1ผู้ใดที่รักคำสั่งสอนก็รักความรู้ แต่บุคคลที่เกลียดการตักเตือนก็เป็นคนโฉด
1Whoever loves correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.
2คนดีเป็นที่โปรดปรานของพระเยโฮวาห์ แต่คนที่คิดการชั่วร้ายพระองค์จะทรงตำหนิ
2A good man shall obtain favor from Yahweh, but he will condemn a man of wicked devices.
3คนจะตั้งอยู่ด้วยความชั่วร้ายไม่ได้ แต่รากของคนชอบธรรมจะไม่รู้จักเคลื่อนย้าย
3A man shall not be established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
4ภรรยาดีเป็นมงกุฎของสามีตน แต่นางผู้ที่นำความอับอายมาก็เหมือนความเปื่อยเน่าในกระดูกสามี
4A worthy woman is the crown of her husband, but a disgraceful wife is as rottenness in his bones.
5ความคิดของคนชอบธรรมนั้นยุติธรรม แต่คำหารือของคนชั่วร้ายนั้นหลอกลวง
5The thoughts of the righteous are just, but the advice of the wicked is deceitful.
6ถ้อยคำของคนชั่วร้ายหมอบคอยเอาโลหิต แต่ปากของคนเที่ยงธรรมจะช่วยคนให้รอดพ้น
6The words of the wicked are about lying in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them.
7คนชั่วร้ายคว่ำแล้วและไม่มีอีก แต่เรือนของคนชอบธรรมยังดำรงอยู่
7The wicked are overthrown, and are no more, but the house of the righteous shall stand.
8คนจะได้คำชมเชยตามสติปัญญาของเขา แต่คนที่ความคิดตลบตะแลงจะเป็นที่ดูหมิ่น
8A man shall be commended according to his wisdom, but he who has a warped mind shall be despised.
9ผู้ที่ถูกสบประมาทและมีคนรับใช้ ก็ดีกว่าคนที่ยกย่องตนเองแต่ขาดอาหาร
9Better is he who is lightly esteemed, and has a servant, than he who honors himself, and lacks bread.
10คนชอบธรรมย่อมเห็นแก่ชีวิตสัตว์ของเขา แต่ความกรุณาของคนชั่วร้ายคือความดุร้าย
10A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
11บุคคลที่ไถนาของตนจะมีอาหารอุดม แต่บุคคลที่ติดตามคนไร้สาระก็ขาดความเข้าใจ
11He who tills his land shall have plenty of bread, but he who chases fantasies is void of understanding.
12คนชั่วร้ายปรารถนาตาข่ายของคนเลว แต่รากของคนชอบธรรมย่อมออกผล
12The wicked desires the plunder of evil men, but the root of the righteous flourishes.
13คนชั่วร้ายย่อมติดบ่วงโดยการละเมิดแห่งริมฝีปากของตน แต่คนชอบธรรมจะหนีพ้นจากความลำบาก
13An evil man is trapped by sinfulness of lips, but the righteous shall come out of trouble.
14จากผลแห่งปากของตนคนก็อิ่มใจในความดี และผลงานแห่งมือของเขาก็จะกลับมาหาเขา
14A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth. The work of a man’s hands shall be rewarded to him.
15ทางของคนโง่นั้นถูกต้องในสายตาของเขาเอง แต่คนที่ยอมฟังคำแนะนำก็ฉลาด
15The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who is wise listens to counsel.
16จะรู้ความโกรธของคนโง่ได้ทันที แต่คนที่หยั่งรู้ย่อมปิดบังความอับอาย
16A fool shows his annoyance the same day, but one who overlooks an insult is prudent.
17บุคคลผู้พูดความจริงกล่าวความชอบธรรม แต่พยานเท็จกล่าวคำหลอกลวง
17He who is truthful testifies honestly, but a false witness lies.
18มีบางคนที่คำพูดพล่อยๆของเขาเหมือนดาบแทง แต่ลิ้นของปราชญ์นำการรักษามาให้
18There is one who speaks rashly like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise heals.
19ริมฝีปากที่พูดจริงจะทนอยู่ได้เป็นนิตย์ แต่ลิ้นที่พูดมุสาอยู่ได้เพียงประเดี๋ยวเดียว
19Truth’s lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only momentary.
20ความหลอกลวงอยู่ในใจของบรรดาผู้คิดแผนการชั่วร้าย แต่บรรดาผู้กะแผนงานแห่งสันติภาพมีความชื่นบาน
20Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, but joy comes to the promoters of peace.
21ไม่มีความชั่วตกอยู่กับคนชอบธรรม แต่คนชั่วร้ายจะเต็มด้วยความร้าย
21No mischief shall happen to the righteous, but the wicked shall be filled with evil.
22ริมฝีปากที่พูดมุสาเป็นที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนต่อพระเยโฮวาห์ แต่คนทั้งหลายที่ประพฤติอย่างจริงใจเป็นความปีติยินดีของพระองค์
22Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight.
23คนที่หยั่งรู้ย่อมเก็บความรู้ไว้ แต่ใจคนโง่ป่าวร้องความโง่เขลา
23A prudent man keeps his knowledge, but the hearts of fools proclaim foolishness.
24มือของคนที่ขยันขันแข็งจะครอบครอง ฝ่ายคนเกียจคร้านจะถูกบังคับให้ทำงานโยธา
24The hands of the diligent ones shall rule, but laziness ends in slave labor.
25ความกระวนกระวายในใจของมนุษย์ถ่วงเขาลง แต่ถ้อยคำที่ดีกระทำให้เขาชื่นชม
25Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but a kind word makes it glad.
26คนชอบธรรมประเสริฐกว่าเพื่อนบ้านของตน แต่ทางของคนชั่วร้ายชักจูงพวกเขาให้หลง
26A righteous person is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
27คนเกียจคร้านจะไม่ปิ้งเหยื่อที่เขาล่ามา แต่ทรัพย์ศฤงคารของคนขยันขันแข็งมีค่า
27The slothful man doesn’t roast his game, but the possessions of diligent men are prized.
28ในวิถีของความชอบธรรมมีชีวิต และในทางนั้นไม่มีความมรณา
28In the way of righteousness is life; in its path there is no death.
