน และจะรวบรวมพวกท่านทั้งหลายอีกจากชนชาติทั้งหลายซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านทรงให้ท่านทั้งหลายกระจายไปอยู่นั้น
3that then Yahweh your God will turn your captivity, and have compassion on you, and will return and gather you from all the peoples, where Yahweh your God has scattered you.
4ถ้ามีคนของท่านที่ถูกขับไล่ไปอยู่สุดท้ายปลายสวรรค์ จากที่นั่นพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านจะทรงรวบรวมท่านให้มา จากที่นั่นพระองค์จะทรงนำท่านกลับ
4If your outcasts are in the uttermost parts of the heavens, from there will Yahweh your God gather you, and from there he will bring you back:
5และพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านจะนำท่านเข้ามาในแผ่นดิน ซึ่งบรรพบุรุษของท่านยึดครองเพื่อท่านจะได้ยึดครอง และพระองค์จะทรงกระทำดีแก่ท่าน และทวีมากขึ้นยิ่งกว่าบรรพบุรุษของท่าน
5and Yahweh your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and he will do you good, and multiply you above your fathers.
6แล้วพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านจะทรงตัดใจของท่าน และใจของเชื้อสายของท่าน เพื่อท่านจะได้รักพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านด้วยสุดจิตสุดใจของท่าน เพื่อท่านทั้งหลายจะมีชีวิตอยู่ได้
6Yahweh your God will circumcise your heart, and the heart of your seed, to love Yahweh your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, that you may live.
7และพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านจะทรงให้คำสาปแช่งเหล่านี้ตกอยู่บนข้าศึกและผู้ที่เกลียดชังท่าน คือผู้ข่มเหงท่านทั้งหลาย
7Yahweh your God will put all these curses on your enemies, and on those who hate you, who persecuted you.
8และท่านทั้งหลายจะเชื่อฟังพระสุรเสียงของพระเยโฮวาห์อีก และกระทำตามพระบัญญัติทั้งสิ้นของพระองค์ ซึ่งข้าพเจ้าบัญชาท่านทั้งหลายในวันนี้
8You shall return and obey the voice of Yahweh, and do all his commandments which I command you this day.
9พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านจะทรงกระทำให้ท่านจำเริญมั่งคั่งอย่างยิ่งในบรรดากิจการที่มือท่านกระทำ ในผลแห่งตัวของท่าน และในผลแห่งฝูงสัตว์ของท่าน และในผลแห่งพื้นดินของท่าน เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงปลื้มปีติที่จะให้ท่านจำเริญมั่งคั่งอีก ดังที่พระองค์ทรงปลื้มปีติในบรรพบุรุษของท่าน
9Yahweh your God will make you plenteous in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your ground, for good: for Yahweh will again rejoice over you for good, as he rejoiced over your fathers;
10ถ้าท่านเชื่อฟังพระสุรเสียงแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน โดยรักษาพระบัญญัติและกฎเกณฑ์ของพระองค์ ซึ่งจารึกไว้ในหนังสือของพระราชบัญญัตินี้ ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายหันกลับมาหาพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านด้วยสุดจิตสุดใจของท่าน
10if you shall obey the voice of Yahweh your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law; if you turn to Yahweh your God with all your heart, and with all your soul.
11เพราะว่าพระบัญญัติซึ่งข้าพเจ้าบัญชาท่านในวันนี้ ไม่ได้ปิดบังไว้จากท่าน และไม่ห่างเหินเกินไปด้วย
11For this commandment which I command you this day, it is not too hard for you, neither is it far off.
12มิใช่พระบัญญัตินั้นอยู่บนสวรรค์แล้วท่านจะกล่าวว่า `ใครจะแทนเราขึ้นไปบนสวรรค์และนำมาให้เรา และกระทำให้เราได้ฟังและประพฤติตาม'
12It is not in heaven, that you should say, “Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it to us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it?”
13มิใช่อยู่พ้นทะเล ซึ่งท่านจะกล่าวว่า `ใครจะข้ามทะเลไปแทนเราและนำมาให้เรา และกระทำให้เราได้ฟังและประพฤติตาม'
13Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, “Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it to us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it?”
14แต่ถ้อยคำนั้นอยู่ใกล้ท่านทั้งหลายมาก อยู่ในปากของท่าน และอยู่ในใจของท่าน ฉะนั้นท่านจึงกระทำตามได้
14But the word is very near to you, in your mouth, and in your heart, that you may do it.
15จงดูเถิด ในวันนี้ข้าพเจ้าได้วางชีวิตและสิ่งดี ความตายและสิ่งร้ายไว้ต่อหน้าท่าน
15Behold, I have set before you this day life and good, and death and evil;
16คือในการที่ข้าพเจ้าได้บัญชาท่านในวันนี้ ให้รักพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน ให้ดำเนินในพระมรรคาทั้งหลายของพระองค์ และให้รักษาพระบัญญัติและกฎเกณฑ์และคำตัดสินของพระองค์ แล้วท่านจะมีชีวิตอยู่และทวีมากขึ้น และพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านจะอำนวยพระพรแก่ท่านในแผ่นดินซึ่งท่านเข้าไปยึดครองนั้น
16in that I command you this day to love Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his ordinances, that you may live and multiply, and that Yahweh your God may bless you in the land where you go in to possess it.
17ถ้าใจของท่านหันเหไป และท่านมิได้ฟัง แต่ถูกลวงให้ไปนมัสการพระอื่นและปรนนิบัติพระนั้น
17But if your heart turns away, and you will not hear, but shall be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
18ข้าพเจ้าขอประกาศแก่ท่านทั้งหลายในวันนี้ว่า ท่านทั้งหลายจะพินาศเป็นแน่ ท่านจะไม่มีชีวิตอยู่นานในแผ่นดินซึ่งท่านกำลังจะยกข้ามแม่น้ำจอร์แดนเข้าไปยึดครองนั้น
18I denounce to you this day, that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land, where you pass over the Jordan to go in to possess it.
19ข้าพเจ้าขออัญเชิญสวรรค์และโลกให้เป็นพยานต่อท่านในวันนี้ว่า ข้าพเจ้าตั้งชีวิตและความตาย พระพรและคำสาปแช่งไว้ต่อหน้าท่าน เพราะฉะนั้นท่านจงเลือกเอาข้างชีวิตเพื่อท่านและเชื้อสายของท่านจะได้มีชีวิตอยู่
19I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse: therefore choose life, that you may live, you and your seed;
20ด้วยมีความรักต่อพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน เชื่อฟังพระสุรเสียงของพระองค์ และติดพันอยู่กับพระองค์ เพราะพระองค์ทรงเป็นชีวิตและความยืนนานของท่าน เพื่อท่านจะได้อยู่ในแผ่นดินซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ปฏิญาณแก่บรรพบุรุษของท่าน คือแก่อับราฮัม แก่อิสอัค และแก่ยาโคบ ว่าจะประทานแก่ท่านเหล่านั้น"
20to love Yahweh your God, to obey his voice, and to cling to him; for he is your life, and the length of your days; that you may dwell in the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
