1Jadi', Timotius ana' -ku! Pakaroho mpu'u nono-nu hante karohoa to tarata ngkai Kristus Yesus ngkai kabula rala-na Alata'ala.
1Thou therefore, my child, be strong in the grace which [is] in Christ Jesus.
2Nu'epe moto wengi hawe'ea tudui' -ku, pai' wori' wo'o tauna to mposabii' pai' mpo'epe tudui' -ku toe. Jadi', tudui' toe kana nuparata wo'o-raka tauna to ma'ala rasarumaka pai' to nginca mpotudui' tau ntani' -na.
2And the things thou hast heard of me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, such as shall be competent to instruct others also.
3Jadi', Timotius, kana sadia wo'o-ko-kowo mpokolo kaparia hangkaa-ngkania hante aku', hewa tantara Kristus Yesus to lompe'.
3Take thy share in suffering as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4Apa' ane tantara to lompe' -hana, bate tari-i mpokolo kaparia, pai' uma-i sese' mpo'urusi urusia-na moto, apa' doko' -i mpakagoe' nono tadulako-na.
4No one going as a soldier entangles himself with the affairs of life, that he may please him who has enlisted him as a soldier.
5Wae wo'o, tauna to mpobago bago Pue' ma'ala rarapai' -ki tauna to motanta' mokeno. Kana natuku' atura-atura po'orea', apa' ane uma natuku', uma-i mpai' mporata parasee.
5And if also any one contend [in the games], he is not crowned unless he contend lawfully.
6Pai' tauna to mpobago bago Pue' ma'ala rarapai' -ki topolia'. Ane mobago ntomo-i, masipato' lia ane hi'a to lomo' -na mpokoni' wua' polia' -na.
6The husbandman must labour before partaking of the fruits.
7Poinono paresa' -ku toi, Pue' moto mponotohi nono-nu bona nupaha omea.
7Think of what I say, for the Lord will give thee understanding in all things.
8Kolo-mi kaparia, pai' kiwoi Yesus Kristus, to tuwu' nculii' ngkai kamatea, Magau' Topetolo' muli Magau' Daud. Toe-mi ihi' -na Kareba Lompe' to kukeni-e.
8Remember Jesus Christ raised from among [the] dead, of [the] seed of David, according to my glad tidings,
9Ngkai kampokeni-ku Kareba Lompe' toe-mi, pai' alaa-ku ngkolo kaparia, duu' -na oi-ama rahilu' hi rala tarungku' hewa tauna to dada'a. Aga Lolita Alata'ala uma-hana tehilu'.
9in which I suffer even unto bonds as an evil-doer: but the word of God is not bound.
10Toe pai' ku'agi-mi mpengkatarii hawe'ea toi-e. Nau' -a rabalinai', kupalele oa' Lolita Alata'ala, bona tauna to napelihi-mi mpo'epe pai' mpopangala', duu' -na mporata-ra kalompea' pai' katuwua' to ncola duu' kahae-hae-na ngkai posidaia' -ra hante Kristus Yesus.
10For this cause I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that *they* also may obtain the salvation which [is] in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11Kolo-mi kaparia, apa' makono mpu'u lolita to mpo'uli': Ane ntoa' mate-ta-damo dohe-na, bate tuwu' wo'o-ta mpai' dohe-na.
11The word [is] faithful; for if we have died together with [him], we shall also live together;
12Ane mosabara-ta mpokolo kaparia, moparenta wo'o-ta-tawo mpai' dohe-na. Aga ane tasapu-di petuku' -ta hi Hi'a, nasapu wo'o-ta-tawo mpai' kakita' -na topetuku' -na.
12if we endure, we shall also reign together; if we deny, *he* also will deny us;
13Nau' molaka' pepangala' -ta hi Hi'a, uma molaka' pepewili' -na hi kita'. Apa' uma-i bisa mo'ungkere' ngkai lolita-na.
13if we are unfaithful, *he* abides faithful, for he cannot deny himself.
14Timotius! Popokiwoii-ra hawe'ea to ku'uli' tohe'i. Paresai' -ra hi rala hanga' Pue' Ala bona neo' -ra momehono' mpomehonoi' ada agama. Apa' pomehonoa' to hewa toe uma ria kalaua-na hi rala katuwu' -ta, mpokero lau-wadi pepangala' -ra to mpo'epe.
14Of these things put in remembrance, testifying earnestly before the Lord not to have disputes of words, profitable for nothing, to the subversion of the hearers.
15Aga iko Timotius, parata tudui' to makono hante kanoa' -noa' -na. Huduwukui mpokamu bago-nu toe, bona ane rata-ko mpai' hi nyanyoa Alata'ala, uma-ko me'ea'. Na'uli' -koko mpai': "Iko-mi topobago-ku to lompe'!"
15Strive diligently to present thyself approved to God, a workman that has not to be ashamed, cutting in a straight line the word of truth.
16Neo' nudohei-ra tauna to mpokeni lolita to uma mo'ihi. Apa' tudui' -ra toe uma mpokeni tauna mpakaroli' katuwu' -ra. Tudui' -ra toe mpokeni tauna kamolaa-laaa lau-di ngkai Alata'ala.
16But profane, vain babblings shun, for they will advance to greater impiety,
17Tudui' to hewa toe melelei hewa haki' pai' mpakada'a katuwu' wori' tauna. Himeneus pai' Filetus, hira' roduaa toe-mi to mpokeni tudui' to dada'a hewa toe.
17and their word will spread as a gangrene; of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
18Meleli' -ra ngkai tudui' to makono, ra'uli' -rana timpaliu-mi pemataa hawe'ea tauna to mate. Tudui' -ra to uma makono toe mpaka'ingu' lau-mi ba hangkuja dua tauna, alaa-na mere' -mi pepangala' -ra.
18[men] who as to the truth have gone astray, saying that the resurrection has taken place already; and overthrow the faith of some.
19Aga nau' wae, Lolita Alata'ala bate makono pai' ma'ala raparasaya. Lolita Alata'ala hewa parawatu to uma molengo. Hi rala Lolita Alata'ala te'uki' hewa toi: Na'inca Pue' kahema-ra to napobagia," Hema-hema to mpo'uli' Kayesus-na Pue' -ra, kana mpobahakai gau' -ra to dada'a."
19Yet the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, [The] Lord knows those that are his; and, Let every one who names the name of [the] Lord withdraw from iniquity.
20Hi rala tomi to bohe, wori' nyala rewa hi poruhea. Ria rewa to lompe', hewa rapa' -na to rababehi ngkai bulawa pai' salaka'. Ria wo'o to rababehi ngkai kaju ba tana' pulu' -wadi. To lompe', rahenta ane ria torata to rabila'. To uma lompe' rahi, rahenta eo-eo-na.
20But in a great house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also wooden and earthen; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21Jadi', ane tabahakai kehi-ta to dada'a, kita' jadi' hewa rewa to lompe', to rahenta mpobila' torata. Batua-na, kita' jadi' topobago to moroli' pai' to ria kalaua-na hi Pue' -ta, pai' sadia-ta mpobago butu nyala pobago to lompe'.
21If therefore one shall have purified himself from these, [in separating himself from them], he shall be a vessel to honour, sanctified, serviceable to the Master, prepared for every good work.
22Toe pai' kuparesai' -ko Timotius, neo' nutuku' kahinaa nono to biasa hi tauna to mongura. Huduwukui mpotuku' gau' to napokono Pue', perohoi pepangala' -nu hi Pue' pai' ahi' -nu hi doo. Tuwu' hintuwu' hante hawe'ea tauna to mekakae hi Pue' ngkai karoli' nono-ra.
22But youthful lusts flee, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those that call upon the Lord out of a pure heart.
23Ria tauna to ntora mpomehonoi' tudui' to uma ria kalaua-na, tapi' ko'ia monoto nono-ra mpo'inca tudui' to makono. Neo' nudohei-ra hi rala pomehonoa' -ra toe, apa' nu'inca moto, lolita-ra toe mpobabehi posisalaa lau-wadi, alaa-na uma-pi hintuwu' tauna.
23But foolish and senseless questionings avoid, knowing that they beget contentions.
24Pai' uma-hawo natao ane kita' to jadi' batua-na Pue' uma hintuwu' hante doo-ta. Kana tapoka'olu po'ingku-ta hi hawe'ea tauna, pante metudui', pai' mosabara.
24And a bondman of [the] Lord ought not to contend, but be gentle towards all; apt to teach; forbearing;
26Tauna to me'ewa kana tapaka'olu mpotanee' -ra, meka' ba lue' Pue' mpalogai-ra medea ngkai pe'ewa-ra duu' -na monoto-mi nono-ra pai' ra'inca tudui' to makono, alaa-na tebahaka-ra ngkai kuasa Magau' Anudaa' to mpewuku-ra mpotuku' konoa-na.
25in meekness setting right those who oppose, if God perhaps may sometime give them repentance to acknowledgment of [the] truth,
26and that they may awake up out of the snare of the devil, [who are] taken by him, for *his* will.
