1โยเซฟเข้าไปทูลฟาโรห์ว่า "บิดาและพี่น้องของข้าพระองค์กับฝูงแพะแกะฝูงวัวและทรัพย์สมบัติของเขาทั้งสิ้นมาจากแผ่นดินคานาอันแล้ว ดูเถิด พวกเขาอยู่ในแผ่นดินโกเชน"
1Then Joseph went in and told Pharaoh, and said, “My father and my brothers, with their flocks, their herds, and all that they own, have come out of the land of Canaan; and behold, they are in the land of Goshen.”
2โยเซฟเลือกคนจากหมู่พี่น้อง คือผู้ชายห้าคนพาไปเฝ้าฟาโรห์
2From among his brothers he took five men, and presented them to Pharaoh.
3ฟาโรห์ตรัสถามพี่น้องของโยเซฟว่า "พวกเจ้าเคยทำมาหาเลี้ยงชีพอย่างไร" เขาทูลฟาโรห์ว่า "ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์เป็นผู้เลี้ยงแพะแกะ ทั้งพวกข้าพระองค์และบรรพบุรุษของพวกข้าพระองค์"
3Pharaoh said to his brothers, “What is your occupation?” They said to Pharaoh, “Your servants are shepherds, both we, and our fathers.”
4เขาทูลฟาโรห์อีกว่า "พวกข้าพระองค์มาอาศัยอยู่ในแผ่นดินนี้เพราะไม่มีทุ่งหญ้าจะเลี้ยงสัตว์ของข้าพระองค์ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ เพราะเหตุว่าในแผ่นดินคานาอันนั้นกันดารอาหารนัก เหตุฉะนี้บัดนี้ ขอโปรดให้ข้าพระองค์ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์อาศัยอยู่ในแผ่นดินโกเชนเถิด"
4They said to Pharaoh, “We have come to live as foreigners in the land, for there is no pasture for your servants’ flocks. For the famine is severe in the land of Canaan. Now therefore, please let your servants dwell in the land of Goshen.”
5ฟาโรห์จึงตรัสแก่โยเซฟว่า "บิดาและพี่น้องของท่านมาหาท่านแล้ว
5Pharaoh spoke to Joseph, saying, “Your father and your brothers have come to you.
6ท่านมีประเทศอียิปต์อยู่ต่อหน้า ให้บิดาและพี่น้องของท่านตั้งหลักแหล่งอยู่ในแผ่นดินดีที่สุดคือให้เขาอยู่แผ่นดินโกเชน แล้วในพวกพี่น้องนั้น ถ้าท่านรู้ว่าผู้ใดเป็นคนมีความสามารถ จงตั้งผู้นั้นให้เป็นหัวหน้ากองเลี้ยงสัตว์ของเรา"
6The land of Egypt is before you. Make your father and your brothers dwell in the best of the land. Let them dwell in the land of Goshen. If you know any able men among them, then put them in charge of my livestock.”
7โยเซฟก็พายาโคบบิดาของท่านเข้าเฝ้าฟาโรห์ ยาโคบก็ถวายพระพรแก่ฟาโรห์
7Joseph brought in Jacob, his father, and set him before Pharaoh, and Jacob blessed Pharaoh.
8ฟาโรห์จึงตรัสถามยาโคบว่า "อายุท่านได้เท่าไร"
8Pharaoh said to Jacob, “How many are the days of the years of your life?”
9ยาโคบทูลตอบฟาโรห์ว่า "ข้าพระองค์ดำรงชีวิตสัญจรอยู่นับได้ร้อยสามสิบปี ชีวิตของข้าพระองค์สั้นและมีความลำบาก ไม่เท่าอายุบรรพบุรุษของข้าพระองค์ในวันที่ดำรงชีวิตสัญจรอยู่นั้น"
9Jacob said to Pharaoh, “The days of the years of my pilgrimage are one hundred thirty years. Few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained to the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.”
10ยาโคบถวายพระพรแก่ฟาโรห์ แล้วทูลลาไปจากฟาโรห์
10Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from the presence of Pharaoh.
11ฝ่ายโยเซฟให้บิดาและพวกพี่น้องของตนอยู่และถือกรรมสิทธิ์ที่ดินในประเทศอียิปต์ ในแผ่นดินที่ดีที่สุดคือ ในแผ่นดินราเมเสส ตามรับสั่งของฟาโรห์
11Joseph placed his father and his brothers, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded.
12โยเซฟเลี้ยงดูบิดาและพวกพี่น้องรวมทั้งครอบครัวของบิดา ให้มีอาหารรับประทานตามจำนวนคนในครอบครัว
12Joseph nourished his father, his brothers, and all of his father’s household, with bread, according to their families.
13และทั่วแผ่นดินขาดอาหารเพราะการกันดารอาหารร้ายแรง จนแผ่นดินอียิปต์และแผ่นดินคานาอันทั้งสิ้นหิวโหยเพราะการกันดารอาหาร
13There was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very severe, so that the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan fainted by reason of the famine.
14โยเซฟรวบรวมเงินทั้งหมดที่ได้จากการขายข้าวในประเทศอียิปต์และแผ่นดินคานาอัน และโยเซฟนำเงินนั้นไปไว้ในราชวังฟาโรห์
14Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the grain which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house.
15เมื่อเงินในประเทศอียิปต์และแผ่นดินคานาอันหมดแล้ว ชาวอียิปต์ทั้งปวงมากราบเรียนโยเซฟว่า "ขออาหารให้พวกข้าพเจ้าเถิด เหตุใดพวกข้าพเจ้าจะต้องอดตายต่อหน้าท่านเพราะเงินหมดเล่า"
15When the money was all spent in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came to Joseph, and said, “Give us bread, for why should we die in your presence? For our money fails.”
16โยเซฟจึงบอกว่า "ถ้าเงินหมดแล้วจงเอาฝูงสัตว์ของเจ้ามาและเราจะให้ข้าวแลกกับสัตว์"
16Joseph said, “Give me your livestock; and I will give you food for your livestock, if your money is gone.”
17เขาก็นำฝูงสัตว์มาให้โยเซฟ โยเซฟก็ให้อาหารแก่เขาแลกกับม้า แพะแกะ ฝูงวัวและลา ในปีนั้นท่านจ่ายอาหารแลกกับสัตว์ต่างๆของเขา
17They brought their livestock to Joseph, and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for the horses, and for the flocks, and for the herds, and for the donkeys: and he fed them with bread in exchange for all their livestock for that year.
18เมื่อปีนั้นสิ้นสุดลงแล้ว เขาก็มาหาท่านในปีที่สองกราบเรียนท่านว่า "พวกข้าพเจ้าจะไม่ปิดบังเรื่องนี้ไว้จากนายของข้าพเจ้าว่า เงินของข้าพเจ้าหมดแล้วและฝูงสัตว์ของข้าพเจ้าก็เป็นของนายแล้วด้วย ข้าพเจ้าไม่มีสิ่งใดเหลือในสายตาของท่านเลย เว้นแต่ตัวข้าพเจ้ากับที่ดินเท่านั้น
18When that year was ended, they came to him the second year, and said to him, “We will not hide from my lord how our money is all spent, and the herds of livestock are my lord’s. There is nothing left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands.
19เหตุใดข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายจะต้องอดตายต่อหน้าต่อตาท่านเล่า ทั้งตัวข้าพเจ้ากับที่ดินของข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายด้วย ขอท่านโปรดซื้อพวกข้าพเจ้ากับที่ดินแลกกับอาหาร ข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายกับที่ดินจะเป็นทาสของฟาโรห์ ขอท่านโปรดให้เมล็ดข้าวแก่พวกข้าพเจ้า เพื่อข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายจะมีชีวิตอยู่ได้และไม่ตายเพื่อที่ดินนั้นจะไม่รกร้างไป"
19Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants to Pharaoh. Give us seed, that we may live, and not die, and that the land won’t be desolate.”
20โยเซฟก็ซื้อที่ดินทั้งหมดในอียิปต์ให้แก่ฟาโรห์ เพราะคนอียิปต์ทุกคนขายไร่นาของตนเนื่องจากการกันดารอาหารรุนแรงต่อเขายิ่งนัก เพราะฉะนั้นแผ่นดินจึงตกเป็นของฟาโรห์
20So Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh, for every man of the Egyptians sold his field, because the famine was severe on them, and the land became Pharaoh’s.
21ส่วนประชาชนเหล่านั้นโยเซฟให้เขาย้ายไปอยู่ที่เมืองต่างๆทั่วประเทศอียิปต์
21As for the people, he moved them to the cities from one end of the border of Egypt even to the other end of it.
22เว้นแต่ที่ดินของพวกปุโรหิตเท่านั้นโยเซฟไม่ได้ซื้อ เพราะปุโรหิตได้รับปันส่วนจากฟาโรห์ และดำรงชีวิตอาศัยตามส่วนที่ฟาโรห์พระราชทาน เหตุฉะนี้เขาจึงไม่ได้ขายที่ดินของเขา
22Only he didn’t buy the land of the priests, for the priests had a portion from Pharaoh, and ate their portion which Pharaoh gave them. That is why they didn’t sell their land.
23โยเซฟชี้แจงแก่ประชาชนทั้งปวงว่า "ดูเถิด วันนี้เราซื้อตัวพวกเจ้ากับที่ดินของเจ้าให้เป็นของฟาโรห์แล้ว นี่เราจะให้เมล็ดข้าวแก่พวกเจ้าและพวกเจ้าจงเอาไปหว่านเถิด
23Then Joseph said to the people, “Behold, I have bought you and your land today for Pharaoh. Behold, here is seed for you, and you shall sow the land.
24และต่อมาเมื่อได้ผลแล้วจงถวายส่วนหนึ่งในห้าส่วนแก่ฟาโรห์ เก็บสี่ส่วนไว้เป็นของตน สำหรับใช้เป็นเมล็ดข้าวบ้าง เป็นอาหารสำหรับเจ้าและครอบครัวกับเด็กเล็กบ้าง"
24It will happen at the harvests, that you shall give a fifth to Pharaoh, and four parts will be your own, for seed of the field, for your food, for them of your households, and for food for your little ones.”
25คนทั้งหลายก็กล่าวว่า "ท่านช่วยชีวิตข้าพเจ้าไว้ ขอให้ข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายได้รับความกรุณาในสายตาของนายข้าพเจ้าเถิด ข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายยอมเป็นทาสของฟาโรห์"
25They said, “You have saved our lives! Let us find favor in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh’s servants.”
26โยเซฟตั้งเป็นกฎหมายในประเทศอียิปต์ตราบเท่าทุกวันนี้ว่า ให้ฟาโรห์ได้ส่วนหนึ่งในห้าส่วน เว้นแต่ที่ดินของปุโรหิตเท่านั้นไม่ตกเป็นของฟาโรห์
26Joseph made it a statute concerning the land of Egypt to this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth. Only the land of the priests alone didn’t become Pharaoh’s.
27พวกอิสราเอลอาศัยอยู่ในประเทศอียิปต์ ณ แผ่นดินโกเชน เขามีทรัพย์สมบัติที่นั่น และมีลูกหลานทวีขึ้นมากมาย
27Israel lived in the land of Egypt, in the land of Goshen; and they got themselves possessions therein, and were fruitful, and multiplied exceedingly.
28ยาโคบมีชีวิตอยู่ในแผ่นดินอียิปต์สิบเจ็ดปี รวมอายุยาโคบได้ร้อยสี่สิบเจ็ดปี
28Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years. So the days of Jacob, the years of his life, were one hundred forty-seven years.
29เวลาที่อิสราเอลจะสิ้นชีพก็ใกล้เข้ามาแล้ว ท่านจึงเรียกโยเซฟบุตรชายท่านมาสั่งว่า "ถ้าเดี๋ยวนี้เราได้รับความกรุณาในสายตาของเจ้า เราขอร้องให้เจ้าเอามือของเจ้าวางไว้ใต้ขาอ่อนของเรา และปฏิบัติต่อเราด้วยความเมตตากรุณาและจริงใจ ขอเจ้าโปรดอย่าฝังเราศพไว้ในอียิปต์เลย
29The time drew near that Israel must die, and he called his son Joseph, and said to him, “If now I have found favor in your sight, please put your hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me. Please don’t bury me in Egypt,
30แต่เราจะถูกฝังไว้กับบรรพบุรุษของเรา แล้วเจ้าจงนำเราออกจากอียิปต์ไปฝังไว้ ณ ที่ฝังศพบิดาเราเถิด" โยเซฟก็สัญญาว่า "ข้าพเจ้าจะกระทำตามที่ท่านสั่ง"
30but when I sleep with my fathers, you shall carry me out of Egypt, and bury me in their burying place.” He said, “I will do as you have said.”
31อิสราเอลจึงบอกว่า "จงปฏิญาณตัวให้เราด้วย" โยเซฟก็ปฏิญาณให้บิดา แล้วอิสราเอลก็กราบลงที่บนหัวนอน
31He said, “Swear to me,” and he swore to him. Israel bowed himself on the bed’s head.
