¹ฝ่ายนาดับกับอาบีฮูบุตรชายของอาโรน ต่างนำกระถางไฟของเขามาและเอาไฟใส่ในนั้นแล้วใส่เครื่องหอมลง เอาไฟที่ผิดรูปแบบมาเผาถวายบูชาต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์ ซึ่งพระองค์มิได้ทรงบัญชาให้เขากระทำเช่นนั้น

¹Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer, and put fire in it, and laid incense on it, and offered strange fire before Yahweh, which he had not commanded them.

²ไฟก็พุ่งขึ้นมาจากพระเยโฮวาห์ ไหม้เขาทั้งสองและเขาก็ตายต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์

²And fire came forth from before Yahweh, and devoured them, and they died before Yahweh.

³โมเสสจึงบอกอาโรนว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า `เราจะสำแดงความบริสุทธิ์ของเราท่ามกลางผู้ที่อยู่ใกล้เรา เขาจะถวายสง่าราศีแก่เราต่อหน้าพลไพร่ทั้งปวง'" และอาโรนก็นิ่งอยู่

³Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what Yahweh spoke of, saying, ‘I will show myself holy to those who come near me, and before all the people I will be glorified.’” Aaron held his peace.

⁴โมเสสเรียกมิชาเอลและเอลซาฟาน บุตรชายของอุสซีเอล อาของอาโรน บอกเขาว่า "จงเข้ามาใกล้ หามเอาพี่น้องของเจ้าออกไปเสียนอกค่ายจากหน้าสถานบริสุทธิ์"

⁴Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said to them, “Draw near, carry your brothers from before the sanctuary out of the camp.”

⁵เขาก็เข้ามาใกล้หามศพทั้งเสื้อออกไปไว้นอกค่ายตามที่โมเสสสั่ง

⁵So they drew near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp, as Moses had said.

⁶และโมเสสกล่าวแก่อาโรนและเอเลอาซาร์และอิธามาร์ บุตรชายอาโรนว่า "ท่านทั้งหลายอย่าปล่อยผมห้อย หรือฉีกเสื้อผ้าของท่าน เกลือกว่าท่านจะต้องตายและเกลือกว่าพระพิโรธจะตกเหนือชุมนุมชนทั้งหมด แต่พี่น้องของท่านคือวงศ์วานอิสราเอลทั้งมวล จะไว้ทุกข์เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงให้บังเกิดการเผาไหม้ก็ได้

⁶Moses said to Aaron, and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons, “Don’t let the hair of your heads go loose, neither tear your clothes; that you don’t die, and that he not be angry with all the congregation: but let your brothers, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which Yahweh has kindled.

⁷และอย่าออกไปจากประตูพลับพลาแห่งชุมนุม เกลือกว่าท่านต้องตาย เพราะว่าน้ำมันเจิมแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์อยู่เหนือท่านทั้งหลาย" และเขาทั้งหลายก็กระทำตามคำของโมเสส

⁷You shall not go out from the door of the Tent of Meeting, lest you die; for the anointing oil of Yahweh is on you.” They did according to the word of Moses.

⁸พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับอาโรนว่า

⁸Yahweh spoke to Aaron, saying,

⁹"เมื่อตัวเจ้าหรือบุตรชายของเจ้าจะเข้าไปในพลับพลาแห่งชุมนุม อย่าดื่มเหล้าองุ่นหรือสุราเกลือกว่าเจ้าจะต้องตาย ทั้งนี้ให้เป็นกฎเกณฑ์ถาวรอยู่ตลอดชั่วอายุของเจ้า

⁹“Drink no wine nor strong drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the Tent of Meeting, that you don’t die: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations:

¹⁰เจ้าจงแยกของบริสุทธิ์จากของไม่บริสุทธิ์และของมลทินจากของไม่มลทิน

¹⁰and that you are to make a distinction between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean;

¹¹และเจ้าจะต้องสอนพลไพร่อิสราเอลให้ทราบถึงกฎเกณฑ์ทั้งมวลซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ได้ตรัสแก่เขาทั้งหลายทางโมเสส"

¹¹and that you are to teach the children of Israel all the statutes which Yahweh has spoken to them by Moses.”

¹²โมเสสกล่าวแก่อาโรนและเอเลอาซาร์ และอิธามาร์ บุตรชายของเขาผู้ที่เหลืออยู่ว่า "จงเอาธัญญบูชาซึ่งเหลือจากการบูชาด้วยไฟถวายแด่พระเยโฮวาห์ มารับประทานที่ริมแท่นบูชาไม่ใส่เชื้อ เพราะเป็นของบริสุทธิ์ที่สุด

¹²Moses spoke to Aaron, and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons who were left, “Take the meal offering that remains of the offerings of Yahweh made by fire, and eat it without yeast beside the altar; for it is most holy;

¹³ท่านจงรับประทานในที่บริสุทธิ์เพราะเป็นส่วนของท่าน และส่วนของบุตรชายของท่าน จากเครื่องบูชาด้วยไฟถวายแด่พระเยโฮวาห์ เพราะข้าพเจ้าได้รับบัญชาดังนี้

¹³and you shall eat it in a holy place, because it is your portion, and your sons’ portion, of the offerings of Yahweh made by fire: for so I am commanded.

¹⁴แต่เนื้ออกที่แกว่งถวาย และเนื้อโคนขาที่ถวายแล้วนั้น ท่านจงรับประทานในที่สะอาด ทั้งตัวท่านและบุตรชายบุตรสาวของท่านก็รับประทานได้ เพราะเป็นส่วนที่ได้มาจากสันติบูชาของคนอิสราเอล อันตกอยู่กับท่านทั้งบุตรชายทั้งหลายของท่านด้วย

¹⁴The waved breast and the heaved thigh you shall eat in a clean place, you, and your sons, and your daughters with you: for they are given as your portion, and your sons’ portion, out of the sacrifices of the peace offerings of the children of Israel.

¹⁵เนื้อโคนขาที่ถวายและเนื้ออกที่แกว่งถวายเขาจะนำมาบูชาพร้อมกับเครื่องไขมันที่บูชาด้วยไฟ เพื่อแกว่งเป็นเครื่องบูชาแกว่งถวายต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์ สิ่งเหล่านี้เป็นของท่านและบุตรชายทั้งหลายของท่าน ให้เป็นกฎเกณฑ์เนืองนิตย์ ดังที่พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงบัญชาไว้"

¹⁵The heaved thigh and the waved breast they shall bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave offering before Yahweh: and it shall be yours, and your sons’ with you, as a portion forever; as Yahweh has commanded.”

¹⁶ฝ่ายโมเสสได้พยายามไต่ถามถึงเรื่องแพะซึ่งเป็นเครื่องบูชาไถ่บาป และดูเถิด แพะตัวนั้นถูกเผาเสียแล้ว ท่านจึงโกรธเอเลอาซาร์และอิธามาร์บุตรชายของอาโรนที่เหลืออยู่ ท่านว่าเขาว่า

¹⁶Moses diligently inquired about the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burned: and he was angry with Eleazar and with Ithamar, the sons of Aaron who were left, saying,

¹⁷"เหตุไฉนท่านจึงมิได้รับประทานเครื่องบูชาไถ่บาปในที่บริสุทธิ์ ในเมื่อเป็นของบริสุทธิ์ที่สุด และพระเจ้าได้ประทานของเหล่านั้นให้แก่ท่านเพื่อท่านจะได้รับความชั่วช้าของชุมนุมชน เพื่อทำการลบมลทินบาปของเขาทั้งหลายต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์

¹⁷“Why haven’t you eaten the sin offering in the place of the sanctuary, since it is most holy, and he has given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before Yahweh?

¹⁸ดูเถิด เลือดสัตว์นั้นก็มิได้นำเข้ามายังที่บริสุทธิ์ที่ห้องชั้นใน ท่านควรจะได้รับประทานสิ่งเหล่านี้ในที่บริสุทธิ์ ดังที่ข้าพเจ้าได้บัญชาแล้วนั้น"

¹⁸Behold, its blood was not brought into the inner part of the sanctuary: you certainly should have eaten it in the sanctuary, as I commanded.”

¹⁹อาโรนจึงกล่าวแก่โมเสสว่า "ดูเถิด วันนี้เขาได้ถวายเครื่องบูชาไถ่บาปและเครื่องเผาบูชาของเขาต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์แล้ว และเหตุการณ์เหล่านี้ก็ตกที่ข้าพเจ้าแล้ว ถ้าวันนี้ข้าพเจ้าได้รับประทานเครื่องบูชาไถ่บาป จะเป็นที่โปรดปรานในสายพระเนตรของพระเยโฮวาห์หรือ"

¹⁹Aaron spoke to Moses, “Behold, this day they have offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before Yahweh; and such things as these have happened to me: and if I had eaten the sin offering today, would it have been pleasing in the sight of Yahweh?”

²⁰เมื่อโมเสสได้ฟังดังนั้น ท่านก็พอใจ

²⁰When Moses heard that, it was pleasing in his sight.
