1ตราชูเทียมเท็จนั้นเป็นที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนต่อพระเยโฮวาห์ แต่ลูกตุ้มเที่ยงตรงเป็นความปีติยินดีของพระองค์
1A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight.
2เมื่อความเย่อหยิ่งมาถึง ความอับอายก็มาด้วย แต่ปัญญาอยู่กับคนใจถ่อม
2When pride comes, then comes shame, but with humility comes wisdom.
3ความซื่อสัตย์ของคนที่เที่ยงธรรมย่อมนำเขา แต่ความคดโกงของคนละเมิดย่อมทำลายเขา
3The integrity of the upright shall guide them, but the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them.
4ความมั่งคั่งไม่อำนวยกำไรในวันทรงพระพิโรธ แต่ความชอบธรรมช่วยให้พ้นความมรณา
4Riches don’t profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
5ความชอบธรรมของคนที่ไร้ตำหนิย่อมรักษาทางของเขาให้ตรง แต่คนชั่วร้ายจะล้มลงด้วยความชั่วร้ายของเขาเอง
5The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way, but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
6ความชอบธรรมของคนเที่ยงธรรมย่อมช่วยเขาให้พ้น แต่คนละเมิดจะถูกราคะของเขาจับเป็นเชลย
6The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, but the unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires.
7เมื่อคนชั่วร้ายตาย ความหวังของเขาจะพินาศ และความมุ่งหวังของคนอธรรมก็สูญเปล่า
7When a wicked man dies, hope perishes, and expectation of power comes to nothing.
8คนชอบธรรมรับการช่วยเหลือให้พ้นความลำบาก และคนชั่วร้ายเข้าไปแทนที่
8A righteous person is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked takes his place.
9คนหน้าซื่อใจคดทำลายเพื่อนบ้านของเขาด้วยปาก แต่คนชอบธรรมจะได้รับการช่วยให้พ้นด้วยอาศัยความรู้
9With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge.
10เมื่อคนชอบธรรมอยู่เย็นเป็นสุข บ้านเมืองก็เปรมปรีดิ์ และเมื่อคนชั่วร้ายพินาศ ก็มีเสียงโห่ร้อง
10When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. When the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11โดยพรของคนเที่ยงธรรม บ้านเมืองก็เป็นที่ยกย่อง แต่ว่ามันคว่ำลงโดยปากของคนชั่วร้าย
11By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
12บุคคลที่ขาดสติปัญญาย่อมเหยียดเพื่อนบ้านของตน แต่คนที่มีความเข้าใจก็ยังนิ่งอยู่
12One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding holds his peace.
13บุคคลที่เที่ยวซุบซิบก็เผยความลับ แต่บุคคลที่มีใจสัตย์ซื่อย่อมปิดบังสิ่งหนึ่งสิ่งใดไว้ได้
13One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, but one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.
14ที่ไหนที่ไม่มีคำแนะนำ ประชาชนก็ล้มลง แต่ในที่ซึ่งมีที่ปรึกษามากย่อมมีความปลอดภัย
14Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory.
15บุคคลผู้รับประกันคนอื่นจะต้องทนทุกข์ แต่คนที่เกลียดการรับประกันย่อมปลอดภัย
15He who is collateral for a stranger will suffer for it, but he who refuses pledges of collateral is secure.
16สตรีงามสง่าย่อมได้รับเกียรติ และชายที่มีอำนาจใหญ่โตย่อมมั่งคั่ง
16A gracious woman obtains honor, but violent men obtain riches.
17ชายผู้มีความเอ็นดูย่อมให้ประโยชน์แก่จิตใจตน แต่ชายที่ดุร้ายย่อมทำให้ตัวเองเจ็บ
17The merciful man does good to his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.
18บุคคลชั่วร้ายได้ทำงานที่หลอกลวง แต่บุคคลที่หว่านความชอบธรรมจะได้บำเหน็จที่แน่นอน
18Wicked people earn deceitful wages, but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
19ความชอบธรรมนำไปสู่ชีวิตฉันใด บุคคลผู้ติดตามความชั่วร้ายจะนำไปสู่ความตายของตนเองฉันนั้น
19He who is truly righteous gets life. He who pursues evil gets death.
20คนที่มีใจตลบตะแลงเป็นที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนต่อพระเยโฮวาห์ แต่คนที่เที่ยงตรงในทางของเขาย่อมเป็นความปีติยินดีของพระองค์
20Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to Yahweh, but those whose ways are blameless are his delight.
21ถึงแม้ใครลงมือช่วยก็ตาม ซึ่งคนชั่วร้ายจะไม่มีโทษนั้นหามิได้ แต่บรรดาเชื้อสายของคนชอบธรรมจะได้รับการช่วยให้พ้น
21Most certainly, the evil man will not be unpunished, but the seed of the righteous will be delivered.
22สตรีงามที่ปราศจากความเฉลียวฉลาด ก็เหมือนห่วงทองคำที่จมูกหมู
22Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout, is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.
23ความปรารถนาของคนชอบธรรมจบลงในความดีเท่านั้น ความมุ่งหวังของคนชั่วร้ายจบลงในความพิโรธ
23The desire of the righteous is only good. The expectation of the wicked is wrath.
24บางคนยิ่งจำหน่ายยิ่งมั่งคั่ง บางคนยิ่งยึดสิ่งที่ควรจำหน่ายไว้ยิ่งขัดสนก็มี
24There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.
25บุคคลที่ใจกว้างขวางย่อมได้รับความมั่งคั่ง บุคคลที่รดน้ำ เขาเองจะรับการรดน้ำ
25The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself.
26ประชาชนจะแช่งบุคคลที่กักข้าว แต่พระพรจะอยู่บนศีรษะของผู้ที่ขายข้าว
26People curse someone who withholds grain, but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.
27บุคคลผู้แสวงความดี ก็แสวงความพอใจ แต่ความชั่วร้ายมาถึงผู้ที่เสาะหามัน
27He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but he who searches after evil, it shall come to him.
28บุคคลผู้วางใจในความมั่งคั่งของตนจะล้มละลาย แต่คนชอบธรรมจะรุ่งเรืองอย่างใบไม้เขียว
28He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.
29บุคคลผู้ทำให้ครัวเรือนของเขาลำบากจะรับลมเป็นมรดก และคนโง่จะเป็นคนใช้ของคนที่มีใจฉลาด
29He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind. The foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.
30ผลของคนชอบธรรมเป็นต้นไม้แห่งชีวิต และผู้นำวิญญาณก็มีสติปัญญา
30The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life. He who is wise wins souls.
31ดูเถิด แม้คนชอบธรรมอาจจะถูกทำโทษในแผ่นดินโลก คนชั่วร้ายและคนบาปจะยิ่งกว่านั้นสักเท่าใด
31Behold, the righteous shall be repaid in the earth; how much more the wicked and the sinner!
