¹พระเยซูตรัสแก่เขาเป็นคำอุปมาอีกว่า

¹Jesus answered and spoke again in parables to them, saying,

²"อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เปรียบเหมือนกษัตริย์องค์หนึ่ง ซึ่งได้จัดพิธีอภิเษกมเหสีสำหรับราชโอรสของท่าน

² “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son,

³แล้วใช้พวกผู้รับใช้ไปตามผู้ที่รับเชิญมาในการอภิเษกนั้น แต่เขาไม่ใคร่จะมา

³ and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast, but they would not come.

⁴ท่านยังใช้พวกผู้รับใช้อื่นไปอีก รับสั่งว่า `ให้บอกผู้รับเชิญนั้นว่า ดูเถิด เราได้จัดการเลี้ยงไว้แล้ว วัวและสัตว์ขุนแล้วของเราก็ฆ่าไว้เสร็จ สิ่งสารพัดก็เตรียมไว้พร้อม จงมาในพิธีอภิเษกนี้เถิด'

⁴ Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the marriage feast!”’

⁵แต่เขาก็เพิกเฉยและไปเสีย คนหนึ่งไปไร่นาของตน อีกคนหนึ่งก็ไปทำการค้าขาย

⁵ But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise,

⁶ฝ่ายพวกนอกนั้นก็จับพวกผู้รับใช้ของท่าน ทำการอัปยศต่างๆแล้วฆ่าเสีย

⁶ and the rest grabbed his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them.

⁷แต่ครั้นกษัตริย์องค์นั้นได้ยินแล้ว ท่านก็ทรงพระพิโรธ จึงรับสั่งให้ยกกองทหารไป ปราบปรามผู้ฆ่าคนเหล่านั้น และให้เผาเมืองเขาเสีย

⁷ When the king heard that, he was angry, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.

⁸แล้วท่านจึงรับสั่งแก่พวกผู้รับใช้ของท่านว่า `งานสมรสก็พร้อมอยู่ แต่ผู้รับเชิญนั้นไม่สมกับงาน

⁸ “Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren’t worthy.

⁹เหตุฉะนั้น จงออกไปตามทางหลวง พบใครๆก็ให้เชิญมาในงานนี้'

⁹ Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the marriage feast.’

¹⁰พวกผู้รับใช้จึงออกไปเชิญคนทั้งปวงตามทางหลวงแล้วแต่จะพบ ให้มาทั้งดีและชั่วจนห้องโถงงานอภิเษกนั้นเต็มด้วยแขก

¹⁰ Those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good. The wedding was filled with guests.

¹¹แต่เมื่อกษัตริย์องค์นั้นเสด็จทอดพระเนตรแขก ก็เห็นผู้หนึ่งมิได้สวมเสื้อสำหรับงาน

¹¹ But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who didn’t have on wedding clothing,

¹²ท่านจึงรับสั่งถามเขาว่า `สหายเอ๋ย เหตุไฉนท่านจึงมาที่นี่โดยไม่สวมเสื้อสำหรับงานสมรส' ผู้นั้นก็นิ่งอยู่พูดไม่ออก

¹² and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless.

¹³กษัตริย์จึงรับสั่งแก่พวกผู้รับใช้ว่า `จงมัดมือมัดเท้าคนนี้เอาไปทิ้งเสียที่มืดภายนอก ที่นั่นจะมีการร้องไห้และขบเขี้ยวเคี้ยวฟัน'

¹³ Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him into the outer darkness; there is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.’

¹⁴ด้วยผู้รับเชิญก็มาก แต่ผู้ที่ทรงเลือกก็น้อย"

¹⁴ For many are called, but few chosen.”

¹⁵ขณะนั้นพวกฟาริสีไปปรึกษากันวางแผนว่า พวกเขาจะจับผิดในถ้อยคำของพระองค์ได้อย่างไร

¹⁵Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk.

¹⁶พวกเขาจึงใช้พวกสาวกของตนกับพวกเฮโรดให้ไปทูลพระองค์ว่า "อาจารย์เจ้าข้า ข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายทราบอยู่ว่าท่านเป็นคนซื่อสัตย์ ได้สั่งสอนทางของพระเจ้าจริงๆ โดยมิได้เอาใจผู้ใด เพราะท่านมิได้เห็นแก่หน้าผู้ใด

¹⁶They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach, for you aren’t partial to anyone.

¹⁷เหตุฉะนั้น ขอโปรดให้พวกข้าพเจ้าทราบว่า ท่านคิดเห็นอย่างไร การที่จะส่งส่วยให้แก่ซีซาร์นั้น ถูกต้องตามพระราชบัญญัติหรือไม่"

¹⁷Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”

¹⁸แต่พระเยซูทรงล่วงรู้ถึงความชั่วร้ายของเขาจึงตรัสว่า "พวกหน้าซื่อใจคด เจ้าทดลองเราทำไม

¹⁸But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test me, you hypocrites?

¹⁹จงเอาเงินที่จะเสียส่วยนั้นมาให้เราดูก่อน" เขาจึงเอาเงินตราเหรียญหนึ่งถวายพระองค์

¹⁹ Show me the tax money.” They brought to him a denarius.

²⁰พระองค์ตรัสถามเขาว่า "รูปและคำจารึกนี้เป็นของใคร"

²⁰He asked them, “Whose is this image and inscription?”

²¹เขาทูลพระองค์ว่า "ของซีซาร์" แล้วพระองค์ตรัสกับเขาว่า "เหตุฉะนั้นของของซีซาร์จงถวายแก่ซีซาร์ และของของพระเจ้าจงถวายแด่พระเจ้า"

²¹They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

²²ครั้นเขาได้ยินคำตรัสตอบของพระองค์นั้นแล้ว เขาก็ประหลาดใจ จึงละพระองค์ไว้และพากันกลับไป

²²When they heard it, they marveled, and left him, and went away.

²³ในวันนั้นมีพวกสะดูสีมาหาพระองค์ พวกนี้เป็นผู้สอนว่า การฟื้นขึ้นมาจากความตายไม่มี เขาจึงทูลถามพระองค์ว่า

²³On that day Sadducees (those who say that there is no resurrection) came to him. They asked him,

²⁴"อาจารย์เจ้าข้า โมเสสสั่งว่า `ถ้าผู้ใดตายยังไม่มีบุตร ก็ให้น้องชายรับพี่สะใภ้ สืบเชื้อสายของพี่ชายไว้'

²⁴saying, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed for his brother.’

²⁵ในพวกเรามีพี่น้องผู้ชายเจ็ดคน พี่หัวปีมีภรรยาแล้วก็ตายเมื่อยังไม่มีบุตร ก็ละภรรยาไว้ให้แก่น้องชาย

²⁵Now there were with us seven brothers. The first married and died, and having no seed left his wife to his brother.

²⁶ฝ่ายคนที่สองที่สามก็เช่นเดียวกัน จนถึงคนที่เจ็ด

²⁶In the same way, the second also, and the third, to the seventh.

²⁷ในที่สุดหญิงนั้นก็ตายด้วย

²⁷After them all, the woman died.

²⁸เหตุฉะนั้นในวันที่จะฟื้นขึ้นมาจากความตาย หญิงนั้นจะเป็นภรรยาของผู้ใดในเจ็ดคนนั้น ด้วยนางได้เป็นภรรยาของชายทั้งเจ็ดคนแล้ว"

²⁸In the resurrection therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had her.”

²⁹พระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาว่า "พวกท่านผิดแล้ว เพราะท่านไม่รู้พระคัมภีร์หรือฤทธิ์เดชของพระเจ้า

²⁹But Jesus answered them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.

³⁰เมื่อมนุษย์ฟื้นขึ้นมาจากความตายนั้น จะไม่มีการสมรสหรือยกให้เป็นสามีภรรยากันอีก แต่จะเป็นเหมือนพวกทูตสวรรค์ของพระเจ้าในสวรรค์

³⁰ For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like God’s angels in heaven.

³¹แต่เรื่องคนตายกลับฟื้นนั้น ท่านทั้งหลายยังไม่ได้อ่านหรือ ซึ่งพระเจ้าได้ตรัสไว้กับพวกท่านว่า

³¹ But concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,

³²`เราเป็นพระเจ้าของอับราฮัม เป็นพระเจ้าของอิสอัค และเป็นพระเจ้าของยาโคบ' พระเจ้ามิได้เป็นพระเจ้าของคนตาย แต่ทรงเป็นพระเจ้าของคนเป็น"

³² ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’ Exodus 3:6 God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

³³ประชาชนทั้งปวงเมื่อได้ยินก็ประหลาดใจด้วยคำสั่งสอนของพระองค์

³³When the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.

³⁴แต่พวกฟาริสีเมื่อได้ยินว่าพระองค์ทรงกระทำให้พวกสะดูสีนิ่งอั้นอยู่ จึงประชุมกัน

³⁴But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, gathered themselves together.

³⁵มีบาเรียนผู้หนึ่งในพวกเขาทดลองถามพระองค์ว่า

³⁵One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him.

³⁶"อาจารย์เจ้าข้า ในพระราชบัญญัตินั้น พระบัญญัติข้อใดสำคัญที่สุด"

³⁶“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?”

³⁷พระเยซูทรงตอบเขาว่า "`จงรักองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าผู้เป็นพระเจ้าของเจ้า ด้วยสุดจิตสุดใจของเจ้า และด้วยสิ้นสุดความคิดของเจ้า'

³⁷Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ Deuteronomy 6:5

³⁸นั่นแหละเป็นพระบัญญัติข้อใหญ่และข้อต้น

³⁸ This is the first and great commandment.

³⁹ข้อที่สองก็เหมือนกัน คือ `จงรักเพื่อนบ้านเหมือนรักตนเอง'

³⁹ A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Leviticus 19:18

⁴⁰พระราชบัญญัติและคำพยากรณ์ทั้งสิ้นก็ขึ้นอยู่กับพระบัญญัติสองข้อนี้"

⁴⁰ The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”

⁴¹เมื่อพวกฟาริสียังประชุมอยู่ที่นั่น พระเยซูทรงถามพวกเขาว่า

⁴¹Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question,

⁴²"พวกท่านคิดอย่างไรด้วยเรื่องพระคริสต์ พระองค์ทรงเป็นเชื้อสายของผู้ใด" เขาตอบพระองค์ว่า "เป็นเชื้อสายของดาวิด"

⁴²saying, “What do you think of the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “Of David.”

⁴³พระองค์ตรัสถามเขาว่า "ถ้าอย่างนั้นเป็นไฉนดาวิดโดยเดชพระวิญญาณจึงได้เรียกพระองค์ว่า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า และรับสั่งว่า

⁴³He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,

⁴⁴`องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสกับองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของข้าพเจ้าว่า จงนั่งที่ขวามือของเรา จนกว่าเราจะกระทำให้ศัตรูของท่านเป็นแท่นรองเท้าของท่าน'

⁴⁴ ‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet?’ Psalm 110:1

⁴⁵ถ้าดาวิดเรียกพระองค์ว่าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระองค์จะเป็นเพียงเชื้อสายของดาวิดอย่างไรได้"

⁴⁵ “If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”

⁴⁶ไม่มีผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดอาจตอบพระองค์สักคำหนึ่ง ตั้งแต่วันนั้นมา ไม่มีใครกล้าซักถามพระองค์ต่อไป

⁴⁶No one was able to answer him a word, neither did any man dare ask him any more questions from that day forth.
