¹Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, to the saints who are at Ephesus, and the faithful in Christ Jesus:

²ขอให้พระคุณและสันติสุขจากพระเจ้าพระบิดาของเราและจากพระเยซูคริสต์เจ้า ดำรงอยู่กับท่านทั้งหลายด้วยเถิด

²Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

³จงถวายสรรเสริญแด่พระเจ้า พระบิดาแห่งพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเรา ผู้ทรงโปรดประทานพระพรฝ่ายวิญญาณแก่เรานานาประการในสวรรคสถานโดยพระคริสต์

³Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ;

⁴ในพระเยซูคริสต์นั้นพระองค์ได้ทรงเลือกเราไว้ ตั้งแต่ก่อนที่จะทรงเริ่มสร้างโลก เพื่อเราจะบริสุทธิ์และปราศจากตำหนิต่อพระพักตร์ของพระองค์ด้วยความรัก

⁴even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without blemish before him in love;

⁵พระองค์ทรงกำหนดเราไว้ก่อน ตามที่ชอบพระทัยพระองค์ให้เป็นบุตรโดยพระเยซูคริสต์

⁵having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire,

⁶เพื่อจะให้เป็นที่สรรเสริญสง่าราศีแห่งพระคุณของพระองค์ ซึ่งโดยพระคุณนั้นพระองค์ทรงบันดาลให้เราเป็นที่ชอบพระทัย ในผู้ทรงเป็นที่รักของพระองค์

⁶to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he freely bestowed favor on us in the Beloved,

⁷ในพระเยซูนั้น เราได้รับการไถ่โดยพระโลหิตของพระองค์ คือได้รับการอภัยโทษบาปของเรา โดยพระคุณอันอุดมของพระองค์

⁷in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,

⁸which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

⁹making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him

¹⁰ประสงค์ว่าเมื่อเวลากำหนดครบบริบูรณ์แล้ว พระองค์จะทรงรวบรวมทุกสิ่งทั้งที่อยู่ในสวรรค์และในแผ่นดินโลกไว้ในพระคริสต์

¹⁰to an administration of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth, in him;

¹¹และในพระองค์นั้นเราได้รับมรดกที่ทรงดำริไว้ตามพระประสงค์ของพระองค์ ผู้ทรงกระทำทุกสิ่งตามที่ได้ทรงตริตรองไว้สมกับพระทัยของพระองค์

¹¹in whom also we were assigned an inheritance, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his will;

¹²เพื่อเราทั้งหลายผู้ได้วางใจในพระคริสต์ก่อนจะได้รับการแต่งตั้งให้เป็นที่สรรเสริญแก่สง่าราศีของพระองค์

¹²to the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ:

¹³และในพระองค์นั้นท่านทั้งหลายก็ได้วางใจเช่นเดียวกัน เมื่อท่านได้ฟังพระวจนะแห่งความจริงคือข่าวประเสริฐเรื่องความรอดของท่าน และได้เชื่อในพระองค์แล้วด้วย ท่านก็ได้รับการผนึกตราไว้ด้วยพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์แห่งพระสัญญา

¹³in whom you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation—in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

¹⁴ผู้ทรงเป็นมัดจำแห่งมรดกของเรา จนกว่าเราจะได้รับการที่พระองค์ทรงไถ่ไว้แล้วนั้น มาเป็นกรรมสิทธิ์เป็นที่ถวายสรรเสริญแด่สง่าราศีของพระองค์

¹⁴who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.

¹⁵เหตุฉะนั้นเช่นกันครั้นข้าพเจ้าได้ยินถึงความเชื่อของท่านในพระเยซูเจ้า และความรักใคร่ต่อวิสุทธิชนทั้งปวง

¹⁵For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which you have toward all the saints,

¹⁶ข้าพเจ้าจึงได้ขอบพระคุณเพราะท่านทั้งหลายไม่หยุดเลย คือเอ่ยถึงท่านในคำอธิษฐานของข้าพเจ้า

¹⁶don’t cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,

¹⁷เพื่อพระเจ้าแห่งพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเรา คือพระบิดาผู้ทรงสง่าราศี จะทรงโปรดประทานให้ท่านทั้งหลายมีจิตใจอันประกอบด้วยสติปัญญา และความประจักษ์แจ้งในเรื่องความรู้ถึงพระองค์

¹⁷that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;

¹⁸และขอให้ตาใจของท่านสว่างขึ้นเพื่อท่านจะได้รู้ว่า ในการที่พระองค์ทรงเรียกท่านนั้น พระองค์ได้ประทานความหวังอะไรแก่ท่าน และรู้ว่ามรดกของพระองค์สำหรับวิสุทธิชนมีสง่าราศีอันอุดมบริบูรณ์เพียงไร

¹⁸having the eyes of your hearts TR reads “understanding” instead of “hearts” enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

¹⁹และรู้ว่าฤทธานุภาพอันใหญ่ของพระองค์มีมากยิ่งเพียงไรสำหรับเราทั้งหลายที่เชื่อ ตามการกระทำแห่งฤทธานุภาพอันใหญ่ยิ่งของพระองค์

¹⁹and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might

²⁰ซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงกระทำในพระคริสต์ เมื่อทรงบันดาลให้พระองค์เป็นขึ้นมาจากความตาย และให้สถิตเบื้องขวาพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์เองในสวรรคสถาน

²⁰which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,

²¹สูงยิ่งเหนือบรรดาเทพผู้ครอง เหนือศักดิเทพ เหนืออิทธิเทพ เหนือเทพอาณาจักร และเหนือนามทั้งปวงที่เขาเอ่ยขึ้น มิใช่ในยุคนี้เท่านั้นแต่ในยุคที่จะมาถึงด้วย

²¹far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.

²²พระเจ้าได้ทรงปราบสิ่งสารพัดลงไว้ใต้พระบาทของพระคริสต์ และได้ทรงตั้งพระองค์ไว้เป็นประมุขเหนือสิ่งสารพัดแห่งคริสตจักร

²²He put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the assembly,

²³ซึ่งเป็นพระกายของพระองค์ คือซึ่งเต็มบริบูรณ์ด้วยพระองค์ ผู้ทรงอยู่เต็มทุกอย่างทุกแห่งหน

²³which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
