1"เรื่องนี้กระทำให้หัวใจของข้าพเจ้าสั่นรัว สะทกสะท้านขวัญหนีดีฝ่อ
1“Yes, at this my heart trembles, and is moved out of its place.
2จงตั้งใจฟังเสียงกัมปนาทของพระองค์ และเสียงกระหึ่มที่ออกมาจากพระโอษฐ์ของพระองค์
2Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, the sound that goes out of his mouth.
3พระองค์ทรงปล่อยให้ไปทั่วใต้ฟ้าทั้งสิ้น และฟ้าแลบของพระองค์ไปถึงสุดปลายแผ่นดินโลก
3He sends it forth under the whole sky, and his lightning to the ends of the earth.
4พระสุรเสียงของพระองค์ครางกระหึ่มตามไป พระองค์ทรงแผดพระสุรเสียงอันโอฬารึกของพระองค์ พระองค์มิได้ทรงหน่วงเหนี่ยวฟ้าแลบ เมื่อได้ยินพระสุรเสียงของพระองค์
4After it a voice roars. He thunders with the voice of his majesty. He doesn’t hold back anything when his voice is heard.
5พระเจ้าทรงสำแดงกัมปนาทอย่างประหลาดด้วยพระสุรเสียงของพระองค์ พระองค์ทรงกระทำการใหญ่โตซึ่งเราเข้าใจไม่ได้
5God thunders marvelously with his voice. He does great things, which we can’t comprehend.
6เพราะพระองค์ตรัสกับหิมะว่า `ตกลงบนแผ่นดินซี' และในทำนองเดียวกันก็ตรัสกับฝน และกับห่าฝนอันหนักแห่งกำลังของพระองค์
6For he says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth;’ likewise to the shower of rain, and to the showers of his mighty rain.
7พระองค์ทรงมัดมือของมนุษย์ทุกคน เพื่อทุกคนจะรู้จักพระราชกิจของพระองค์
7He seals up the hand of every man, that all men whom he has made may know it.
8แล้วสัตว์ป่าจึงเข้าไปสู่รังของมัน และพักอยู่ในถ้ำของมัน
8Then the animals take cover, and remain in their dens.
9ลมบ้าหมูออกมาจากห้องทิศใต้ และความหนาวมาจากลมเหนือ
9Out of its room comes the storm, and cold out of the north.
10พระเจ้าประทานน้ำค้างแข็งด้วยลมหายใจของพระองค์ และน้ำกว้างใหญ่ก็แข็งตัว
10By the breath of God, ice is given, and the breadth of the waters is frozen.
11เช่นเดียวกันพระองค์ทรงบรรทุกความชุ่มชื้นไว้ที่เมฆทึบ พระองค์ทรงกระจายเมฆแห่งฟ้าแลบออกไป
11Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture. He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning.
12มันหันไปๆตามการนำของพระองค์ เพื่อให้มันทำตามที่พระองค์ทรงบัญชามันไว้เหนือผิวพิภพโลกนี้
12It is turned around by his guidance, that they may do whatever he commands them on the surface of the habitable world,
13ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเพื่อการตีสอน หรือเพื่อแผ่นดินของพระองค์หรือเพื่อความเมตตา พระองค์ทรงกระทำให้สิ่งเหล่านี้เกิดขึ้น
13Whether it is for correction, or for his land, or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come.
14โอ ท่านโยบเจ้าข้า ขอฟังข้อนี้ จงนิ่งพิจารณาการกระทำอันมหัศจรรย์ของพระเจ้า
14“Listen to this, Job. Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
15ท่านทราบหรือว่าพระเจ้าทรงกำชับมันอย่างไร และกระทำให้ฟ้าแลบแห่งเมฆของพระองค์มีแสง
15Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?
16ท่านทราบถึงการทรงตัวของเมฆหรือ เป็นพระราชกิจอันประหลาดของพระองค์ผู้สมบูรณ์ในความรู้
16Do you know the workings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?
17ตัวท่าน ผู้ที่เสื้อผ้าของตนร้อนเมื่อแผ่นดินโลกอบอ้าวและชื้นเพราะลมทิศใต้
17You whose clothing is warm, when the earth is still by reason of the south wind?
18ท่านแผ่ฟ้าออกไปพร้อมกับพระองค์ได้หรือ ให้แข็งอย่างคันฉ่องหลอม
18Can you, with him, spread out the sky, which is strong as a cast metal mirror?
19จงสอนเรามาว่าเราควรจะทูลพระองค์อย่างไร เพราะความมืดเราจึงร่างสำนวนของเราไม่ได้
19Teach us what we shall tell him, for we can’t make our case by reason of darkness.
20จะทูลพระองค์ได้ไหมว่า ข้าพเจ้าอยากจะทูล ถ้าผู้ใดทูล เขาจะต้องถูกกลืนไปหมดเป็นแน่
20Shall it be told him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?
21บัดนี้มนุษย์เพ่งดูฟ้าแลบอันสุกใสแห่งเมฆไม่ได้ เมื่อลมผ่านไปกวาดให้กระจ่าง
21Now men don’t see the light which is bright in the skies, but the wind passes, and clears them.
22แสงทองส่องมาจากทิศเหนือ พระเจ้าทรงฉลองพระองค์ด้วยความโอ่อ่าตระการอย่างน่าคร้ามกลัว
22Out of the north comes golden splendor. With God is awesome majesty.
23องค์ผู้ทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์นั้น เราจะค้นพบพระองค์ไม่ได้ พระองค์ใหญ่ยิ่งในเรื่องฤทธานุภาพ ความยุติธรรมและความเที่ยงธรรมอันมากยิ่ง พระองค์จะไม่ทรงฝ่าฝืน
23We can’t reach the Almighty. He is exalted in power. In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress.
24เพราะฉะนั้นมนุษย์จึงยำเกรงพระองค์ พระองค์ไม่ทรงนับถือผู้ใดที่มีใจประกอบด้วยสติปัญญา"
24Therefore men revere him. He doesn’t regard any who are wise of heart.”
