²และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสตอบข้าพเจ้าว่า "จงเขียนนิมิตนั้นลงไป จงเขียนไว้บนแผ่นป้ายให้กระจ่าง เพื่อให้คนที่วิ่งอ่านได้คล่อง

²Yahweh answered me, “Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he who runs may read it.

³เพราะว่านิมิตนั้นยังรอเวลาที่กำหนดไว้ แต่ในที่สุด มันก็จะกล่าวออกมา มันไม่มุสา ถ้าดูช้าไป ก็จงคอยสักหน่อย มันจะบังเกิดขึ้นเป็นแน่ คงไม่ล่าช้านัก

³For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won’t prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it; because it will surely come. It won’t delay.

⁴ดูเถิด ผู้ที่จิตใจผยองขึ้นก็ไม่เที่ยงธรรม แต่ว่าคนชอบธรรมจะมีชีวิตดำรงอยู่โดยความเชื่อ

⁴Behold, his soul is puffed up. It is not upright in him, but the righteous will live by his faith.

⁶Won’t all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, ‘Woe to him who increases that which is not his, and who enriches himself by extortion! How long?’

⁷ลูกหนี้ของเจ้าจะไม่ลุกขึ้นมาในปัจจุบันทันด่วนหรือ และผู้ใดที่กระทำให้เจ้าตัวสั่นจะไม่ตื่นขึ้นหรือ แล้วเจ้าก็จะถูกเขาริบบ้างละ

⁷Won’t your debtors rise up suddenly, and wake up those who make you tremble, and you will be their victim?

⁸เพราะว่าเจ้าได้ปล้นมาแล้วหลายประชาชาติ ชนชาชาติทั้งหลายที่เหลืออยู่นั้นจึงจะมาปล้นเจ้า เพราะเจ้าทำให้โลหิตมนุษย์ตก และเพราะการทารุณต่อแผ่นดิน ต่อบรรดาหัวเมืองและต่อบรรดาผู้ที่อยู่ในเมืองนั้น

⁸Because you have plundered many nations, all the remnant of the peoples will plunder you, because of men’s blood, and for the violence done to the land, to the city and to all who dwell in it.

⁹วิบัติแก่ผู้ที่อยากได้กำไรมาสู่เรือนของตนด้วยความชั่ว เพื่อจะวางรังของตัวให้สูงเด่นขึ้น เพื่อให้พ้นจากฤทธิ์อำนาจของความชั่วร้าย

⁹Woe to him who gets an evil gain for his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the hand of evil!

¹¹เพราะว่าศิลาจะตะโกนออกมาจากผนัง และขื่อก็จะตอบสนองมาจากหมู่ตัวไม้ในเรือน

¹¹For the stone will cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the woodwork will answer it.

¹²วิบัติแก่ผู้สร้างเมืองด้วยโลหิต และวางรากนครไว้ด้วยความชั่วช้า

¹²Woe to him who builds a town with blood, and establishes a city by iniquity!

¹³ดูเถิด ที่บรรดาชนชาติทำงานก็เพื่อแก่ไฟ และที่ชนชาติทั้งหลายทำจนเหน็ดเหนื่อยก็เพื่อแก่การไร้สาระ มิได้เป็นเช่นนี้เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาดอกหรือ

¹³Behold, isn’t it of Yahweh of Armies that the peoples labor for the fire, and the nations weary themselves for vanity?

¹⁴เพราะว่าพิภพจะเต็มไปด้วยความรู้ในเรื่องสง่าราศีของพระเยโฮวาห์ดังน้ำที่เต็มทะเล

¹⁴For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of Yahweh, as the waters cover the sea.

¹⁵วิบัติแก่ผู้นั้นที่ให้เพื่อนบ้านดื่ม ที่ยื่นขวดไปให้เขาและทำให้เขาเมาไป เพื่อจะเพ่งดูความเปลือยเปล่าของเพื่อนบ้าน

¹⁵“Woe to him who gives his neighbor drink, pouring your inflaming wine until they are drunk, so that you may gaze at their naked bodies!

¹⁶You are filled with shame, and not glory. You will also drink, and be exposed! The cup of Yahweh’s right hand will come around to you, and disgrace will cover your glory.

¹⁷เนื่องด้วยความทารุณที่เจ้ากระทำแก่เลบานอนจะท่วมเจ้า ความพินาศของสัตว์เดียรัจฉานซึ่งกระทำให้เขากลัว เพราะเจ้าทำให้โลหิตมนุษย์ตก และด้วยเหตุความรุนแรงต่อแผ่นดิน ต่อบรรดาหัวเมืองและต่อบรรดาผู้ที่อยู่ในเมืองนั้น

¹⁷For the violence done to Lebanon will overwhelm you, and the destruction of the animals, which made them afraid; because of men’s blood, and for the violence done to the land, to every city and to those who dwell in them.

¹⁸รูปแกะสลักให้ประโยชน์อะไรเล่า รูปที่ช่างได้แกะสลักไว้ รูปหล่ออันเป็นครูสอนความเท็จให้ประโยชน์อะไร ที่ช่างจะวางใจในสิ่งที่เขาสร้างขึ้น ที่ช่างจะสร้างพระใบ้

¹⁸“What value does the engraved image have, that its maker has engraved it; the molten image, even the teacher of lies, that he who fashions its form trusts in it, to make mute idols?

²⁰แต่พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงสถิตในพระวิหารบริสุทธิ์ของพระองค์ จงให้สิ้นทั้งพิภพอยู่สงบต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์เถิด"

²⁰But Yahweh is in his holy temple. Let all the earth be silent before him!”
