¹จงสรรเสริญพระเยโฮวาห์เถิด โอ จงโมทนาขอบพระคุณพระเยโฮวาห์ เพราะพระองค์ประเสริฐ เพราะความเมตตาของพระองค์ดำรงเป็นนิตย์

¹Praise Yahweh! Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.

²ผู้ใดจะพรรณนาถึงพระราชกิจอันทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์ของพระเยโฮวาห์ ผู้ใดจะแสดงถึงพระเกียรติของพระองค์อย่างครบถ้วนได้

²Who can utter the mighty acts of Yahweh, or fully declare all his praise?

³บรรดาผู้ที่ประพฤติความยุติธรรมก็เป็นสุข และผู้ที่กระทำความชอบธรรมตลอดเวลา

³Blessed are those who keep justice. Blessed is one who does what is right at all times.

⁴ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ ขอทรงระลึกถึงข้าพระองค์ด้วยความโปรดปรานซึ่งพระองค์ทรงมีต่อประชาชนของพระองค์ ขอทรงประทานความรอดของพระองค์ให้แก่ข้าพระองค์

⁴Remember me, Yahweh, with the favor that you show to your people. Visit me with your salvation,

⁵เพื่อข้าพระองค์จะเห็นความเจริญรุ่งเรืองของบรรดาผู้เลือกสรรของพระองค์ เพื่อข้าพระองค์จะเปรมปรีดิ์ในความยินดีแห่งประชาชาติของพระองค์ เพื่อข้าพระองค์จะอวดได้ร่วมกับมรดกของพระองค์

⁵that I may see the prosperity of your chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that I may glory with your inheritance.

⁶ทั้งข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายและบรรพบุรุษของข้าพระองค์ได้กระทำบาปแล้ว ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายได้กระทำความชั่วช้า ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายได้กระทำอย่างชั่วร้าย

⁶We have sinned with our fathers. We have committed iniquity. We have done wickedly.

⁷บรรพบุรุษของข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายเมื่อท่านอยู่ในอียิปต์ท่านมิได้เข้าใจการมหัศจรรย์ของพระองค์ ท่านมิได้ระลึกถึงความเมตตาอันอุดมของพระองค์ แต่ได้กบฏต่อพระองค์ที่ทะเล ที่ทะเลแดง

⁷Our fathers didn’t understand your wonders in Egypt. They didn’t remember the multitude of your loving kindnesses, but were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds .

⁸ถึงกระนั้นพระองค์ยังทรงช่วยท่านให้รอดเพราะเห็นแก่พระนามของพระองค์ เพื่อพระองค์จะให้ทราบถึงฤทธานุภาพอันใหญ่ยิ่งของพระองค์

⁸Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power known.

⁹พระองค์ทรงขนาบทะเลแดง มันก็แห้งไป และพระองค์ทรงนำท่านข้ามที่ลึกอย่างกับเดินข้ามถิ่นทุรกันดาร

⁹He rebuked the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds also, and it was dried up; so he led them through the depths, as through a desert.

¹⁰พระองค์จึงทรงช่วยท่านให้พ้นมือของผู้ที่เกลียดชังท่าน และไถ่ท่านจากเงื้อมมือของศัตรู

¹⁰He saved them from the hand of him who hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

¹¹และน้ำท่วมปฏิปักษ์ของท่าน เขาไม่เหลือสักคนเดียว

¹¹The waters covered their adversaries. There was not one of them left.

¹²แล้วท่านเชื่อพระวจนะของพระองค์ ท่านร้องเพลงสรรเสริญพระองค์

¹²Then they believed his words. They sang his praise.

¹³แต่ไม่ช้าท่านก็ลืมพระราชกิจของพระองค์เสีย ท่านไม่คอยพระดำรัสปรึกษาของพระองค์

¹³They soon forgot his works. They didn’t wait for his counsel,

¹⁴แต่ในถิ่นทุรกันดารนั้นท่านมีความอยากอย่างรุนแรง และได้ทดลองพระเจ้าในทะเลทราย

¹⁴but gave in to craving in the desert, and tested God in the wasteland.

¹⁵พระองค์ทรงประทานสิ่งที่ท่านขอ แต่ทรงใช้โรคผอมแห้งมาท่ามกลางจิตใจท่าน

¹⁵He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.

¹⁶เมื่อคนในค่ายริษยาโมเสสและอาโรนวิสุทธิชนของพระเยโฮวาห์

¹⁶They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron, Yahweh’s saint.

¹⁷พื้นแผ่นดินอ้าปากกลืนดาธานและทับคณะอาบีรัมเสีย

¹⁷The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.

¹⁸ไฟระเบิดในคณะของท่านและเปลวเพลิงผลาญคนชั่วเสีย

¹⁸A fire was kindled in their company. The flame burned up the wicked.

¹⁹ท่านได้สร้างลูกวัวในโฮเรบและนมัสการรูปเคารพหล่อ

¹⁹They made a calf in Horeb, and worshiped a molten image.

²⁰ท่านจึงเอาสง่าราศีของพระเจ้าแลกกับรูปของวัวที่กินหญ้า

²⁰Thus they exchanged their glory for an image of a bull that eats grass.

²¹ท่านลืมพระเจ้า พระผู้ช่วยให้รอดของท่าน ผู้ได้ทรงกระทำพระราชกิจใหญ่โตในอียิปต์

²¹They forgot God, their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt,

²²ทำการมหัศจรรย์ในแผ่นดินของฮามและสิ่งน่าคร้ามกลัวที่ทะเลแดง

²²Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and awesome things by the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds .

²³เพราะฉะนั้นพระองค์ตรัสว่าจะทำลายท่านเสีย ดีแต่โมเสสผู้เลือกสรรของพระองค์ได้มายืนเฝ้าทัดทานพระองค์ เพื่อหันพระพิโรธของพระองค์เสียจากการทำลาย

²³Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had Moses, his chosen, not stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, so that he wouldn’t destroy them.

²⁴แล้วท่านก็ดูถูกแผ่นดินอันร่มรื่นนั้น ท่านไม่เชื่อพระวนจะของพระองค์

²⁴Yes, they despised the pleasant land. They didn’t believe his word,

²⁵ท่านบ่นอยู่ในเต็นท์ของท่าน และไม่ฟังพระสุรเสียงของพระเยโฮวาห์

²⁵but murmured in their tents, and didn’t listen to Yahweh’s voice.

²⁶เพราะฉะนั้นพระองค์ทรงยกพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์ปฏิญาณต่อท่าน ว่าจะทำให้ท่านล้มตายในถิ่นทุรกันดาร

²⁶Therefore he swore to them that he would overthrow them in the wilderness,

²⁷และจะกระจายเชื้อสายของท่านไปท่ามกลางประชาชาติ หว่านเขาไปทั่วประเทศทั้งหลาย

²⁷that he would overthrow their seed among the nations, and scatter them in the lands.

²⁸แล้วท่านก็ไปติดพันอยู่กับพระบาอัลแห่งเมืองเปโอร์ และรับประทานเครื่องสัตวบูชาที่บูชาพระตาย

²⁸They joined themselves also to Baal Peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.

²⁹ท่านยั่วเย้าพระองค์ให้ทรงกริ้วด้วยการกระทำของท่าน และโรคระบาดเกิดขึ้นท่ามกลางท่าน

²⁹Thus they provoked him to anger with their deeds. The plague broke in on them.

³⁰แล้วฟีเนหัสได้ยืนขึ้นจัดการลงโทษและโรคระบาดนั้นก็หยุด

³⁰Then Phinehas stood up, and executed judgment, so the plague was stopped.

³¹ที่เขาทำนั้นพระองค์ทรงนับว่าเป็นความชอบธรรมแก่เขาตลอดทุกชั่วอายุสืบต่อไปเป็นนิตย์

³¹That was credited to him for righteousness, for all generations to come.

³²ท่านทำให้พระองค์กริ้วที่น้ำแห่งการโต้เถียง เพราะเรื่องของท่านนี้ โมเสสก็พลอยเสียหายด้วย

³²They angered him also at the waters of Meribah, so that Moses was troubled for their sakes;

³³เพราะท่านทำให้จิตใจโมเสสขมขื่น ดังนั้นริมฝีปากของเขาจึงพูดถ้อยคำหุนหัน

³³because they were rebellious against his spirit, he spoke rashly with his lips.

³⁴ท่านมิได้ทำลายชนชาติทั้งหลายตามที่พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงบัญชาท่านไว้

³⁴They didn’t destroy the peoples, as Yahweh commanded them,

³⁵แต่ท่านได้ปะปนกับประชาชาติเหล่านั้น และหัดทำอย่างที่เขาทำกัน

³⁵but mixed themselves with the nations, and learned their works.

³⁶ท่านปรนนิบัติรูปเคารพของเขาซึ่งกลายเป็นบ่วงสำหรับท่าน

³⁶They served their idols, which became a snare to them.

³⁷ท่านฆ่าบุตรชายและบุตรสาวของท่านถวายเป็นเครื่องสักการบูชาแก่ปีศาจ

³⁸ท่านเทโลหิตผู้ไร้ผิดออกมาคือโลหิตบุตรชายบุตรสาวของท่าน ผู้ซึ่งท่านได้ฆ่าเป็นเครื่องสักการบูชาแก่รูปเคารพแห่งคานาอัน แผ่นดินก็มลทินไปด้วยโลหิต

³⁸They shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan. The land was polluted with blood.

³⁹ท่านจึงเป็นคนไม่สะอาดด้วยการกระทำของท่าน และประพฤติเยี่ยงโสเภณีในการกระทำของท่าน

³⁹Thus were they defiled with their works, and prostituted themselves in their deeds.

⁴⁰แล้วความกริ้วของพระเยโฮวาห์ก็พลุ่งขึ้นต่อประชาชนของพระองค์ และพระองค์ทรงรังเกียจมรดกของพระองค์

⁴⁰Therefore Yahweh burned with anger against his people. He abhorred his inheritance.

⁴¹พระองค์ทรงมอบท่านไว้ในมือประชาชาติต่างๆ บรรดาผู้ที่เกลียดท่านจึงปกครองเหนือท่าน

⁴¹He gave them into the hand of the nations. Those who hated them ruled over them.

⁴²ศัตรูของท่านได้บีบบังคับท่านและท่านตกไปอยู่ใต้อำนาจของเขา

⁴²Their enemies also oppressed them. They were brought into subjection under their hand.

⁴³พระองค์ทรงช่วยท่านให้พ้นหลายครั้ง แต่ท่านมักกบฏในจุดประสงค์ของท่าน และถูกเหยียดลงด้วยความชั่วช้าของท่าน

⁴³Many times he delivered them, but they were rebellious in their counsel, and were brought low in their iniquity.

⁴⁴ถึงอย่างไร เมื่อพระองค์สดับเสียงร้องทูลของท่าน พระองค์ทรงสนพระทัยในความทุกข์ใจของท่าน

⁴⁴Nevertheless he regarded their distress, when he heard their cry.

⁴⁵เพื่อเห็นแก่ท่าน พระองค์ทรงระลึกถึงพันธสัญญาของพระองค์ และกลับทรงกรุณาตามความเมตตาอันอุดมของพระองค์

⁴⁵He remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.

⁴⁶พระองค์ทรงให้ท่านได้รับความสงสารจากบรรดาผู้ที่ได้ยึดท่านไปเป็นเชลย

⁴⁶He made them also to be pitied by all those who carried them captive.

⁴⁷ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลาย ขอทรงช่วยข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายให้รอด และขอทรงรวบรวมข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายจากท่ามกลางประชาชาติต่างๆ เพื่อข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายจะโมทนาขอบพระคุณพระนามบริสุทธิ์ของพระองค์ และเริงโลดในการสรรเสริญพระองค์

⁴⁷Save us, Yahweh, our God, gather us from among the nations, to give thanks to your holy name, to triumph in your praise!

⁴⁸จงถวายสาธุการแด่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของอิสราเอลแต่นิรันดร์กาลจนถึงนิรันดร์กาล และขอประชาชนทั้งปวงกล่าวว่า "เอเมน" จงสรรเสริญพระเยโฮวาห์เถิด

⁴⁸Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from everlasting even to everlasting! Let all the people say, “Amen.” Praise Yah! BOOK V
