1God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel, and live there. Make there an altar to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.”
1雅各回到伯特利
2Then Jacob said to his household, and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, change your garments.
2雅各就对他的家人，和所有与他在一起的人说：“你们要除去你们中间外族人的神像，你们要洁净自己，更换你们的衣服。
3Let us arise, and go up to Bethel. I will make there an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.”
3我们要起程，上伯特利去；我要在那里给 神筑一座祭坛，他就是在我遭患难的时候应允我的呼求，在我所行的路上与我同行的那一位。”
4They gave to Jacob all the foreign gods which were in their hands, and the rings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.
4他们就把自己手中所有外族人的神像，和自己耳朵上的环子，都交给雅各；雅各把这些东西埋在示剑附近的橡树底下。
5They traveled, and a terror of God was on the cities that were around them, and they didn’t pursue the sons of Jacob.
5他们出发了， 神使周围的城市都非常惧怕，他们就不追赶雅各的儿子。
6So Jacob came to Luz (that is, Bethel), which is in the land of Canaan, he and all the people who were with him.
6于是雅各和与他在一起的人，到了迦南地的路斯，就是伯特利。
7He built an altar there, and called the place El Beth El; because there God was revealed to him, when he fled from the face of his brother.
7他在那里筑了一座坛，就称那地方为伊勒．伯特利，因为他逃避他哥哥的时候， 神曾经在那里向他显现。
8Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse, died, and she was buried below Bethel under the oak; and its name was called Allon Bacuth.
8利百加的乳母底波拉死了，葬在伯特利下边的橡树底下，所以给那棵树起名叫亚伦．巴古。
9God appeared to Jacob again, when he came from Paddan Aram, and blessed him.
9雅各从巴旦．亚兰回来以后， 神再次向他显现，赐福给他。
10God said to him, “Your name is Jacob. Your name shall not be Jacob any more, but your name will be Israel.” He named him Israel.
10 神对他说：“你的名原是雅各，但以后不要再叫雅各，以色列才是你的名。”这样， 神给他改名叫以色列。
11God said to him, “I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply. A nation and a company of nations will be from you, and kings will come out of your body.
11 神对他说：“我是全能的 神，你要繁殖增多，必有一大国从你而生，又必有很多君王从你而出。
12The land which I gave to Abraham and Isaac, I will give it to you, and to your seed after you will I give the land.”
12我赐给亚伯拉罕和以撒的地，我要赐给你，我也要把这地赐给你的后裔。”
13God went up from him in the place where he spoke with him.
13 神从与雅各谈话的地方，离开他上升去了。
14Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he spoke with him, a pillar of stone. He poured out a drink offering on it, and poured oil on it.
14雅各就在 神与他谈话的地方，立了一根石柱；在柱上浇了奠祭和油。
15Jacob called the name of the place where God spoke with him “Bethel.”
15雅各给 神与他谈话的地方起名叫伯特利。
16They traveled from Bethel. There was still some distance to come to Ephrath, and Rachel travailed. She had hard labor.
16拉结因难产而逝世他们从伯特利起程，离以法他还有一段路程的时候，拉结产期到了；但她遇到难产。
17When she was in hard labor, the midwife said to her, “Don’t be afraid, for now you will have another son.”
17她正在极辛苦的时候，接生婆对她说：“不要怕，你这次又得了一个儿子。”
18It happened, as her soul was departing (for she died), that she named him Benoni, “Benoni” means “son of my trouble.” but his father named him Benjamin. “Benjamin” means “son of my right hand.”
18拉结快要死了，正要断气的时候，她给她儿子起名叫便．俄尼；他的父亲却叫他便雅悯。
19Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath (the same is Bethlehem).
19拉结死了，葬在通往以法他的路旁。以法他就是伯利恒。
20Jacob set up a pillar on her grave. The same is the Pillar of Rachel’s grave to this day.
20雅各在她的坟墓上立了一根柱子，就是拉结的墓碑，到今天还在。
21Israel traveled, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Eder.
21以色列又起程前行，在以得台那边支搭了帐棚。
22It happened, while Israel lived in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah, his father’s concubine, and Israel heard of it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve.
22以色列的众子（代上2:1-2）以色列在那地居住的时候，流本竟去与他父亲的妾辟拉同睡；这事以色列也听见了。雅各共有十二个儿子。
23The sons of Leah: Reuben (Jacob’s firstborn), Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.
23利亚的儿子有：雅各的长子流本，以及西缅、利未、犹大、以萨迦和西布伦。
24The sons of Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin.
24拉结的儿子有：约瑟和便雅悯。
25The sons of Bilhah (Rachel’s handmaid): Dan and Naphtali.
25拉结的婢女辟拉的儿子有：但和拿弗他利。
26The sons of Zilpah (Leah’s handmaid): Gad and Asher. These are the sons of Jacob, who were born to him in Paddan Aram.
26利亚的婢女悉帕的儿子有：迦得和亚设。这些都是雅各在巴旦．亚兰所生的儿子。
27Jacob came to Isaac his father, to Mamre, to Kiriath Arba (which is Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac lived as foreigners.
27雅各来到基列．亚巴的幔利他父亲以撒那里，基列．亚巴就是希伯仑，是亚伯拉罕和以撒寄居过的地方。
28The days of Isaac were one hundred eighty years.
28以撒逝世以撒一生的年日共一百八十岁。
29Isaac gave up the spirit, and died, and was gathered to his people, old and full of days. Esau and Jacob, his sons, buried him.
29以撒年纪老迈，享尽天年，就气绝而死，归到他的亲族那里去了；他儿子以扫和雅各把他葬了。
