¹เหตุฉะนั้นการปรับโทษจึงไม่มีแก่คนทั้งหลายที่อยู่ในพระเยซูคริสต์ ผู้ไม่ดำเนินตามฝ่ายเนื้อหนัง แต่ตามฝ่ายพระวิญญาณ

¹There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. NU omits “who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit”

²เพราะว่ากฎของพระวิญญาณแห่งชีวิตในพระเยซูคริสต์ ได้ทำให้ข้าพเจ้าพ้นจากกฎแห่งบาปและความตาย

²For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.

³เพราะสิ่งซึ่งพระราชบัญญัติทำไม่ได้เพราะเนื้อหนังทำให้อ่อนกำลังไปนั้น พระเจ้าทรงใช้พระบุตรของพระองค์มาในสภาพเสมือนเนื้อหนังที่บาปและเพื่อไถ่บาป พระองค์จึงได้ทรงปรับโทษบาปที่อยู่ในเนื้อหนัง

³For what the law couldn’t do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh;

⁴เพื่อความชอบธรรมของพระราชบัญญัติจะได้สำเร็จในพวกเรา ผู้ไม่ดำเนินตามฝ่ายเนื้อหนัง แต่ตามฝ่ายพระวิญญาณ

⁴that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

⁵เพราะว่า คนทั้งหลายที่อยู่ฝ่ายเนื้อหนังก็ปักใจในสิ่งซึ่งเป็นของของเนื้อหนัง แต่คนทั้งหลายที่อยู่ฝ่ายพระวิญญาณก็ปักใจในสิ่งซึ่งเป็นของของพระวิญญาณ

⁵For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

⁶ด้วยว่าซึ่งปักใจอยู่กับเนื้อหนังก็คือความตาย และซึ่งปักใจอยู่กับพระวิญญาณก็คือชีวิตและสันติสุข

⁶For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;

⁷เหตุว่าใจซึ่งปักอยู่กับเนื้อหนังนั้นก็เป็นศัตรูต่อพระเจ้า เพราะหาได้อยู่ใต้บังคับพระราชบัญญัติของพระเจ้าไม่ และที่จริงจะอยู่ใต้บังคับพระราชบัญญัตินั้นไม่ได้

⁷because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God’s law, neither indeed can it be.

⁸เพราะฉะนั้นคนทั้งหลายที่อยู่ฝ่ายเนื้อหนังจะเป็นที่ชอบพระทัยพระเจ้าก็หามิได้

⁸Those who are in the flesh can’t please God.

⁹ถ้าพระวิญญาณของพระเจ้าทรงสถิตอยู่ในท่านทั้งหลายจริงๆแล้ว ท่านก็มิได้อยู่ฝ่ายเนื้อหนัง แต่อยู่ฝ่ายพระวิญญาณ แต่ถ้าผู้ใดไม่มีพระวิญญาณของพระคริสต์ ผู้นั้นก็ไม่เป็นของพระองค์

⁹But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.

¹⁰และถ้าพระคริสต์อยู่ในท่านทั้งหลายแล้ว ร่างกายก็ตายไปเพราะบาป แต่จิตวิญญาณก็มีชีวิตเพราะความชอบธรรม

¹⁰If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

¹¹แต่ถ้าพระวิญญาณของพระองค์ ผู้ทรงชุบให้พระเยซูเป็นขึ้นมาจากความตายทรงสถิตอยู่ในท่านทั้งหลาย พระองค์ผู้ทรงชุบให้พระคริสต์เป็นขึ้นมาจากความตายแล้วนั้น จะทรงกระทำให้กายซึ่งต้องตายของท่าน เป็นขึ้นมาใหม่ด้วย โดยพระวิญญาณของพระองค์ซึ่งทรงสถิตอยู่ในท่านทั้งหลาย

¹¹But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

¹²ท่านพี่น้องทั้งหลาย เหตุฉะนั้นเราทั้งหลายเป็นหนี้ แต่มิใช่เป็นหนี้ฝ่ายเนื้อหนังที่จะดำเนินชีวิตตามเนื้อหนัง

¹²So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

¹³เพราะว่าถ้าท่านทั้งหลายดำเนินชีวิตตามฝ่ายเนื้อหนังแล้ว ท่านจะต้องตาย แต่ถ้าโดยฝ่ายพระวิญญาณท่านได้ทำลายการของฝ่ายกายเสีย ท่านก็จะดำรงชีวิตได้

¹³For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

¹⁴ด้วยว่าพระวิญญาณของพระเจ้าได้ทรงนำพาคนหนึ่งคนใด คนเหล่านั้นก็เป็นบุตรของพระเจ้า

¹⁴For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.

¹⁵เหตุว่าท่านไม่ได้รับนิสัยอย่างทาสซึ่งทำให้ตกในความกลัวอีก แต่ท่านได้รับพระวิญญาณผู้ทรงให้เป็นบุตรซึ่งให้เราทั้งหลายร้องเรียกพระเจ้าว่า "อับบา" คือพระบิดา

¹⁵For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba Abba is an Aramaic word for father or daddy, often used affectionately and respectfully in prayer to our Father in heaven. ! Father!”

¹⁶พระวิญญาณนั้นเป็นพยานร่วมกับจิตวิญญาณของเราทั้งหลายว่า เราทั้งหลายเป็นบุตรของพระเจ้า

¹⁶The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God;

¹⁷และถ้าเราทั้งหลายเป็นบุตรแล้ว เราก็เป็นทายาทคือเป็นทายาทของพระเจ้า และเป็นทายาทร่วมกับพระคริสต์ เมื่อเราทั้งหลายทนทุกข์ทรมานด้วยกันกับพระองค์นั้น ก็เพื่อเราทั้งหลายจะได้สง่าราศีด้วยกันกับพระองค์ด้วย

¹⁷and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

¹⁸เพราะข้าพเจ้าเห็นว่า ความทุกข์ลำบากแห่งสมัยปัจจุบันนี้ ไม่สมควรที่จะเอาไปเปรียบกับสง่าราศีซึ่งจะเผยในเราทั้งหลาย

¹⁸For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us.

¹⁹ด้วยว่าสรรพสิ่งที่ทรงสร้างแล้ว มีความเพียรคอยท่าปรารถนาให้บุตรทั้งหลายของพระเจ้าปรากฏ

¹⁹For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.

²⁰เพราะว่าสรรพสิ่งเหล่านั้นต้องเข้าอยู่ในอำนาจของอนิจจัง ไม่ใช่ตามใจชอบของตนเอง แต่เป็นไปตามพระองค์ผู้ทรงบันดาลให้เข้าอยู่นั้นด้วยมีความหวังใจ

²⁰For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope

²¹ว่าสรรพสิ่งเหล่านั้นจะได้รอดจากอำนาจแห่งความเปื่อยเน่า และจะเข้าในเสรีภาพซึ่งมีสง่าราศีแห่งบุตรทั้งหลายของพระเจ้าด้วย

²¹that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.

²²เรารู้อยู่ว่า บรรดาสรรพสิ่งที่ทรงสร้างนั้น กำลังคร่ำครวญและผจญความทุกข์ลำบากเจ็บปวดด้วยกันมาจนทุกวันนี้

²²For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.

²³และไม่ใช่สรรพสิ่งทั้งปวงเท่านั้น แต่เราทั้งหลายเองด้วย ผู้ได้รับผลแรกของพระวิญญาณ ตัวเราเองก็ยังคร่ำครวญคอยจะเป็นอย่างบุตร คือที่จะทรงไถ่กายของเราทั้งหลายไว้

²³Not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for adoption, the redemption of our body.

²⁴เหตุว่าเราทั้งหลายรอดได้เพราะความหวังใจ แต่ความหวังใจในสิ่งที่เราเห็นได้หาได้เป็นความหวังใจไม่ ด้วยว่าใครเล่าจะยังหวังในสิ่งที่เขาเห็น

²⁴For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees?

²⁵แต่ถ้าเราทั้งหลายคอยหวังใจในสิ่งที่เรายังไม่ได้เห็น เราจึงมีความเพียรคอยสิ่งนั้น

²⁵But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience.

²⁶พระวิญญาณก็ทรงช่วยเราเมื่อเราอ่อนกำลังด้วยเช่นกัน เพราะเราไม่รู้ว่าเราควรจะอธิษฐานขอสิ่งใดอย่างไร แต่พระวิญญาณเองทรงช่วยขอเพื่อเราด้วยความคร่ำครวญซึ่งเหลือที่จะพูดได้

²⁶In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered.

²⁷และพระองค์ ผู้ทรงตรวจค้นใจมนุษย์ ก็ทรงทราบความหมายของพระวิญญาณ เพราะว่าพระองค์ทรงอธิษฐานขอเพื่อวิสุทธิชนตามที่ชอบพระทัยพระเจ้า

²⁷He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit’s mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God.

²⁸เรารู้ว่า พระเจ้าทรงร่วมมือกับคนทั้งหลายที่รักพระองค์ให้เกิดผลอันดีในทุกสิ่ง คือคนทั้งปวงที่พระองค์ได้ทรงเรียกตามพระประสงค์ของพระองค์

²⁸We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

²⁹เพราะว่าผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดที่พระองค์ได้ทรงทราบอยู่แล้ว ผู้นั้นพระองค์ได้ทรงตั้งไว้ให้เป็นตามลักษณะพระฉายแห่งพระบุตรของพระองค์ เพื่อพระบุตรนั้นจะได้เป็นบุตรหัวปีท่ามกลางพวกพี่น้องเป็นอันมาก

²⁹For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. The word for “brothers” here and where context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.”

³⁰ยิ่งกว่านั้นบรรดาผู้ที่พระองค์ได้ทรงตั้งไว้นั้น พระองค์ได้ทรงเรียกมาด้วย และผู้ที่พระองค์ได้ทรงเรียกมานั้น พระองค์ได้ทรงโปรดให้เป็นผู้ชอบธรรม และผู้ที่พระองค์ทรงโปรดให้เป็นผู้ชอบธรรม พระองค์ก็ทรงโปรดให้มีสง่าราศีด้วย

³⁰Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified.

³¹ถ้าเช่นนั้นเราจะว่าอย่างไร ถ้าพระเจ้าทรงอยู่ฝ่ายเรา ใครจะขัดขวางเรา

³¹What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

³²พระองค์ผู้มิได้ทรงหวงพระบุตรของพระองค์เอง แต่ได้ทรงโปรดประทานพระบุตรนั้นเพื่อเราทั้งหลาย ถ้าเช่นนั้นพระองค์จะไม่ทรงโปรดประทานสิ่งสารพัดให้เราทั้งหลาย ด้วยกันกับพระบุตรนั้นหรือ

³²He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?

³³ใครจะฟ้องคนเหล่านั้นที่พระเจ้าได้ทรงเลือกไว้ พระเจ้าทรงเป็นผู้ที่ทำให้เราเป็นคนชอบธรรมแล้ว

³³Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies.

³⁴ใครเล่าจะเป็นผู้ปรับโทษอีก ก็คือพระคริสต์ผู้ทรงสิ้นพระชนม์แล้ว และยิ่งกว่านั้นอีกได้ทรงคืนพระชนม์ ทรงสถิต ณ เบื้องขวาพระหัตถ์ของพระเจ้า และทรงอธิษฐานขอเพื่อเราทั้งหลายด้วย

³⁴Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

³⁵แล้วใครจะให้เราทั้งหลายขาดจากความรักของพระคริสต์ได้เล่า จะเป็นความยากลำบาก หรือความทุกข์ หรือการข่มเหง หรือการกันดารอาหาร หรือการเปลือยกาย หรือการถูกโพยภัย หรือการถูกคมดาบหรือ

³⁵Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

³⁶ตามที่เขียนไว้แล้วว่า `เพราะเห็นแก่พระองค์ ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายจึงถูกประหารวันยังค่ำ และนับว่าเป็นเหมือนแกะสำหรับจะเอาไปฆ่า'

³⁶Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Psalm 44:22

³⁷แต่ว่าในเหตุการณ์ทั้งปวงเหล่านี้ เรามีชัยเหลือล้นโดยพระองค์ผู้ได้ทรงรักเราทั้งหลาย

³⁷No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

³⁸เพราะข้าพเจ้าเชื่อมั่นว่า แม้ความตาย หรือชีวิต หรือทูตสวรรค์ หรือผู้มีบรรดาศักดิ์ หรือฤทธิ์เดชทั้งหลาย หรือสิ่งซึ่งมีอยู่ในปัจจุบันนี้ หรือสิ่งซึ่งจะมีในภายหน้า

³⁸For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

³⁹หรือซึ่งสูง หรือซึ่งลึก หรือสิ่งอื่นใดๆที่ได้ทรงสร้างแล้วนั้น จะไม่สามารถกระทำให้เราทั้งหลายขาดจากความรักของพระเจ้า ซึ่งมีอยู่ในพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเราได้

³⁹nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
