5

1Toi paresa' -ku hi tauna topo'ua'. Motantangi' -mokoi pai' geo', apa' narumpa' -koi mpai' kaparia.
1Go to now, ye rich, weep, howling over your miseries that [are] coming upon [you].
2Ka'uaa' -ni moronto-mi. Pohea-ni ntoto' -mi.
2Your wealth is become rotten, and your garments moth-eaten.
3Bulawa pai' salaka' to niloju', ta'igaraa' -mi. Pai' ka'uaa' -ni to ta'igaraa' tetu mpai' jadi' tanda kahala' mpopake' -ni ka'uaa' -ni. Mpoloju' -koi rewa hi dunia', hiaa' dunia' toi neo' hudu-mi! Toe pai' rasesa' mpu'u-koi mpai', hewa to nakoni' apu.
3Your gold and silver is eaten away, and their canker shall be for a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as fire. Ye have heaped up treasure in [the] last days.
4Tauna to mobago hi bonea-ni, uma-ra niwai' gaji'. Epe-mi pontodohaka-ra! Topobago to mepae hi bonea-ni mekakae mperapi' tulungi, pai' pekakae-ra toe na'epe-mi Pue' Alata'ala, Pue' to bohe baraka' -na.
4Behold, the wages of your labourers, who have harvested your fields, wrongfully kept back by you, cry, and the cries of those that have reaped are entered into the ears of [the] Lord of sabaoth.
5Koi' hewa porewua to raruduhi pai' rasumale', apa' hi dunia' toi tuwu' mpomaradika-koi, mpali' kagoea' -ni, tapi' ka'omea-na mpai' bate rahuku' -koi.
5Ye have lived luxuriously on the earth and indulged yourselves; ye have nourished your hearts [as] in a day of slaughter;
6Koi' mpohuku' pai' mpopatehi tauna to uma masala', to uma-ra bisa mpo'ewa-koi.
6ye have condemned, ye have killed the just; he does not resist you.
7Toe-mi ompi', pai' kana tari-ta duu' -na Pue' rata nculii'. Hilo pe' posabara topolia' -e, mpopea-ra duu' -na ria wua' polia' -ra to rasarumaka. Mosabara-ra mpopea uda ka'oti-ra ntuja', duu' -na rata tempo-na mepae.
7Have patience, therefore, brethren, till the coming of the Lord. Behold, the labourer awaits the precious fruit of the earth, having patience for it until it receive [the] early and [the] latter rain.
8Wae wo'o kita' kana mosabara ompi'. Pakatida nono-ta, apa' neo' rata mpu'u-imi Pue' -ta.
8*Ye* also have patience: stablish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is drawn nigh.
9Ompi', neo' -ta ngkunuti pai' momesaa-salai', bona neo' -ta rabelahi huku'. Apa' Pue', etu-imi mai hi wobo'! Hi'a-damo mpai' to mpobotuhi omea.
9Complain not one against another, brethren, that ye be not judged. Behold, the judge stands before the door.
10Ompi' -ku hawe'ea! Kiwoi-koi nabi owi to mpokeni Lolita Pue'. Mosabara-ra pai' tari-ra mpotodohaka kaparia. Agina tatuku' posabara-ra.
10Take [as] an example, brethren, of suffering and having patience, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of [the] Lord.
11Apa' hema-ra-kona to ta'uli' morasi' -e? To morasi' -le, tauna to ntaha hi rala kaparia.
11Behold, we call them blessed who have endured. Ye have heard of the endurance of Job, and seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is full of tender compassion and pitiful.
12Ompi' -ku hawe'ea! Ngkai hawe'ea paresa' -ku, toi-mi to meliu mpu'u: Neo' -ta mosumpa, mpokahangai' langi' ba mpokahangai' dunia' ba napa-napa ntani' -na. Ane patuju-ta mpo'uli' io', uli' -mi-hana "Io'." Ane patuju-ta mpo'uli' uma, uli' -mi "Uma," bona neo' -ta rabelahi huku'.
12But before all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath; but let your yea be yea, and your nay, nay, that ye do not fall under judgment.
13Ane ria hi laintongo' -ta to narumpa' kasusaa', agina mosampaya-i. Ane ria to goe', agina morona' -i mpo'une' Alata'ala.
13Does any one among you suffer evil? let him pray. Is any happy? let him sing psalms.
14Ane ria to peda', agina mpokio' -i pangkeni agama, bona pangkeni toera mposampayai-i pai' mpogelai' -i hante lana hi rala hanga' Pue'.
14Is any sick among you? let him call to [him] the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of [the] Lord;
15Ane mosampaya-ra hante nono to mepangala', tauna to peda' bate mo'uri' mpai'. Pue' mpaka'uri' -i, pai' ane ria jeko' -na, ra'ampungi-ki.
15and the prayer of faith shall heal the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he be one who has committed sins, it shall be forgiven him.
16Toe-mi pai' kana himpau tapangaku' sala' -ta pai' momeposampayai, bona mo'uri' -ta. Posampaya tauna to monoa' nono-ra moso' lia.
16Confess therefore your offences to one another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. [The] fervent supplication of the righteous [man] has much power.
17Kiwoi tutura-na nabi Elia owi. Nabi Elia toei, manusia' hewa kita' wo'o-i-wadi-hawo. Mosampaya-i hante nono-na mpu'u bona neo' udaa. Uma mpu'u-pi dungku uda rala-na tolu mpae ono mula.
17Elias was a man of like passions to us, and he prayed with prayer that it should not rain; and it did not rain upon the earth three years and six months;
18Oti toe, mosampaya wo'o-imi, duu' -na langi' mpopana'u-mi uda pai' alaa-na ria-mi wua' polia' -ra.
18and again he prayed, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth caused its fruit to spring forth.
19Ompi' -ku hawe'ea! Ane ria doo-ta to meleli' ngkai tudui' to makono, pai' ria hadua to mpotete' -i nculii' hi Pue', lompe' kehi-na toe.
19My brethren, if any one among you err from the truth, and one bring him back,
20Apa' tauna to mpokeni topojeko' nculii' ngkai kehi-na to sala', mpohore-imi ngkai silaka to duu' kahae-hae-na, pai' jeko' -na to wori' te'ampungi-mi.
20let him know that he that brings back a sinner from [the] error of his way shall save a soul from death and shall cover a multitude of sins.
