¹ต่อมาเมื่อยาบินกษัตริย์เมืองฮาโซร์ได้ยินข่าวนี้ จึงใช้คนไปหาโยบับกษัตริย์เมืองมาโดนและไปหากษัตริย์เมืองชิมโรน และกษัตริย์เมืองอัคชาฟ

¹It happened, when Jabin king of Hazor heard of it, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, to the king of Shimron, to the king of Achshaph,

²และกษัตริย์ซึ่งอยู่ในแดนเทือกเขาตอนเหนือ และที่อยู่ในที่ราบใต้เมืองคินเนเรท และในหุบเขา และในบริเวณชายแดนของโดร์ทางทิศตะวันตก

²and to the kings who were on the north, in the hill country, in the Arabah south of Chinneroth, in the lowland, and in the heights of Dor on the west,

³และไปหาคนคานาอันทางทิศตะวันออกและทิศตะวันตก คนอาโมไรต์ คนฮิตไทต์ คนเปริสซี และคนเยบุสในแดนเทือกเขา และคนฮีไวต์อยู่เชิงเขาเฮอร์โมนในแผ่นดินมิสปาห์

³to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the hill country, and the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpah.

⁴กษัตริย์เหล่านี้ก็ยกออกมากับบรรดาพลโยธาเป็นกองทัพมหึมา มีจำนวนดังเม็ดทรายที่ชายทะเล มีม้าและรถรบมากมายด้วย

⁴They went out, they and all their armies with them, many people, even as the sand that is on the seashore in multitude, with very many horses and chariots.

⁵กษัตริย์เหล่านี้ได้ร่วมกำลังกันเข้าและมาตั้งค่ายอยู่ที่ลำห้วยเมโรม เพื่อจะสู้รบกับอิสราเอล

⁵All these kings met together; and they came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.

⁶และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับโยชูวาว่า "อย่ากลัวเขาเลย เพราะว่าพรุ่งนี้ในเวลาเดียวกันนี้ เราจะมอบเขาไว้หมดต่อหน้าอิสราเอลให้ถูกประหาร เอ็นน่องม้าของเขาให้เจ้าตัดเสีย และรถรบของเขา เจ้าจงเผาไฟเสีย"

⁶Yahweh said to Joshua, “Don’t be afraid because of them; for tomorrow at this time, I will deliver them up all slain before Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.”

⁷ฝ่ายโยชูวาก็ยกพลทั้งหลายเข้าโจมตีเขาทันทีที่ห้วยน้ำเมโรม

⁷So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly, and fell on them.

⁸และพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงมอบเขาไว้ในมืออิสราเอล ผู้ประหารเขาและไล่ตามเขาไปจนถึงมหาซีโดนและถึงมิสเรโฟทมาอิม และถึงหุบเขามิสปาห์ด้านตะวันออก ได้ประหารเขาเสียจนไม่ให้เหลือสักคนเดียว

⁸Yahweh delivered them into the hand of Israel, and they struck them, and chased them to great Sidon, and to Misrephoth Maim, and to the valley of Mizpeh eastward. They struck them until they left them none remaining.

⁹โยชูวาได้กระทำแก่เขาตามที่พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสสั่งไว้ คือได้ตัดเอ็นน่องม้าและเผารถรบเสียด้วยไฟ

⁹Joshua did to them as Yahweh told him. He hamstrung their horses and burnt their chariots with fire.

¹⁰ขณะนั้นโยชูวากลับมายึดเมืองฮาโซร์ และประหารกษัตริย์เมืองนั้นเสียด้วยดาบ เพราะว่าแต่ก่อนนี้ฮาโซร์เป็นหัวหน้าแห่งราชอาณาจักรเหล่านั้นทั้งหมด

¹⁰Joshua turned back at that time, and took Hazor, and struck its king with the sword: for Hazor used to be the head of all those kingdoms.

¹¹เขาได้ประหารบรรดาชาวเมืองนั้นเสียด้วยคมดาบ และทำลายเสียสิ้น สิ่งที่หายใจได้ไม่มีเหลือเลย และท่านก็เผาเมืองฮาโซร์เสียด้วยไฟ

¹¹They struck all the souls who were in it with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them. There was no one left who breathed. He burnt Hazor with fire.

¹²โยชูวายึดบรรดาหัวเมืองของกษัตริย์เหล่านั้นพร้อมกับกษัตริย์ทั้งหมด และประหารเสียด้วยคมดาบ ทำลายเขาสิ้น ดังที่โมเสสผู้รับใช้ของพระเยโฮวาห์ได้บัญชาไว้

¹²Joshua captured all the cities of those kings, with their kings, and he struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them; as Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded.

¹³แต่เมืองต่างๆที่อยู่บนเนินเขา อิสราเอลมิได้เผา เว้นแต่เมืองฮาโซร์เมืองเดียวที่โยชูวาเผาเสีย

¹³But as for the cities that stood on their mounds, Israel burned none of them, except Hazor only. Joshua burned that.

¹⁴สิ่งของต่างๆที่ริบได้จากเมืองเหล่านี้ ทั้งฝูงสัตว์ คนอิสราเอลได้ยึดเป็นของของตน แต่เขาได้ประหารมนุษย์ทุกคนเสียด้วยคมดาบ จนทำลายเสียสิ้น สิ่งใดที่หายใจได้เขาไม่ให้เหลืออยู่เลย

¹⁴The children of Israel took all the spoil of these cities, with the livestock, as spoils for themselves; but every man they struck with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them. They didn’t leave any who breathed.

¹⁵พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงบัญชาโมเสสผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์อย่างไร โมเสสก็บัญชาโยชูวาอย่างนั้น และโยชูวาก็กระทำตาม ท่านไม่ได้เว้นที่จะทำทุกอย่างซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงบัญชาโมเสสไว้

¹⁵As Yahweh commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua. Joshua did so. He left nothing undone of all that Yahweh commanded Moses.

¹⁶โยชูวายึดแผ่นดินนั้นทั้งสิ้นคือแดนเทือกเขา และภาคใต้ทั้งหมด และแผ่นดินโกเชนทั้งหมด และในหุบเขา ในที่ราบ และแดนเทือกเขาของอิสราเอล และในหุบเขาของมัน

¹⁶So Joshua captured all that land, the hill country, all the South, all the land of Goshen, the lowland, the Arabah, the hill country of Israel, and the lowland of the same;

¹⁷ตั้งแต่ภูเขาฮาลักที่สูงเรื่อยขึ้นไปถึงเสอีร์ ไกลไปจนถึงบาอัลกาดในหุบเขาเลบานอนเชิงภูเขาเฮอร์โมน ท่านได้จับบรรดากษัตริย์แห่งเมืองเหล่านั้นมาประหารชีวิตเสีย

¹⁷from Mount Halak, that goes up to Seir, even to Baal Gad in the valley of Lebanon under Mount Hermon. He took all their kings, struck them, and put them to death.

¹⁸โยชูวาทำศึกสงครามกับบรรดากษัตริย์เหล่านี้อยู่เป็นเวลานาน

¹⁸Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.

¹⁹ไม่มีสักเมืองหนึ่งที่กระทำสันติภาพกับคนอิสราเอล นอกจากคนฮีไวต์ ซึ่งเป็นชาวเมืองกิเบโอน เขาต้องทำศึกสงครามตีมาทั้งนั้น

¹⁹There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, except the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon. They took all in battle.

²⁰เพราะเป็นมาจากพระเยโฮวาห์ที่ทรงให้เขามีใจแข็งกระด้างเข้าต่อสู้ทำสงครามกับอิสราเอล เพื่อพระองค์จะได้ทรงทำลายเขาเสียสิ้น และเขาไม่ได้รับความกรุณา แต่พระองค์ต้องทำลายล้างเขาเสียสิ้น ดังที่พระเยโฮวาห์บัญชาไว้กับโมเสส

²⁰For it was of Yahweh to harden their hearts, to come against Israel in battle, that he might utterly destroy them, that they might have no favor, but that he might destroy them, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

²¹คราวนั้นโยชูวาได้มาขจัดคนอานาคออกจากแดนเทือกเขา จากเฮโบรน จากเดบีร์ จากอานาบ และจากทั่วแดนเทือกเขาแห่งยูดาห์ และจากทั่วแดนเทือกเขาแห่งอิสราเอล โยชูวาได้ทำลายคนเหล่านี้เสียสิ้นพร้อมทั้งเมืองทั้งหลายของพวกเขาด้วย

²¹Joshua came at that time, and cut off the Anakim from the hill country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the hill country of Judah, and from all the hill country of Israel: Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities.

²²ไม่มีคนอานาคเหลืออยู่ในแผ่นดินของประชาชนอิสราเอล เว้นแต่ในกาซา กัทและอัชโดด ที่ยังมีเหลืออยู่บ้าง

²²There were none of the Anakim left in the land of the children of Israel. Only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, did some remain.

²³ดังนั้นแหละ โยชูวาได้ยึดแผ่นดินทั้งสิ้นตามสารพัดที่พระเยโฮวาห์ได้ตรัสไว้กับโมเสส และโยชูวาให้เป็นมรดกแก่คนอิสราเอลตามส่วนแบ่งของแต่ละตระกูล และแผ่นดินนั้นก็สงบจากการศึกสงคราม

²³So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that Yahweh spoke to Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. The land had rest from war.
