1Now David was old and full of days; and he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
1利未人的職務和班次大衛年老，壽數將盡的時候，就立他的兒子所羅門作王統治以色列。
2He gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
2大衛召集了以色列的眾領袖、祭司和利未人。
3The Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty-eight thousand.
3利未人自三十歲以上的都被數點；按統計，他們男丁的數目，共有三萬八千人。
4David said, “Of these, twenty-four thousand were to oversee the work of the house of Yahweh; six thousand were officers and judges;
4其中有二萬四千人，監管耶和華殿宇的工作；有六千人作官長和審判官；
5four thousand were doorkeepers; and four thousand praised Yahweh with the instruments which I made, for giving praise.”
5有四千人作守門的，又有四千人用大衛所做（“大衛所做”原文作“我做”）的樂器讚美耶和華。
6David divided them into divisions according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
6大衛把利未的兒子革順、哥轄和米拉利的子孫，分成班次。
7Of the Gershonites: Ladan and Shimei.
7革順的子孫有拉但和示每。
8The sons of Ladan: Jehiel the chief, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
8拉但的兒子是：長子耶歇，還有西坦和約珥，共三人。
9The sons of Shimei: Shelomoth, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the heads of the fathers’ households of Ladan.
9示每的兒子有示羅密、哈薛和哈蘭，共三人。以上這些人是拉但家族的首領。
10The sons of Shimei: Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei.
10示每的兒子是雅哈、細拿、耶烏施和比利亞；這四人都是示每的兒子。
11Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second: but Jeush and Beriah didn’t have many sons; therefore they became a fathers’ house in one reckoning.
11雅哈是長子，細撒是次子；耶烏施和比利亞的子孫不多，所以合為一個家族，同歸一個班次。
12The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
12哥轄的兒子是暗蘭、以斯哈、希伯倫和烏薛，共四人。
13The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons, forever, to burn incense before Yahweh, to minister to him, and to bless in his name, forever.
13暗蘭的兒子是亞倫和摩西。亞倫和他的子孫永遠被分別出來，獻上至聖之物；在耶和華面前燒香，服事他，奉他的名祝福，直到永遠。
14But as for Moses the man of God, his sons were named among the tribe of Levi.
14至於神人摩西，他的子孫記在利未支派的冊上。
15The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.
15摩西的兒子是革舜和以利以謝。
16The sons of Gershom: Shebuel the chief.
16革舜的長子是細布業。
17The sons of Eliezer were: Rehabiah the chief; and Eliezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
17以利以謝的兒子是利哈比雅；以利以謝沒有別的兒子，利哈比雅卻有很多兒子。
18The sons of Izhar: Shelomith the chief.
18以斯哈的長子是示羅密。
19The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
19希伯倫的兒子是：長子耶利雅、次子亞瑪利亞、三子雅哈悉、四子耶加面。
20The sons of Uzziel: Micah the chief, and Isshiah the second.
20烏薛的兒子是：長子米迦、次子耶西雅。
21The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
21米拉利的兒子是抹利和母示；抹利的兒子是以利亞撒和基士。
22Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters only: and their brothers the sons of Kish took them as wives.
22以利亞撒死了，沒有兒子，只有女兒；基士的兒子們，就是他們的親族，娶了她們為妻。
23The sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
23母示的兒子是末力、以得和耶利摩，共三人。
24These were the sons of Levi after their fathers’ houses, even the heads of the fathers’ houses of those who were counted individually, in the number of names by their polls, who did the work for the service of the house of Yahweh, from twenty years old and upward.
24以上這些是利未的子孫，按著他們的家族，各家的首領，照著男丁的名字被數點，二十歲以上的，都是辦理耶和華殿的事務的。
25For David said, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people; and he dwells in Jerusalem forever.
25因為大衛曾說：“耶和華以色列的 神已經使他的子民得享安寧，他自己永遠住在耶路撒冷。
26Also the Levites will no longer need to carry the tabernacle and all its vessels for its service.”
26利未人不必再抬帳幕和其中所使用的一切器皿了。”
27For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered, from twenty years old and upward.
27按著大衛臨終所吩咐的話，利未人從二十歲以上的都被數點了。
28For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Yahweh, in the courts, and in the rooms, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of God’s house;
28他們的職任是協助亞倫的子孫，辦理耶和華殿的事務，管理院子、廂房和潔淨一切聖物，以及辦理 神殿的事務；
29for the show bread also, and for the fine flour for a meal offering, whether of unleavened wafers, or of that which is baked in the pan, or of that which is soaked, and for all kinds of measure and size;
29又管理陳設餅、素祭細麵，或無酵薄餅，或是煎盤烤的，或是用油調和的，以及管理各種量度的器具。
30and to stand every morning to thank and praise Yahweh, and likewise in the evening;
30每天早晨要侍立稱謝和讚美耶和華，每天晚上也要這樣；
31and to offer all burnt offerings to Yahweh, on the Sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts, in number according to the ordinance concerning them, continually before Yahweh;
31又要在安息日，每月初一日和指定的節日，按著數目照著規例，把燔祭不住地獻在耶和華面前。
32and that they should keep the duty of the Tent of Meeting, and the duty of the holy place, and the duty of the sons of Aaron their brothers, for the service of the house of Yahweh.
32他們要看守會幕和聖所，以及看管他們在耶和華殿裡辦事的親族，亞倫的子孫。
