¹พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังข้าพเจ้าอีกว่า

¹The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

²"บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย จงพูดกับชนชาติของเจ้าและกล่าวแก่เขาว่า ถ้าเรานำดาบมาเหนือแผ่นดิน และถ้าประชาชนในแผ่นดินนั้นตั้งชายคนหนึ่งจากพวกเขาให้เป็นยาม

²Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and tell them, When I bring the sword on a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and set him for their watchman;

³และถ้าเขาเห็นดาบมาเหนือแผ่นดินจึงเป่าแตรและตักเตือนประชาชน

³if, when he sees the sword come on the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

⁴เมื่อคนหนึ่งคนใดได้ยินเสียงแตรแต่ไม่นำพาต่อเสียงตักเตือน และดาบนั้นก็มาพาเอาคนนั้นไปเสีย ให้โลหิตของคนนั้นตกบนศีรษะของคนนั้นเอง

⁴then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet, and doesn’t take warning, if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be on his own head.

⁵คือเขาได้ยินเสียงแตร แต่ไม่นำพาต่อเสียงตักเตือน ให้โลหิตของคนนั้นตกอยู่บนคนนั้นเอง ถ้าเขาได้นำพาต่อเสียงตักเตือนแล้วเขาจะได้ช่วยชีวิตของตนเองให้รอดพ้น

⁵He heard the sound of the trumpet, and didn’t take warning; his blood shall be on him; whereas if he had taken warning, he would have delivered his soul.

⁶แต่ถ้าคนยามเห็นดาบมาแล้วและไม่เป่าแตร ประชาชนจึงไม่ได้รับเสียงตักเตือน และดาบก็มาพาคนหนึ่งคนใดไปเสีย คนนั้นถูกนำไปด้วยเรื่องความชั่วช้าของเขา แต่เราจะเรียกร้องโลหิตของเขาจากมือของยาม

⁶But if the watchman sees the sword come, and doesn’t blow the trumpet, and the people aren’t warned, and the sword comes, and take any person from among them; he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

⁷ฉะนี้แหละ เจ้า บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย เราได้กระทำเจ้าให้เป็นคนยามสำหรับวงศ์วานอิสราเอล เจ้าได้ยินถ้อยคำจากปากของเราเมื่อไร เจ้าจงให้คำตักเตือนของเราแก่ประชาชน

⁷So you, son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel; therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

⁸ถ้าเรากล่าวแก่คนชั่วว่า โอ คนชั่วเอ๋ย เจ้าจะต้องตายแน่ แต่เจ้าก็มิได้กล่าวคำตักเตือนให้คนชั่วกลับจากทางของเขา คนชั่วนั้นจะต้องตายเพราะความชั่วช้าของเขา แต่เราจะเรียกร้องโลหิตของเขาจากมือของเจ้า

⁸When I tell the wicked, O wicked man, you shall surely die, and you don’t speak to warn the wicked from his way; that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at your hand.

⁹แต่ถ้าเจ้าได้ตักเตือนคนชั่วให้หันกลับจากทางของเขาแล้ว แต่เขาไม่หันกลับจากทางของเขา เขาจะตายเพราะความชั่วช้าของเขา แต่เจ้าได้ช่วยชีวิตของเจ้าเองให้รอดพ้นแล้ว

⁹Nevertheless, if you warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he doesn’t turn from his way; he shall die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul.

¹⁰เจ้า บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย เจ้าจงกล่าวแก่วงศ์วานอิสราเอล พวกเจ้าเคยกล่าวดังนี้ว่า `การละเมิดและความบาปทั้งหลายของเราอยู่เหนือเรา เราก็ค่อยๆวอดวายไปเพราะสิ่งเหล่านี้ เราจะดำรงชีวิตอยู่ได้อย่างไร'

¹⁰You, son of man, tell the house of Israel: Thus you speak, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are on us, and we pine away in them; how then can we live?

¹¹จงกล่าวตอบเขาว่า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า เรามีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด เราไม่พอใจในความตายของคนชั่ว แต่พอใจในการที่คนชั่วหันจากทางของเขาและมีชีวิตอยู่ จงหันกลับ จงหันกลับจากทางชั่วของเจ้า โอ วงศ์วานอิสราเอลเอ๋ย ยอมตายทำไม

¹¹Tell them, As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn, turn from your evil ways; for why will you die, house of Israel?

¹²เจ้า บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย เจ้าจงกล่าวแก่ชนชาติของเจ้าว่า ความชอบธรรมของผู้ชอบธรรมจะไม่ช่วยเขาให้พ้นในวันที่เขาละเมิด ส่วนความชั่วของคนชั่วนั้นจะไม่กระทำให้เขาล้มลงในวันที่เขาหันกลับจากความชั่วของเขา และคนชอบธรรมจะไม่ดำรงชีวิตอยู่ได้ด้วยความชอบธรรมในวันที่เขากระทำบาป

¹²You, son of man, tell the children of your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his disobedience; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turns from his wickedness; neither shall he who is righteous be able to live thereby in the day that he sins.

¹³แม้เราจะได้กล่าวแก่คนชอบธรรมว่า เขาจะมีชีวิตอยู่แน่ ถ้าเขายังวางใจในความชอบธรรมของเขา และกระทำความชั่วช้า การกระทำทั้งหลายที่ชอบธรรมของเขาย่อมไม่อยู่ในความทรงจำอีกเลย แต่เขาจะต้องตายเพราะความชั่วช้าซึ่งเขาได้กระทำไว้

¹³When I tell the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his righteousness, and commit iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered; but in his iniquity that he has committed, therein shall he die.

¹⁴อีกประการหนึ่ง แม้เราจะได้กล่าวแก่คนชั่วว่า `เจ้าจะต้องตายแน่' ถ้าเขาหันกลับจากบาปของเขา มากระทำความยุติธรรมและความชอบธรรม

¹⁴Again, when I say to the wicked, You shall surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;

¹⁵ถ้าคนชั่วได้คืนของประกัน ขโมยอะไรของเขามาก็คืนเสีย และดำเนินตามกฎเกณฑ์แห่งชีวิต ไม่กระทำความชั่วช้าเลย เขาจะดำรงชีวิตอยู่แน่ เขาไม่ต้องตาย

¹⁵if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that which he had taken by robbery, walk in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

¹⁶บาปซึ่งเขาได้กระทำมาแล้ว จะไม่จดจำนำมากล่าวโทษเขา เขาได้กระทำความยุติธรรมและความชอบธรรม เขาจะดำรงชีวิตแน่

¹⁶None of his sins that he has committed shall be remembered against him: he has done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

¹⁷แต่ชนชาติของเจ้ายังกล่าวว่า `วิธีการขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าไม่ยุติธรรม' ในเมื่อวิธีการของเขาเองไม่ยุติธรรม

¹⁷Yet the children of your people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.

¹⁸เมื่อคนชอบธรรมหันกลับจากความชอบธรรมของเขาและกระทำความชั่วช้า เขาจะต้องตายเพราะความชั่วช้านั้น

¹⁸When the righteous turns from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, he shall even die therein.

¹⁹และเมื่อคนชั่วหันกลับจากความชั่วของเขาและกระทำความยุติธรรมและความชอบธรรม เขาจะดำรงชีวิตอยู่ได้โดยเหตุนั้น

¹⁹When the wicked turns from his wickedness, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.

²⁰เจ้ายังกล่าวว่า `วิธีการขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าไม่ยุติธรรม' โอ วงศ์วานอิสราเอลเอ๋ย เราจะพิพากษาเจ้าตามการประพฤติของเจ้าแต่ละคน"

²⁰Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not equal. House of Israel, I will judge every one of you after his ways.

²¹และอยู่มา เมื่อวันที่ห้า เดือนที่สิบ ในปีที่สิบสอง ซึ่งเราได้ถูกกวาดไปเป็นเชลย ชายคนหนึ่งหนีมาจากกรุงเยรูซาเล็มมาหาข้าพเจ้ากล่าวว่า "เมืองนั้นแตกเสียแล้ว"

²¹It happened in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one who had escaped out of Jerusalem came to me, saying, The city has been struck.

²²ในเวลาเย็นก่อนที่ผู้ลี้ภัยมา พระหัตถ์ของพระเยโฮวาห์ได้มาอยู่เหนือข้าพเจ้า และพระองค์ทรงอ้าปากของข้าพเจ้าทันเวลาที่ชายคนนั้นมาถึงในตอนเช้า ดังนั้นปากของข้าพเจ้าจึงอ้าออก ข้าพเจ้าก็ไม่ได้เป็นใบ้ต่อไป

²²Now the hand of Yahweh had been on me in the evening, before he who was escaped came; and he had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more mute.

²³พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังข้าพเจ้าว่า

²³The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

²⁴"บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย ชาวเมืองที่อาศัยอยู่ในที่ร้างเปล่าในแผ่นดินอิสราเอลกล่าวเรื่อยๆว่า `อับราฮัมเป็นแต่ชายคนเดียว และยังถือกรรมสิทธิ์ที่ดินนี้ แต่พวกเราหลายคนด้วยกัน คงต้องประทานแผ่นดินนั้นให้เป็นกรรมสิทธิ์แก่เรา'

²⁴Son of man, they who inhabit those waste places in the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.

²⁵เพราะฉะนั้น จงกล่าวแก่เขาทั้งหลายว่า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า เจ้ารับประทานเนื้อพร้อมเลือด เจ้าเงยหน้าขึ้นนมัสการรูปเคารพของเจ้าและทำให้โลหิตตก แล้วเจ้ายังจะเอากรรมสิทธิ์ที่ดินนี้อีกหรือ

²⁵Therefore tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: You eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes to your idols, and shed blood: and shall you possess the land?

²⁶เจ้ายืนอยู่ด้วยดาบของเจ้า เจ้ากระทำการอันน่าสะอิดสะเอียน และเจ้าทุกคนได้กระทำให้ภรรยาของเพื่อนบ้านเป็นมลทิน แล้วเจ้าจะเอากรรมสิทธิ์ที่ดินนี้หรือ

²⁶You stand on your sword, you work abomination, and every one of you defiles his neighbor’s wife: and shall you possess the land?

²⁷จงกล่าวเช่นนี้แก่เขาว่า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า เรามีชีวิตอยู่แน่ฉันใด บรรดาคนที่อยู่ในที่ร้างเปล่าจะต้องล้มลงด้วยดาบ และคนที่อยู่ที่พื้นทุ่ง เราจะมอบให้เป็นอาหารแก่สัตว์ป่า และบรรดาคนเหล่านั้นที่อยู่ในที่กำบังเข้มแข็งและอยู่ในถ้ำจะตายด้วยโรคระบาด

²⁷You shall tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: As I live, surely those who are in the waste places shall fall by the sword; and him who is in the open field will I give to the animals to be devoured; and those who are in the strongholds and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.

²⁸และเราจะกระทำให้แผ่นดินนั้นรกร้างที่สุด และความหยิ่งผยองในอานุภาพของแผ่นดินนั้นจะสูญสิ้นไป ภูเขาแห่งอิสราเอลจะรกร้างจนไม่มีคนเดินผ่าน

²⁸I will make the land a desolation and an astonishment; and the pride of her power shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, so that none shall pass through.

²⁹แล้วเขาจะทราบว่าเราคือพระเยโฮวาห์ เมื่อเราได้กระทำให้แผ่นดินนั้นรกร้างที่สุด เพราะเหตุจากการอันน่าสะอิดสะเอียนทั้งสิ้นของเขาซึ่งเขาได้กระทำนั้น

²⁹Then shall they know that I am Yahweh, when I have made the land a desolation and an astonishment, because of all their abominations which they have committed.

³⁰เจ้า บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย ชนชาติของเจ้าที่พูดเรื่องเจ้าข้างกำแพงเมืองและตามประตูบ้าน พูดต่อกันและกันกับพี่น้องของตนว่า `มาเถิด มาฟังเสียงพระวจนะซึ่งออกมาจากพระเยโฮวาห์'

³⁰As for you, son of man, the children of your people talk of you by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, everyone to his brother, saying, Please come and hear what is the word that comes forth from Yahweh.

³¹และเข้ามาหาเจ้าอย่างที่ชาวตลาดมา และเขามานั่งข้างหน้าเจ้าอย่างประชาชนของเรา เขาฟังคำพูดของเจ้า แต่เขาไม่ยอมกระทำตาม เพราะว่าเขาแสดงความรักมากด้วยปากของเขา แต่จิตใจของเขามุ่งอยู่ตามความโลภของเขา

³¹They come to you as the people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear your words, but don’t do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.

³²และ ดูเถิด เจ้าเป็นเหมือนคนร้องเพลงรักแก่เขา มีเสียงไพเราะและเล่นดนตรีเก่ง เพราะเขาฟังคำพูดของเจ้า แต่เขาไม่ยอมกระทำตาม

³²Behold, you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument; for they hear your words, but they don’t do them.

³³และเมื่อการเช่นนี้เป็นมา (ดูเถิด ก็จะมา) เขาทั้งหลายจะทราบว่ามีผู้พยากรณ์อยู่ในหมู่พวกเขา"

³³When this comes to pass, (behold, it comes), then shall they know that a prophet has been among them.
