¹โมเสสจึงทูลตอบว่า "แต่ ดูเถิด เขาจะไม่เชื่อข้าพระองค์ หรือฟังเสียงของข้าพระองค์เพราะเขาจะว่า `พระเยโฮวาห์มิได้ทรงปรากฏแก่ท่านเลย'"

¹Moses answered, “But, behold, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice; for they will say, ‘Yahweh has not appeared to you.’”

²พระเยโฮวาห์จึงตรัสกับโมเสสว่า "อะไรอยู่ในมือของเจ้า" และท่านทูลว่า "ไม้เท้า"

²Yahweh said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A rod.”

³และพระองค์ตรัสว่า "โยนลงที่พื้นดินเถิด" ท่านจึงโยนไม้เท้าลงบนพื้นดิน ไม้เท้านั้นก็กลายเป็นงู โมเสสก็ลบหนีจากงูไป

³He said, “Throw it on the ground.” He threw it on the ground, and it became a snake; and Moses ran away from it.

⁴และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า "เอื้อมมือของเจ้าและจับหางงูไว้" ท่านก็เอื้อมมือของท่านและจับหางงู มันก็กลายเป็นไม้เท้าอยู่ในมือของท่าน

⁴Yahweh said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand, and take it by the tail.” He stretched out his hand, and took hold of it, and it became a rod in his hand.

⁵"เพื่อเขาทั้งหลายจะได้เชื่อว่า พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของบรรพบุรุษของเขา พระเจ้าของอับราฮัม พระเจ้าของอิสอัค และพระเจ้าของยาโคบ ได้ทรงปรากฏแก่เจ้าแล้ว"

⁵“That they may believe that Yahweh, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.”

⁶และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับโมเสสอีกว่า "เอามือของเจ้าสอดไว้ที่อกของเจ้า" ท่านก็สอดมือของท่านไว้ที่อกของท่าน และเมื่อชักมือออก ดูเถิด มือของท่านก็เป็นโรคเรื้อน ขาวเหมือนหิมะ

⁶Yahweh said furthermore to him, “Now put your hand inside your cloak.” He put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, as white as snow.

⁷พระองค์จึงตรัสว่า "เอามือของเจ้าสอดไว้ที่อกของเจ้าอีกครั้งหนึ่ง" โมเสสก็สอดมือของท่านเข้าอกของท่านอีก แล้วท่านชักมือออกจากอกมา และดูเถิด มือนั้นกลับกลายเป็นเหมือนเนื้อหนังส่วนอื่นของท่าน

⁷He said, “Put your hand inside your cloak again.” He put his hand inside his cloak again, and when he took it out of his cloak, behold, it had turned again as his other flesh.

⁸"และต่อมา ถ้าเขาจะไม่เชื่อเจ้า และไม่ฟังเสียงแห่งหมายสำคัญแรก เขาก็จะเชื่อเสียงแห่งหมายสำคัญที่สอง

⁸“It will happen, if they will neither believe you nor listen to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

⁹และต่อมา ถ้าเขาไม่เชื่อหมายสำคัญทั้งสองครั้งนี้ ทั้งไม่ฟังเสียงของเจ้า เจ้าจงตักน้ำในแม่น้ำและเทลงที่ดินแห้ง แล้วน้ำที่เจ้าตักมาจากแม่น้ำนั้นจะกลายเป็นเลือดบนดินแห้งนั้น"

⁹It will happen, if they will not believe even these two signs, neither listen to your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it on the dry land. The water which you take out of the river will become blood on the dry land.”

¹⁰แต่โมเสสทูลพระเยโฮวาห์ว่า "ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของข้าพระองค์ ข้าพระองค์มิใช่คนพูดคล่อง ทั้งในกาลก่อน และตั้งแต่เวลาที่พระองค์ตรัสกับผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ แต่ข้าพระองค์เป็นคนพูดไม่คล่อง และพูดช้า"

¹⁰Moses said to Yahweh, “O Lord, The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” I am not eloquent, neither before now, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.”

¹¹พระเยโฮวาห์จึงตรัสกับท่านว่า "ผู้ใดเล่าที่สร้างปากมนุษย์ หรือทำให้เป็นใบ้ หูหนวก ตาดี หรือตาบอด เราพระเยโฮวาห์เป็นผู้ทำไม่ใช่หรือ

¹¹Yahweh said to him, “Who made man’s mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Isn’t it I, Yahweh?

¹²เพราะฉะนั้น จงไปเถิด บัดนี้เราจะอยู่ที่ปากของเจ้า และจะสอนคำซึ่งเจ้าควรจะพูด"

¹²Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak.”

¹³แต่ท่านทูลว่า "ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของข้าพระองค์ ขอทรงโปรดใช้ผู้อื่นไปเถิด"

¹³He said, “Oh, Lord, please send someone else.”

¹⁴ฝ่ายพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงกริ้วต่อโมเสส พระองค์จึงตรัสว่า "เจ้ามีพี่ชายคืออาโรนคนเลวีไม่ใช่หรือ เรารู้แล้วว่าเขาเป็นคนพูดเก่ง และดูเถิด เขากำลังเดินทางมาพบเจ้าด้วย เมื่อเขาเห็นเจ้าเขาก็จะดีใจ

¹⁴The anger of Yahweh was kindled against Moses, and he said, “What about Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Also, behold, he comes out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

¹⁵เจ้าจะพูดกับเขา และบอกสิ่งซึ่งเขาควรจะพูด แล้วเราจะอยู่ที่ปากของเจ้า และปากของเขา และเราจะสอนเจ้าว่าควรจะทำประการใด

¹⁵You shall speak to him, and put the words in his mouth. I will be with your mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what you shall do.

¹⁶และเขาจะเป็นผู้พูดแก่พลไพร่แทนเจ้า และเขา คือเขาเองจะเป็นปากแทนเจ้า และเจ้าจะเป็นผู้แทนพระเจ้าแก่เขา

¹⁶He will be your spokesman to the people; and it will happen, that he will be to you a mouth, and you will be to him as God.

¹⁷เจ้าจงถือไม้เท้านี้ไว้ในมือของเจ้า สำหรับทำหมายสำคัญ"

¹⁷You shall take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do the signs.”

¹⁸โมเสสจึงกลับไปหาเยโธร พ่อตาของตน และบอกกับเขาว่า "ข้าพเจ้าขอลากลับไปหาพี่น้องของข้าพเจ้าซึ่งอยู่ในอียิปต์ เพื่อจะได้ดูว่าเขายังมีชีวิตอยู่หรือไม่" ฝ่ายเยโธรตอบโมเสสว่า "ไปโดยสันติภาพเถิด"

¹⁸Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, “Please let me go and return to my brothers who are in Egypt, and see whether they are still alive.” Jethro said to Moses, “Go in peace.”

¹⁹พระเยโฮวาห์จึงตรัสกับโมเสสในแผ่นดินมีเดียนว่า "กลับไปอียิปต์ เพราะคนทั้งหมดที่หาช่องประหารชีวิตเจ้านั้นตายแล้ว"

¹⁹Yahweh said to Moses in Midian, “Go, return into Egypt; for all the men who sought your life are dead.”

²⁰โมเสสจึงให้ภรรยาและบุตรชายของตนขี่ลากลับไปยังแผ่นดินอียิปต์ ส่วนโมเสสก็ถือไม้เท้าของพระเจ้าในมือของท่านไปด้วย

²⁰Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them on a donkey, and he returned to the land of Egypt. Moses took God’s rod in his hand.

²¹พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า "เมื่อเจ้ากลับไปถึงอียิปต์ จงกระทำมหัศจรรย์ต่างๆซึ่งเรามอบไว้ในมือของเจ้าแล้วนั้นต่อหน้าฟาโรห์ แต่เราจะทำให้ใจของฟาโรห์แข็งกระด้าง เพื่อเขาจะไม่ยอมให้พลไพร่ไป

²¹Yahweh said to Moses, “When you go back into Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the wonders which I have put in your hand, but I will harden his heart and he will not let the people go.

²²และเจ้าจะทูลฟาโรห์ว่า `พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า คนอิสราเอลเป็นบุตรชายของเรา คือเป็นบุตรหัวปีของเรา

²²You shall tell Pharaoh, ‘Thus says Yahweh, Israel is my son, my firstborn,

²³เราจึงบอกแก่เจ้าว่า "จงปล่อยบุตรของเราไป เพื่อเขาจะได้ปรนนิบัติเรา" และถ้าเจ้าไม่ยอมให้เขาไป ดูเถิด เราจะประหารชีวิตบุตรชายของเจ้า คือบุตรหัวปีของเจ้าเสีย'"

²³and I have said to you, “Let my son go, that he may serve me”; and you have refused to let him go. Behold, I will kill your son, your firstborn.’”

²⁴และต่อมา ณ ที่พักระหว่างทาง พระเยโฮวาห์เสด็จมาพบโมเสส และจะประหารชีวิตของท่านเสีย

²⁴It happened on the way at a lodging place, that Yahweh met Moses and wanted to kill him.

²⁵ครั้งนั้นนางศิปโปราห์จึงเอาหินคมตัดหนังที่ปลายองคชาตบุตรชายของตนออกแล้วทิ้งไว้ที่เท้าของโมเสสกล่าวว่า "จริงนะ ท่านเป็นสามีผู้ทำให้โลหิตตก"

²⁵Then Zipporah took a flint, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet; and she said, “Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me.”

²⁶พระองค์จึงทรงละท่านไว้ นางจึงกล่าวว่า "ท่านเป็นสามีผู้ทำให้โลหิตตก" เนื่องจากพิธีเข้าสุหนัต

²⁶So he let him alone. Then she said, “You are a bridegroom of blood,” because of the circumcision.

²⁷และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับอาโรนว่า "จงไปพบกับโมเสสในถิ่นทุรกันดาร" เขาก็ไปพบกับท่านที่ภูเขาของพระเจ้าและจุบท่าน

²⁷Yahweh said to Aaron, “Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” He went, and met him on God’s mountain, and kissed him.

²⁸โมเสสจึงเล่าให้อาโรนฟังถึงพระดำรัสของพระเยโฮวาห์ทั้งหมด ผู้ซึ่งทรงใช้ตน และถึงหมายสำคัญทั้งปวงซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงบัญชาแก่ท่าน

²⁸Moses told Aaron all the words of Yahweh with which he had sent him, and all the signs with which he had instructed him.

²⁹โมเสสกับอาโรนไปเรียกประชุมบรรดาผู้ใหญ่ของชนชาติอิสราเอลพร้อมกัน

²⁹Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel.

³⁰แล้วอาโรนจึงกล่าวถึงพระดำรัสทั้งหมดซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสแก่โมเสส และทำหมายสำคัญต่างๆนั้นท่ามกลางสายตาของพลไพร่

³⁰Aaron spoke all the words which Yahweh had spoken to Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.

³¹ฝ่ายพลไพร่ก็เชื่อ และเมื่อเขาได้ยินว่าพระเยโฮวาห์เสด็จมาเยี่ยมเยียนชนชาติอิสราเอล และทอดพระเนตรเห็นความทุกข์ยากของเขาแล้ว เขาก็ก้มศีรษะลงและนมัสการ

³¹The people believed, and when they heard that Yahweh had visited the children of Israel, and that he had seen their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.
