¹พอรุ่งเช้า พวกปุโรหิตใหญ่กับพวกผู้ใหญ่และพวกธรรมาจารย์และบรรดาสมาชิกสภาได้ปรึกษากัน แล้วจึงมัดพระเยซูพาไปมอบไว้แก่ปีลาต

¹Immediately in the morning the chief priests, with the elders and scribes, and the whole council, held a consultation, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him up to Pilate.

²ปีลาตจึงถามพระองค์ว่า "ท่านเป็นกษัตริย์ของพวกยิวหรือ" พระองค์ตรัสตอบท่านว่า "ท่านว่าแล้วนี่"

²Pilate asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” He answered, “So you say.”

³ฝ่ายพวกปุโรหิตใหญ่ได้ฟ้องกล่าวโทษพระองค์เป็นหลายประการ แต่พระองค์ไม่ตรัสตอบประการใด

³The chief priests accused him of many things.

⁴ปีลาตจึงถามพระองค์อีกว่า "ท่านไม่ตอบอะไรหรือ ดูเถิด เขากล่าวความปรักปรำท่านหลายประการทีเดียว"

⁴Pilate again asked him, “Have you no answer? See how many things they testify against you!”

⁵แต่พระเยซูมิได้ตรัสตอบประการใดอีก ปีลาตจึงอัศจรรย์ใจ

⁵But Jesus made no further answer, so that Pilate marveled.

⁶ในเทศกาลเลี้ยงนั้น ปีลาตเคยปล่อยนักโทษคนหนึ่งให้เขาตามที่เขาขอ

⁶Now at the feast he used to release to them one prisoner, whom they asked of him.

⁷มีคนหนึ่งชื่อบารับบัสซึ่งต้องจำอยู่ในจำพวกคนกบฏ ผู้ที่ได้ฆ่าคนในการกบฏนั้น

⁷There was one called Barabbas, bound with those who had made insurrection, men who in the insurrection had committed murder.

⁸ประชาชนจึงได้ร้องเสียงดัง เริ่มขอปีลาตให้ทำตามที่ท่านเคยทำให้เขานั้น

⁸The multitude, crying aloud, began to ask him to do as he always did for them.

⁹ปีลาตได้ถามเขาว่า "ท่านทั้งหลายปรารถนาจะให้เราปล่อยกษัตริย์ของพวกยิวหรือ"

⁹Pilate answered them, saying, “Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”

¹⁰เพราะท่านรู้อยู่แล้วว่า พวกปุโรหิตใหญ่ได้มอบพระองค์ไว้ด้วยความอิจฉา

¹⁰For he perceived that for envy the chief priests had delivered him up.

¹¹แต่พวกปุโรหิตใหญ่ยุยงประชาชนให้ขอปีลาตปล่อยบารับบัสแทนพระเยซู

¹¹But the chief priests stirred up the multitude, that he should release Barabbas to them instead.

¹²ฝ่ายปีลาตจึงถามเขาอีกว่า "ท่านทั้งหลายจะให้เราทำอย่างไรแก่คนนี้ ซึ่งท่านทั้งหลายเรียกว่ากษัตริย์ของพวกยิว"

¹²Pilate again asked them, “What then should I do to him whom you call the King of the Jews?”

¹³เขาทั้งหลายร้องตะโกนอีกว่า "ตรึงเขาเสียที่กางเขนเถิด"

¹³They cried out again, “Crucify him!”

¹⁴ปีลาตจึงถามเขาทั้งหลายว่า "ตรึงทำไม เขาได้ทำผิดประการใด" แต่ประชาชนยิ่งร้องว่า "ตรึงเขาเสียที่กางเขนเถิด"

¹⁴Pilate said to them, “Why, what evil has he done?” But they cried out exceedingly, “Crucify him!”

¹⁵ปีลาตปรารถนาจะเอาใจประชาชน จึงปล่อยบารับบัสให้เขา และเมื่อได้ให้โบยตีพระองค์แล้ว ก็มอบพระเยซูให้เขาเอาไปตรึงไว้ที่กางเขน

¹⁵Pilate, wishing to please the multitude, released Barabbas to them, and handed over Jesus, when he had flogged him, to be crucified.

¹⁶พวกทหารจึงนำพระองค์ไปข้างในราชสำนักคือที่เรียกว่าศาลปรีโทเรียม แล้วเรียกพวกทหารทั้งกองให้มาประชุมกัน

¹⁶The soldiers led him away within the court, which is the Praetorium; and they called together the whole cohort.

¹⁷เขาเอาเสื้อสีม่วงมาสวมพระองค์ เอาหนามสานเป็นมงกุฎสวมพระเศียรพระองค์

¹⁷They clothed him with purple, and weaving a crown of thorns, they put it on him.

¹⁸แล้วเริ่มคำนับพระองค์พูดว่า "กษัตริย์ของพวกยิวเจ้าข้า ขอทรงพระเจริญ"

¹⁸They began to salute him, “Hail, King of the Jews!”

¹⁹แล้วเขาได้เอาไม้อ้อตีพระเศียรพระองค์ และได้ถ่มน้ำลายรดพระองค์ แล้วคุกเข่าลงนมัสการพระองค์

¹⁹They struck his head with a reed, and spat on him, and bowing their knees, did homage to him.

²⁰เมื่อเยาะเย้ยพระองค์แล้ว เขาถอดเสื้อสีม่วงนั้นออก แล้วเอาฉลองพระองค์เองสวมให้ และนำพระองค์ออกไปเพื่อจะตรึงเสียที่กางเขน

²⁰When they had mocked him, they took the purple off of him, and put his own garments on him. They led him out to crucify him.

²¹มีคนหนึ่งชื่อซีโมนชาวไซรีน เป็นบิดาของอเล็กซานเดอร์และรูฟัส เดินมาจากบ้านนอกตามทางนั้น เขาก็เกณฑ์ซีโมนให้แบกกางเขนของพระองค์ไป

²¹They compelled one passing by, coming from the country, Simon of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to go with them, that he might bear his cross.

²²เขาพาพระองค์มาถึงตำบลหนึ่งชื่อกลโกธา แปลว่า กะโหลกศีรษะ

²²They brought him to the place called Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, “The place of a skull.”

²³แล้วเขาเอาน้ำองุ่นระคนกับมดยอบให้พระองค์เสวย แต่พระองค์ไม่รับ

²³They offered him wine mixed with myrrh to drink, but he didn’t take it.

²⁴ครั้นเขาตรึงพระองค์ที่กางเขนแล้ว เขาก็เอาฉลองพระองค์จับสลากแบ่งปันกันเพื่อจะรู้ว่าใครจะได้อะไร

²⁴Crucifying him, they parted his garments among them, casting lots on them, what each should take.

²⁵เมื่อเขาตรึงพระองค์ไว้นั้นเป็นเวลาเช้าสามโมง

²⁵It was the third hour, 9:00 A. M. and they crucified him.

²⁶มีข้อหาที่ลงโทษพระองค์เขียนไว้ข้างบนว่า "กษัตริย์ของพวกยิว"

²⁶The superscription of his accusation was written over him, “THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

²⁷เขาเอาโจรสองคนตรึงไว้พร้อมกับพระองค์ ข้างขวาคนหนึ่ง ข้างซ้ายคนหนึ่ง

²⁷With him they crucified two robbers; one on his right hand, and one on his left.

²⁸คำซึ่งเขียนไว้ในพระคัมภีร์แล้วนั้นจึงสำเร็จ คือที่ว่า `ท่านถูกนับเข้ากับบรรดาผู้ละเมิด'

²⁸The Scripture was fulfilled, which says, “He was numbered with transgressors.” NU omits verse 28.

²⁹ฝ่ายคนทั้งหลายที่เดินผ่านไปมานั้น ก็ด่าว่าพระองค์ สั่นศีรษะของเขากล่าวว่า "เฮ้ย เจ้าผู้จะทำลายพระวิหารและสร้างขึ้นในสามวันน่ะ

²⁹Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads, and saying, “Ha! You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days,

³⁰จงช่วยตัวเองให้รอดและลงมาจากกางเขนเถิด"

³⁰save yourself, and come down from the cross!”

³¹พวกปุโรหิตใหญ่กับพวกธรรมาจารย์ก็เยาะเย้ยพระองค์ในระหว่างพวกเขาเองเหมือนกันว่า "เขาช่วยคนอื่นให้รอดได้ แต่ช่วยตัวเองไม่ได้

³¹Likewise, also the chief priests mocking among themselves with the scribes said, “He saved others. He can’t save himself.

³²ให้เจ้าพระคริสต์ กษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอล ลงมาจากกางเขนเดี๋ยวนี้เถอะ เพื่อเราจะได้เห็นและเชื่อ" และสองคนนั้นที่ถูกตรึงไว้กับพระองค์ก็กล่าวคำหยาบช้าต่อพระองค์

³²Let the Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe him. TR omits “him” ” Those who were crucified with him insulted him.

³³ครั้นเวลาเที่ยงก็บังเกิดมืดมัวทั่วแผ่นดินจนถึงบ่ายสามโมง

³³When the sixth hour or, noon had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. 3:00 PM

³⁴พอบ่ายสามโมงแล้ว พระเยซูทรงร้องเสียงดังว่า "เอโลอี เอโลอี ลามาสะบักธานี" แปลว่า "พระเจ้าของข้าพระองค์ พระเจ้าของข้าพระองค์ ไฉนพระองค์ทรงทอดทิ้งข้าพระองค์เสีย"

³⁴At the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is, being interpreted, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Psalm 22:1

³⁵บางคนที่ยืนอยู่ที่นั่นเมื่อได้ยินก็พูดว่า "ดูเถิด เขาเรียกเอลียาห์"

³⁵Some of those who stood by, when they heard it, said, “Behold, he is calling Elijah.”

³⁶มีคนหนึ่งวิ่งไปเอาฟองน้ำชุบน้ำองุ่นเปรี้ยว เสียบปลายไม้อ้อ ส่งให้พระองค์เสวย แล้วว่า "ปล่อยไว้อย่างนั้น ให้เราคอยดูว่า เอลียาห์จะมาปลดเขาลงหรือไม่"

³⁶One ran, and filling a sponge full of vinegar, put it on a reed, and gave it to him to drink, saying, “Let him be. Let’s see whether Elijah comes to take him down.”

³⁷ฝ่ายพระเยซูทรงร้องเสียงดัง แล้วทรงปล่อยพระวิญญาณจิตให้ออกไป

³⁷Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and gave up the spirit.

³⁸ขณะนั้นม่านในพระวิหารก็ขาดออกเป็นสองท่อน ตั้งแต่บนตลอดล่าง

³⁸The veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom.

³⁹ส่วนนายร้อยที่ยืนอยู่ตรงพระพักตร์พระองค์ เมื่อเห็นว่าพระองค์ทรงร้องเสียงดังและทรงปล่อยพระวิญญาณจิตให้ออกไปแล้ว จึงพูดว่า "แท้จริงท่านผู้นี้เป็นพระบุตรของพระเจ้า"

³⁹When the centurion, who stood by opposite him, saw that he cried out like this and breathed his last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”

⁴⁰มีพวกผู้หญิงมองดูอยู่แต่ไกล ในพวกผู้หญิงนั้นมีมารีย์ชาวมักดาลา มารีย์มารดาของยากอบน้อยและของโยเสส และนางสะโลเม

⁴⁰There were also women watching from afar, among whom were both Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;

⁴¹(ผู้หญิงเหล่านั้นได้ติดตามและปรนนิบัติพระองค์ เมื่อพระองค์ยังอยู่ในแคว้นกาลิลี) และผู้หญิงอื่นอีกหลายคนที่ได้ขึ้นมายังกรุงเยรูซาเล็มกับพระองค์ได้อยู่ที่นั่น

⁴¹who, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and served him; and many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem.

⁴²ครั้นถึงเวลาพลบค่ำ เหตุที่วันนั้นเป็นวันเตรียม คือวันก่อนวันสะบาโต

⁴²When evening had now come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath,

⁴³โยเซฟเป็นชาวบ้านอาริมาเธีย ซึ่งอยู่ในพวกสมาชิกสภาและเป็นที่นับถือของคนทั้งปวง ทั้งกำลังคอยท่าอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าด้วย จึงกล้าเข้าไปหาปีลาตขอพระศพพระเยซู

⁴³Joseph of Arimathaea, a prominent council member who also himself was looking for the Kingdom of God, came. He boldly went in to Pilate, and asked for Jesus’ body.

⁴⁴ปีลาตก็ประหลาดใจที่พระองค์สิ้นพระชนม์แล้ว จึงเรียกนายร้อยมาถามเขาว่า พระองค์ตายแล้วหรือ

⁴⁴Pilate marveled if he were already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he had been dead long.

⁴⁵เมื่อได้รู้เรื่องจากนายร้อยแล้ว ท่านจึงมอบพระศพให้แก่โยเซฟ

⁴⁵When he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.

⁴⁶ฝ่ายโยเซฟได้ซื้อผ้าป่านเนื้อละเอียด และเชิญพระศพลงมาเอาผ้าป่านพันหุ้มไว้ แล้วเชิญพระศพไปประดิษฐานไว้ในอุโมงค์ซึ่งได้สกัดไว้ในศิลา แล้วกลิ้งก้อนหินปิดปากอุโมงค์ไว้

⁴⁶He bought a linen cloth, and taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb which had been cut out of a rock. He rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.

⁴⁷ฝ่ายมารีย์ชาวมักดาลา และมารีย์มารดาของโยเสส ได้เห็นที่ที่พระศพบรรจุไว้

⁴⁷Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of Joses, saw where he was laid.
