Acts

5

1Ria wo'o hadua tomane, hanga' -na Ananias, hante tobine-na to rahanga' Safira. Ananias toei, mpobalu' wo'o-i-hawo tana' -na.
1But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
2Hantongo' doi oli tana' -na toe natonu hi suro Pue' Yesus, na'uli': "Oi-mi omea doi oli tana' -ku." Ntaa' natimamahi moto-di-hana hantongo' -e. Babehia-na toe, kahibaliaa-ra hira' hancamoko.
2and kept back [part] of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.
3Na'uli' Petrus mpo'uli' -ki Ananias: "Napa-di-kona pai' nupelele' Magau' Anudaa' mpokuasai nono-nue, doko' mpakawa' Inoha' Tomoroli' -e? Nu'uli' doi oli tana' -nu nutonu omea-mi, ntaa' nutimamahi moto-di-kona hantongo' -e!
3But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thy heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back [part] of the price of the land?
4Kako'ia-na nupobalu' tana' tetu, iko moto-kowo pue' -na. Pai' ka'oti-na wo'o nupobalu', oli-na bate-na iko moto-kowo pue' -na. Jadi', napa-di pai' ria patuju nono-nu mpobabehi hewa tetu-e? Bela kai' toi to nupakawa'. Alata'ala-hana to nupakawa'!"
4While it remained, did it not remain thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thy power? How is it that thou hast conceived this thing in thy heart? thou has not lied unto men, but unto God.
5Kana'epe-na Ananias lolita Petrus toe, modungka ncorobaa-imi kaliliu mate. Hawe'ea tauna to mpo'epe to jadi' toe, uma mowo eka' -ra.
5And Ananias hearing these words fell down and gave up the ghost: and great fear came upon all that heard it.
6Ngkai ree, ba hangkuja dua tomane mpoputu' woto-na Ananias, pai' rakeni hilou ratana.
6And the young men arose and wrapped him round, and they carried him out and buried him.
7Ba ria nte tolu jaa ngkai ree, rata wo'o-imi-hawo tobine-na Ananias hi Petrus. Aga uma-hawo na'incai napa to jadi' we'i.
7And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.
8Na'uli' Petrus mpo'uli' -ki: "Uli' -ka pe', tana' -ni to nipobalu' -e, ba tohe'i omea mpu'u-mi oli-nae?" Na'uli' Safira: "Io', tetu mpu'u-mi omea."
8And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much. And she said, Yea, for so much.
9Na'uli' Petrus: "Napa pai' hibalia nono-ni koi' hancamoko, doko' mpemai-mai roe-na Inoha' Pue'? Hilo-dile! Tauna to lako' oti mpotana tomane-nuele, etu-ramo hi wobo'. Iko wo'o mpai' rakeni hilou ratana."
9But Peter [said] unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to try the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them that have buried thy husband are at the door, and they shall carry thee out.
10Kana'epe-na lolita Petrus toe, kamodungka-na wo'o-mi-hawo kaliliu mate. Karata-ra tauna to muli' mpotana Ananias, rahilo-rawo mate wo'o-imi-hawo tobine-na. Kara'ongko' -na wo'o-mi-hawo hilou ratana ncori daeo' tomane-na.
10And she fell down immediately at his feet, and gave up the ghost: and the young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her by her husband.
11Ngkai ree, hawe'ea topepangala' hi Pue' Yesus to mo'oha' hi ree pai' tau ntani' -na wo'o, me'eka' lia-ramo mpo'epe to jadi' toe.
11And great fear came upon the whole church, and upon all that heard these things.
12Wori' tanda mekoncehi pai' anu mobaraka' to rababehi suro Pue' Yesus hi mata ntodea. Hawe'ea tauna to mepangala' hi Pue' Yesus, hanono lau-ra-damo morumpu hi Pengkawinaraa Salomo to hi Tomi Alata'ala.
12And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
13Tauna to uma mepangala' hi Yesus, uma-ra daho' morumpu dohe-ra. Aga nau' wae, hawe'ea topepangala' rabila' ntodea.
13But of the rest durst no man join himself to them: howbeit the people magnified them;
14Kahaa-haea kawoo-woria' tauna to mepangala' hi Pue' Yesus, lompe' tomane lompe' tobine.
14and believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of them and women;
15Wori' tanda mekoncehi to rababehi suro Pue' Yesus, alaa-na wori' topeda' rakeni ntali ali' -ra, rapopoturu hi wiwi' ohea. Apa' rasarumaka ane liu-ipi mpai' Petrus hi ree, nau' ba kampa' kao' -na bela hi woto-ra, mo'uri' -ra.
15insomuch that they even carried out the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that, as Peter came by, at the least his shadow might overshadow some one of them.
16Jadi', mo'iko-ra-damo tauna ngkai ngata-ngata to mohu', hilou hi ngata Yerusalem mpokeni ompi' -ra to peda' pai' tauna to napesuai' seta. Hawe'ea-ra rapaka'uri'.
16And there also came together the multitudes from the cities round about Jerusalem, bring sick folk, and them that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
17Nto'u toe, Imam Bohe hante doo-doo-na to mpotuku' tudui' to Saduki, mohingi' -ramo hi suro Pue' Yesus. Toe pai' ratepu'u-mi mpobalinai' -ra.
17But the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with jealousy,
18Suro Pue' Yesus toera rahoko' pai' rapotuhu hi rala tarungku' ngata.
18and laid hands on the apostles, and put them in public ward.
19Ngkabengia toe, hadua mala'eka Pue' mpobea wobo' tarungku' pai' nakeni-ra hilou hi mali-na. Na'uli' mala'eka toei mpo'uli' -raka:
19But an angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them out, and said,
20"Hilou-mokoi mokore hi Tomi Alata'ala, mpoparata hi ntodea hawe'ea lolita to mpowai' katuwua' to bo'u tetu."
20Go ye, and stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this Life.
21Jadi', mepupulo ngkii, hilou mpu'u-ramo hi Tomi Alata'ala pai' -ra mpotudui' ntodea. Nto'u toe wo'o, Imam Bohe pai' doo-na mpokio' hawe'ea pangkeni to Yahudi morumpu mpobabehi porumpua bohe agama Yahudi. Ria-ramo omea, ra'uli' mpo'uli' -raka topobago-ra: "Hilou-mokoi hi tarungku' mpo'ala' suro Pue' Yesus toera ria, pai' keni-ra tumai."
21And when they heard [this], they entered into the temple about daybreak, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison-house to have them brought.
22Hilou mpu'u-ramo to rapahawa' toera. Ntaa' karata-ra hi tarungku', uma-rapa ria raratai. Nculii' -ramo hilou hi topohura, ra'uli':
22But the officers that came found them not in the prison; and they returned, and told,
23saying, The prison-house we found shut in all safety, and the keepers standing at the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.
24Kara'epe-na toe, ingu' -ramo kapala' polisi Tomi Alata'ala hante imam pangkeni, ba napa to jadi' hi suro toera. Pai' koro' wo'o-ra, ba napa-di mpai' to jadi'.
24Now when the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these words, they were much perplexed concerning them whereunto this would grow.
25Ngkai ree, rata hadua tauna mpo'uli' -raka: "Epe-koi pe'! Tauna to nitarungku' -ele ngone, oe moto-ra-hana ria, mpotudui' ntodea hi Tomi Alata'ala!"
25And there came one and told them, Behold, the men whom ye put in the prison are in the temple standing and teaching the people.
26Kahilou-rami kapala' polisi hante doo-na hi Tomi Alata'ala, mpo'ala' -ra suro toera. Aga uma-ra raweba', rapelompehi mpu'u mpobawai-ra, apa' me'eka' -ra hi ntodea, nee-neo' mpai' hira' lau to rakahurui, alaa-na ntodea mpopana' -ra hante watu.
26Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them, [but] without violence; for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.
27Jadi', rakeni-ramo suro toera hilou pai' -ra rabua' hi topohura. Imam Bohe mpoparesa' -ra, na'uli':
27And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them,
28"Kitaa-tagi-mokoi wengi, neo' -pi metudui' mpokahangai' hanga' -na Yesus. Hilo pe' to nibabehi-e! Hobo' lau-mi ihi' ngata Yerusalem mpo'epe tudui' -ni tetu! Ba kai' lau-mi to nirai' to masala' hi karapatehi-na tau tetui."
28saying, We strictly charged you not to teach in this name: and behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
29Ratompoi' Petrus hante suro Pue' Yesus ntani' -na, ra'uli': "Kai' bate-na mpotuku' hawa' Alata'ala, bela hawa' manusia'.
29But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We must obey God rather than men.
30Yesus toe-e nipatehi-i-koina, nipaku' hi kaju parika'. Aga Alata'ala to rapue' ntu'a-ta owi mpotuwu' nculii' -imi
30The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew, hanging him on a tree.
31pai' na'ongko' -imi napopohura hi mali ngka'ana-na, pai' napajadi' -i Pangkeni pai' Magau' Tompohore-ta ngkai huku' jeko' -ta, bona kita' to Israel medea ngkai jeko' -ta pai' mporata ampu.
31Him did God exalt with his right hand [to be] a Prince and a Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.
32Kai' toi-mi to mposabii' hawe'ea toe, kai' hante Inoha' Tomoroli' wo'o to napewai' Alata'ala hi hema-hema to mengkoru hi hawa' -na."
32And we are witnesses of these things; and [so is] the Holy Spirit, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
33Kara'epe-na topohura lolita-ra toe, gigi-mi nono-ra, pai' doko' rapatehi-ra.
33But they, when they heard this, were cut to the heart, and minded to slay them.
34Tapi' ria hadua ngkai olo' -ra to rahanga' Gamaliel. Gamaliel toei, hadua to Parisi pai' guru agama to rabila' hawe'ea tauna. Mokore-imi mpohubui tauna ngkeni-ra suro toera hilou hi mali-na hampai'.
34But there stood up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in honor of all the people, and commanded to put the men forth a little while.
35Oti toe, pai' na'uli' -raka topohura: "Ompi' -ompi' -ku to Israel! Penonoi lompe' -koi, ba napa to doko' nibabehi hi tauna tohe'i-era.
35And he said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves as touching these men, what ye are about to do.
36Apa' ba hangkuja mpae to liu, ria hadua tomane to rahanga' Teudas. Mpo'uli' -i, hi'a tauna to mobaraka'. Wori' tauna mpotuku' -i, ba ria-ra nte opo' atu. Tapi' ka'omea-na mate rapatehi moto-i, pai' topetuku' -na pagaa' -gaa' -ramo, alaa-na uma-pi kaliliu patuju-ra.
36For before these days rose up Theudas, giving himself out to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were dispersed, and came to nought.
37Hangkani wo'o, nto'u sensus, ria wo'o hadua to Galilea, hanga' -na Yudas. Hi'a wo'o mpakeni wori' tauna mpo'ewa topoparenta. Aga rapatehi wo'o-i-hawo, pai' topetuku' -na pagaa' -gaa' wo'o-wadi.
37After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the enrolment, and drew away [some of the] people after him: he also perished; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered abroad.
38Jadi' ompi' -ompi', toi-ka lolita-ku: neo' tapopai-pai topetuku' Yesus toera lou. Pelele' moto-ra-rawo. Apa' ane ngkai manusia' wadi-hawo tudui' pai' patuju-ra, mogero moto-hawo mpai'.
38And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will be overthrown:
39Tapi' ane ngkai Alata'ala mpu'u-di tudui' -rae, uma-rale ma'ala tadagi-e. Apa' ane hewa toe-ko-koina, lence-na mpo'ewa Alata'ala lau-tamo." Jadi', lolita Gamaliel toe ratarima mpu'u-mi topohura.
39but if it is of God, ye will not be able to overthrow them; lest haply ye be found even to be fighting against God.
40Ngkai ree, rakio' nculii' -ramo suro Pue' Yesus, pai' -ra raweba'. Ra'uli' -raka: "Neo' -pi nitudui' tauna mpokahangai' hanga' Yesus!" Pai' oti toe, rabahaka-ramo.
40And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles unto them, they beat them and charged them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41Malai-ramo suro toera ngkai porumpua. Goe' -ra, ra'uli': "Marasi' -ta apa' Alata'ala mpopelihi-ta bona rabalinai' pai' raruge' sabana petuku' -ta hi Yesus."
41They therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the Name.
42Butu eo-na hi Tomi Alata'ala ba hi tomi ntani' -na, uma ria kaputua-ra mpotudui' tauna Kareba Lompe', Kayesus-na Magau' Topetolo'.
42And every day, in the temple and at home, they ceased not to teach and to preach Jesus [as] the Christ.
