1แล้วบิลดัดคนชูอาห์ตอบว่า
1Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,
2"ท่านจะพูดอย่างนี้อยู่นานเท่าใด และคำปากของท่านจะเป็นพายุนานสักเท่าใด
2“How long will you speak these things? Shall the words of your mouth be a mighty wind?
3พระเจ้าทรงผันแปรความยุติธรรมหรือ หรือองค์ผู้ทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์ผันแปรความเที่ยงธรรมหรือ
3Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert righteousness?
4ถ้าบุตรของท่านได้กระทำบาปต่อพระองค์ และพระองค์ทรงทอดทิ้งเขาทั้งหลายเพราะเหตุการละเมิดของเขา
4If your children have sinned against him, He has delivered them into the hand of their disobedience.
5ถ้าท่านจะหมั่นแสวงหาพระเจ้า และวิงวอนต่อองค์ผู้ทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์
5If you want to seek God diligently, make your supplication to the Almighty.
6ถ้าท่านบริสุทธิ์และเที่ยงธรรมแน่ละ บัดนี้พระองค์ก็จะทรงตื่นขึ้นเพื่อท่าน และทรงให้ที่อาศัยแห่งความชอบธรรมของท่านเจริญเป็นแน่
6If you were pure and upright, surely now he would awaken for you, and make the habitation of your righteousness prosperous.
7ถึงแม้การเริ่มต้นของท่านจะเล็กน้อย แต่ตอไปปลายๆจะใหญ่โตมากยิ่ง
7Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would greatly increase.
8ข้าขอร้อง ให้ท่านถามคนโบราณดู และคิดดูว่า บรรพบุรุษค้นพบสิ่งใดบ้าง
8“Please inquire of past generations. Find out about the learning of their fathers.
9(เพราะส่วนเราเหมือนอย่างเกิดวานนี้ จะรู้อะไรก็หาไม่ เพราะวันคืนของเราบนแผ่นดินโลกเปรียบเหมือนเงา)
9(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days on earth are a shadow.)
10เขาจะไม่สอนท่านและบอกท่าน และกล่าวคำจากใจของเขาหรือ
10Shall they not teach you, tell you, and utter words out of their heart?
11ต้นกกจะงอกขึ้นในที่ที่ไม่มีตมได้หรือ ต้นอ้อจะงอกงามในที่ที่ไม่มีน้ำได้หรือ
11“Can the papyrus grow up without mire? Can the rushes grow without water?
12ขณะที่มีดอกยังไม่ได้ตัดลง มันก็เหี่ยวแห้งไปก่อนต้นไม้อื่นๆ
12While it is yet in its greenness, not cut down, it withers before any other reed.
13ทางของบรรดาผู้ที่ลืมพระเจ้าก็เป็นอย่างนั้นแหละ ความหวังของคนหน้าซื่อใจคดจะพินาศไป
13So are the paths of all who forget God. The hope of the godless man shall perish,
14ความหวังใจของเขาหักสะบั้น และความไว้วางใจของเขาจะเหมือนใยแมงมุม
14Whose confidence shall break apart, Whose trust is a spider’s web.
15เขาพิงเรือนของเขา แต่มันทานไม่ไหว เขายึดมันไว้ แต่มันก็หาทนอยู่ไม่
15He shall lean on his house, but it shall not stand. He shall cling to it, but it shall not endure.
16เขาเขียวสดอยู่ต่อหน้าดวงอาทิตย์ และแขนงของเขาก็แผ่ออกเหนือสวนของเขา
16He is green before the sun. His shoots go forth over his garden.
17รากของเขาเลื้อยไปเกาะกองหิน และหยั่งลงไปในซอกก้อนหิน
17His roots are wrapped around the rock pile. He sees the place of stones.
18ถ้าพระองค์ทำลายเขาไปจากที่ของเขาแล้วที่นั้นจะปฏิเสธเขาว่า `ข้าไม่เคยเห็นเจ้า'
18If he is destroyed from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, ‘I have not seen you.’
19ดูเถิด นี่เป็นความชื่นบานแห่งทางของเขา และผู้อื่นจะงอกออกมาจากดิน
19Behold, this is the joy of his way: out of the earth, others shall spring.
20ดูเถิด พระเจ้าจะไม่ทรงทอดทิ้งคนดีรอบคอบ หรือค้ำจุนผู้กระทำความชั่วร้าย
20“Behold, God will not cast away a blameless man, neither will he uphold the evildoers.
21พระองค์ยังจะทรงให้ปากของท่านหัวเราะร่วน และทำให้ริมฝีปากของท่านโห่ร้องเสมอ
21He will still fill your mouth with laughter, your lips with shouting.
22คนเหล่านั้นที่เกลียดชังท่านจะห่มความอับอาย และที่อาศัยของคนชั่วจะไม่มีต่อไปอีกเลย"
22Those who hate you shall be clothed with shame. The tent of the wicked shall be no more.”
