1Butu dua tauna kana mengkoru hi topoparenta to hi wongko-ta. Apa' uma ria mara topoparenta ane uma mporata kuasa ngkai Alata'ala. Pai' topoparenta to ria, bate napakatantu Alata'ala.
1Let every soul be subject to the authorities that are above [him]. For there is no authority except from God; and those that exist are set up by God.
2Jadi', tauna to mpo'ewa topoparenta, mposapuaka napa to napakatantu Alata'ala. Pai' tauna to hewa toe kehi-ra bate rahuku'.
2So that he that sets himself in opposition to the authority resists the ordinance of God; and they who [thus] resist shall bring sentence of guilt on themselves.
3Ane lompe' kehi-ta ompi', uma-ta me'eka' hi topoparenta. To me'eka' -le, tauna to dada'a kehi-ra. Jadi', bona neo' -ta me'eka' hi topoparenta, babehi to lompe', bona topoparenta mpo'une' -ta mpai'.
3For rulers are not a terror to a good work, but to an evil [one]. Dost thou desire then not to be afraid of the authority? practise [what is] good, and thou shalt have praise from it;
4Apa' topoparenta toera, pahawaa' Alata'ala to mobago bona lompe' katuwu' -ta. Aga ane melalu-ta, bate me'eka' -ta-hawo hi topoparenta, apa' ria-hana kuasa-ra mehuku'. Apa' topoparenta toera pahawaa' Alata'ala to mpopadupa' huku' Alata'ala hi tauna to dada'a.
4for it is God's minister to thee for good. But if thou practisest evil, fear; for it bears not the sword in vain; for it is God's minister, an avenger for wrath to him that does evil.
5Toe pai' kana mengkoru-ta hi hawa' topoparenta. Mengkoru-ta bona neo' -ta rahuku'. Aga meliu ngkai toe, mengkoru-ta apa' ta'inca hi rala nono-ta, toe-mi to masipato' tababehi.
5Wherefore it is necessary to be subject, not only on account of wrath, but also on account of conscience.
6Toe wo'o-mi pai' kana mpobayari-ta paja', bona topoparenta ma'ala mpopomako' bago to napopokoloi-raka Alata'ala.
6For on this account ye pay tribute also; for they are God's officers, attending continually on this very thing.
7Wai' hi hawe'ea tauna napa to toto-na rawai' -raka, ba paja' -i ba ongkoso' ntani' -na. Pengkorui tauna to toto-na rapengkorui. Bila' tauna to toto-na rabila'.
7Render to all their dues: to whom tribute [is due], tribute; to whom custom, custom; to whom fear, fear; to whom honour, honour.
8Neo' mo'inta hi doo. Aga kakono-na ria oa' inta-ta hi doo. Inta-ta toe: kana mpoka'ahi' doo. Jadi', neo' taka'ohai mpobayari inta-ta toe. Apa' ane tapoka'ahi' doo, ta'ihii' -mi Atura Pue'.
8Owe no one anything, unless to love one another: for he that loves another has fulfilled the law.
9Apa' hi rala Atura Pue' ria parenta toi: "Neo' mobualo', neo' mepatehi, neo' manako, neo' mpokahina anu doo." Hawe'ea toe, pai' parenta ntani' -na wo'o, tatuku' omea-mi ane tatuku' hawa' to hanyala toi: "Kana tapoka'ahi' doo-ta hewa kampoka'ahi' -ta woto-ta moto."
9For, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not lust; and if there be any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
10Ane tapoka'ahi' doo-ta, uma-hawo tababehi to dada'a hi doo-ta toe. Jadi' ane ma'ahi' -ta, ta'ihii' -mi Atura Pue'.
10Love works no ill to its neighbour; love therefore [is the] whole law.
11Hawe'ea toe kana tababehi, ompi', apa' ta'inca moto-mi napa to masipato' tababehi hi tempo toi. Memata-tamo ngkai poleta' -ta, apa' neo' rata-mi tempo-na Pue' Yesus tumai mpohore-ta ngkai dunia' to dada'a toi. Ngkai lomo' pepangala' -ta hi Pue' duu' tempo toi, kamoo-mohua' -mi tempo karataa Pue' Yesus toe.
11This also, knowing the time, that it is already time that *we* should be aroused out of sleep; for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed.
12Bengi-na neo' timpaliu-mi, pai' neo' mehupa' -mi eo. Toe pai' kana tatadi kehi-kehi to hi kabengia-na, pai' tahenta-mi rewa mpanga'e to hi kabajaa-na.
12The night is far spent, and the day is near; let us cast away therefore the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
13Babehi gau' to masipato' hi kabajaa-na. Neo' ntora mosusa' palangu-langu. Hi gau' tomane pai' tobine neo' mogau' sala' ba mpotuku' kahinaa nono-ta to dada'a. Neo' motuda' ba mohingi'.
13As in the day, let us walk becomingly; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and lasciviousness, not in strife and emulation.
14Kana tatuku' -mi kehi Pue' Yesus Kristus, tapoluba' tapo'enu' tatatane eo-eo-na hi rala katuwu' -ta. Neo' -pi tatuku' kehi manusia' to doko' mpe'ohai kahinaa nono-ra to dada'a.
14But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not take forethought for the flesh to [fulfil its] lusts.
