1David said, “Is there yet any who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”
1大衛厚待米非波設大衛問：“掃羅家還有剩下的人沒有？我要因約拿單的緣故，以慈愛待他。”
2There was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba, and they called him to David; and the king said to him, “Are you Ziba?” He said, “Your servant is he.”
2掃羅家有一個僕人，名叫洗巴。有人叫他來見大衛；王問他：“你是洗巴嗎？”他回答：“僕人正是。”
3The king said, “Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God to him?” Ziba said to the king, “Jonathan has yet a son, who is lame of his feet.”
3王又問：“掃羅家還有人沒有？我要以 神的慈愛待他。”洗巴回答王說：“還有約拿單的一個兒子，他雙腳殘廢了。”
4The king said to him, “Where is he?” Ziba said to the king, “Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo Debar.”
4王又問他說：“他在哪裡？”洗巴回答王說：“他在羅．底巴亞米利的兒子瑪吉家裡。”
5Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo Debar.
5於是大衛王派人去把他從羅．底巴亞米利的兒子瑪吉家裡接來。
6Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, and fell on his face, and showed respect. David said, “Mephibosheth.” He answered, “Behold, your servant!”
6掃羅的孫子，約拿單的兒子米非波設來到大衛面前，俯伏叩拜。大衛說：“米非波設！”他回答：“僕人在這裡。”
7David said to him, “Don’t be afraid of him; for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your father. You shall eat bread at my table continually.”
7大衛對他說：“你不要怕，我必因你父親約拿單的緣故，以慈愛待你，把你祖父掃羅所有的田地都歸還給你；你也可以常常與我同席吃飯。”
8He bowed down, and said, “What is your servant, that you should look on such a dead dog as I am?”
8米非波設再叩拜說：“僕人算甚麼？你竟然眷顧我這個像條死狗的人！”
9Then the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said to him, “All that pertained to Saul and to all his house have I given to your master’s son.
9王把掃羅的僕人洗巴召來，對他說：“我已經把屬於掃羅，以及他全家所有的一切，給了你主人的孫子。
10You shall till the land for him, you, and your sons, and your servants; and you shall bring in the harvest, that your master’s son may have bread to eat: but Mephibosheth your master’s son shall eat bread always at my table.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
10你和你的兒子，以及你的僕人，都要替他耕種田地；你要把所收穫的拿來，供他食用。米非波設要常常與我同席吃飯。”洗巴有十五個兒子，二十個僕人。
11Then Ziba said to the king, “According to all that my lord the king commands his servant, so your shall servant do.” So Mephibosheth ate at the king’s table, like one of the king’s sons.
11洗巴對王說：“我主我王吩咐僕人的一切，僕人都必遵行。”於是米非波設與王同桌吃飯，像是王的一個兒子一樣。
12Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Mica. All that lived in the house of Ziba were servants to Mephibosheth.
12米非波設有一個小兒子，名叫米迦。住在洗巴家裡的人，都作了米非波設的僕人。
13So Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem; for he ate continually at the king’s table. He was lame in both his feet.
13這樣，米非波設住在耶路撒冷，常常與王同席吃飯。可是他的雙腿都是瘸的。
