1พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า
1Yahweh said to Moses,
2"จงกล่าวแก่คนอิสราเอลว่า เราคือพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้า
2“Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘I am Yahweh your God.
3เจ้าทั้งหลายอย่ากระทำดังที่เขากระทำกันในแผ่นดินอียิปต์ซึ่งเจ้าเคยอาศัยอยู่นั้น และเจ้าอย่ากระทำดังที่เขากระทำกันในแผ่นดินคานาอัน ซึ่งเรากำลังพาเจ้าไปนั้น เจ้าอย่าประพฤติตามกฎของเขา
3You shall not do as they do in the land of Egypt, where you lived: and you shall not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you; neither shall you walk in their statutes.
4เจ้าทั้งหลายจงกระทำตามคำตัดสินของเราและรักษากฎของเราและประพฤติตาม เราคือพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้า
4You shall do my ordinances, and you shall keep my statutes, and walk in them: I am Yahweh your God.
5เพราะฉะนั้นเจ้าทั้งหลายจึงต้องรักษากฎเกณฑ์ของเรา และคำตัดสินของเรา ด้วยการกระทำตามนั่นแหละ มนุษย์จึงจะมีชีวิตอยู่ได้ เราคือพระเยโฮวาห์
5You shall therefore keep my statutes and my ordinances; which if a man does, he shall live in them: I am Yahweh.
6อย่าให้ผู้ใดในพวกเจ้าเข้าใกล้ญาติสนิทของตนเพื่อเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของเขา เราคือพระเยโฮวาห์
6“‘None of you shall approach anyone who are his close relatives, to uncover their nakedness: I am Yahweh.
7เจ้าอย่าเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของบิดาเจ้าหรือกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของมารดาเจ้า นางเป็นมารดาของเจ้า เจ้าอย่าเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของนางเลย
7“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, nor the nakedness of your mother: she is your mother. You shall not uncover her nakedness.
8เจ้าอย่าเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของภรรยาของบิดาเจ้า เพราะเป็นกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของบิดาเจ้า
8“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife: it is your father’s nakedness.
9เจ้าอย่าเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของพี่สาวหรือน้องสาวของเจ้า คือบุตรสาวของบิดาเจ้า หรือบุตรสาวของมารดาเจ้า ไม่ว่าเธอจะเกิดที่บ้านหรือเกิดต่างแดนก็ตาม
9“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father, or the daughter of your mother, whether born at home, or born abroad.
10เจ้าอย่าเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของบุตรสาวของบุตรชายเจ้า หรือกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของบุตรสาวของบุตรสาวเจ้า เพราะว่ากายที่เปลือยเปล่าของเขาก็เป็นกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของเจ้าเอง
10“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your son’s daughter, or of your daughter’s daughter, even their nakedness: for theirs is your own nakedness.
11เจ้าอย่าเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของบุตรสาวของภรรยาของบิดาเจ้า ซึ่งเกิดจากบิดาเจ้าเอง เพราะว่าเธอเป็นพี่สาวหรือน้องสาวของเจ้า
11“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife’s daughter, conceived by your father, since she is your sister.
12เจ้าอย่าเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของพี่สาวหรือน้องสาวของบิดาเจ้า เพราะเธอเป็นญาติผู้หญิงที่ใกล้ชิดของบิดาเจ้า
12“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s sister: she is your father’s near kinswoman.
13เจ้าอย่าเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของพี่สาวหรือน้องสาวของมารดาเจ้า เพราะเธอเป็นญาติผู้หญิงที่ใกล้ชิดของมารดาเจ้า
13“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister: for she is your mother’s near kinswoman.
14เจ้าอย่าเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของพี่ชายหรือน้องชายของบิดาเจ้า คือเจ้าอย่าเข้าหาภรรยาของเขา เพราะเธอเป็นป้าของเจ้า
14“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s brother, you shall not approach his wife: she is your aunt.
15เจ้าอย่าเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของลูกสะใภ้ของเจ้า เธอเป็นภรรยาบุตรชายเจ้า เจ้าอย่าเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของเธอเลย
15“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law: she is your son’s wife. You shall not uncover her nakedness.
16เจ้าอย่าเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของภรรยาของพี่ชายหรือน้องชายของเจ้า เพราะเป็นกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของพี่น้องผู้ชายของเจ้า
16“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife: it is your brother’s nakedness.
17เจ้าอย่าเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของผู้หญิงคนใดคนหนึ่งและของบุตรสาวของนาง และเจ้าอย่านำบุตรสาวของบุตรชายของนาง หรือบุตรสาวของบุตรสาวของนางไปเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่า เพราะว่าพวกเธอเป็นญาติผู้หญิงที่ใกล้ชิดของนาง เป็นการชั่วร้ายนัก
17“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter. You shall not take her son’s daughter, or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness; they are near kinswomen: it is wickedness.
18และเจ้าอย่าพาภรรยาไปหาพี่สาวหรือน้องสาวของนางเพื่อจะก่อกวนและเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของเธอ ขณะเมื่อภรรยายังมีชีวิตอยู่
18“‘You shall not take a wife to her sister, to be a rival, to uncover her nakedness, while her sister is yet alive.
19และเจ้าอย่าเข้าใกล้ผู้หญิงคนใดคนหนึ่งเพื่อเปิดกายที่เปลือยเปล่าของนาง ตราบใดที่นางยังถูกแยกไว้ต่างหากเพราะมลทินของนาง
19“‘You shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is impure by her uncleanness.
20เจ้าอย่าสมสู่กับภรรยาของเพื่อนบ้านของเจ้า กระทำให้ตัวเจ้าลามกอนาจารกับนาง
20“‘You shall not lie carnally with your neighbor’s wife, and defile yourself with her.
21เจ้าอย่าถวายเชื้อสายของเจ้าให้พระโมเลคด้วยให้ลุยไฟ และอย่ากระทำให้พระนามพระเจ้าของเจ้าเสื่อมเกียรติ เราคือพระเยโฮวาห์
21“‘You shall not give any of your children to sacrifice to Molech; neither shall you profane the name of your God: I am Yahweh.
22เจ้าอย่าสมสู่กับผู้ชายใช้ต่างผู้หญิง เป็นสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียน
22“‘You shall not lie with a man, as with a woman. That is detestable.
23เจ้าอย่าสมสู่กับสัตว์เดียรัจฉาน กระทำตนให้ลามกอนาจาร หรืออย่าให้หญิงคนใดยอมตัวสมสู่กับสัตว์เดียรัจฉาน ดังนี้เป็นเรื่องกามวิปลาส
23“‘You shall not lie with any animal to defile yourself with it; neither shall any woman give herself to an animal, to lie down with it: it is a perversion.
24เจ้าทั้งหลายอย่ากระทำตัวให้ลามกอนาจารด้วยสิ่งเหล่านี้เลย เพราะว่าบรรดาประชาชาติที่เราได้ไล่ไปเสียต่อหน้าเจ้านั้น กระทำบรรดาลามกอนาจารอย่างนี้เอง
24“‘Don’t defile yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations which I am casting out before you were defiled.
25และแผ่นดินนั้นก็ลามก เราจึงต้องลงโทษความชั่วช้าแก่แผ่นดินนั้น และแผ่นดินก็สำรอกเอาพลเมืองของตนออกเสีย
25The land was defiled: therefore I punished its iniquity, and the land vomited out her inhabitants.
26เหตุฉะนั้นเจ้าทั้งหลายจะต้องรักษากฎเกณฑ์ของเราและคำตัดสินของเรา และอย่ากระทำสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนเหล่านี้ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นผู้ใดในชาติของเจ้าเองหรือคนต่างด้าวใดๆที่อาศัยอยู่ในหมู่พวกเจ้า
26You therefore shall keep my statutes and my ordinances, and shall not do any of these abominations; neither the native-born, nor the stranger who lives as a foreigner among you;
27(ประชาชนในแผ่นดินผู้อยู่ก่อนเจ้าได้กระทำบรรดาสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนเหล่านี้ ดังนั้นแผ่นดินจึงเป็นมลทิน)
27(for all these abominations have the men of the land done, that were before you, and the land became defiled);
28เกลือกว่าเมื่อเจ้าทั้งหลายทำให้แผ่นดินเป็นลามก แผ่นดินก็จะสำรอกเจ้าออก ดังที่แผ่นดินได้สำรอกประชาชาติที่อยู่ก่อนเจ้าออกไปนั้น
28that the land not vomit you out also, when you defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.
29เพราะผู้ใดก็ตามกระทำสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนใดๆเหล่านี้ ผู้กระทำสิ่งเหล่านี้จะต้องถูกตัดขาดจากชนชาติของตน
29“‘For whoever shall do any of these abominations, even the souls that do them shall be cut off from among their people.
30เหตุฉะนั้นเจ้าทั้งหลายจงปฏิบัติตามกฎของเรา เจ้าอย่าประพฤติตามธรรมเนียมอันน่าสะอิดสะเอียนเหล่านี้ ซึ่งเขาประพฤติกันมาก่อนเจ้า และอย่าทำตัวเจ้าให้เป็นมลทินด้วยสิ่งเหล่านี้ เราคือพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้า"
30Therefore you shall keep my requirements, that you do not practice any of these abominable customs, which were practiced before you, and that you do not defile yourselves with them: I am Yahweh your God.’”
