¹แล้วโยบทูลพระเยโฮวาห์ว่า

¹Then Job answered Yahweh,

²"ข้าพระองค์ทราบแล้วว่า พระองค์ทรงกระทำทุกสิ่งได้ และพระประสงค์ของพระองค์จะไม่หดหู่ไปได้เลย

²“I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be restrained.

³`นี่ใครหนอที่ซ่อนคำปรึกษาด้วยไร้ความรู้' เพราะฉะนั้น ข้าพระองค์จึงกล่าวถึงสิ่งที่ข้าพระองค์ไม่เข้าใจ สิ่งที่ประหลาดเกินแก่ข้าพระองค์ ซึ่งข้าพระองค์ไม่ทราบ

³You asked, ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’ therefore I have uttered that which I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I didn’t know.

⁴`ฟังซี เราจะพูด เราจะถามเจ้า ขอเจ้าตอบเรา'

⁴You said, ‘Listen, now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you will answer me.’

⁵ข้าพระองค์เคยได้ยินถึงพระองค์ด้วยหู แต่บัดนี้ตาของข้าพระองค์เห็นพระองค์

⁵I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you.

⁶ฉะนั้นข้าพระองค์จึงเกลียดตนเอง และกลับใจอยู่ในผงคลีและขี้เถ้า"

⁶Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.”

⁷เมื่อพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสพระวจนะเหล่านี้แก่โยบแล้ว พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับเอลีฟัสชาวเทมานว่า "ความพิโรธของเราพลุ่งขึ้นต่อเจ้า และต่อสหายทั้งสองของเจ้า เพราะเจ้ามิได้พูดถึงเราอย่างที่ถูก ดังโยบผู้รับใช้ของเราได้พูด

⁷It was so, that after Yahweh had spoken these words to Job, Yahweh said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is kindled against you, and against your two friends; for you have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has.

⁸เพราะฉะนั้นจงเอาวัวผู้เจ็ดตัว และแกะผู้เจ็ดตัว ไปหาโยบผู้รับใช้ของเรา และถวายเครื่องเผาบูชาสำหรับเจ้าทั้งหลาย และโยบผู้รับใช้ของเราจะอธิษฐานเพื่อเจ้า เพราะเราจะยอมรับเขา เกรงว่าเรากระทำกับเจ้าตามความโง่ของเจ้า เพราะเจ้าทั้งหลายมิได้พูดถึงเราอย่างที่ถูก ดังโยบผู้รับใช้ของเราได้พูด"

⁸Now therefore, take to yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept him, that I not deal with you according to your folly. For you have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has.”

⁹ฝ่ายเอลีฟัสชาวเทมาน และบิลดัดคนชูอาห์ และโศฟาร์ชาวนาอาเมห์ ได้ไปกระทำตามที่พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสสั่ง และพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงยอมรับโยบ

⁹So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did what Yahweh commanded them, and Yahweh accepted Job.

¹⁰และพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงให้โยบกลับสู่สภาพดี เมื่อท่านอธิษฐานเผื่อสหายของท่าน และพระเยโฮวาห์ประทานให้โยบมีมากเป็นสองเท่าของที่มีอยู่ก่อน

¹⁰Yahweh turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends. Yahweh gave Job twice as much as he had before.

¹¹และบรรดาพี่น้องชายหญิงของท่าน และบรรดาผู้ที่รู้จักท่านมาก่อนได้มาหาท่าน และรับประทานอาหารกับท่านในบ้านของท่าน และเขาทั้งหลายสำแดงความเห็นอกเห็นใจและเล้าโลมท่าน ด้วยเรื่องเหตุร้ายทั้งสิ้นซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงนำมาเหนือท่าน และต่างก็ให้เงินแผ่นหนึ่งกับแหวนทองคำวงหนึ่งแก่ท่าน

¹¹Then came there to him all his brothers, and all his sisters, and all those who had been of his acquaintance before, and ate bread with him in his house. They comforted him, and consoled him concerning all the evil that Yahweh had brought on him. Everyone also gave him a piece of money, literally, kesitah, a unit of money, probably silver and everyone a ring of gold.

¹²และพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงอำนวยพระพรชีวิตบั้นปลายของโยบมากยิ่งกว่าบั้นต้นของท่าน และท่านมีแกะหนึ่งหมื่นสี่พัน อูฐหกพัน วัวผู้พันคู่ และลาตัวเมียหนึ่งพัน

¹²So Yahweh blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand female donkeys.

¹³ท่านมีบุตรชายเจ็ดคน และบุตรสาวสามคนด้วย

¹³He had also seven sons and three daughters.

¹⁴และท่านเรียกชื่อคนแรกว่า เยมีมาห์ และชื่อคนที่สอง เคสิยาห์ และชื่อคนที่สาม เคเรนหัปปุค

¹⁴He called the name of the first, Jemimah; and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren Happuch.

¹⁵และในแผ่นดินนั้นทั้งสิ้นไม่มีหญิงใดงดงามเท่าบรรดาบุตรสาวของโยบ และบิดาของเขาได้ให้มรดกแก่เธอพร้อมกับพวกพี่ชายและน้องชายของเธอ

¹⁵In all the land were no women found so beautiful as the daughters of Job. Their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.

¹⁶ต่อจากนี้ไป โยบมีชีวิตอยู่อีกหนึ่งร้อยสี่สิบปี และได้เห็นบุตรชายของท่าน หลานเหลนของท่านสี่ชั่วอายุ

¹⁶After this Job lived one hundred forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, to four generations.

¹⁷และโยบก็สิ้นชีวิตเป็นคนแก่หง่อมทีเดียว

¹⁷So Job died, being old and full of days.
