1แล้วพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงตอบโยบออกมาจากลมบ้าหมูว่า
1Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind,
2"นี่ใครหนอที่ให้คำปรึกษามืดมนไปด้วยถ้อยคำอันปราศจากความรู้
2“Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?
3จงคาดเอวไว้อย่างกับลูกผู้ชายหน่อยซิ เราจะถามเจ้า ขอเจ้าตอบเรา
3Brace yourself like a man, for I will question you, then you answer me!
4เมื่อเราวางรากฐานของแผ่นดินโลกนั้น เจ้าอยู่ที่ไหน ถ้าเจ้ามีความเข้าใจก็บอกเรามา
4“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding.
5ผู้ใดได้กำหนดขนาดให้โลก แน่นอนละ เจ้าต้องรู้ซี หรือใครขึงเชือกวัดบนนั้น
5Who determined its measures, if you know? Or who stretched the line on it?
6รากฐานของโลกจมไปอยู่บนอะไร หรือผู้ใดวางศิลามุมเอกของมัน
6Whereupon were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone,
7ในเมื่อดาวรุ่งแซ่ซ้องสรรเสริญ และบรรดาบุตรชายทั้งหลายของพระเจ้าโห่ร้องด้วยความชื่นบาน
7when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8หรือผู้ใดเอาประตูปิดทะเลไว้ เมื่อมันระเบิดออกมาดังออกมาจากครรภ์
8“Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke forth from the womb,
9เมื่อเราสร้างเมฆให้เป็นเสื้อ และความมืดทึบเป็นผ้าอ้อมของมัน
9when I made clouds its garment, and wrapped it in thick darkness,
10แล้วกำหนดเขตให้มัน และวางดาลและประตู
10marked out for it my bound, set bars and doors,
11และกล่าวว่า `เจ้าไปได้ไกลแค่นี้แหละ อย่าเลยไปอีก และคลื่นคะนองของเจ้าหยุดเพียงแค่นี้แหละ'
11and said, ‘Here you may come, but no further. Here your proud waves shall be stayed?’
12เจ้าได้บังคับบัญชาอรุณตั้งแต่เจ้าเกิดมา และเป็นเหตุให้อรุโณทัยรู้จักที่ของมันหรือ
12“Have you commanded the morning in your days, and caused the dawn to know its place;
13เพื่อมันจะจับปลายแผ่นดินโลก และสลัดคนชั่วออกไปเสียจากโลก
13that it might take hold of the ends of the earth, and shake the wicked out of it?
14โลกก็เปลี่ยนไปเหมือนดินเหนียวถูกตราประทับ และทุกสิ่งเด่นออกมาเหมือนเสื้อผ้า
14It is changed as clay under the seal, and stands forth as a garment.
15แสงสว่างถูกยึดไว้เสียจากคนชั่วร้าย และแขนของเขาที่เงื้อขึ้นก็ถูกหักเสีย
15From the wicked, their light is withheld. The high arm is broken.
16เจ้าเข้าไปในตาน้ำแห่งทะเลแล้วหรือ หรือเดินเข้าไปในซอกมหาสมุทรแล้วหรือ
16“Have you entered into the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in the recesses of the deep?
17เขาเผยประตูความตายแก่เจ้าแล้วหรือ หรือเจ้าได้เห็นประตูเงามัจจุราชแล้วหรือ
17Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the gates of the shadow of death?
18เจ้าหยั่งรู้ความกว้างใหญ่ของแผ่นดินโลกหรือ ถ้าเจ้ารู้ทั้งหมดนี้ก็จงบอกมา
18Have you comprehended the earth in its breadth? Declare, if you know it all.
19ทางที่จะนำไปสู่สำนักของความสว่างอยู่ที่ไหน และส่วนที่มืด สถานที่นั้นอยู่ที่ไหน
19“What is the way to the dwelling of light? As for darkness, where is its place,
20เพื่อเจ้าจะได้พามันไปยังแดนของมัน และเพื่อเจ้าจะได้เห็นทางไปบ้านของมัน
20that you should take it to its bound, that you should discern the paths to its house?
21เจ้าคงรู้เพราะเจ้าเกิดมาแล้วอายุของเจ้าก็มากเหลือหลาย
21Surely you know, for you were born then, and the number of your days is great!
22เจ้าเข้าไปในคลังหิมะแล้วหรือ หรือเจ้าเห็นคลังลูกเห็บแล้วหรือ
22Have you entered the treasuries of the snow, or have you seen the treasures of the hail,
23ซึ่งเราสงวนไว้เพื่อเวลายากลำบาก เพื่อวันศึกและสงคราม
23which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?
24ทางที่จะไปสู่ที่ซึ่งความสว่างแจกจ่ายออกไปนั้นอยู่ที่ไหน หรือที่ซึ่งลมตะวันออกกระจายไปบนแผ่นดินโลกอยู่ที่ไหน
24By what way is the lightning distributed, or the east wind scattered on the earth?
25ใครเซาะช่องให้กระแสฝนและทำทางให้ฟ้าผ่า
25Who has cut a channel for the flood water, or the path for the thunderstorm;
26ให้นำฝนมาบนแผ่นดินที่ไม่มีคนอยู่ และบนถิ่นทุรกันดารซึ่งไม่มีมนุษย์ที่นั่น
26To cause it to rain on a land where no man is; on the wilderness, in which there is no man;
27เพื่อให้พื้นดินที่รกร้างและว่างเปล่าได้อิ่มเอม และกระทำให้หน่อของต้นอ่อนงอกขึ้น
27to satisfy the waste and desolate ground, to cause the tender grass to spring forth?
28ฝนมีพ่อหรือ หรือผู้ใดได้กระทำให้เกิดหยาดน้ำค้าง
28Does the rain have a father? Or who fathers the drops of dew?
29น้ำแข็งมาจากครรภ์ของผู้ใด ผู้ใดให้กำเนิดแก่ปุยน้ำค้างแข็งแห่งฟ้าสวรรค์
29Out of whose womb came the ice? The gray frost of the sky, who has given birth to it?
30น้ำถูกซ่อนไว้เหมือนมีหินปิดบัง และผิวมหาสมุทรแข็งตัว
30The waters become hard like stone, when the surface of the deep is frozen.
31เจ้ามัดหมู่ดาวลูกไก่ให้เป็นกลุ่มได้หรือ หรือแก้เครื่องผูกหมู่ดาวไถได้หรือ
31“Can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades, or loosen the cords of Orion?
32เจ้านำดาวนักษัตรออกมาตามฤดูของมันได้หรือ หรือเจ้านำทางของหมู่ดาวจระเข้และลูกของมันได้ไหม
32Can you lead forth the constellations in their season? Or can you guide the Bear with her cubs?
33เจ้ารู้กฎของฟ้าสวรรค์หรือเปล่า เจ้าตั้งฟ้าสวรรค์ให้ครอบครองแผ่นดินได้หรือ
33Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you establish its dominion over the earth?
34เจ้าตะเบ็งเสียงไปถึงเมฆได้ไหมล่ะ เพื่อน้ำมากมายจะลงมาคลุมเจ้า
34“Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, That abundance of waters may cover you?
35เจ้าใช้ฟ้าแลบออกไปเพื่อให้มันไปและพูดกับเจ้าว่า `เราอยู่ที่นี่' ได้ไหม
35Can you send forth lightnings, that they may go? Do they report to you, ‘Here we are?’
36ใครให้สติปัญญาภายใน หรือให้ความเข้าใจแก่จิตใจ
36Who has put wisdom in the inward parts? Or who has given understanding to the mind?
37ใครจะนับเมฆด้วยสติปัญญาได้ หรือใครจะเอียงถุงน้ำของท้องฟ้าได้
37Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the bottles of the sky,
38เมื่อผงคลีแข็งอย่างโลหะหลอม เมื่อก้อนดินเกาะกันแน่นหรือ
38when the dust runs into a mass, and the clods of earth stick together?
39เจ้าล่าเหยื่อให้สิงโตได้หรือ หรือให้สิงโตหนุ่มที่หิวอิ่มได้ไหมล่ะ
39“Can you hunt the prey for the lioness, or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
40เมื่อมันหมอบอยู่ในถ้ำของมัน หรือนอนคอยอยู่ในที่กำบัง
40when they crouch in their dens, and lie in wait in the thicket?
41ใครจัดหาเหยื่อให้กา เมื่อลูกอ่อนของมันร้องต่อพระเจ้า และระเหระหนไปเพราะขาดอาหาร"
41Who provides for the raven his prey, when his young ones cry to God, and wander for lack of food?
