1Ferisiler İsa'nın Yahya'dan daha çok öğrenci edinip vaftiz ettiğini duydular. (Aslında İsa'nın kendisi değil, öğrencileri vaftiz ediyorlardı.) İsa bunu öğrenince Yahudiye'den ayrılıp yine Celile'ye gitti.
1Therefore when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John

5Böylece Samiriye'nin Sihar denilen kentine geldi. Burası Yakup'un kendi oğlu Yusuf'a vermiş olduğu toprağın yakınındaydı.
3he left Judea, and departed into Galilee.
6Yakup'un kuyusu da oradaydı. İsa, yolculuktan yorulmuş olduğu için kuyunun yanına oturmuştu. Saat on iki sularıydı.
4He needed to pass through Samaria.
7Samiriyeli bir kadın su çekmeye geldi. İsa ona, «Bana su ver, içeyim» dedi.
5So he came to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son, Joseph.
8İsa'nın öğrencileri yiyecek satın almak için kente gitmişlerdi.
6Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being tired from his journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour noon .
9Samiriyeli kadın, «Sen Yahudisin, bense Samiriyeli bir kadınım» dedi, «nasıl olur da benden su istersin?» Çünkü Yahudilerin Samiriyelilerle ilişkileri yoktur.
7A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.”
10İsa kadına şu cevabı verdi: «Eğer sen Tanrı'nın armağanını ve sana, `Bana su ver, içeyim' diyenin kim olduğunu bilseydin, sen O'ndan dilerdin, O da sana yaşam suyunu verirdi.»
8For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
11Kadın, «Efendim» dedi, «su çekecek bir şeyin yok, kuyu da derin. Böyle olunca yaşam suyunu nereden bulacaksın?
9The Samaritan woman therefore said to him, “How is it that you, being a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
12Sen, bu kuyuyu bize vermiş, kendisi, oğulları ve davarları ondan içmiş olan atamız Yakup'tan daha mı büyüksün?»
10Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”
13İsa şöyle cevap verdi: «Bu sudan her içen yine susayacak.
11The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. From where then have you that living water?
14Oysa benim vereceğim sudan içen sonsuza dek susamaz. Benim vereceğim su, içende sonsuz yaşam için fışkıran bir su kaynağı olacak.»
12Are you greater than our father, Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, as did his children, and his livestock?”
15Kadın, «Efendim» dedi, «bu suyu bana ver. Böylece ne susayayım, ne de su çekmek için buraya kadar geleyim.»
13Jesus answered her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again,
16İsa, «Git, kocanı çağır ve buraya gel» dedi.
14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst again; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”
17Kadın, «Kocam yok» cevabını verdi. İsa, «Kocam yok demekle doğruyu söyledin» dedi.
15The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I don’t get thirsty, neither come all the way here to draw.”
18«Beş kocaya vardın. Şimdi birlikte yaşadığın adamsa kocan değildir. Doğruyu söyledin.»
16Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”
19Kadın, «Efendim, anlıyorum, sen bir peygambersin» dedi.
17The woman answered, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You said well, ‘I have no husband,’
20«Atalarımız bu dağda tapındılar, ama sizler tapınılması gereken yerin Kudüs'te olduğunu söylüyorsunuz.»
18 for you have had five husbands; and he whom you now have is not your husband. This you have said truly.”
21İsa ona şöyle dedi: «Kadın, bana inan, öyle bir saat geliyor ki, Baba'ya ne bu dağda, ne de Kudüs'te tapınacaksınız!
19The woman said to him, “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet.
22Siz bilmediğinize tapınıyorsunuz, biz bildiğimize tapınıyoruz. Çünkü kurtuluş Yahudilerdendir.
20Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship.”
23Ama içtenlikle tapınanların Baba'ya ruhta ve gerçekte tapınacakları saat geliyor. İşte, o saat şimdidir. Baba da kendisine böyle tapınanları arıyor.
21Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour comes, when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, will you worship the Father.
24Tanrı ruhtur, O'na tapınanlar da ruhta ve gerçekte tapınmalıdırlar.»
22 You worship that which you don’t know. We worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews.
25Kadın İsa'ya, «Mesih denilen meshedilmiş Olan'ın geleceğini biliyorum» dedi, «O gelince bize her şeyi bildirecektir.»
23 But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such to be his worshippers.
26İsa, «Seninle konuşan ben, O'yum» dedi.
24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
27Bu sırada İsa'nın öğrencileri geldiler. O'nun bir kadınla konuşmasına şaştılar. Bununla birlikte hiçbiri, «Ne istiyorsun?» ya da, «O kadınla neden konuşuyorsun?» demedi.
25The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah comes,” (he who is called Christ). “When he has come, he will declare to us all things.”
28Sonra kadın su testisini bırakarak kente gitti ve halka şöyle dedi: «Gelin, yapmış olduğum her şeyi bana söyleyen adamı görün. Acaba Mesih bu mudur?»
26Jesus said to her, “I am he, the one who speaks to you.”
30Halk da kentten çıkıp İsa'ya doğru gelmeye başladı.
27At this, his disciples came. They marveled that he was speaking with a woman; yet no one said, “What are you looking for?” or, “Why do you speak with her?”
31Bu arada öğrencileri O'na, «Rabbî, yemek ye!» diye rica ediyorlardı.
28So the woman left her water pot, and went away into the city, and said to the people,
32Ama İsa, «Benim, sizin bilmediğiniz bir yiyeceğim var» dedi.
29“Come, see a man who told me everything that I did. Can this be the Christ?”
33Öğrenciler birbirlerine, «Acaba biri O'na yiyecek mi getirdi?» diye sordular.
30They went out of the city, and were coming to him.
34İsa, «Benim yemeğim, beni gönderenin isteğini yerine getirmek ve O'nun işini tamamlamaktır» dedi.
31In the meanwhile, the disciples urged him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.”
35«Sizler, `Ekinleri biçmeye daha dört ay var' demiyor musunuz? İşte, size söylüyorum, başınızı kaldırıp tarlalara bakın. Ekinler sararmış, biçilmeye hazır!
32But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you don’t know about.”
36Eken ve biçen birlikte sevinsinler diye, biçen kişi şimdiden ücretini alır ve sonsuz yaşam için ürün toplar.
33The disciples therefore said one to another, “Has anyone brought him something to eat?”
37`Biri eker, başkası biçer' sözü bu durumda doğrudur.
34Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to accomplish his work.
38Ben sizi, emek vermediğiniz bir ürünü biçmeye gönderdim. Başkaları emek verdiler, siz ise onların emeğinden yararlandınız.»
35 Don’t you say, ‘There are yet four months until the harvest?’ Behold, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and look at the fields, that they are white for harvest already.
39O kentten birçok Samiriyeli, «Yapmış olduğum her şeyi bana söyledi» diye tanıklık eden kadının sözü üzerine İsa'ya iman etti.
36 He who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit to eternal life; that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.
40Samiriyeliler O'na gelip yanlarında kalması için rica ettiler. O da orada iki gün kaldı.
37 For in this the saying is true, ‘One sows, and another reaps.’
41O'nun sözü üzerine daha birçokları iman etti.
38 I sent you to reap that for which you haven’t labored. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.”
42Bunlar kadına: «Bizim iman etmemizin nedeni artık senin sözlerin değildir» diyorlardı. «Kendimiz işittik, O'nun gerçekten dünyanın Kurtarıcısı olduğunu biliyoruz.»
39From that city many of the Samaritans believed in him because of the word of the woman, who testified, “He told me everything that I did.”
43Bu iki günden sonra İsa oradan ayrılıp Celile'ye gitti.
40So when the Samaritans came to him, they begged him to stay with them. He stayed there two days.
44İsa'nın kendisi, bir peygamberin kendi memleketinde saygı görmediğine tanıklık etmişti.
41Many more believed because of his word.
45Celile'ye geldiği zaman Celileliler O'nu iyi karşıladılar. Çünkü onlar da bayram için gitmişler ve bayramda O'nun Kudüs'te yaptığı her şeyi görmüşlerdi.
42They said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of your speaking; for we have heard for ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”
46İsa yine, suyu şaraba çevirdiği Celile'nin Kana köyüne geldi. Orada saraya bağlı bir memur vardı. Oğlu Kefernahum'da hastaydı.
43After the two days he went out from there and went into Galilee.
47Adam, İsa'nın Yahudiye'den Celile'ye geldiğini işitince yanına gitti, ölmek üzere olan oğlunu gelip iyileştirmesi için O'na yalvardı.
44For Jesus himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.
48O zaman İsa adama, «Sizler, belirtiler ve harikalar görmedikçe iman etmeyeceksiniz» dedi.
45So when he came into Galilee, the Galileans received him, having seen all the things that he did in Jerusalem at the feast, for they also went to the feast.

46Jesus came therefore again to Cana of Galilee, where he made the water into wine. There was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum.

47When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to him, and begged him that he would come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.
51Daha yoldayken köleleri onu karşılayıp oğlunun yaşamakta olduğunu bildirdiler.
48Jesus therefore said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders, you will in no way believe.”
52Adam onlara, oğlunun iyileşmeye başladığı saati sordu. «Dün öğle üstü saat birde ateşi düştü» dediler.
49The nobleman said to him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.”
53Baba bunun, İsa'nın, «Oğlun yaşayacak» dediği saat olduğunu anladı. Kendisi ve bütün ev halkı iman etti.
50Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your son lives.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.
54Bu, İsa'nın Yahudiye'den Celile'ye gelişinde yaptığı ikinci mucizeydi.
51As he was now going down, his servants met him and reported, saying “Your child lives!”
52So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. They said therefore to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour, 1:00 P. M. the fever left him.”
53So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” He believed, as did his whole house.
54This is again the second sign that Jesus did, having come out of Judea into Galilee.
