¹พี่น้องทั้งหลาย ด้วยเหตุนี้โดยเห็นแก่ความเมตตากรุณาของพระเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าจึงวิงวอนท่านทั้งหลายให้ถวายตัวของท่านแด่พระองค์ เพื่อเป็นเครื่องบูชาที่มีชีวิต อันบริสุทธิ์ และเป็นที่พอพระทัยพระเจ้า ซึ่งเป็นการปรนนิบัติอันสมควรของท่านทั้งหลาย

¹Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.

²อย่าประพฤติตามอย่างชาวโลกนี้ แต่จงรับการเปลี่ยนแปลงจิตใจเสียใหม่ เพื่อท่านจะได้ทราบพระประสงค์ของพระเจ้าว่าอะไรดี อะไรเป็นที่ชอบพระทัย และอะไรดียอดเยี่ยม

²Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.

³ข้าพเจ้าขอกล่าวแก่ท่านทั้งหลายทุกคน โดยพระคุณซึ่งทรงประทานแก่ข้าพเจ้าแล้วว่า อย่าคิดถือตัวเกินที่ตนควรจะคิดนั้น แต่จงคิดให้ถ่อมสุขุมสมกับขนาดความเชื่อที่พระเจ้าได้ทรงโปรดประทานแก่มนุษย์ทุกคน

³For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith.

⁴เพราะว่าในร่างกายอันเดียวนั้นเรามีอวัยวะหลายอย่าง และอวัยวะนั้นๆมิได้มีหน้าที่เหมือนกันฉันใด

⁴For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members don’t have the same function,

⁵พวกเราผู้เป็นหลายคนยังเป็นกายอันเดียวในพระคริสต์ และเป็นอวัยวะแก่กันและกันฉันนั้น

⁵so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

⁶และเราทุกคนมีของประทานที่ต่างกันตามพระคุณที่ได้ทรงประทานให้แก่เรา คือถ้าเป็นการพยากรณ์ ก็จงพยากรณ์ตามกำลังของความเชื่อ

⁶Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;

⁷ถ้าเป็นการปรนนิบัติก็จงปรนนิบัติ ถ้าเป็นการสั่งสอนก็จงสั่งสอน

⁷or service, let us give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching;

⁸ถ้าเป็นการเตือนสติก็จงเตือนสติ ถ้าเป็นการบริจาคก็จงให้โดยเต็มใจ ผู้ที่ครอบครองก็จงครอบครองด้วยเอาใจใส่ ผู้ที่แสดงความเมตตาก็จงแสดงด้วยใจยินดี

⁸or he who exhorts, to his exhorting: he who gives, let him do it with liberality; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

⁹จงให้ความรักปราศจากมารยา จงเกลียดชังสิ่งที่ชั่ว จงยึดมั่นในสิ่งที่ดี

⁹Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.

¹⁰จงรักกันฉันพี่น้อง ส่วนการที่ให้เกียรติแก่กันและกันนั้น จงถือว่าผู้อื่นดีกว่าตัว

¹⁰In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate one to another; in honor preferring one another;

¹¹อย่าเกียจคร้านในการงาน จงมีจิตใจกระตือรือร้น จงปรนนิบัติองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า

¹¹not lagging in diligence; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

¹²จงชื่นชมยินดีในความหวัง จงอดทนต่อความยากลำบาก จงขะมักเขม้นอธิษฐาน

¹²rejoicing in hope; enduring in troubles; continuing steadfastly in prayer;

¹³จงช่วยวิสุทธิชนเมื่อเขาขัดสน จงมีน้ำใจอัธยาศัยไมตรี

¹³contributing to the needs of the saints; given to hospitality.

¹⁴จงอวยพรแก่คนที่ข่มเหงท่าน จงอวยพร อย่าแช่งด่าเลย

¹⁴Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse.

¹⁵จงชื่นชมยินดีกับผู้ที่มีความชื่นชมยินดี จงร้องไห้กับผู้ที่ร้องไห้

¹⁵Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep.

¹⁶จงเป็นน้ำหนึ่งใจเดียวกัน อย่าใฝ่สูง แต่จงถ่อมใจลงมาหาคนที่ต่ำต้อย อย่าถือว่าตัวฉลาด

¹⁶Be of the same mind one toward another. Don’t set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Don’t be wise in your own conceits.

¹⁷อย่าทำชั่วตอบแทนชั่วแก่ผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดเลย `แต่จงมุ่งกระทำสิ่งที่ซื่อสัตย์ในสายตาของคนทั้งปวง'

¹⁷Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men.

¹⁸ถ้าเป็นได้คือเรื่องที่ขึ้นอยู่กับท่าน จงอยู่อย่างสงบสุขกับทุกคน

¹⁸If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.

¹⁹ท่านผู้เป็นที่รักของข้าพเจ้า อย่าทำการแก้แค้น แต่จงมอบการนั้นไว้แล้วแต่พระเจ้าจะทรงลงพระอาชญา เพราะมีคำเขียนไว้แล้วว่า `องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสว่า "การแก้แค้นเป็นของเรา เราเองจะตอบสนอง"

¹⁹Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.” Deuteronomy 32:35

²⁰เหตุฉะนั้น ถ้าศัตรูของท่านหิว จงให้อาหารเขารับประทาน ถ้าเขากระหาย จงให้น้ำเขาดื่ม เพราะว่าการทำอย่างนั้นเป็นการสุมถ่านที่ลุกโพลงไว้บนศีรษะของเขา'

²⁰Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Proverbs 25:21-22

²¹อย่าให้ความชั่วชนะท่านได้ แต่จงชนะความชั่วด้วยความดี

²¹Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
