1เอลีฮูพูดต่อไปว่า
1Moreover Elihu answered,
2"ท่านคิดว่า นี่ยุติธรรมหรือ ท่านพูดหรือว่า `ความชอบธรรมของข้าพเจ้ายิ่งกว่าของพระเจ้า'
2“Do you think this to be your right, or do you say, ‘My righteousness is more than God’s,’
3ที่ท่านถามว่า `ข้าพเจ้าจะได้ประโยชน์อะไร' และ `ข้าพเจ้าจะได้ประโยชน์อะไรถ้าข้าพเจ้าได้รับการชำระจากบาปของข้าพเจ้า'
3That you ask, ‘What advantage will it be to you? What profit shall I have, more than if I had sinned?’
4ข้าพเจ้าจะตอบท่านกับมิตรสหายของท่านด้วย
4I will answer you, and your companions with you.
5จงมองดูท้องฟ้าเถิด ดูเมฆซึ่งอยู่สูงกว่าท่าน
5Look to the heavens, and see. See the skies, which are higher than you.
6ถ้าท่านทำบาป ท่านจะได้อะไรที่กระทบกระเทือนพระองค์ ถ้าการละเมิดของท่านทวีขึ้น ท่านทำอะไรแก่พระองค์
6If you have sinned, what effect do you have against him? If your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him?
7ถ้าท่านเป็นคนชอบธรรม ท่านถวายอะไรแก่พระองค์ หรือพระองค์ทรงรับอะไรจากมือของท่าน
7If you are righteous, what do you give him? Or what does he receive from your hand?
8ความชั่วของท่านก็เป็นอันตรายแก่คนอย่างท่าน และความชอบธรรมของท่านก็เป็นประโยชน์แก่บุตรมนุษย์
8Your wickedness may hurt a man as you are, and your righteousness may profit a son of man.
9เหตุด้วยการถูกบีบบังคับเป็นอันมาก ก็ทำให้ผู้ที่ถูกบีบบังคับนั้นร้องทุกข์ เขาร้องขอความช่วยเหลือเนื่องด้วยแขนของผู้ทรงอำนาจ
9“By reason of the multitude of oppressions they cry out. They cry for help by reason of the arm of the mighty.
10แต่ไม่มีสักคนพูดว่า `พระเจ้าผู้ทรงสร้างข้าพเจ้า ผู้ทรงประทานเพลงในเวลากลางคืน ทรงอยู่ที่ไหน
10But none says, ‘Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night,
11ผู้ทรงสอนเรามากกว่าสอนสัตว์แห่งแผ่นดินโลก และทรงกระทำให้เราฉลาดกว่านกในฟ้าอากาศ'
11who teaches us more than the animals of the earth, and makes us wiser than the birds of the sky?’
12เขาร้องทุกข์ ณ ที่นั่น แต่ไม่มีผู้ใดตอบเขา เหตุความเย่อหยิ่งของคนชั่ว
12There they cry, but none gives answer, because of the pride of evil men.
13แน่ละ พระเจ้ามิได้ฟังสิ่งไร้สาระ และองค์ผู้ทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์ก็มิได้ทรงนับถือเสียงนั้น
13Surely God will not hear an empty cry, neither will the Almighty regard it.
14ถึงแม้ท่านว่า ท่านจะไม่เห็นพระองค์ แต่คดีนั้นก็อยู่ต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์ ฉะนั้นท่านจงวางใจในพระองค์อยู่
14How much less when you say you don’t see him. The cause is before him, and you wait for him!
15บัดนี้ เพราะไม่เป็นเช่นนั้น พระพิโรธของพระองค์ได้ลงโทษ แต่พระองค์มิได้สนพระทัยการละเมิดเสียมากมาย
15But now, because he has not visited in his anger, neither does he greatly regard arrogance.
16เพราะฉะนั้นโยบจึงอ้าปากพูดคำลมๆแล้งๆ และทวีคำพูดโดยปราศจากความรู้"
16Therefore Job opens his mouth with empty talk, and he multiplies words without knowledge.”
