1พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับโมเสสและอาโรนว่า
1Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying to them,
2"จงกล่าวแก่คนอิสราเอลว่า ต่อไปนี้เป็นสัตว์ที่มีชีวิตในบรรดาสัตว์ในโลกซึ่งเจ้าจะรับประทานได้
2“Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘These are the living things which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth.
3บรรดาสัตว์ที่แยกกีบและมีกีบผ่าและสัตว์เคี้ยวเอื้อง เจ้ารับประทานได้
3Whatever parts the hoof, and is cloven-footed, and chews the cud among the animals, that you may eat.
4อย่างไรก็ตามสัตว์ต่อไปนี้ที่เคี้ยวเอื้องหรือแยกกีบ เจ้าก็อย่ารับประทาน อูฐ เพราะมันเคี้ยวเอื้องแต่ไม่แยกกีบ เป็นสัตว์มลทินแก่เจ้า
4“‘Nevertheless these you shall not eat of those that chew the cud, or of those who part the hoof: the camel, because he chews the cud but doesn’t have a parted hoof, he is unclean to you.

5The coney, because he chews the cud but doesn’t have a parted hoof, he is unclean to you.

6The hare, because she chews the cud but doesn’t part the hoof, she is unclean to you.
7หมูเพราะมันเป็นสัตว์แยกกีบและมีกีบผ่าแต่ไม่เคี้ยวเอื้อง จึงเป็นสัตว์มลทินแก่เจ้า
7The pig, because he has a split hoof, and is cloven-footed, but doesn’t chew the cud, he is unclean to you.
8อย่ารับประทานเนื้อของสัตว์เหล่านี้เลย และเจ้าอย่าแตะต้องซากของมัน มันเป็นของมลทินแก่เจ้า
8Of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are unclean to you.
9สัตว์ที่อยู่ในน้ำทั้งหมดเหล่านี้เจ้ารับประทานได้ ของทุกอย่างซึ่งอยู่ในน้ำที่มีครีบและมีเกล็ด จะอยู่ในทะเลหรือในแม่น้ำก็ตาม เจ้ารับประทานได้
9“‘These you may eat of all that are in the waters: whatever has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, that you may eat.

10All that don’t have fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of all the living creatures that are in the waters, they are an abomination to you,
11สัตว์เหล่านี้ยังคงเป็นสิ่งที่พึงรังเกียจแก่เจ้า เจ้าอย่ารับประทานเนื้อของมัน แต่ให้เจ้าถือว่าซากของมันเป็นที่พึงรังเกียจ
11and you detest them. You shall not eat of their flesh, and you shall detest their carcasses.
12อะไรก็ตามที่อยู่ในน้ำไม่มีครีบและเกล็ด เป็นสิ่งที่พึงรังเกียจแก่เจ้า
12Whatever has no fins nor scales in the waters, that is an abomination to you.
13ต่อไปนี้เป็นนกซึ่งให้เจ้าถือว่าเป็นสิ่งที่พึงรังเกียจท่ามกลางนกทั้งหลาย นกเหล่านี้รับประทานไม่ได้ มันเป็นสิ่งที่พึงรังเกียจ คือนกอินทรี นกแร้ง นกออก
13“‘These you shall detest among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the vulture, and the black vulture,
14นกเหยี่ยวหางยาว เหยี่ยวดำตามชนิดของมัน
14and the red kite, any kind of black kite,
15นกแกตามชนิดของมัน
15any kind of raven,
16นกเค้าแมว นกเค้าโมง นกนางนวล เหยี่ยวนกเขาตามชนิดของมัน
16the horned owl, the screech owl, and the gull, any kind of hawk,
17นกเค้าแมวเล็ก นกอ้ายงั่ว นกทึดทือ
17the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl,
18นกอีโก้ง นกกระทุง นกแร้ง
18the white owl, the desert owl, the osprey,
19นกกระสาดำ นกกระสาตามชนิดของมัน นกหัวขวาน และค้างคาว
19the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe, and the bat.
20แมลงมีปีกซึ่งคลานสี่ขา เป็นสัตว์ที่พึงรังเกียจแก่เจ้า
20“‘All flying insects that walk on all fours are an abomination to you.
21แต่ในบรรดาแมลงมีปีกที่คลานสี่ขานี้ เจ้าจะรับประทานจำพวกที่มีขาพับใช้กระโดดไปบนดินได้
21Yet you may eat these: of all winged creeping things that go on all fours, which have legs above their feet, with which to hop on the earth.
22ในจำพวกแมลงต่อไปนี้เจ้ารับประทานได้ ตั๊กแตนวัยบินตามชนิดของมัน จิ้งหรีดโกร่งตามชนิดของมัน จักจั่นตามชนิดของมัน และตั๊กแตนตามชนิดของมัน
22Even of these you may eat: any kind of locust, any kind of katydid, any kind of cricket, and any kind of grasshopper.
23แต่แมลงมีปีกอย่างอื่นซึ่งมีสี่ขา เป็นสัตว์ที่พึงรังเกียจแก่เจ้า
23But all winged creeping things which have four feet, are an abomination to you.
24สิ่งเหล่านั้นจะกระทำให้เจ้ามลทินได้ คือผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดแตะต้องซากของมันจะต้องมลทินไปถึงเวลาเย็น
24“‘By these you will become unclean: whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening.
25ผู้ใดถือซากสัตว์ส่วนใดๆไปต้องซักเสื้อผ้าของตน และมลทินไปจนถึงเวลาเย็น
25Whoever carries any part of their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.
26ซากของสัตว์ทั้งปวงที่แยกกีบและไม่มีกีบผ่า ไม่เคี้ยวเอื้องเป็นสัตว์มลทินแก่เจ้า ผู้ใดแตะต้องสัตว์เหล่านี้จะมลทิน
26“‘Every animal which parts the hoof, and is not cloven-footed, nor chews the cud, is unclean to you. Everyone who touches them shall be unclean.
27ในบรรดาสัตว์สี่เท้าทุกอย่างซึ่งเดินด้วยขยุ้มเท้าเป็นสัตว์มลทินแก่เจ้า ผู้ใดแตะต้องซากสัตว์นี้จะต้องมลทินไปถึงเวลาเย็น
27Whatever goes on its paws, among all animals that go on all fours, they are unclean to you. Whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening.
28ผู้ใดนำซากมันไปจะต้องซักเสื้อผ้าของตน และมลทินไปจนถึงเวลาเย็น เป็นสัตว์มลทินแก่เจ้า
28He who carries their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. They are unclean to you.
29ในบรรดาสัตว์ที่เลื้อยคลานไปบนดิน ชนิดต่อไปนี้เป็นสัตว์มลทินแก่เจ้า คือ อีเห็น หนู เหี้ยตามชนิดของมัน
29“‘These are they which are unclean to you among the creeping things that creep on the earth: the weasel, the rat, any kind of great lizard,
30จิ้งจก ตะกวด แย้ จิ้งเหลนและกิ้งก่า
30the gecko, and the monitor lizard, the wall lizard, the skink, and the chameleon.
31ในบรรดาสัตว์เลื้อยคลาน ชนิดเหล่านี้เป็นมลทินแก่เจ้า ผู้ใดแตะต้องเมื่อมันตายแล้ว ผู้นั้นจะมลทินไปถึงเวลาเย็น
31These are they which are unclean to you among all that creep. Whoever touches them when they are dead, shall be unclean until the evening.
32และเมื่อมันตายตกทับสิ่งใด สิ่งนั้นก็เป็นมลทิน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นสิ่งที่เป็นไม้ หรือเสื้อผ้า หรือหนังสัตว์ หรือกระสอบ หรือภาชนะใดๆที่ใช้เพื่อประโยชน์อย่างใด จะต้องแช่น้ำ และจะมลทินไปจนถึงเวลาเย็น ต่อไปก็นับว่าสะอาดได้
32On whatever any of them falls when they are dead, it shall be unclean; whether it is any vessel of wood, or clothing, or skin, or sack, whatever vessel it is, with which any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening; then it will be clean.
33และถ้ามันตกลงไปในภาชนะดิน สิ่งที่อยู่ในภาชนะนั้นจะมลทิน จงทุบภาชนะนั้นเสีย
33Every earthen vessel, into which any of them falls, all that is in it shall be unclean, and you shall break it.
34อาหารในภาชนะนั้นที่รับประทานได้ซึ่งมีน้ำปนอยู่ก็เป็นมลทิน และน้ำดื่มทั้งสิ้นซึ่งจะดื่มได้จากภาชนะอย่างนี้จะมลทิน
34All food which may be eaten, that on which water comes, shall be unclean; and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.
35ถ้าส่วนใดของซากสัตว์ตกใส่สิ่งใดๆ สิ่งนั้นๆก็มลทิน ไม่ว่าเป็นเตาอบหรือเตา ต้องทุบเสีย เป็นมลทิน และเป็นของมลทินแก่เจ้า
35Everything whereupon part of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether oven, or range for pots, it shall be broken in pieces: they are unclean, and shall be unclean to you.
36อย่างไรก็ตามน้ำพุหรือน้ำในแอ่งเก็บน้ำเป็นของสะอาด แต่สิ่งใดที่แตะต้องซากสัตว์นั้นจะมลทิน
36Nevertheless a spring or a cistern in which water is a gathered shall be clean: but that which touches their carcass shall be unclean.
37ถ้าส่วนใดของซากตกใส่เมล็ดพืชที่ใช้หว่าน พืชนั้นนับว่าสะอาด
37If part of their carcass falls on any sowing seed which is to be sown, it is clean.
38ถ้าเอาเมล็ดพืชนั้นแช่น้ำไว้ และซากสัตว์ส่วนใดตกใส่น้ำนั้นก็เป็นมลทินแก่เจ้า
38But if water is put on the seed, and part of their carcass falls on it, it is unclean to you.
39ถ้าสัตว์ซึ่งเจ้าจะรับประทานได้นั้นตายเอง ผู้ที่แตะต้องซากสัตว์นั้นจะมลทินไปจนถึงเวลาเย็น
39“‘If any animal, of which you may eat, dies; he who touches its carcass shall be unclean until the evening.
40และผู้ใดที่รับประทานซากนั้นจะต้องซักเสื้อผ้าของเขาเสียและเป็นมลทินไปจนถึงเวลาเย็น ผู้ใดที่จับถือซากนั้นไปก็ต้องซักเสื้อผ้าของตน และเป็นมลทินไปจนถึงเวลาเย็น
40He who eats of its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. He also who carries its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.
41บรรดาสัตว์เลื้อยคลานที่ไปบนแผ่นดินเป็นสิ่งพึงรังเกียจ อย่ารับประทาน
41“‘Every creeping thing that creeps on the earth is an abomination. It shall not be eaten.
42สิ่งใดที่เลื้อยไปด้วยท้อง หรือสิ่งที่เดินสี่ขา หรือสิ่งที่มีหลายขา ทุกสิ่งที่คลานไปบนแผ่นดิน เจ้าอย่ารับประทาน เพราะเป็นสิ่งพึงรังเกียจ
42Whatever goes on its belly, and whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet, even all creeping things that creep on the earth, them you shall not eat; for they are an abomination.
43เจ้าอย่ากระทำให้ตัวเองเป็นที่พึงรังเกียจด้วยสัตว์เลื้อยคลานใดๆ อย่าทำตัวให้เป็นมลทินไปด้วยสัตว์เหล่านี้เลย เกรงว่าเจ้าจะเป็นมลทินไปด้วย
43You shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creeps, neither shall you make yourselves unclean with them, that you should be defiled thereby.
44เพราะเราคือพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้า จงชำระตัวไว้ให้บริสุทธิ์ เพราะเราบริสุทธิ์ เจ้าอย่าทำตัวให้เป็นมลทินไปด้วยสัตว์อย่างใดอย่างหนึ่งซึ่งคลานไปบนแผ่นดิน
44For I am Yahweh your God. Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am holy: neither shall you defile yourselves with any kind of creeping thing that moves on the earth.
45เพราะเราคือพระเยโฮวาห์ผู้นำเจ้าออกจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ เพื่อเป็นพระเจ้าของเจ้า เพราะฉะนั้นเจ้าจึงต้องบริสุทธิ์ เพราะเราบริสุทธิ์"
45For I am Yahweh who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
46เหล่านี้เป็นพระราชบัญญัติกล่าวถึงเรื่องสัตว์และนก และสิ่งมีชีวิตที่เคลื่อนไหวไปมาในน้ำ และสัตว์ทุกชนิดที่เลื้อยคลานบนแผ่นดิน
46“‘This is the law of the animal, and of the bird, and of every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps on the earth,
47เพื่อให้สังเกตความแตกต่างระหว่างสิ่งที่เป็นมลทินและสิ่งที่ไม่เป็นมลทิน และระหว่างสัตว์ที่มีชีวิตรับประทานได้ และสัตว์มีชีวิตที่รับประทานไม่ได้
47to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing that may be eaten and the living thing that may not be eaten.’”
