1David consulted with the captains of thousands and of hundreds, even with every leader.
1约柜停放在俄别．以东的家（撒下6:1-11）
2David said to all the assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you, and if it is of Yahweh our God, let us send abroad everywhere to our brothers who are left in all the land of Israel, with whom the priests and Levites are in their cities that have suburbs, that they may gather themselves to us;
2然后大卫对以色列全体会众说：“你们如果认为好，认为这事是出于耶和华我们的 神，我们就差遣人走遍以色列各地，去见留在各地的兄弟，以及和他们在一起住在那些有草场的城的祭司和利未人，叫他们都聚集到我们这里来。
3and let us bring again the ark of our God to us. For we didn’t seek it in the days of Saul.”
3我们可以把我们 神的约柜运到我们这里来，因为在扫罗的日子，我们都没有在约柜前求问 神。”
4All the assembly said that they would do so; for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
4全体会众都同意这样行，因为这事众人都认为对。
5So David assembled all Israel together, from the Shihor the brook of Egypt even to the entrance of Hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kiriath Jearim.
5于是大卫把以色列众人，从埃及的西曷河直到哈马口，都招聚来，要把 神的约柜从基列．耶琳运来。
6David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kiriath Jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God Yahweh that sits above the cherubim, that is called by the Name.
6大卫和以色列众人去到巴拉，就是属犹大的基列．耶琳，要从那里把 神的约柜运回来；这约柜是以坐在二基路伯上面的耶和华而起名的。
7They carried the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.
7他们把 神的约柜，从亚比拿达家里抬出来，放在一辆新车上，乌撒和亚希约负责赶车。
8David and all Israel played before God with all their might, even with songs, and with harps, and with stringed instruments, and with tambourines, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
8大卫和以色列众人在 神面前，用诗歌，以及弹琴鼓瑟、敲手鼓、响钹和吹号，尽情欢庆。
9When they came to the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.
9他们到了基顿禾场的时候，因为牛失蹄绊倒，乌撒就伸手扶住约柜。
10The anger of Yahweh was kindled against Uzza, and he struck him, because he put forth his hand to the ark; and there he died before God.
10于是耶和华向乌撒发怒，因为乌撒伸手把约柜扶住，所以 神把他击杀，他就在那里死在 神面前。
11David was displeased, because Yahweh had broken forth on Uzza; and he called that place Perez Uzza, to this day.
11大卫因耶和华忽然杀死乌撒，非常不悦，就称那地方为毗列斯．乌撒，直到今日。
12David was afraid of God that day, saying, “How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?”
12那天，大卫惧怕 神，说：“我怎可以把 神的约柜运到我这里来呢？”
13So David didn’t move the ark to him into the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.
13所以，大卫没有把约柜运到大卫城他自己那里去，却转运到迦特人俄别．以东的家里去。
14The ark of God remained with the family of Obed-Edom in his house three months: and Yahweh blessed the house of Obed-Edom, and all that he had.
14 神的约柜存放在俄别．以东的家里三个月，耶和华赐福给俄别．以东的家和他的一切。
