1"ท่านโยบเจ้าข้า อย่างไรก็ตามขอฟังคำของข้าพเจ้า และฟังถ้อยคำทั้งสิ้นของข้าพเจ้า
1“However, Job, please hear my speech, and listen to all my words.
2ดูเถิด บัดนี้ข้าพเจ้าได้อ้าปาก ลิ้นภายในปากของข้าพเจ้าก็พูด
2See now, I have opened my mouth. My tongue has spoken in my mouth.
3ถ้อยคำของข้าพเจ้าสำแดงความเที่ยงธรรมแห่งจิตใจ และริมฝีปากของข้าพเจ้าจะกล่าวความรู้อย่างจริงใจ
3My words shall utter the uprightness of my heart. That which my lips know they shall speak sincerely.
4พระวิญญาณของพระเจ้าได้ทรงสร้างข้าพเจ้า และลมปราณขององค์ผู้ทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์ได้ให้ชีวิตแก่ข้าพเจ้า
4The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
5ถ้าท่านตอบข้าพเจ้าได้ ก็ตอบซี จงลำดับถ้อยคำของท่านต่อหน้าข้าพเจ้า เชิญเถอะ
5If you can, answer me. Set your words in order before me, and stand forth.
6ดูเถิด ข้าพเจ้าอยู่อย่างท่านตรงพระพักตร์พระเจ้า พระองค์ทรงปั้นข้าพเจ้าขึ้นมาจากดินด้วยเหมือนกัน
6Behold, I am toward God even as you are. I am also formed out of the clay.
7ดูเถิด อย่าให้ความกลัวข้าพเจ้ากระทำให้ท่านตกใจ ข้าพเจ้าจะไม่ชักชวนท่านหนักเกินไป
7Behold, my terror shall not make you afraid, neither shall my pressure be heavy on you.
8แน่ละ ท่านพูดให้ข้าพเจ้าฟัง และข้าพเจ้าได้ยินเสียงถ้อยคำของท่านว่า
8“Surely you have spoken in my hearing, I have heard the voice of your words, saying,
9`ข้าพเจ้าสะอาด ปราศจากการละเมิด ข้าพเจ้าบริสุทธิ์ ไม่มีความชั่วช้าในข้าพเจ้าเลย
9‘I am clean, without disobedience. I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me.
10ดูเถิด พระองค์ทรงหาเรื่องกับข้าพเจ้า พระองค์ทรงนับว่าข้าพเจ้าเป็นศัตรูกับพระองค์
10Behold, he finds occasions against me. He counts me for his enemy.
11พระองค์ทรงเอาเท้าของข้าพเจ้าใส่ขื่อไว้ และทรงเฝ้าดูทางของข้าพเจ้าทั้งสิ้น'
11He puts my feet in the stocks. He marks all my paths.’
12ดูเถิด ในเรื่องนี้ท่านไม่ยุติธรรมเลย ข้าพเจ้าจะตอบท่าน พระเจ้าใหญ่ยิ่งกว่ามนุษย์
12“Behold, I will answer you. In this you are not just, for God is greater than man.
13ทำไมท่านจึงโต้แย้งกับพระองค์ เพราะพระองค์ไม่ทรงรายงานเรื่องพระราชกิจใดๆของพระองค์เลย
13Why do you strive against him, because he doesn’t give account of any of his matters?
14เพราะพระเจ้าตรัสครั้งหนึ่ง เออ สองครั้ง แต่มนุษย์ไม่หยั่งรู้ได้
14For God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention.
15ในความฝัน ในนิมิตกลางคืนเมื่อคนหลับสนิท เมื่อเขาเคลิบเคลิ้มอยู่บนที่นอนของเขา
15In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, in slumbering on the bed;
16แล้วพระองค์ทรงเบิกหูของมนุษย์ และทรงประทับตราคำสั่งสอนของเขาไว้
16Then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction,
17เพื่อว่าพระองค์จะได้หันให้มนุษย์กลับจากเป้าหมายของเขา และตัดความเย่อหยิ่งออกเสียจากมนุษย์
17That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
18พระองค์ทรงยึดเหนี่ยววิญญาณของเขาไว้จากปากแดนคนตาย และยึดชีวิตของเขาไว้จากการที่จะพินาศด้วยดาบ
18He keeps back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
19มนุษย์ยังถูกตีสอนด้วยความเจ็บปวดบนที่นอนของเขาด้วย และด้วยความเจ็บปวดอย่างสาหัสในกระดูกต่างๆของเขา
19He is chastened also with pain on his bed, with continual strife in his bones;
20ชีวิตของเขาจึงได้เบื่ออาหาร และจิตใจจึงได้เบื่ออาหารโอชะ
20So that his life abhors bread, and his soul dainty food.
21เนื้อของเขาทรุดโทรมไปมากจนมองไม่เห็น กระดูกของเขาซึ่งแลไม่เห็นนั้นก็โผล่ออกมา
21His flesh is so consumed away, that it can’t be seen. His bones that were not seen stick out.
22เออ วิญญาณของเขาเข้าไปใกล้ปากแดนคนตาย และชีวิตของเขาใกล้ผู้ที่นำความตายมา
22Yes, his soul draws near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers.
23ถ้ามีผู้ส่งข่าวผู้หนึ่งมาเพื่อเขาเป็นล่าม หนึ่งในพันเพื่อแถลงแก่มนุษย์ว่าอะไรถูกเพื่อเขา
23“If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him;
24และผู้ส่งข่าวนั้นกรุณาเขา ทูลว่า `ขอทรงปล่อยเขาให้พ้นจากที่จะไปยังปากแดนคนตาย ข้าพระองค์พบค่าไถ่แล้ว
24then God is gracious to him, and says, ‘Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.’
25เนื้อของเขาจะอ่อนกว่าเนื้อเด็ก ขอให้เขากลับไปสู่กำลังเหมือนเมื่อยังหนุ่ม'
25His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s. He returns to the days of his youth.
26เขาจึงจะอธิษฐานต่อพระเจ้า และพระองค์จะทรงพอพระทัยเขา เขาจะเห็นพระพักตร์พระองค์ด้วยความชื่นบาน แล้วพระองค์จะทรงให้มนุษย์กลับสู่สภาพความชอบธรรม
26He prays to God, and he is favorable to him, so that he sees his face with joy. He restores to man his righteousness.
27พระองค์ทรงทอดพระเนตรมนุษย์ และถ้าผู้ใดกล่าวว่า `ข้าบาปแล้ว และเห็นผิดเป็นชอบ และมิได้เป็นประโยชน์อะไรแก่ข้า'
27He sings before men, and says, ‘I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it didn’t profit me.
28พระองค์จะทรงไถ่จิตวิญญาณของเขาให้พ้นจากการลงไปสู่ปากแดนคนตาย และชีวิตของเขาจะเห็นความสว่าง
28He has redeemed my soul from going into the pit. My life shall see the light.’
29ดูเถิด พระเจ้าทรงกระทำสิ่งเหล่านี้ทั้งสิ้นกับมนุษย์บ่อยๆหลายครั้ง
29“Behold, God works all these things, twice, yes three times, with a man,
30เพื่อจะนำจิตวิญญาณของเขามาจากปากแดนคนตาย เพื่อให้เขาแจ่มแจ้งขึ้นด้วยความสว่างแห่งผู้ทรงมีชีวิต
30to bring back his soul from the pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of the living.
31โอ ท่านโยบเจ้าข้า ขอตั้งใจฟังข้าพเจ้า ขอเงียบ และข้าพเจ้าจะพูด
31Mark well, Job, and listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will speak.
32ถ้าท่านมีอะไรพูดก็ตอบข้าพเจ้ามาเถอะ เพราะข้าพเจ้าปรารถนาแก้คดีให้ท่าน
32If you have anything to say, answer me. Speak, for I desire to justify you.
33ถ้าหาไม่ก็ขอฟังข้าพเจ้า ขอเงียบและข้าพเจ้าจะสอนปัญญาให้แก่ท่าน"
33If not, listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will teach you wisdom.”
