1The man knew Eve his wife. She conceived, and gave birth to Cain, and said, “I have gotten a man with Yahweh’s help.”
1该隐和亚伯
2Again she gave birth, to Cain’s brother Abel. Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
2她又生了该隐的弟弟亚伯。亚伯是牧羊的，该隐是种地的。
3As time passed, it happened that Cain brought an offering to Yahweh from the fruit of the ground.
3有一天，该隐把地里的出产拿来，当作礼物献给耶和华。
4Abel also brought some of the firstborn of his flock and of its fat. Yahweh respected Abel and his offering,
4亚伯也把自己羊群中一些头生的，和羊的脂油拿来献上。耶和华看中了亚伯和他的礼物；
5but he didn’t respect Cain and his offering. Cain was very angry, and the expression on his face fell.
5只是没有看中该隐和他的礼物。该隐就非常忿怒，垂头丧气。
6Yahweh said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why has the expression of your face fallen?
6耶和华对该隐说：“你为什么忿怒呢？你为什么垂头丧气呢？
7If you do well, will it not be lifted up? If you don’t do well, sin crouches at the door. Its desire is for you, but you are to rule over it.”
7你若行得好，岂不可以抬起头来吗？你若行得不好，罪就伏在门口了；它要缠住你，你却要制伏它。”
8Cain said to Abel, his brother, “Let’s go into the field.” It happened when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel, his brother, and killed him.
8该隐对他的弟弟亚伯说：“我们到田间去吧。”他们正在田间的时候，该隐就起来袭击他的弟弟亚伯，把他杀了。
9Yahweh said to Cain, “Where is Abel, your brother?” He said, “I don’t know. Am I my brother’s keeper?”
9耶和华问该隐：“你的弟弟亚伯在哪里？”他回答：“我不知道；难道我是看守我弟弟的吗？”
10Yahweh said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries to me from the ground.
10耶和华说：“你作了什么事呢？你弟弟的血有声音从地里向我呼叫。
11Now you are cursed because of the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.
11地开了口，从你手里接受了你弟弟的血，现在你要从这地受咒诅。
12From now on, when you till the ground, it won’t yield its strength to you. You shall be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth.”
12你种地，地也不再给你效力；你必在地上流离失所。”
13Cain said to Yahweh, “My punishment is greater than I can bear.
13该隐对耶和华说：“我的刑罚太重，过于我所能担当。
14Behold, you have driven me out this day from the surface of the ground. I will be hidden from your face, and I will be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth. It will happen that whoever finds me will kill me.”
14看哪，今日你赶逐我离开这地，以致我要躲避你的面；我必在地上流离失所，遇见我的，都要杀我。”
15Yahweh said to him, “Therefore whoever slays Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold.” Yahweh appointed a sign for Cain, lest any finding him should strike him.
15耶和华对该隐说：“绝不会这样，杀该隐的，必遭报七倍。”耶和华就给该隐立了一个记号，免得遇见他的人击杀他。
16Cain went out from Yahweh’s presence, and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.
16于是该隐从耶和华面前出去，住在伊甸东边的挪得地。
17Cain knew his wife. She conceived, and gave birth to Enoch. He built a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
17该隐的后代该隐和妻子同房，她就怀孕，生了以诺。该隐建造了一座城，就按着他儿子的名，给那城叫作以诺。
18To Enoch was born Irad. Irad became the father of Mehujael. Mehujael became the father of Methushael. Methushael became the father of Lamech.
18以诺生以拿，以拿生米户雅利，米户雅利生玛土撒利，玛土撒利生拉麦。
19Lamech took two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.
19拉麦娶了两个妻子，一个名叫亚大，另一个名叫洗拉。
20Adah gave birth to Jabal, who was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock.
20亚大生雅八，雅八就是居住帐棚、牧养牲畜的人的鼻祖。
21His brother’s name was Jubal, who was the father of all who handle the harp and pipe.
21雅八的兄弟名叫犹八；犹八是所有弹琴吹箫的人的鼻祖。
22Zillah also gave birth to Tubal Cain, the forger of every cutting instrument of brass and iron. Tubal Cain’s sister was Naamah.
22洗拉也生了土八．该隐，就是打造各种铜铁器具的匠人；土八．该隐的妹妹是拿玛。
23Lamech said to his wives, “Adah and Zillah, hear my voice. You wives of Lamech, listen to my speech, for I have slain a man for wounding me, a young man for bruising me.
23拉麦对他的两个妻子说：“亚大和洗拉，要听我的声音；拉麦的妻子，聆听我的话：壮年人伤我，我必杀他；青年人损我，我必害他；
24If Cain will be avenged seven times, truly Lamech seventy-seven times.”
24人若杀该隐，要遭报七倍；人若杀拉麦，必遭报七十个七倍！”
25Adam knew his wife again. She gave birth to a son, and named him Seth, “for God has appointed me another child instead of Abel, for Cain killed him.”
25塞特和以挪士亚当又和妻子同房，她就生了一个儿子，给他起名叫塞特，因为她说：“ 神给我立了另一个后裔代替亚伯，因为该隐杀了他。”
26There was also born a son to Seth, and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on Yahweh’s name.
26塞特也生了一个儿子，就给他起名叫以挪士。那时人才开始呼求耶和华的名。
