1Jadi', ku'uli' agina neo' -a ulu tilou mpencuai' -koi, apa' uma-a dota mpakasusa' tena nono-ni, hewa to jadi' nto'u pencua' -ku to ri'ulu-e wengi.
1But I have judged this with myself, not to come back to you in grief.
2Apa' ane kupakasusa' nono-ni, hema lau-damo mpai' to mpotanta'u-a? Uma mpai' hema, apa' koi' to kupakasusa' nono-nie, koi' lau-di to ma'ala mpotanta'u-a.
2For if *I* grieve you, who also [is] it that gladdens me, if not he that is grieved through me?
3Toe-mile patuju-ku mpo'uki' sura toe-e wengi, bona ane rata mpu'u-a mpai', uma-pi nipakasusa' nono-ku. Apa' kakoo-kono-na, koi' -dile to kana mpakagoe' nono-kue. Pai' monoto hi aku', ane goe' -a, koi' wo'o mpai' goe'.
3And I have written this very [letter] [to you], that coming I may not have grief from those from whom I ought to have joy; trusting in you all that my joy is [that] of you all.
4Nto'u-ku mpo'uki' sura toe wengi, susa' nono-ku, hewa motomo lia ku'epe, duu' -na tudo' ue mata-ku. Bela patuju-ku mpo'uki' sura toe bona mpakasusa' nono-ni. Ku'uki' sura toe bona ni'inca beiwa kabohe ahi' -ku hi koi'.
4For out of much tribulation and distress of heart I wrote to you, with many tears; not that ye may be grieved, but that ye may know the love which I have very abundantly towards you.
5Jadi' ane ni'anu, masala' mpu'u-i wengi, tapi' uma muntu' aku' -wadi to napedahi nono-ku. Koi' wo'o napedahi nono-ni omea. Aga, bona neo' wa karapo' rahi lolita-ku, agina ku'uli' ria-koi hantongo' to napedahi nono-ni.
5But if any one has grieved, he has grieved, not me, but in part (that I may not overcharge [you]) all of you.
6Kaworia' -ni hi Korintus, nihuku' -imi-hawo. Jadi', ku'uli' -kokoi, hono' -mi-hawo pehuku' -ni tetu-e.
6Sufficient to such a one [is] this rebuke which [has been inflicted] by the many;
7Ni'ampungi pai' nitanta'u-imi-hawo. Nee-neo' mpai' susa' rahi na'epe, alaa-na mere' -mi nono-na.
7so that on the contrary ye should rather shew grace and encourage, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with excessive grief.
8Toe pai' kuperapi' bona nipopohiloi-i-hawo ahi' -ni.
8Wherefore I exhort you to assure him of [your] love.
9Hi rala sura-ku to ri'ulu wengi, kuhubui-koi mpohuku' -i. Patuju-ku mpo'uki' sura toe, bona kuponciloi-kokoi ba nituku' wa hawe'ea hawa' -ku ba uma. Pai' nituku' mpu'u-mi hawa' -ku toe-e wengi.
9For to this end also I have written, that I might know, by putting you to the test, if as to everything ye are obedient.
10Aga hewa toe lau, ku'uli' agina neo' -ipi nihuku' oa'. Ane ni'ampungi-imi-hawo, aku' wo'o mpo'ampungi-i. Ane ria mpu'u sala' -na hi aku', ku'ampungi-i-kuna. Kristus mpo'inca ihi' nono-ku! Apa' konoa-ku bona hintuwu' -koi.
10But to whom ye forgive anything, *I* also; for I also, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, [it is] for your sakes in [the] person of Christ;
11Toe pai' ku'uli' agina ta'ampungi-i-hawo, bona neo' mpai' napoka'alai Magau' Anudaa' mposori-ta. Apa' ta'inca moto-mi akala-na.
11that we might not have Satan get an advantage against us, for we are not ignorant of *his* thoughts.
12Kakaliliua-na ompi', pe'ongko' -ku wengi ngkai ngata Efesus, hilou-a mpokeni Kareba Kristus hi ngata Troas. Karata-ku hi Troas, Pue' mpobea ohea-ku bona mobago-a hi ria.
12Now when I came to Troas for the [publication of the] glad tidings of the Christ, a door also being opened to me in [the] Lord,
13Aga nau' wae, uma oa' rodo nono-ku, apa' ko'ia ku'epei kareba to nakeni Titus ngkai koi' -e ompi'. Toe pai' mpalakana-ama hi ompi' -ompi' to hi ria, pai' kaliliu-ama tumai hi Makedonia toi-e.
13I had no rest in my spirit at not finding Titus my brother; but bidding them adieu, I came away to Macedonia.
14Aga mpo'uli' -a tarima kasi hi Alata'ala, apa' ngkai posidaia' -ta hante Kristus natete' oa' -ta dohe-na pai' nawai' -tamo pedagia. Batua-na, hiapa kahiloua-kai, kipalele Kareba Lompe' bona hawe'ea tauna mpo'epe pai' mpo'inca Alata'ala.
14But thanks [be] to God, who always leads us in triumph in the Christ, and makes manifest the odour of his knowledge through us in every place.
16Hi poncilo-na Alata'ala, kai' hewa dupa' to ratunu, to ra'enga' hawe'ea tauna. Apa' kai' -mi to nasuro mpopalele Kareba Kristus hi hawe'ea tauna. Hi tauna to mpopangala' Kareba Lompe', kai' hewa anu mohonga, apa' ki'uli' -raka kareba to mpowai' -ra katuwua' to lompe' duu' kahae-hae-na. Aga hi tauna to mposapuaka Kareba Lompe', kai' hewa anu mohoa, apa' ki'uli' -raka kanahuku' -ra mpai' Alata'ala hi rala naraka. Hema mpai' to mpakule' mpobago bago toe? Hante pakulea' -ta moto, uma ami' hema.
15For we are a sweet odour of Christ to God, in the saved and in those that perish:
17Aga uma wo'o-kai hewa tauna hantongo' to doko' mponcawa babalua' -ra Lolita Alata'ala. Moroli' patuju-kai, makono lolita-kai, apa' Alata'ala-mi to mpohubui-kai ngkeni Kareba Kristus, pai' Hi'a wo'o to mpotiroi-kai.
16to the one an odour from death unto death, but to the others an odour from life unto life; and who [is] sufficient for these things?
17For we do not, as the many, make a trade of the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as of God, before God, we speak in Christ.
