18

1Oti toe, Yesus mpo'uli' hanyala lolita rapa', mpotudui' ana'guru-na bona tida-ra mosampaya pai' neo' mere' nono-ra.
1He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up,
2Na'uli': "Rala ngata hamola', ria hadua topobotuhi to uma mengkoru hi Alata'ala pai' uma wo'o-i mposaile' ba hema-hema.
2saying, “There was a judge in a certain city who didn’t fear God, and didn’t respect man.
3Hi ngata toe wo'o, ria hadua tobine tobalu. Wori' ngkani-imi hilou mponyanyo topobotuhi toei ngkeni kara-kara-na, na'uli': `Tulungi-a-kuwo mposinyanyo-ki bali' -ku.'
3 A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, ‘Defend me from my adversary!’
4"Lomo' -lomo' -na, topobotuhi toei uma dota mpotulungi-i. Aga ka'oo-omea-na na'uli' hi rala nono-na: `Nau' uma-a mengkoru hi Alata'ala pai' uma wo'o-a mposaile' ba hema-hema,
4 He wouldn’t for a while, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God, nor respect man,
5agina kutulungi lau-imi tobalu toei, apa' najojo rahi tumai mposaleroi-a. Apa' ane uma kutulungi-i, uma oa' mpai' nabahakai tumai, alaa-na kupo'oha lau wo'o-kuwo mpai'.'"
5 yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.’”
6Oti toe, na'uli' Pue' Yesus: "Pe'epei-koi napa to na'uli' topobotuhi toei. Nau' uma monoa' nono-na, dota moto-i mpotulungi tobalu to ntora mperapii' -i.
6The Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.
7Peliu-liu-nami Alata'ala doko' mpotulungi topetuku' -na to mekakae ncuu hi eo-na pai' hi bengi-na. Ba ni'uli' -koina, napeka'au ncala' pai' lako' natulungi-rae?
7 Won’t God avenge his chosen ones, who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?
8Uma-hawoe'! Bate napesahui moto-hawo mpotulungi-ra. Aga ane rata nculii' -apa mpai', Aku' Ana' Manusia', ha ria-ra-pidi kurua' tauna to mepangala' hi rala dunia' toi?"
8 I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
9Oti toe, Yesus mpo'uli' hanyala-pi lolita rapa'. Lolita rapa' toi mpotoa' tauna to mpo'uli' hira' -wadi to monoa', pai' -ra mporuge' doo.
9He spoke also this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others.
10Na'uli' Yesus: "Rodua tauna hilou hi Tomi Alata'ala, lou mosampaya. To hadua to Parisi, to hadua topesingara' paja'.
10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.
11To Parisi toei mokore pai' mosampaya hi rala nono-na, na'uli': `Oo Alata'ala, mpo'uli' -a tarima kasi, apa' uma-a hewa tau ntani' -na-- toperampaki, to bengku' nono-ra, topobualo', ba hewa topesingara' paja' toei mai.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed to himself like this: ‘God, I thank you, that I am not like the rest of men, extortioners, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
12Aku', mopuasa' -a rongkani rala-na hamingku. Pai' hampobagiahampulu' ngkai hawe'ea pomporataa-ku kuwai' -koko Pue'.'
12 I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.’
13"Hiaa' topesingara' paja' toei-hawo, mokore ngkawao-i-wadi, pai' uma-i daho' ngkongoa' hi langi'. Ntora mporera' hunamu-nai, pai' na'uli': `Oo Alata'ala! Poka'ahi' -a-kuwo, tauna topojeko' toi-a!'"
13 But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
14Ngkai ree, napohudui Yesus lolita-na, na'uli': "Mpu'u ku'uli' -kokoi: kanculii' -ra hi tomi, topesingara' paja' toe-imi to jadi' monoa' hi poncilo-na Alata'ala, bela to Parisi toei. Apa' hawe'ea to mpomolangko nono-ra, Pue' Ala mpodingkihi-ra. Pai' hawe'ea to mpakadingki' nono-ra, Pue' Ala mpomolangko-ra."
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
15Hangkani, ria tauna to mpokeni ana'lei-ra hi Yesus bona najama pai' nagane' -ra. Mpohilo toe we'i, moroe-ramo ana'guru-na, mpokaroe-ra to mpokeni ana' -ra toe.
15They were also bringing their babies to him, that he might touch them. But when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
16Aga Yesus mpokio' ana' toera pai' na'uli' mpo'uli' -raka ana'guru-na: "Pelele' moto-ra ana' tetura tumai hi Aku', neo' -ra nitagi. Apa' tauna to hewa toe-ramo to jadi' ntodea-na Alata'ala hi rala Kamagaua' -na.
16Jesus summoned them, saying, “Allow the little children to come to me, and don’t hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
17Mpu'u ku'uli' -kokoi: Ane uma-koi mengkoru hi Alata'ala hewa ana', uma-koi mpai' jadi' ntodea-na hi rala Kamagaua' -na."
17 Most certainly, I tell you, whoever doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”
18Hangkani, hadua pangkeni to Yahudi mpekune' Yesus, na'uli': "Guru to lompe', napa to kana kubabehi bona mporata-a-kuwo katuwua' to lompe' duu' kahae-hae-nae?"
18A certain ruler asked him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
19Na'uli' Yesus: "Napa pai' nu'uli' tauna to lompe' -a? Uma ria ntani' -na to lompe', hadua Alata'ala-wadi.
19Jesus asked him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one—God.
20Nu'inca moto parenta to te'uki' hi rala Atura Pue': `Neo' mobualo', neo' mepatehi, neo' manako, neo' mosabi' boa', pai' kana tabila' tina pai' tuama-ta.'"
20 You know the commandments: ‘Don’t commit adultery,’ ‘Don’t murder,’ ‘Don’t steal,’ ‘Don’t give false testimony,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’”
21Na'uli' tau toei: "Hawe'ea parenta tetu lau, kutuku' omea-mi ngkai kakedia' -ku."
21He said, “I have observed all these things from my youth up.”
22Mpo'epe toe, na'uli' -mi Yesus: "Hanyala-pi to kana nubabehi. Pobalu' -mi hawe'ea rewa-nu pai' doi oli-na bagi-raka tokabu. Ane nubabehi hewa toe, bohe mpai' rasi' to nurata hi rala suruga. Oti toe, pai' tumai-moko mpotuku' -a."
22When Jesus heard these things, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have, and distribute it to the poor. You will have treasure in heaven. Come, follow me.”
23Kana'epe-na lolita tohe'e, peda' -mi nono-na, apa' mo'ua' lia-i.
23But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.
24Nahilo-mi Yesus kapeda' nono-na. Toe pai' na'uli': "Mokoro rahi tauna to wori' rewa-ra mengkoru hi Alata'ala bona Hi'a jadi' Magau' -ra.
24Jesus, seeing that he became very sad, said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!
25Mojoli-pi hama'a unta ntara hi wulou' jaru ngkai tauna to mo'ua' mengkoru hi Alata'ala bona Hi'a jadi' Magau' -ra."
25 For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.”
26Konce-ramo tauna to mpo'epe lolita Yesus tohe'e, ra'uli': "Ane wae-di, hema lau-damo to ma'ala mporata katuwua' to lompe' duu' kahae-hae-nae?"
26Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?”
27Na'uli' Yesus: "Ane hante pakulea' manusia' -le, uma ami' hema. Aga nakule' moto Alata'ala mpobabehi to meliu ngkai pakulea' manusia'."
27But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
28Ngkai ree, na'uli' Petrus: "Hiaa' kai', kipalahii-mi-kaina rewa-kai, pai' kituku' -ko."
28Peter said, “Look, we have left everything, and followed you.”
29Na'uli' Yesus mpo'uli' -raka ana'guru-na: "Mpu'u ku'uli' -kokoi: hema-hema to mpalahii tomi-na, tobine-na, ompi' -na, totu'a-na ba ana' -na apa' mpotuku' hawa' Alata'ala Magau' -na,
29He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for the Kingdom of God’s sake,
30tauna toe-mi to mporata wori' ngkani hiwili-na hi dunia' toi. Pai' hi eo mpeno mporata wo'o-i katuwua' to lompe' duu' kahae-hae-na."
30 who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the world to come, eternal life.”
31Yesus mpokio' ana'guru-na to hampulu' rodua mopahantani' pai' na'uli' -raka: "Epe-koi! Hilou-tamo tohe'i-e mpotoa' Yerusalem. Hi ria mpai' hawe'ea to ra'uki' nabi-nabi owi to mpolowa Ana' Manusia' kana madupa' hi Aku'.
31He took the twelve aside, and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed.
32Ratonu-a mpai' hi tauna to bela-ra to Yahudi. Rapopo'ore' -a, raruge', ra'uelikui,
32 For he will be delivered up to the Gentiles, will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit on.
33raweba', pai' -a rapatehi. Aga hi eo katolu-na, tuwu' nculii' moto-a."
33 They will scourge and kill him. On the third day, he will rise again.”
34Aga hawe'ea to na'uli' toe, bate uma rapaha ana'guru-na. Apa' batua-na tewunii' -raka, uma ra'incai kahompoa lolita-na.
34They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they didn’t understand the things that were said.
35Mohu' -mi Yesus hi ngata Yerikho, ria hadua tauna to wero mohura hi wiwi' ohea karapi' -rapi'.
35It happened, as he came near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the road, begging.
36Kampo'epe-na wori' tauna liu, napekune': "Napa-die?"
36Hearing a multitude going by, he asked what this meant.
37Ra'uli' -ki: "Yesus to Nazaret-le liu oe-e lou!"
37They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.
38Mpo'epe toe we'i, pekio' -nami towero toei, na'uli': "Yesus, muli Magau' Daud! Poka'ahi' -a-kuwo!"
38He cried out, “Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!”
39Tauna to momako' ri'ulu ngkai Yesus mpokaroe-i, ra'uli': "Ngkalino-ko!" Aga hangkedi' kanapesukui-na mekio', na'uli': "Muli Magau' Daud, poka'ahi' -a-kuwo!"
39Those who led the way rebuked him, that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “You son of David, have mercy on me!”
40Ngkai ree, mentoda' -imi Yesus pai' na'uli': "Keni tumai towero toei mai!" Rakeni mpu'u-miki. Karata-na hi ree, Yesus mpekune' -i, na'uli': "Napa to nupokono kubabehi-koko?"
40Standing still, Jesus commanded him to be brought to him. When he had come near, he asked him,
41Natompoi' towero toei: "Pue', bona pehilo-a-kuwo!"
41 “What do you want me to do?” He said, “Lord, that I may see again.”
42Na'uli' Yesus: "Ane wae, pehilo-moko! Kupaka'uri' -ko sabana pepangala' -nu hi Aku'."
42Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you.”
43Ncaliu pehilo mpu'u-imi. Ngkai ree, ntora mpotuku' Yesus-imi, pai' mpo'uli' wori' tarima kasi hi Alata'ala. Hawe'ea tauna to mpohilo kajadia' toe, mpo'une' Alata'ala-ramo.
43Immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw it, praised God.
