1The word of Yahweh that came to Jeremiah concerning the drought.
1预言旱灾
2Judah mourns, and its gates languish, they sit in black on the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.
2“犹大悲哀，她的城镇（“城镇”原文作“城门”）衰落，人人都坐在地上悲伤痛哭；耶路撒冷的哀声上达于天。
3Their nobles send their little ones to the waters: they come to the cisterns, and find no water; they return with their vessels empty; they are disappointed and confounded, and cover their heads.
3他们的显贵差派童仆去打水；童仆来到池边，却找不到水，就拿着空的器皿回来；他们失望难过，蒙着自己的头。
4Because of the ground which is cracked, because no rain has been in the land, the plowmen are disappointed, they cover their heads.
4土地干裂，因为地上没有雨水；农夫失望，都蒙着自己的头。
5Yes, the hind also in the field calves, and forsakes her young, because there is no grass.
5甚至母鹿在田野生产了小鹿，也得把它丢弃，因为没有青草。
6The wild donkeys stand on the bare heights, they pant for air like jackals; their eyes fail, because there is no herbage.
6野驴站在光秃的高冈上，像野狗喘着气；它们双目发呆，因为没有青草。”
7Though our iniquities testify against us, work for your name’s sake, Yahweh; for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against you.
7“耶和华啊！即使我们的罪孽指证我们，还求你因你名的缘故施行拯救。我们实在多次背道，得罪了你。
8You hope of Israel, its Savior in the time of trouble, why should you be as a foreigner in the land, and as a wayfaring man who turns aside to stay for a night?
8以色列的盼望啊！以色列遭难时的拯救者啊！你为什么在本地像一个寄居的人，又像个只住宿一夜的旅客呢？
9Why should you be like a scared man, as a mighty man who can’t save? Yet you, Yahweh, are in the midst of us, and we are called by your name; don’t leave us.
9你为什么像个受惊的人，又像个不能拯救人的勇士呢？耶和华啊！你是在我们中间，我们是称为你名下的人，求你不要离弃我们。”
10Thus says Yahweh to this people, Even so have they loved to wander; they have not refrained their feet: therefore Yahweh does not accept them; now he will remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.
10耶和华论到这人民这样说：“他们喜爱这样流荡，不约束自己的脚；因此耶和华不悦纳他们，现在就要记念他们的罪孽，并要惩罚他们的罪恶。”
11Yahweh said to me, Don’t pray for this people for their good.
11耶和华对我说：“不要为这人民祈求好处；
12When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and meal offering, I will not accept them; but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.
12即使他们禁食，我也不会听他们的呼求；即使他们献上燔祭和素祭，我也不会悦纳；我却要用刀剑、饥荒和瘟疫去灭尽他们。”
13Then I said, Ah, Lord Yahweh! behold, the prophets tell them, You shall not see the sword, neither shall you have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.
13假先知的收场我就说：“唉，主耶和华啊！你看，那些先知常对他们说：‘你们必不会看见刀剑，也必不会有饥荒；因为我耶和华要在这地方赐给你们恒久的平安。’”
14Then Yahweh said to me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name; I didn’t send them, neither have I commanded them, neither spoke I to them: they prophesy to you a lying vision, and divination, and a thing of nothing, and the deceit of their own heart.
14耶和华对我说：“那些先知借我的名说假预言；我并没有差遣他们，没有吩咐他们，也没有向他们说话。他们对你们所预言的，是虚假的异象、占卜的预兆、虚无的事，和他们自己心里的诡诈。”
15Therefore thus says Yahweh concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name, and I didn’t send them, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land: By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.
15因此，耶和华这样说：“关于那些借我名说预言的先知，我并没有差遣他们，他们竟说：‘这地必不会有刀剑和饥荒。’那些先知必被刀剑和饥荒灭绝。
16The people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them—them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness on them.
16至于那些听他们说预言的人民，必因刀剑和饥荒被拋弃在耶路撒冷的街上，没有人埋葬他们，也没有人埋葬他们的妻子和儿女。我必要把他们作恶应得的报应倒在他们身上。
17You shall say this word to them, Let my eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease; for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous wound.
17耶利米为人民哀痛“你要对他们说这话：‘愿我的眼泪直流，日夜不停；因为我的同胞（“同胞”原文作“人民的处女”）遭受极大的毁灭，受到很严重的打击。
18If I go forth into the field, then, behold, the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then, behold, those who are sick with famine! for both the prophet and the priest go about in the land, and have no knowledge.
18如果我出到田间，就看见那些被刀剑所杀的人；如果我走进城里，就看见因饥荒而来的各种疾病。连先知和祭司也流亡到他们素不认识的地方。’”
19Have you utterly rejected Judah? has your soul loathed Zion? why have you struck us, and there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of healing, and behold, dismay!
19你真的弃绝犹大吗？你真的讨厌锡安吗？你为什么击打我们，使我们无法医治呢？我们期待平安，却得不到好处；期待得医治的时候，不料，只有惊慌。
20We acknowledge, Yahweh, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers; for we have sinned against you.
20耶和华啊！我们承认我们的罪恶，和我们列祖的罪孽；我们实在得罪了你。
21Do not abhor us, for your name’s sake; do not disgrace the throne of your glory: remember, don’t break your covenant with us.
21求你为你名的缘故，不要厌弃我们！不要叫你荣耀的宝座蒙羞！求你记念你和我们所立的约，不要废除！
22Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? or can the sky give showers? Aren’t you he, Yahweh our God? therefore we will wait for you; for you have made all these things.
22列国虚无的偶像中，有可以降雨的吗？天能自降甘霖吗？耶和华我们的 神啊！能够这样作的，不是只有你吗？所以我们仰望你，因为这一切都是你所作的。
